Princess Maker is a series of simulation games created by Gainax. This FAQ covers information about the first game, since there aren't any. This mostly covers preliminary information about the game. Some things in this FAQ may not work for your version. All seemed lost until the hero (you) came along and defeated the unholy creatures. The king thanks you and asks what you want. You asked for a child to raise and to end all wars. You are asked to go downstairs and there you saw a girl aged 10. At first she seemed timid but after you talked to her, she accepted you as her father. 2. What are the options when I start a new game? Family name You select your family name. Girl's name You select your daughter's name Blood type Apparently this is important in Asian countries but this has no impact on your game whatsoever. Daughter's birthday This is where you specify when your daughter was born. Note that the game will always start at April or May depending on your version. Also the game will start from when she's 10. 3. What do the buttons do? How do I schedule? 5.1 What are the jobs? Your daughter starts out with only 5 jobs but will increase as she gets older. Like in real life, every job causes stress. + Indicates that the stat will go up. - Indicates that the stat will go down. Unlike the later games, PM 1 only has 3 classes for your daughter to take. As with jobs they also cause stress. # Martial Arts + Experience - Nothing # Knowledge + Intelligence - Nothing Courtesy Class + Refinement - Nothing Adventuring (see 6.4 for more details) + Nothing - Nothing # This class requires you take an exam to go to the next level. 5.3 What else can I schedule for my daughter? Free Time A nice relaxing day for your daughter. If she has stress it will cost you money depending on her stress. Also it will take away her morality. Vacation Cost 100G. It will increase her morality. 5.4 What is Adventuring? This is where you can send your daughter out in the wilderness. Be careful though, there are monsters and if she gets defeated by any one of them, she will run back home. I recommend having a child well versed in martial arts and having good weapons before adventuring. If she does manage to defeat a monster she will gain some experience and reputation. If she makes to the other side of town, she will get a 50 reputation bonus. 6. How will the items help me? Basic items These will disappear after use. You can also get these during adventuring. What versions are available for Princess Maker? Princess Maker is available for Windows, DOS, PC98, MSX and PC Engine. 8. Can my daughter use magic? Yes she can when she passes her exams in Knowledge class. The spells she can cast are attack, defense and healing. 9. What is the Harvest Festival? The Harvest Festival is a festival held to thank the gods for their generosity. It comes every year at the end of September. 9.1 What will my daughter do during the Harvest Festival? She can participate in the fighting contest, a beauty contest or just rest. In the fighting contest she must defeat all her contestants in order to win. But she does not win any prizes or any money, only her reputation goes up. In the beauty contest she can be one of the contestants. In order to win she must get the most votes.
