METAL GEAR SOLID MOBILE FAQ/Walk-through v1.0 by Bloodatonement bloodatonement97@yahoo.com *** Index *** I. Before we start II. Weapons/Items III. Walk-through IV. Rankings V. Unlockables VI. Bug Hunt *** I. Before we start *** If you are shooting at enemies that aren't actively attacking or looking for you, take the time to switch into first person view. This will let you get head shots and take out enemies quicker, regardless of if you are going for a kill or tranq shot. Also, some phones let you uses your phone's camera for the camo. My phone didn't, so I don't deal with this. All references to the camo camera are in game uses. The walk-through is a "speed run" walk-through, in that it takes you on the most direct route I've found to get from the beginning to end. Also, it is mostly based on a no kill run, so it relies heavily on the M9. *** II. Weapons/Items *** --- Weapons --- M9: Silenced tranq dart gun Chaff: Electronics disrupting grenade SOCOM: Handgun FA-MAS: Machine gun C4: Plastic explosive Nikita: Remote guided missiles Chameleon Camouflage: Point at something and click to change your outfits color. --- Items --- Camera: Takes pictures. Used for Bug Hunt (see section VI) Box: Hide in it. (I haven't have any quick transport uses for it) Ration: Restore health Key Card: Gets your through doors. Upgradeable. *** III. Walk-through *** --- First Floor --- Utility Room Head through the first door and after the chat with Otacon shoot the guard in the back of the head with the M9. Head to the top right corner and grab the ration, then head through the door. Store Room Head through the door to your right, grab the chaff, then jump the boxes and grab the M9 ammo. You can toss a chaff to get past the camera or press up against the wall and sneak under. Pass through the door and enter the second room. There's a guard patrolling. You can M9 him or head to the right side of the room and sneak past him by jumping over some boxes then crawling under some pipes. At the top of room there are some more pipes you can crawl under to grab another ration. Exit through the top right door. Base Main Entrance Ignore the guard on the other side of the boxes, and head to the far right then up the stairs. Quickly pull out your M9 and shoot the guard who will be to your left. Head out the door to the left. Utility Control Room You can follow Otacon's advice and knock to pull the guard from his post, I found if you hug the wall you will stay out of his field of vision and you can tranq him. Head to the computer terminal in the upper right. The progress bar will freeze at 75% and Otacon will tell you to play a game to hack the computer and gain access. After you complete the mini-game you can head to the level 2 room and Otacon will tell you about lockers. The locker has Socom ammo in it, but you can't pick it up until you get the Socom. Head back to the Main Entrance. Base Main Entrance Head to the exit at the top right. If you tranqued the guard on you first trip he should still be knocked out. Primary Corridor Your M9 will start tracking a guard. Tranq him. Head the far right and head up those stairs, got the right again then up the next walk way and out of the room. If you move fast enough you'll avoid the guard on the upper level. Auxiliary Corridor Quickly run into the central "lounge" area and duck into the vent on the left wall. Crawl through the vent. When you get out, head up to the elevator and take it down to Basement 1. --- Basement 1 --- South Corridor Your camo will start changing color and then you'll talk to Otacon. He'll tell you it must have finished re-booting. You can leave Snake purple if you want or you can pull out the camo camera and change him to something more stealth. Head down and left then out the door. Mess Hall Tranq the guards and head to the small room at the top left and grab Snakes favorite disguise, the box. There is a ration under the top table. Exit at the top right. East/West Corridor Toss a chaff, head up, left past the camera, then up again. Bathrooms If you go into the bathroom on the right (Men's Room) you enter a crawl space and move on to the next section. Alternatively, you can head down the hall and leave via the first door. There is a guard on patrol, he starts out in the Women's Room. Sleeping Quarters If you enter through the vent there will be a guard in the room just above you. You can angle yourself to get a tranq shot at him, or you can wait for him to move to the next room and stands in front of the soda machine, then just run past him and skip the ration. Avoid the guard in the left section of the room as you head to the exit at the top left. If you come in through the door, you will have a guard down the hall in front of you. You can sneak around him or tranq him. As you head up to the exit, make sure the guard in the section on the right isn't looking into the hall. Central Corridor Head through the first door on the right Fusion Lab You need to turn your camo red. Just point the camo camera at the red sign on the wall and you will turn Snake a wonderful bright red. Go to the room on the left and the door will open for you. The next section has 2 guards, one on the lower section and one on the upper section. I tranq them both. Temporary Storage One guard, easily tranqued, easily dodge by staying on the opposite side of the central box. There's M9 ammo directly down from where you enter. Exit at the bottom of the room. Amory The top two rooms are accessible, one has chaffs and rations, the other has Socom and ammo. Exit is at the bottom. Security Control Room Head left and down, then into the central room. Use the computer. Blah, blah, blah, plot twist. You're locked in the room. Hide under one of the tables, the one in front of the door has a ration under it. Otacon will call you a few times, you'll do one hacking mini game and then finally a guard be sent to patrol. If you are under the table (a classic Snake move) the guard will come in to check on you. Sadly, hiding in the box won't work. Wait until the guard goes over to the computer, then run out behind him. Elevator Access Down and right until you get to the elevator. Take the elevator back up to the first floor. --- First Floor - Second Time --- Equipment Store The red trip lasers are hooked to bombs. Use the Socom to shoot one or both of the green boxes on the floor to disable either/both of the bombs. There's Socom ammo back by the elevator. Exit at the bottom. Store Room New security camera in this room. It has a gun on it. Toss a chaff, head right and exit. Base Main Entrance Head to the top left, and shoot the green box there. Head to the right and take out the next bomb. Ignore the other two bombs on the lower level and head up the stairs. Go into the sub room and shot the green box there. Exit top right. Primary Corridor Go up the stairs on the right. Throw a chaff to disable the cameras. Head up to the exit. Aux Corridor. Head up and around and come into the lounge sub-room via the top. Use your camo camera on one of the dead guards. You can take out the trip bomb, or crawl through the air duct to the to the elevator on the left. Head back down. --- Basement 1 - Second Time --- South Corridor Down and left. Mess Hall After talking to Otacon, quickly head all the way right then all the way up. The terrorists shouldn't notice you. East/West Corridor Tranq the terrorist, toss a chaff or sneak under the camera. Head to the restrooms. Restrooms Shoot the green box. Head to the door. Sleeping Quarters Tranq the terrorist head to the exit. Central Corridor. Head to the far right door. Access Control Room Head through the door in front of you, pull out the camo camera and aim at the terrorist then tranq him. Exit the room, head right (there are chaffs in the bottom right corner) and then up past the guns. Head left and then out the exit. Keep the terrorist's camo. Observation Area Head to the first door on the right and all the way to the top. Use computer on the left. Hacking mini-game. Dun dun dun! METAL...GEAR?! Head back down to Access Control. Access Control Room Head right and around and down (if you kept the terrorists camo). The terrorist should still be knocked out. If not, wait for him to not be looking out the window and head left and exit. Alternatively, you can head through the middle rooms, dodging or tranquing the terrorists and grabbing the items within. Central Corridor Head to the left and tranq the terrorist. Toss a chaff, head down and to the left exit. Armory Head down and into the first room. **Watch out there is a trip bomb in there** Take out the bomb and grab the FA-MAS and ammo. Head to the room to the left, but watch out for the camera. You can throw a chaff or just watch for when it's not pointed at the door. **Another bomb in this room** Take it out, and grab the Nikita and C4. Head back to the Central Corridor. Central Corridor The terrorist should still be knocked out. Get past the camera and head back to the Access Control room (All the way up and to the right). Access Control If you still have the terrorist camo quickly run all the way to the right. Then head up and left to the Observation Area. Observation Area Head all the way right to the elevator. Take the elevator down. --- Basement 2 --- Lower Storage This room is pretty annoying. You can see 4 trip lasers and you'll need to take out 4 control boxes, but they are in a room you can't get to. There are 3 control boxes in the big room and one in a side room. You can see two of the control boxes through the window, the other one in the main room is in the back left. For the final control box you have to go through an air vent on the right side of the main room (its pretty much straight ahead of where the missile will exits the first vent). Bust out the Nikita and guide the missile through the air vent. Watch out for the walls of the vent, the missile will detonate if it bumps them. Also, for the control box at the back of the room and the one through the second vent, watch your fuel gage at the top left of the missile guidance screen. If you run out of fuel the missile will detonate. There are extra missiles in the locker next to the vent. After you take out all 4 control boxes, head through the door. The side room has a ration and C4. The exit is at the top right. Engineering There is a ration in the top right. Head down the stair and avoid the camera on the left wall and head out the door at the bottom left. Old Store Room Go all the way left, you'll have to jump some boxes. Set a C4 by the cracked wall. Go through the hole you just made and things will start to look strange. When you talk to Otacon you'll get the classic MGS meta stuff. Go right until you find the exit. Engineering Your back in engineering but on the other side of the glass. Head to the right, watch out for the trip bomb. It has two control boxes. Defuse it and head right until you get to the exit. Hanger Access You have to take out the two terrorists Try to keep the boxes between you and the rear terrorist while you shoot at the fore terrorist. Head out the back and take the elevator up. *This is a point of no return, so if you want to grab items or finish the bug hunt, do that before getting on the elevator. *Big plot twist* METAL GEAR Hanger Now you will have the penultimate fight atop the Metal Gear. Well, the Boss (doesn't even get an interesting name) is running around with a chaingun on top of the Metal Gear, Snake's running around the scaffolding. There are plenty of items around if you are low on anything. To the far right is a ration. All the items will respawn throughout the fight. If you are going for a stamina kill, head down from the elevator and hide behind the 3 boxes in the L shape. If you are going for the lethal kill, head to the far right and hide behind the boxes there. Wait until his gun jams. He'll start having yellow sparks fall out of his gun, then it will jam. Also there is a red bar under his health and stamina bars. When it gets full his gun will jam. You know he's jammed when it starts slowly going down. Otacon will tell you this a great time to attack, which it is. Shoot him with your weapon of choice, he will start to flash at which point he won't take anymore damage. Hide and repeat. Throwing chaffs will make his gun jam up about twice as fast. Eventually there will be a cutscene where a terrorist comes in on the catwalk above the boss. If you are going for the stamina kill and hiding by the elevator you can ignore him and just keep the boxes as cover. If you are going lethal, you can take him out fairly easily with the FA-MAS or Nikita. New terrorist will come in every so often. After taking the bosses health down some more a cut scene will trigger where he starts blowing up boxes. The room will start glitching and showing it's VR background. On no kill runs, I head down the stairs and hide by the one metal box there. It provides better cover from both Boss and the terrorist up on the catwalk. Also it's close the the ammo. Kill the boss and watch the cutscene. *** III.
