This was the first game I bought for my iPhone 3GS right after I got one for the first time. I was blown away by what was possible on a phone. This game was good fun and was very cheap. If you don't own it check it out in the app store! Please email me corrections and comments. I love getting feedback for my FAQs. The contact section is at the end of the FAQ. Version History 1.0: 20th May 2010: First version, everything beside Mafia missions and Falcons tough racing missions done. Missing a few mission names. 1.1 30th June 2010: Added Mafia missions fixed typos and fixed missing names except for one! 1.2.1: 20th June 2011: Fixed a stack of typos. Wow. General tips Because of the games weirdo physics cars are impossible to tip over. You can crash as hard as you like or get as much air as you want; it just doesn't happen. This lets you drive without fear of wrecking your car all the time like in GTA. You can pick up any items while in a car. This is handy, as you collect money and weapons from people as you run them over and you can drive over medkits and armour to heal yourself without exposing yourself by getting out of the car. The richest people are gang members: they have no shirt, tattoos and carry guns. Run them over or shoot them and they usually drop $79 rather than the usual $29 or $49 from most peds. Gunshots stun enemies. This makes it easy to kill even tough enemies with weak guns like the pistol because each bullet will make them flinch so you can shoot them again and again, keeping them stuck in their stun animations until they die or you have to reload. The vast majority will die long before you need to reload however. Don't try to ram opponents during race missions. The game obviously cheats when it comes to their physics, as they will just continue on their path and you'll just bounce off them, even if you try to P.I.T them like in GTA. Focus on avoiding collisions with racers and just cleanly passing them instead. Cops in Gangstar are pathetic compared to GTA style cops. Even at maximum wanted level you only encounter basic beat cops with pistols. They are slow firing and inaccurate and only 1 or 2 cops will come after you at once. At higher wanted levels cops spawn more often, especially behind you and you get cop cars after you a lot more. Cops are most annoying when you are in a car, as they are fast and constantly bump you into walls or cut you off. You can bribe cops directly from the pause menu to get them off you back instantly, but it costs $1500 a star. Weapons There aren't really any surprises in Gangstar's weapons. It has the basic firearms you'd expect for any good GTA. The pistols and SMGs can be dual wielded. This makes them much more powerful. Fists: Your plain old fists. You always have these obviously. Pedro can punch very quickly and you can knock someone down very quickly. When they are down you can kick them. It takes quite a few kicks to kill tougher guys like gangsters and mission targets, so be prepared to really mash on the attack button until they don't get up Pistol: The basic gat. It is semi auto and you must tap the trigger every time you want to fire. It fires about once every second and takes about 4 shots to kill somebody. Its fine for killing peds, single cops and gangsters as the bullet hits will stun them continuously as long as you fire quickly, but use a better weapon when you're against a group. Machine Pistol: The machine pistol is a full auto SMG. You can just hold down the trigger to spray bullets. The multiple bullet hits stun enemies and prevent them firing back and it can drop enemies quite quickly, although it doesn't have the punch of the assault rifle. Assault Rifle: This AK-47 drops enemies real quick and has a large clip with a long range, so you can pick guys off before they can fire back. This is the best weapon in the game for dropping enemies and, with the auto acquire function you can take out armies of enemies in seconds. Sniper Rifle: The sniper rifle is quite useful as it is semi auto and fires quickly. Zoom in by reverse pinching the screen after you tap the crosshair button. One shot anywhere on the body should kill all enemies. RPG: The RPG is only used once in Gangstar's missions, but you can buy it from weapon shops. It annihilates cars and can kill groups of enemies on foot. The rocket has travel time, so aim ahead of moving cars. Walkthrough Gangstar is quite linear and you'll usually only have once crime boss to work for at a time. 1: No One Walks In LA This first mission in the game is just a tutorial. Just watch the cutscene and then jack the car marked by tapping the car icon when you're near it. Drink to the blip. When you get there a thug hassles you, so tap him to target him and them mash the attack icon to pummel him. When he hits the deck, kick him repeatedly until he dies and you'll learn where you friend LC is and finish the mission. L.C. ----- LC is your first contact and old friend of Pedro and Juan. 2: A Day at the Beach Take L.C.s nice ride (Homm) and head to the spot on your radar that's at the beach. When Lil' T gets in he tells you that its time to grab some guns and I'm sure you couldn't agree more. Head to the Bullet Time (hah) shop down the street. When you get to the shop you'll be shown how to buy stuff. You should have enough for some armour and a pistol, so grab them and first aid if you need it. Then head back to L.C.'s 3: Los Locos Muertos Drive L.C. to the marker and you'll be asked to follow some gang members to see what they are up to. Do this by staying a medium distance away from them. You have to get very close for them to be spooked and you can't get that far away either. So walk slowly behind them by tilting the stick gently stoping when you enter the orange part of the bar. It's only a short distance. After the cutscene head up the marked stairs, get the medkit if you need it and then move to the other marker. At the top Pedro will call LC Seems the Muertos are on your turf! Head back down the stairs to the marker and you'll be attacked by some gang members. Even though it says to "beat them up" feel free to shoot them full of holes. Mission complete! Message in a Barrel ($300) LC says he found the punk who stole Lil T's car and wants you to "send him a message" and it isn't hand painted calligraphy. Drive to the beach and you'll see the guy out in the open with a pistol. He's slow and inaccurate with his pistol; so run him over or get out and shoot him. Another guy in a car will drive up. Even though the game says to escape the intruders, simply shoot the new guy and the mission's done. Much better than a dumb chase. Dirty Deeds ($400) This mission couldn't be easier. Just get in LCs car, drive to the marker. Once there you'll meet three rival gangers and LC acts in his typical way and starts a fight. Both LC and Juan are unarmed so they will run up and start beating down a guy or two. Just draw your gun and fill them with lead. Mission done. Wipe Out ($500) Easy. Just drive to the basketball count and stop in the marker. When the enemy gangsters appear you'll be told how to drive by, but since you can shoot from anywhere in this game you can just rotate the camera, tap one of the gangers and start shooting, letting auto acquire target switch for you. In seconds they will be dead and you can move on. El Toro's Whip ($750) LC wants you to get a nice care for the bossman, so head to the junkyard and kill the useless thugs in your way, get in the car and three more show up. Shoot them all from your car. After you drive along the road a bit, you'll be told you need to repair the car so you don't deliver a bullethole filled piece of crap. Drive to the repair station and annoyingly you'll be charged more than the mission reward: probably about $1400, so make sure you have the cash. Afterwards just drive it back; oddly it doesn't matter if you smash the car up on the way back after fixing it. El Toro ----- El Toro seems to be some high up man in LC's gang. In Da Club ($850) Time for an inevitable rescue mission. Right after the mission cutscene there's a medpack to your left if you need it. Drive to the marker and rather than just finding out stuff at the nightclub you'll see three losers with Latisha, the girl you're saving. She sees you and runs to you, starting a fight. Shoot the guys, and then easily kill the ones that come out of the door. After this you have to drive Latisha home, but first get out of the car and get the medpack, ammo and cash left by the dead guys. Drive her home, no one will bother you and you're done. Slingin' Bling ($1000) This mission a bit different Take the van and you'll be told to go to the beach. Go there and you'll sell off the knockoffs without any problems. Next head north a bit to north block where you'll have to watch the van. You'll see a pair of gangsters who haven't even noticed you yet, so cap them. Again get out of the van to get the loot from the dead guys before leaving. Next delivery the cops show up, so grab the bribe in the grassy field. Ignore the one to the north, as it's on top of the bridge, instead head further north and you'll find another bribe in another grassy field. Now the police have pissed off, go to see the last VIP customer and you'll find out its Latisha. After the scene the mission ends. $1000 not bad. Street Cleaning ($1250) There are lots of gangbangers dealing on you turf and El Toro wants them gone. Get in his car (the one you previously stole for him) and head over to the first group of three gangers. Waste them without even getting out and then head over to the other two groups of three. They only have pistols, so they should barely be able to scratch your car but, if it gets damaged drop by the car repair shop, as if it blows you fail. Elimination ($1500) Before you start this mission pick up some armour and an AK-47, smg ammo and pistol ammo. You only really need the AK, but you should have loads of money by now so invest in lots of guns and a tougher skin. Anyway head to the spot and you'll engage four guys at close range with not much cover, hence the rifle/armour. Cap them from where you start and more show up. Kill the ones in front quick because there are guys flanking you from the gate. Your rifle will shred these guys. Toro still manages to get himself wounded so drive him to Latisha's house. A largely incomprehensible cutscene takes place and then the mission is done. After this mission you'll compete chapter 1 and get an achievement. Congrats! Latisha Latisha is just some random hood rat you meet. Fast Love ($2500) Gah. A race mission. Thankfully these aren't even nearly as annoying as GTA's race missions are, mainly because the guy you're racing is usually really darn slow. Even if you crash a few times you can catch up to him very easily. Remember that your car can't flip and that it's nigh on impossible to go over the guardrail, so keep driving as fast as possible when you race along the waterside highway and you should easily win. Rough Up The Loser ($1500) Some guy has roughed up Latisha so its time to go rough up the oddly named Tiny Pin. Head over to the marker and you'll see TP and two unarmed goons. You'll be forced to use your fists for this, so make sure you have full health, since punches ignore armour. Beat up the thugs with Juan's help and Pin will run into the restaurant. Target his car by tapping it like a person (something you can't do in GTA) and shoot it until it blows up. Tiny Pin will emerge, enraged and will start shooting at you. Knock out his two thugs since you're limited to fists again and ignore Tiny Pin until they are dead, as he's a lousy shot and not very dangerous. When they are dead, just run up to pin and wail on him to finish the mission. Saving Latisha ($1500) Tiny Pin apparently doesn't listen and roughed up Tisha again, so now it's time for him to die. Take a car and head to the marker. Pin will take off, but he's very slow and the idea is to follow him but not too close so he's spooked or far away so that you lose him. He's very slow and it's a short drive so this should be easy. When he gets to his destination he will get out of his car alone and try to shoot you with his slow poorly aimed pistol shots. Shoot him and end his shame. Banking on it ($5000) This has to be the simplest bank robbery ever! Just drive to the bank, wait till Dilla's finished cashing in and you'll get a three star wanted level. Drive around the bank and get the bribe in the back yard, keep going straight and get the one across the street and then go and get one of the ones between the building in front of you. The cops are very tame so they shouldn't bother you. After you lose them drive everyone home. Easiest $5000 ever! Thugs With Guns ($1800) Make sure you are tooled up for this mission with armour, a rifle and lots of ammo: 200-300 bullets. Dilla wants to pilfer a payload of arms from Little King, a guy that's known to have a pile of them. Your job is to create a diversion; that is to say stand outside and shoot everyone with an AK until the entire beach is covered in blood and stinking innards. There isn't much to say about this mission, just shoot the guys, turn around and shoot those guys and so on until you win. Watch out for the unarmed guys that try to rush in to distract you. As long as you have a rifle and aim quickly no one should even get close. Easy. Burger Banger ($500) There's a reason a mission this late is only worth $500: its piss easy! Dilla gives you a RPG (oh yes!) and tells you to go blow up the Locos at the fast food place. Jack a car, go there and you'll be told to blow up all the cars in the parking lot. The RPG has a huge range, so just stand there tap the cars and blast them to pieces one by one. When they are all burning wreckage, the Locos will unwisely come out of the restaurant and aim guns at you. Simply target the middle guy and blow them into fleshy bits. And that ends the mission; you don't even get a wanted level for destroying stuff with a RPG in the middle of L.A.! Leatherface Butcher ($2000) Dilla wants you to go deliver some "Party Favours" to somebody called the Leatherface Butcher. Hmm. Drive over there and when you arrive watch the funny scene where Juan gets pickpocketed and then dropped like a bag of rocks by a granny! Proceed into the maze. I won't worry about telling you which way to go as you see granny running away to guide you and there aren't really many dead ends. Once you reach the centre you find out that she is unsurprisingly the Leatherface Butcher, which is the coolest name for a granny ever! Run to the Hills ($5000) This is another mission you should have full health, an AK and armour for. This mission has a noble cause: killing off a scumbag snitch! Head to the marker and you'll find a sniper rifle at the top of the rubble pile you must climb. But wait a minute it looks like somebody familiar is over there Its Latisha! She's been selling you out the whole time. Despite his misgivings Pedro knows she must be eliminated. Zoom in like the game tells you to and shoot her anywhere; the bullet will always kill her. If she's not visible, wait a sec and exit the scope; she walks around and may be behind objects, but she's easy to shoot. Afterwards Dilla thanks you for killing her as he couldn't bear to do it himself. Right after this gangers enter the yard and surround you. Dilla tries to stop the fighting by pointing out she's just a dirty snitch and she deserved to get popped. But sadly he gets shot. Poor guy. Afterwards Pedro and Juan somehow have enough time to talk and then shoot one of the guys before any others can fire. From there you'll have to wipe them all out. If you have a rifle and armour this should be quite easy. Once you shoot your way out you'll be told to escape, but if you want you can just go back in and kill off the last of them, this completes the mission too. A New Beginning ($0) No you don't get paid a cent for this mission, since it's simply to ingratiate yourself with Leatherface so she will help you out. Start by driving the limo to pick up the passengers while trying not to smash it up too much. The limo is huge, so be careful driving it. Once you have them you have to drive "well", this means drive at an average speed and don't hit anything. If the bar starts to move you know you're going too fast. Hey the activities going on in the back seat need stability! Once you're at the spot watch the weird cutscene. Now you have to get the friend back to his work quick. You don't have too long, so drive into the flood channel and use it to get uptown quick and them pop out of it back onto the road when you're near your destination. After you drop him off you need to drop off Alexis. You need to drive well again here and your limo has probably taken bit of a beating from the hectic drive so carefully drive her home. Finally that waste of time is over. ???? ($2500) This mission is different. You are given a camera and told to go take pictures of Senator Woolsey talking with a well-known black market dealer. Head to the spot and then go to the other side to get a hiding spot for the photos when the senator arrive, zoom in close by reverse pinching the screen, get them both in shot and take the pic. You get 30 seconds to take a good one so get a move on! Afterwards just head back to Butcher's. Winning it All ($2000) This is a fun mission! Go to the marker and knock out the bodyguard, you inexplicably cant use weapons. He has a shotgun so do it quick. Take the car and stop around the front in the marker. When Nikobi gets in you have to scare the crap out of him to fill a bar. Do this by driving really fast, crashing into everything, doing jumps and generally acting like a nutcase. When he's freaked out drive to the marker and you'll complete the mission. Room Service ($3000) Anyone else have flashbacks of "The Fuzz Ball" from GTA3 while doing this mission? This mission is simple but can be annoying if you aren't careful. You must drop off a limo full of hookers to their clients. There are 5 drop offs and you also have to drive "well", if you take too many knocks or drive too fast you will fail. You are again in a long unwieldy vehicle like In A New Beginning, so drive carefully, make sure to keep you speed average on the freeway and be careful at intersections. Stop The Press ($3000) Everyone hates the paparazzi, including this game apparently, as you can simply shoot them, even tho the game tells you to beat them down and you'll still finish the mission. The last guy even still talks despite the fact you shot him. This mission is very easy for this late in the game. The guys you have to kill are close together, they only have pistols, one has two bodyguards you can see from the ledge above them without them even reacting. Just find them, shoot them and return to the tower for the win. Gold Digger ($12,000) Whoa that's a big reward! And this mission is quite easy. If you want to make it even easier, make sure you have armour. Just drive to the bank and soon after the cops will arrive. Even though there are cops all over the place they aren't much of a threat in this game and unlike GTA you don't have followers who have to get in the car, so just run past the cops and their weak pistol bullets, get in a cop car and drive off as fast as possible. Collect the closest bribes; there are plenty in easy reach. Alternately, just pay to remove the wanted level in the services menu. Afterwards just drive The Tower back to his house. Mission done and you'll be well cashed up! Shop 'til you Drop ($0) Wow another $0 mission. Even though this mission is about spending your large pile of cash, you don't actually buy any new clothes. I hoped I'd finally change out of a ghetto singlet. Afterwards drive to the gold chains store and watch the scene where Juan gets shot for pretty much no reason. Shoot the thugs, if you like you can run out of the square and some will follow you, so you can fight them separately, though it should be easy. After this Juan gets seriously hurt, so drive him quickly to the gangsta hospital which is close by. Mission done and you've completed chapter 3! Now the scene shifts to a few weeks ago, before the game's start. These next few missions take place in the jail Pedro was in. Note that there is health between the seats on the north wall, so fill up between missions. Initiation ($0) Pedro wants to join one of the prison gangs for some protection and he has to prove himself by beating them up. The first guy is easy, just target him and beat him up, you should be able to get the first hits in since he doesn't run at you. The next guy is the same, except he attacks you. Next you have to fight two guys at once. Target one and punch him until he falls, then tap anywhere on the screen to untarget him then target the other guy and beat him until he falls. The first guy shouldn't have got up yet so kick the second guy as many times as you can, until the first guy gets up then target and knock him over again and so on until they are both dead. Next you have to run to the circle quickly, so run in there and then beat the last guy and you're done. Snatch & Grab($0) Time to ask politely where to find some wire cutters. You have to beat up three guys to find the location, so bash them and you'll find out two guys near the tables have them. Beat both of them up in the same way you dealt with the two in "Initiation" and then run over the marker. Now you'll have to get back to the bossman and you have other Kings after you. Head to the left and doge around them, don't stop to fight. As soon as you reach the marker, you're done. Gang War ($0) Cerrajo's in over his head so you have to save him from a group of Southern Kings. The first two guys are easy. You have Juan with you now so its 2vs1. Next are a few groups of two guys. Let Juan run in and start a fight first, so both of the members don't focus on you and then beat the other one up. When three come just beat one up while Juan does, the other one will go for Cerrajo, but he's quite tough and can take a beating before you fail the mission, so just finish off your guy as quickly as possible, then get the one beating Cerrajo. Juan can't die so don't worry about him. The Great Escape ($0) Time to get out of this hellhole! Start by beating up the King to rile up his friends, afterwards you'll have three kings right in front of you. Don't try to fight them and right away run left and dodge around them. This is hard as the guy on the left is also a King and if any of them hit you you'll be stopped and then beat up by all of them at once. This can take a few tries, but you only have to run a short distance. Once you're in the marker your gang will start a brawl with the other gang members and the guards will get called out. Run up to the guy near the door curving to the side as you run, don't run straight at him and beat him up as quickly as possible for his gun. After you get his pistol again run close enough to the snipers to shoot back with a curving path, strafing to the side as you close in on them. Shoot them both and then head to the marker and you're done with this flashback. Seems Juan didn't make it. Time for some payback! At this point in the game you have to pick a side: Yakuza or Mafia. Both chains will be here but the Mafia one will come next update since I have to play the whole game though again to the point to take the Mafia path, as it only has one save slot. YAKUZA The Yakuza are a Japanese gang with strong beliefs in loyally and honour. They are attempting to take the harbour from the Italian Mafia and need your help to do so. Move that Body ($2000) As the refreshingly non clichéd Yakuza boss says get the ambulance, its unguarded and parked so this is easy and then start driving it off, as you'll have no blip on your radar for a sec. Seconds later you'll have cops all over you so get the closest police bribes and then drive to the docks. Once there you'll be told to dispose of the ambulance, so get out and shoot it until it blows. Mission done. Raw Beef ($2500) Get a car and head down to the docks. When you get in the marker get out and walk along the boat, using your rifle to pick off the mafia. After you cross the gangplank watch out for two more guys around the comer and another with a shotgun. The prisoner is the man in blank on the tip of the boat, so don't shoot him! When you talk to him more guys will appear so blast them all, follow him to his car and get out of there. More Mafia types will show up, so drive by shoot them or just drive off as they are lousy shots. You'll get a wanted level, so collect some bribes them head back to Chinatown. Making the Rounds ($2500) This time you have to protect a Yakuza as you do drug deals. Head to the marker and three Mafiosi will attack. Kill them easily and head to the next marker. This time another three will attack from around a comer so move the camera till you can see one, target and shoot him with your rifle and then strafe out and plug his friends. When you turn around after taking their stuff you'll find another three so pop them quickly and head to the next marker. This one is a sting as you suddenly get a 5 badge wanted level! The police are crap in this game so just drive around collecting the many police bribes to lose it and then head back to Chinatown. Master of Chaos ($3000) Before this mission make sure you have armour, a lot of assault rifle bullets (300-400) and 8-10 RPG shells This mission is a pretty fun one. Your job is to get a lot of cops after you and lead them to the mafia to screw them over. Just drive to the marker and you'll find a Homm with a RPG in the back, although you should have plenty of ammo already. Now start aiming at the nearby traffic and start detonating cars with your RPG. The RPG rockets fly quite slowly, so aim at stationary cars if you are aiming as a distant one so you don't waste your rockets. When the cops arrive, either blow them up if you have RPG rockets left or shoot them. The cops will get a bit tougher as you climb in wanted level, but as long as you have a rifle and amour you should be able to pick them off quickly enough to prevent them hurting you. When you reach four badges, cops will start spawning behind you, so watch your back and sides. As soon as you hit six badges, get in the nearest car, even a cop one and head directly to the marker. Cops are a pain when you're trying to drive, so stay off of roads as much as possible and head to the marker quickly. When you get there you'll be told to lose your badges. Drive over the small rail bridge to make it hard for the cops to follow you and pick up some of the many bribes around to lose it. And you're done. Chum all over Chinatown ($3000) Hope you're good at driving... Your task this time is to steal a "device" from the Mafia, which is in a car. Head to the spot and you'll be shown the Mafia compound, complete with guards. Even though you're told that the place is full of guards, there are only about 5 and they are easily killed, so walk in there and cap them all. When you take the car you'll discover a nasty surprise: the device is an armed bomb! After the scene you have about 1 minute 40 seconds to deliver the car before you blow up. The secret to doing this mission easily is to get on the large freeway that spans the game's city and appears as a large thick white road on your map. Head straight out and turn right and keep going until you reach the onramp to the freeway. I can't remember exactly how you get to it but it's close to the mafia lockup. At any rate, just find the onramp. As soon as you get on the freeway just start driving at top speed east towards the marker. The car you in is extremely fast and handles well so you will cover the length of the entire city in less than a minute. When you reach the end of the freeway turn right and then drive directly into the docks and you're home free as the marker is very easy to spot. This mission is hard only if you take too long to get onto the freeway or get stuck in a crash with cars. I can finish it with more than 20 seconds left! Girls Back Home ($4000) Your job is to save some renegade hookers that have apparently struck out on their own rather than stay under the Yakuza's protective wing. Drive to the first marker and you'll find the girl with some random guy. Beat him up easily. At the next marker you'll see three guys harassing the girl and you'll call her over. The three men will then run around the comer to fire at you, making it exceedingly easy to wipe them out. The last stop is two cops with a girl and after you take her away they suddenly become a bit less crooked and call in a 4 badge wanted level. By this time your car's probably taken a beating, so I generally just use the "corruption" option to pay money to get rid of the stars. By this point in the game you'll have more cash than you ever need anyway! After this just drive them back and watch, as Pedro denies action with three cute Japanese girls. Wow. Falling off the Boat ($5000?) This time you must defend something very valuable from falling into Mafia hands. Drive to the boat and you'll see you old friend Akira, the guy you helped with the drug deals many mission ago is on lookout. He tells you that the Mafia is coming. Six Mafia will board the boat, three on each gangplank. Just stay where you are and shoot them down with your rifle. Note that despite what's said in this mission it doesn't really seem to matter if the Mafia board the boat. I've had them stay on it for about 20 seconds and I didn't fail. Next run to the stern of the boat and polish off the three guys coming from either side of the cabin. Next more of them, including two with sniper rifles arrive at the front. Unlike the guard towers in The Great Escape these snipers aren't accurate at all so just run down to the bow, shoot the guy blocking the steps, kill the snipers quick; they will murder you at close range became of the huge damage sniper bullets do and clean up the last guy. Mission done. It seems the Yakuza couldn't find Juan's killer, but at least they have a lead as to where you should start looking. MAFIA The Italian Mafia are your other choice for jobs and you'll be getting your jobs though Paulie Francone. Going south for a Goodfella ($2000) This misison is simple. Just drive to the moving marker and park in front of the guy so he stops. Jack his car, bribe the cops and drive back to Paulie. Easy. A Ride With A Singing Rat ($2500) Get in the car provided and drive to the marker. The guy won't come quielty so beat him up. He has a shotgun but he has terrible aim, so just run up and whack his head in as quickly as possible. Get back in the car and just drive around the area crashing into fences and driving fast until he cracks, then head back to Paulie. Easy. Five (stinky) finger discount ($2500) Make sure you have full health and a gun for this mission. Head to the marker and you'll see the van surrounded by guards. They only have pistols, so blast them all down and get in. Three cars full of Yakuza will drive up. Even though the game tells you to escape, just target and shoot the cars with a decent gun and kill the drivers when they get out. After you get all three of them just head back to Paulie. Bombs away ($3000) This is not an easy mission. Get in the van and drive it to the first marker. As soon as you get there youll be told to drive it to the fish market and a 1 minuite 30 second timer will start. You need to get the van all the way to the fish market on the other side of the city before it explodes. Dont bother trying to get on the freeway, just drive as fast and as straight as possible, cutting across parking lots and though the docks. You don't need to worry about damaging the van, so don’t drive carefully. There isn’t much to say except drive well and don't get stuck in traffic. Good luck! Clear the docks ($3000) From the way Paulie talks you'd expect this misison deals with more than killing a few more Yakuza, but thats what youre doing. Drive to the crane and then head to the top. Youll find that you now have a sniper rifle, so zoom in (using reverse pinch) on the Yakuza walking around below. None of them will shoot at you and they are all shown by arrows. Just wait for them to come out from behind crates and cap them one by one. After they have all been decapitated, a few more guys will show up at close range. Use the rifle if you want, or just spray them down with SMG fire. The Mafia's Ninja ($4000) This mission is pretty odd since it seems like a stealth mission when it really isnt. There is no way past the first guy so just shoot him and continue on shooting who you like and finding the gaps in the walls and crates to proceed. in the area before the marker there's a first aid kit on the right side near the guy with the SMG. After you get the briefcase more Yakuza show up, so blast them and then start heading back the way you came. Note that you can target the Yakuza from behind a wall and then strafe out and blast them before they can react. The health kit will have respawned, so grab it if you lose any health. Once you get out, just head back to Paulie for a cutscene where you're ignored when you again ask about Juan. Grr! In the mouth of the Wolf ($10,000) Fir a mission worth $10,000 this is quite easy. Make sure you have a AK and armour. Head to the ship and shoot your way through the Yakuza. There are quite a few of them, so pop them all with your rifle and head to the bow. once you are there, a sniper will appear on the second floor of the ship and start shooting you. He cant hit you where you are and you also cant hit him for some reason, so head closer taking out the Yakuza fodder as you go. Keep moving sideways and running in curved paths so the sniper can't get a bead on you and when you're close enough, blast him and any cronies that are left. Head up to the second floor and grab the package. Four more Yakuza arrive, so kill them and head to the marker. Paulie arrives and tells you that while he didn’t find out who the killer was, he knows it was planned at a nightclub downtown. This ends the Mafia missions. PASSION Passion is an airheaded exotic dancer who works at the nightclub you're checking out. You need to help her out for a while to get in. Finding Passion ($2500) This is a very easy mission and it's a wonder why it's worth $2500. Just shoot the people annoying passion and you're done. V.I.P ($2500) In this mission you have to get Passion's stuff for her (The senators drugs!) and get it back to her quickly. There are four packages and all are in plain view, except remember the one at the docks is between the crates, you must come from the end of the stack of crates; you cannot get in at the sides. Passion's car is very fast and handles well, so as long as you're a good driver you should easily finish this mission first time. ??? ($2500) This is another insanely easy mission that should take all of ten seconds. Just beat up or kill the idiot, then waste the other three idiots. Just do it quick since they attack you from close range. Party Favours ($5000) Another fetch mission, except this one's protected by the feds. Just head to the marker and shoot up the cops inside, doing so will not give you a big wanted level like normal cops would. For some reason some of these guys might not shoot at you and your auto target won't lock onto them by itself...hmmm. Anyway, shoot them, grab the stash and you'll get two stars. DON'T bother trying to lose these badges, but rather run back to the car, shooting anyone in your way and get in. Now you'll get three badges, regardless of what you old wanted level was. Corrupt it away using the pause menu services and head back to the club. SENATOR WOOLSEY A corrupt self-serving senator Woolsey will be your last boss in this game! Photo Shoot ($1800) Woolsey sure is a hypocrite; he spends all his time banging models and at strip clubs but he can't wait to bust other officials having their fun. Head to the marker and up to the roof and you'll see the judge with a girl. Zoom in as close as you can with the camera, get them both in the shot and take the picture. Next you have a short time limit, so get off the roof and down to your car quickly. Head to the next spot and you'll see two guys walking around near some cars. Zoom in almost to maximum, wait till they are facing you and both in shot and take it. Afterwards one guy with a shotgun shows up behind you, so shoot him and you're done. The Star Treatment ($1500) Time to help the Senator avoid the same fate you just helped him deal to the other guys. Head to Alexis' premier, it's just down the street. Next shoot the guy that follows you and then corrupt away the cops. Woolsey and Alexis talk, you get another wanted level. Corrupt it away. More talk. ANOTHER wanted level. Get rid of it and then drop off Alexis. Drive back to the club. Snipe Between the Eyes ($2000) "When he does, shoot him!" Well ok then. Armour and rifle for this one. Head to the spot and then onto the roof and into the marker. When you do, your old friend Toro and some thugs arrive. He was the one that killed Juan and screwed you over. Woolsey set you up! There are a lot of enemies close to you, but none of them are anything you haven't fought before. Toro also dies just like anyone else when you apply bullets liberally to him. Shoot them all down and Juan is finally avenged...or at least partly. Head into the marker to finish the mission. Also, just who the hell pays you anyway? Revenge ($2500) Now you finally know it was the Senator that screwed you over, it's time to kill the bastard! After the nice cutscene where Pedro talks about putting a bullet in Woolsey's wig the man arrives, sees you and unsurprisingly runs for it. Shoot the guards and then turn and get into the Homm QUICKLY! Even if you do it as fast as you can, you'll just barely get away in time to catch up to Woolsey. This chase is by far the hardest in the game. Woolsey isn't that fast but he takes very odd and roundabout route. Make sure you don't hit the red crate when following him at the docks, make SURE you pass perfectly though the jetty posts at the beach and keep following him directly though the yards afterwards, regardless if trees block you view or not. There isn't much to say about this chase, except that you will need to be a good driver to keep up. Also shoot up the black car following you as soon as it comes into view, as it's easy to kill and it will keep ramming you. When you manage to chase Woolsey all the way to the park he runs away from you, protected by his guards and corrupt cops. Shoot the two guards then, nail the next set of guards that come from the front. Next three cops come from your left and then three from the right side, behind you. As long as you have armour or a quick trigger finger you'll be fine. Finally you confront Woolsey alone. He has a rifle and a lot of health, but just target him with your AK and fill him with an entire clip. The gunfire will keep him stunned and unable to do anything and a full clip will kill him. Congrats you have finished Gangstar! Sure the ending sucks but I think this is a great game! B-boy ($4000) He's back again with an apparently tuned up engine ready to kick your butt. This guy is still a slow ass punk, but there are plenty of narrow parts of the racing route between a fence and a building where he will slightly tap you and you'll get shoved against a building or something. Besides the cheating this should be really easy as the catch up logic in this game is incredibly forgiving and you should easily win. B-boy tries to explain away his loss and drives away. $4000 is a fair whack for such an easy mission! Against All Odds ($2000) This mission is a &%$#! The guy you're against is FAST; much faster than the other opponents you've faced. The course is also difficult, with one jump that you have a good chance of screwing up and landing on a roof and missing the checkpoint, make sure to line up with the checkpoint before you get too close. The second jump makes you land on a pile of rubble that may or may not hurl you off in a random direction depending how you hit it, it's best to just stay straight and hit the rubble as cleanly as possible with all four wheels, so you'll, at worst get flung forward by its peak rather than go sailing into a wall. The last one is a long jump over deadly water and a fence. Speed way up for this one and hit it perfectly. Make sure you keep your car in good repair, or you won't be able to go fast enough to clear it. When I beat this mission I actually went off the side of the last jump, so I didn't go high enough, hit the fence, somehow flipped forward over it and drove into the checkpoint. There was no sign of Stat who was in FRONT of me when I jumped? What the hell? Proving grounds ($5000) This race can be summed up in two sets of two words, "Don't fall" and "&^#$ you!" Almost the entire race takes place on small suspended rail bridges and you have no chance of winning if you fall from them. Don't try to pass B-Boy at all until near the end where you finally leave the rail bridges and race along the road there: your cars superior speed will blow B-Boy away as long as you aren't miles behind. If you try to pass him on the rail bridges 99% of the time he will just knock you off and you'll lose. This race is really hard and all you can really do is learn the course and keep trying until you beat it. It's worth much more than the other racing missions for a reason. Good luck. MICHILLE Michelle is just some random racing woman. Wheels of Fire ($500) This is an easy race as its mostly straight roads and very short. Just stay away from the other racers, watch out for traffic at the intersection near the bridge and know that even if you lose the race's extreme shortness makes it easy to retry unit you nail it. Revenge of the Chica ($1000) This race is annoying. It's pretty easy most of the way, just remember that sharp left at the start, but near the end you have to go really fast up a highway, then almost stop, turn right, go over a ramp, then go over another ramp, them drive straight and many times the cpu cheaters will just barge you out of the way like your cars made of cardboard when you try to go up the ramp. This mission is tough, so just keep trying until they hit a car or screw up somewhere to give you enough breathing room to clear the ramps without being knocked off. It's still quite short thankfully. Beach Boys ($1500) This race is a pain because you're on bouncy terrain along with racers that can bump you out of the way like your car is made of feathers. Stay away from them; make certain you thread the gap between the jetty posts perfectly and know that the end is basically a very long straight provided you don't crash into the jetty posts. Your car is MUCH faster than theirs, so you will blow them away in the straight. DONT slow down at the end! You can drive in that water. I lost this race first time when I had it won because I stopped, confused on where the heck I was meant to go. Grrr! L. A. Drag ($2000) This is a short but extremely annoying track. Be careful on the first jump down or you'll hit the hedge. Go slower. The next jump is a pain, as there's a tiny gap and if the other racers are in front or behind you there will be a traffic jam to get though and since they cheat you'll usually come off worse, although once I saw them get BOTH stuck in the gap when they tried to go through together while side by side so I could get a nice lead. At the end of the flood channel drive forward and turn rather than trying to jump off the edge of the flood channel early or you'll land in the yard surrounded by walls and lose. It's hard to explain but the natural racing line will no doubt make you do this. Do all that and you'll win. Phew! Odd jobs Gangstar features a few optional activities to help you make more money. Really though you make so much money off of missions and find so much ammo lying around during them that you hardy need to make more. If you happen to need cash tho these activities are always available. Taxi Driver This is a lot like the GTA version of Taxi driver. You pick up a fare which is marked on your radar then take them to their destination, get paid then grab another fare and so on. You can make some decent money out of this and it's a good way to get used to the controls. Food Delivery For this one, just jack one of the blue delivery cars driving around town. They are easily recognizable since they have yellow hamburgers on top. Once you start the mission you have to go pick up food at the Cheap and Quick, a fast food chain and then deliver it to the marker. This is simple: the delivery cars are fast and can take a pounding, there's more than enough time to get to the marker and even get the car repaired if you need it. You don't make much money from this mission however. Paramedic Despite the hellish flashbacks from GTA you might have about the Paramedic missions they are a thousand times easier in Gangstar. Just enter an ambulance. After you start the mission you'll get a marker on the map for a patient. Drive there quickly and pick them up. Note that you can just drive to the marker full speed and you'll instantly stop so you can't run patients over. They also don't need to get into your ambulance as they instantly get inside when you stop in the marker, so you don't need to be very careful like in GTA. Then just head back to the hospital. You only need one patient per level so you don't have to drive forever and the ambulance can be repaired at car repair shops so don't be shy about barging though traffic. Use the pause menu corrupt option to keep the cops off your back if you get a wanted level and when you finish ten patients you'll get a few thousand bucks and the Sick Ride achievement. Contact.
