Introduction [IN] --==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==-- We start off with a nice introduction from Middlet (http://www.midlet-review.com) This game is so similar to Nintendo GameBoy's Zelda that you might actually mistake both games for one and the same. The main difference between the 2 games is that the hero's name is 'Rento' instead of 'Link'. If you enjoyed Zelda then this game is definitely for you. It is so similar to Zelda that you could swear you were playing a GameBoy instead of a Nokia, albeit the controls. The game starts off with a short and simple storyline - your sister has been kidnapped and it is up to you to rescue her. You need to go around forests, towns and underground dungeons - talking to strangers, carrying out tasks and finding weapons and items to aid you along your quest to reach your ultimate goal. What can I say about this game is that allot of effort seems to have been put in the graphics department. Animations are fluid and smooth, backgrounds are lush and rich and character sprites move with realistic motions. Characters even have the anime look - complete with bigger heads than the rest of their bodies. You start off by walking around till you find villagers you can talk to. They will fill you in on the storyline as well as guide you to your next goal by giving you items or quests. This really helps with the storyline since you can interact with most of the animate objects in the game and a little popup in the corner will tell you if you need to converse with the object by showing a miniature dialogue box or a sword icon to show that they are your enemies. One of the more fun parts of the game is fighting. not only has it been simplified greatly but it works so well. All you have to do is face your opponent and select your weapon. Charge at him to injure him. If your back is turned to him he will successfully hurt you. Everything in the game is explained in the story mode as the game gives you subtle hints about what you need to do and how to do it. In the instance of fighting, your first fight will have a message box that teaches you the ins and outs of fighting. This goes for everything else in the game and you can tell how much effort the developers have put into the game's help system alone. This is one game I will recommend highly to anyone! This game has had me playing for hours on end. The only one flaw I've found in the game is the fact that when you die, you are not able to restart from your last save point but must restart the entire game. It has had me frustrated at times but its a minor price to pay for a game of this quality. Try this game and you definitely wont be disappointed. ---------------------------------- Details: ›Vibration: X ›Sound: O ›Highscore: X ›Help: O ›Multiplayer: X Please note that the above details may vary depending on your handset. Walkthrough [WT] --==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==-- The game begins as Rento tells you his mission. An evil darkness captured the cool air last night. The Pegasus Rider blazed across the sky from the mountains of Darkness and snatched my sister as she slept peacefully. The only way to the mountains and to my sister is through the magically sealed dungeon on the north west side of our village. I am her only hope. I must save her... Rento: Maybe some of my fellow villages know something about my sister? I have a map that I can use by pressing "#". It will be very helpful as I navigate through the valley. I can press '0' to browse my items and press '5' to use a selected item. You, Rento, start in an area with a house. You can't enter it but you can move to the right to explore the village. Rento carries a sword so when enemies attack you, you can fight them. In this next screen you see some people and houses. First let's talk to the people of the village to gather information. Neighbour: A wise old man lives in the south, behind the rocks. Maybe he can help you save your sister. Worried mother: Boo hoo! Please, find my child. (note that this is not your mother as you could think the 'child' could be your sister but it's not. It's another child, this is not required to advance in gameplay but is rather a side-quest.) Desperate girl: I want to get married but the only man who could possibly be my fiancée is the Valley Blacksmith, and... He doesn't like anyone! Boo hoo! Kid: Watch out for the Cyclops and the Red Demons! My father has seen them lurking near old man's hut and the gates to the Mountains of Darkness. (Note: Hmm this is good advice, be careful when going near those areas.) Kid: The sad lady's child likes to play near the nort west caves Blacksmith: Use the ladder to the south of our village to climb underground. Question the man there to discover the real legend of this valley. Now go away and stop disturbing me! Mira the Healer: You are a healthy boy and do not need my help! Now, if you go to the right and be careful for the enemies you see a ladder going down with an artifact, a mushroom. After taking the mushroom it's time to go to the Sword Master to learn a fighting technique. Directions to the Sword Master: First go north, then west, then south and down the ladder. Sword Master: Let me teach you an ancient fighting technique! May your sword be mightier in battle! Now take the magical healing plant, which is another artifact piece. Remember the old man people talked about? Well if you haven't gone to him yet, this is the right time to go. He's located in a dungeon that has access with the ladder one area south of the village center. Finbarr: Some time ago the Demon Lord called Devin terrorized the world. Four wizards banished Devin to a small valley and sealed way out. It is the legend of this valley but noone has ever seen the Demon Lord. Maybe Pegasos Rider has something to do with this legend? You got the magical plant you might as well go give it to Mendo who is locted south west of the village to advance in gameplay. Mendo: Urghhh! My belly!!! Find me the medicine plant that cures this illness and I'll reward you well! Hmm, a reward, that's sounds interesting ;) Let's give the poor man his plant so everyone is happy. Mendo: Thank you! Use this sledge hammer to break through any rocks that block the way in your quest to find your sister. Now for that other side-quest. Since you got the sledge you can break the rocks that are blocking the entrance to the caves in the north western part of the world. Clear the path and break the blocks, take the child with you and bring her to her mother in the village. She gives you roses as a reward. Now as we are busy making people happy we might as well give the roses to the desperate girl. Now go norht and free the other Sword Master. Who gives you a sword upgrade, so you got more power! Go south and destroy the blocks to continue. And guess what, indeed, Finbarr wasn't the old man, this guy is. Wise Old Man: I want to help you find your sister. We have to break the seal that keeps evil from the outer world away from our valley. The legend of a Demon Lord trapped here is nonsense. I need two gems, a silver ring and a mushroom to break the seal and open the gates to the Mountains of Darkness. We already got the mushroom so let's look for that silver ring! First of all go down the stairs and talk to another Sword Master. Next to him is a magical bow. After collecting the bow head east and work your way through the mini maze and go down the ladder. >.> another Sword Master and a green gem! Give it to the old man and let's find that ring! Go back to the maze but instead of going east, go north. Here's another stair, inside a Sword Master and a red gem. Give the red gem to the old man. Ah so you still didn't find the ring? Or already have it? Go to the blacksmith and give him the magical bow, now talk to the girl and they'll give you the ring. Now head to the old wise man, he tells you to go to the gate in the north east Wise Old Man: I'll seal the gate after you and open it again when you return. Once you go in you cannot go out again! Follow the path and a demon will appear, kill it and continue. When the path splits in a fork shape, follow the right path. There, another enemy will try to kill you. Rento: Finally here - at the top of the Mountain of Darkness! This looks like the castle of the Pegasos Rider who took my sister. There's my syster with a noble knight! I wonder why she's so calm. Maybe I should go and talk to her before I try to find and slay down the notorious Pegasos Rider... Sister: Oh Rento! Thank you for trying to help me but the knight here came to save me with Pegasos! He was going to come for you next but he cannot fly during the day because the Demon Lord might see and capture him! The wise old man is the Demon Lord himself! Knight: I'm the one they call the Pegasos Rider. You're really brave but now we're in great danger! The Demon Lord has found the hidden artifacts needed to summon the demons and break open the sealed gate. Rento: Uh oh... What will happen to my fellow villagers? Knight: The Demon Lord has captured them and is going to turn them into demons! We have to save the villagers and gather four wise men to magically seal the gate again. ...... ... .... Um.. oh yeah it seems the game ends here. I know, too bad but get Fantasy Warrior II and continue the game! - The End - --==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==-- 05.
