It's a standard game for so many old T-Mobile Samsung phones yet not many have even touched it. I take the step forward and create the first known FAQ for this game. Space War is not what it seems to be. There is not shooting, killing, or anything like that. It is a strategy to create maps by boxing areas without crashing into enemies, or them crashing into your lines. It's challenging and a real thinker; a game which can make those young ignorant ones' brains explode into a million pieces. Although the concept is simple, the game is not. I will provide all the steps necessary for you to accomplish the task of finishing your mission. That it, beating the game. There are no spoilers in the game and practically no story, so this guide probably won't kill the game for you. CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC - (2.0) Basics - CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC As said in the introduction, the concept of the game is simple. There are 10 levels in the game, each with a different picture. The picture is shown at the beginning of the game. This is your map. You must complete it. To complete the map, all you have to do is move. When you start moving, a line will appear, similar to the cloud thingies that you sometimes see from airplanes in the sky. You can't let any of the other things touch you or that line. Create a box by connecting that line into a wall or another part what's covered in the map. After doing so, the area of the box will turn into a piece of the map. Whatever enemies are inside the area will be destroyed which is great. Once the entire map is revealed, you move onto the next level. The next level will have more enemies, sometime newer and more annoying. Keep completing the map to beat the game. Sometimes, if you are lucky, you will get a powerup. These are always very, very helpful. At the top of your screen, you will see three sections. The one on the left is the number of lives that you have. After 0, you lose and must start the LEVEL all over again. You can continue as many times as you want and you won't lose points! I don't know if this is a glitch or not, I'm assuming that it is. The middle section is the map. The more map covered, the higher the bar gets. The section on the right is your score. You get a higher score by covering large sections of the map and by defeating enemies. So, now here comes the controls: +---------------------------------------------------------+ | Button | Effect | |---------------------------------------------------------| | Green Phone | Skips introductory screens. | | Red Phone | Quits Game. | | Directional Buttons | Moves ship. | | 5 | Stops ship. | | 2 | Moves ship up. | | 4 | Moves ship left. | | 6 | Moves ship right. | | 8 | Moves ship down. | +---------------------------------------------------------+ To see if you have the game, just go to your menu and to the Funbox. Select Space War to play. Press 1 to start a new game, 2 for High Score information, 3 for Key Information(Controls), and 4 to continue a game. You can only continue one game. The game is saved automatically, but you lose the save file if you turn off the phone. CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC - (3.0) Walkthrough - CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC Level 1 ------- Gah, this is so easy. Very, very simple. There are four red enemies and one blue one. The reds are excuriatingly slow. The blue may shift from fast to slow and viceversa whenever it hits a wall. Cut through the slow reds and create boxes around them to get them out of the way. It's simple enough, a child can beat this. Level 2 ------- This map shows a little jet thing. Interesting. Anyway, this is the same as the last level except with one extra blue. Take out the red first if you can. If you're not confident in your skill with this, just continue finding small portions of the map. It's still easy to take care of in close quarters. Taking out the blue is quite an achievement and can make this level a whole lot easier, not that it's hard to begin with. Level 3 ------- Now this begins to show a challenge. There are only 2 red in this area and /4/ blues. A new enemy shows its face as well, a little slimy thingy that I'll refer to as light blue. This enemy can change directions as it moves so be very wary of it. Then again, it's not that fast so if you can create a map on it and destroy it, that'll be very handy. Just continue with your strategy or creating medium sized portions of the map. Level 4 ------- This level is a map of what appears to be a planet with mountains and a green sky. There are two light blue enemies here, two reds, and two blues. There are also new enemies; I'll refer to them as orange. These can move quickly and teleport. They're tough and annoying. This level still isn't /too/ hard, but a definite step up from the other levels. You still don't need some serious strategy to beat the level. Level 5 ------- A challenge with four light blue enemies, one orange, two reds, and two blues. There are more enemies here than in any level that you have faced so far and they are also much harder. This level can be difficult without a special strategy. Here's what you can do: HALFLINE STRATEGY ----------------- This is the strategy that I use to beat all of the higher levels. What you do is that you stop halfway at the top of the screen. Make a very narrow strip of the map. Watch out for any enemies nearby and continue making small pieces of the map going downwards. This is an excellent strategy because not only does it prevent from losing lives, you can defeat multiple enemies in just one shot! Once you can touch the other end of the map, then all the enemies at one side of the screen will be eliminated! If it's near the middle, you can't really tell which side will turn into the map so just try to make the enemies on both sides equal. Once half of the enemies are gone, that'll make beating the level so much easier! Half the work would also already have been done. Example: +---------------------------+ | * [] | | [] * | +---------------------+ | [] | | KEY | | * * [] | | [] - A map piece | | [] * * | | X - You | | * [] | | * - Enemy | | [] * | +---------------------+ | [] | | * * [] * | | [] | | X | | | +---------------------------+ From the X, just move down to the bottom of the screen. Either everything on the left side of the strip or map or everything on the right will disappear taking any enemies with it. TRAPS STRATEGY -------------- This strategy isn't quite as great as the other one, but it works. Go to the side of the screen near the middle and create a narrow strip of map that leads towards the middle. Now go to the top side of the screen near the center and make a small strip of map going down towards the middle, but NOT COLLIDING WITH YOUR OTHER PIECE. Wait for some enemies to fly into the box. Once you have a sufficient amount of enemies inside your "trap", close the two map pieces by connecting it. This will finish one quarter of the stage and defeat a decent amount of enemies. You can also do this with the middle of the bottom side of the screen and the remaining side. Example: +---------------------------+ | * [] | | [] * | +---------------------+ | [] | | KEY | | * * [] | | [] - A map piece | |[][][][][]X * * | | X - You | | * | | * - Enemy | | * | +---------------------+ | | | * * * | | | | | | | +---------------------------+ Wait for more enemies to go into your "trap." Close it off when you have a lot in there, but be careful not to get hit. This strategy is for the patient people. Use any strategy that you wish to beat the level. It should be very easy with the strategies since there aren't many enemies compared to the higher levels. Level 6 ------- ARGH! Now this level is near impossible to beat without one of the above strategies. The map seems like a picture of...maybe a comet? Who knows. Who care when you have two orange enemies, four blues, and four light blue enemies to take care of. These seem to move pretty fast. Start making use of that strategy. Level 7 ------- The map for this level is strange. It looks like...an upside-down mountain. Anyway, not much has changed from this level. It might actually seem a bit easier. Two red enemies have returned. There are four blues, four light blues, and only one orange. Use the same strategies as before; it's not too hard if you are skilled. Level 8 ------- A bit more difficult than Level 7. The map is of something that looks like an awkward planet or comet. There are four red enemies, two orange, four blue, and four light blue. Again, use the same strategies as before. As a tip, if you get a Speed Down from here on, the red enemies will stop entirely! Handy, eh? Level 9 ------- This level has the coolest map; it appears to be a galaxy or universe. There are /five/ red enemies, four blue, two light blue, and 2 orange ones. The army of enemies is growing to an enormous number, but the difficulty has rarely changed. For any hopes of beating this level, you can't just sit there and not destroy enemies. Level 10 -------- This is the final level. The map is another planet, but this one is different and much closer. There are 6 red enemies, 4 blue ones, 2 light blues, and 2 oranges. Don't worry, 14 enemies is actually much less than it seems. :) If you follow the halfline strategy, then it shouldn't matter how many enemies there are because you can eliminate a whole bunch at a time automatically. Good luck and enjoy the five second ending! CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC - (4.0) Enemy/Power Up Listing - CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC There aren't that many enemies that appear on the screen. Actually, there are only four. Here's a list of them and what they do: Enemies: ======== Red --- These are the easiest, most basic things. They float around very slowly in a diagonal pattern. When a Speed Down bonus appears, then they stop moving completely. Blue ---- These can move from the speed of a red enemy to something much faster. When it has the two radar things around it, then its speed will be slow. After hitting a wall, the speed will be boosted rapidly and it will turn into a ball. Light Blue ---------- These can move vertically, horizantally, and diagonally. They can start moving backwards all of a sudden and really screw up your path. Orange ------ These randomly teleport across the screen. They can usually move horizontally and vertically, but I've seen some move diagonally. They sometimes teleport on a map piece and disappear for a while. Power Ups: ========== Speed Down ---------- This does not speed you down, it makes the enemies on the screen move much slower. The red ones will stop completely. Speed Up -------- This doubles your speed. You can move across the screen much quicker. Life Up ------- Pretty obvious, you gain a life. CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC - (5.0) Glitches - CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC There are a few glitches in this simple game. They're not really all that helpful, but hey, they're something. 1. Sometimes, the orange foes can teleport straight into a part of the map that you completed. They'll disappear until they decide to teleport again. You can complete the map when they're not there though. 2. After getting a bonus, the noise made will still go until a few times afterwards. I'm not sure if this is a glitch, but it seems like one. 3. I'm not sure if this is on all phones, but my game does not save the high score properly after 30,000. CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC - (6.0) FAQ - CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC Q: What phones is this game on? A: I know nothing about phones and model numbers. All I know is that most old Samsung models should have it free. Q: Can I download this? A: Again, I don't know. You'd have to look that one up yourself.
