As it is, PT(Pandora Tomorrow) is a smash hit too. The game has been successfully ported to the mobile platform with the same memorable gameplay elements that proved successful two times over. Thats quite an achievement. The game has been developed by the Montreal arm of Ubisoft, the same company responsible for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Rayman 3, two other blockbuster titles. These two games have also been successfully ported to the mobile platform, all under 200 KB. PT comes in at 192 KB. I have played this game on my father's Nokia 6600, an excellent phone if I may say so myself. Splinter Cell is based on the theory that if you provide a single soldier with all the weapons and technology normally provided to an army, you drastically improve your chances of a covert operation. In this case, the less the better. Third Echelon is a secret Government Organisation, which controls the deployment of these 'splinter cells', individuals who are highly trained in the lethal art of silent killing and movement. Sam Fisher, the hero of this series, is one such Splinter Cell. Don't for a moment think that this is going to be your average Third Person Shooter. This is a game more along the lines of Thief: The Dark Project and Thief II: The Metal Age. I don't know if this makes a difference, but The Splinter Cell I downloaded is version 1.0.6. I will add my fastest times and best scores for the levels later. It takes a lot of focus and determination as a single mistake means I have to restart the entire level. 2.0 CONTROLS -------------- These are the various buttons used to control Sam Fisher. 4 and 6 :==: Move Fisher left and right respectively 2 and 4 :==: Stand and Crouch respectively 1, 3, 7 and 9 :==: Aim instantly at 45 degree angles 5 :==: Shoot 0 :==: Draw weapon with laser 2.1 MOVES ----------- As in the PC version, Sam has a variety of moves at his disposal. Hold 4 or 6 :==: Run in the respective direction 2 :==: Stand if crouching, jump if standing, raise laser if aiming, climb ladder, force retinal scan, hide in niches 8 :==: crouch if standing, lower laser if aiming, descend ladder, drop body, roll if running, emerge from niches 5 :==: Grab enemy if facing his rear, KO(knockout) if already holding enemy Double tap 4 or 6 :==: Roll if crouching, Throw enemy if holding 4 or 6 :==: Jump down if at the edge of a ledge (Sam automatically grabs any further ledges) 2.2 TIPS ---------- * Stay in the shadows. Needless to say, your overall rating is increased the more you hide. * Running is faster than jumping. If you are trying to get away from some place fast, then running is a better option than jumpin. * Always crouch when entering a new screen. That way, there's a smaller chance you'll get spotted if a guard happens to look in your direction. * If you are in shadow, you are INVISIBLE. I can't emphasize this enough. No one can see you unless the Alarm is ringing. * If you leap down from a ledge, or jump from a height onto a guard he gets knocked out. * Jump-swing is what happens if you jump from a distance onto a ledge, with some space underneath. Sam grabs the ledge, but swings his leg viciously. This again, is useful in knockin' those guards out. * If you are descending a ladder, then just tap 4 or 6 and Sam drops down the length of the ladder and faces the direction you tapped. This is useful 'cos there is no fall damage in PT. 2.3 ALARMS ------------ The alarm bar shown on the top-centre of the screen is useful in guaging the current alarm status of the guards. Every 'noisy' act you perform, causes the bar to increase. When this bar hits maximum it does *not* ring the Alarm. Subsequent 'noisy' acts you perform will set it off. NOTE: There is no way to reduce the alarm bar at all. So take it easy. Now, if you observe the alarm bar, you will notice that creating noise, makes a thin, red line start to stretch from the current alarm status to the end. This means you are being detected. If you are fast enough you can immediately duck/roll/hide preventing this red line from reaching maximum. This is used if you are spotted by a guard, motion sensor or a video cam. Think of it as a reaction time. If you are fast, you can avoid detection by hiding immediately. If this bar reaches maximum, the Alarm is set off. NOTE: The thin red line is an instant alarm ringer. Be wary. Newbies wont have time to see the line before they get blasted. The alarm bar on the other hand, is a gradual ringer, but can never be reduced. Cool huh? If the alarm is rung, the Alarm bar glows bright red and the thin red line slowly travels back to the beggining of the bar. This is the alarm cooldown and allows you to hide, while the alarm is reset. NOTE: Even after the thin red line reaches the beginning of the bar, the alarm bar is not reset. When the alarm is active, all guards can see you, even in the shadows. The only way to hide is to duck behind some crates or some such thing. STAY OUTTA THEIR VIEW. All it takes is 3 shots and Sam is history. In the alarm status, guards take two bullet shots to die *UNLESS* you hit 'em in the head *AND* they are not looking. Otherwise, in a non-alarm situation, even shooting them in the toe kills them in one shot. Destroying Motion Sensors and Video Cams causes the alarm to be rung INSTANTLY. The various 'noisy' acts include : * Jumping/Dropping into water. * KO-ing a guard. * Throwing a guard around. * Discharging your firearm. (Sounds cool huh? 'Shooting' for the idiots.) * Killing a guard in any way, shape or form. * Setting off explosives in the presence of a guard. I think these are all, but there may be some more. 3.0 MISSIONS -------------- ------------------------------- | 3.1 MISSION 1: | | EAST TIMOR, INDONESIAN JUNGLE | ------------------------------- Run across the first screen. Climb over the crates in the second screen. Move to the next screen. Here, climb up the ledge (Don`t worry, the guard cannot see you in the shadows, even if he is in front of you or on top of you!) Wait till he turns his back on you and then walk behind him to the other shadowed area. Just walk on out of the screen, you don`t even have to kill him! Leap across the chasm, by walking to the edge and pressing up. Sam bridges the chasm without breaking into a sweat. The next screen is slightly tricky. Your first 'stun' comes here. First, at the edge, tap forward to get into the water. Duck down and roll under the pile of crates. When you come right in front of the ledge on which the guard is standing, stand up. Now, when he looks the other way, climb out of the water and grab him. Drop him into the water. At the edge of the ledge, tap forward to leap on the unsuspecting guard below. Drop his body in the shade, ignore the guy on top and continue. Now, Wait for the guard to turn the other way. With two leaps, you can clear the mines and avoid an encounter with the guy. One leap gets you on the crate and the other gets you over the mine. A few steps more and you are back in the shadows. For the next screen,do what the game tells you, draw your weapon by pressing 0 and then aim and shoot at the light. Then, you can shoot it out and proceed. In the next screen, jump up on the crate and turn back to face the way you entered. Jump again and Sam will grab a ledge above you. Climb up and then, leap across to get on the ledge above the sleeping guard. Run onward and hooray!! you just finished your first mission. Rest assured though, the rest will not be as easy as this one. My fastest time in this level is 49 seconds. My highest score is 1129 -------------------------------------- | 3.2 MISSION 2: | |EAST TIMOR, NEAR THE PERANCAK VILLAGE | -------------------------------------- Grab and knockout the guy in front of you. Go ahead now. In this screen, you have to get both the guys here. Climb up the ladder and grab the guy. KO him. This will ensure a lower score. Drop him off the ledge and watch the fireworks. Goto the next screen. Up the ladder again, draw your weapon and aim at any one of the mines. Shoot to set them off in a chain-like fashion. Jump down and continue. In the next screen, walk upto the ledge and wait. The moment the guard turns his back, upsy-daisy. Walk to the door and press up to hide. Wait for the guard to cross you again and immediately pop out. Run across the screen. The next screen is easy. All you have to do is jump at the edge and shimmy across. Press down finally to drop and grab onto the ledge and proceed. Wait for the guard to walk up to the crates, and *then* jump up onto the crates. Wait till he starts walking again, and jump down. Follow him to the other end and cross the screen. Be careful now, the next screen requires some tricky timing. First, roll under the crates and come to the shadowy area under the guy on top. I`ll refer to this place as a niche. When the guy on top looks the other way *and* the guy ahead looks the other way, jump onto the first ledge and grab the guy. Send him flyin` down the ledge into your niche. If you are quick enough (get on the ledge the moment, the first guy looks away because the guy ontop *cannot* see you at the edge of the ledge.), leap up immediately and grab the other guy. Then, throw him outta your way and proceed. Next screen looks difficult but its actually very easy. Walk up to the edge. Wait for the guy below you to look away and jump. That should take you across the pool and KO the other guy. Drop immediately and run to the next screen. Roll under the guy in the window, you know what happens if he sees you. Ignore the guy on top, he`s there only there to tempt you. Goto the next screen. Climb up the ladder, but don`t go all the way. Wait for the machine gun to look the other way and get up. Run all the way to the edge and press forward. You will leap down and KO the guard. Walk to the next screen. Easy again, just wait till the gun looks away, climb up, KO the guy and wait. Again, when the gun looks away, jump down and run for all your life`s worth. Take out the guy in the next screen and drop him into the water. Jump across and climb up. Now, wait till the guy below you looks away and from the edge, jump-swing to KO the guy at the other end of the screen. Don`t wait and get down, just pull yourself up and continue. Final screen! Move to the edge and wait for the guy on top to turn away. Jump, to land just behind the guy below. KO him and the missions finished!! My fastest time on this level is 1 minute, 35 seconds My highest score is 973 ------------------------------- | 3.3 MISSION 3: | | EAST TIMOR, PERANCAK VILLAGE | ------------------------------- Walk ahead and jump over the mine. In the next screen, crouch under the window and sneak over to the next mine. Stand and jump over. Ignore the guy on top. Get to the edge of the ledge and enter the water. Quickly roll under the crates and climb up on the other side. Run for your life! When the machine gun turns away, climb up the ladder and KO the guy there. Now, wait at the crates. When guard turns to walk away, climb up. Jump-swing to KO the guy. Run to the next screen. Pull yourself up immediately, since a guy will come zipping down the ladder. Wait for him to walk under you, leap down and KO him. Climb up the laddder. Mantle up the first set of crates and jump onto the second but don't pull yourself up yet. Wait till the guard looks away and then climb up. Hope onto his crate and KO him. Don't throw him anywhere though, you need him for the next screen. Drag him to the next screen and toss him into the mines to destroy them. Jump down after him, and roll under the crates. At the next screen, reach the gap and stand. Jump and hang. When the guard looks away, climb up and then jump swing to KO him. Crouch and enter the next screen. When the guard turns away, get up the crate, down and roll to the next one. Wait for him to turn his back on you again and climb up, down and KO him. Roll ahead. Climb up on the set of crates and hang there. When the guard looks away, climb, hop and grab. Get down, and roll under the crates towards the left. Continue to the ladder there and climb down. Walk to the edge, and jump to the other side. When the guard turns his back, climb down and drop onto the pipe. Drop down again to enter the shadows in the water. Proceed to the next screen. Don't KO the guy, just climb up from the left side instead of the right. Up the ladder you go, grab the guy. KO him and then toss his body a little distance from the left extreme of the screen, into the mines. Jump down after him and continue. This screen is extremely tricky and requires good timing. First, when the guards are walking back climb upon the crate and get down immediately into the shadows. Wait till the guards return. When they reach their respective *left hand side* positions, jump once to land in a shadow again. Again wait. When they reach their respective *right hand side* positions jump again and walk off. In the next screen, walk right upto the edge of the shadow. Wait till the patrolling guard reaches you. The moment he turns around, grab him. Drag him into the shadows and then KO him, lest the guys manning the searchlights see you. Wait for them to turn away and then run across the screen. This is the last screen, and in my opinion one of the worst ones. You cannot cross this screen without causing an alarm. First, jump on the 1st crate. The alarm will go off. Crouch on the first crate itself and wait for the alarm to subside. Tap up to get up and immediately fire to kill the guy first. Jus like in the old west... yeeehaw!! Run across to the next screen and continue running to finish the level. 4.0 CREDITS ------------- Me - For writing this FAQ Ubisoft - For developing this awesome game, and then porting it beautifully 5.0 COPYRIGHT INFORMATION --------------------------- This document has been submitted ONLY to Gamefaqs - http://www.gamefaqs.com.
