INTRODUCTION G0100 =============================================================================== Welcome to 'Jake Hunter: Crash and Burn' for the iPhone, released by WorkJam in 2009. This is a remake of the original NES game way back in the mid 80s as start of the Tantei Jinguuji Saburo series. It wasn't just remade for the iPhone but actually release on the Nintendo DS as part of the Jake Hunter Detective Chronicles compilation which contained the first four Detective Saburo games plus two new cases. The English release was kind of butchered and only contained three cases, thus it was late re-released as Jake Hunter: Memories of the Past which is identical to the Japanese Tantei Jinguuji Saburo release. Just to make it clear, this iPhone app only contains one case which is Case No.3 on the DS cart. Suggestions, comments or errors - tell me about it. BASICS G0200 =============================================================================== Controls: ````````` Being an iPhone game you only use the touch screen. There is a rather large d-pad at the bottom of the screen to move around the options, and the middle button is "action". If you want to return to the previous menu you have to use the actual "Return" command within the choices. The Menu button brings up the current actions such as "Talk", "Inspect", etc. The sound button on the left will tweak the sound, naturally. =============================================================================== 03.) FAQ GXX00 =============================================================================== Q) How long is the game? A) You can probably finish it within 2 hours on average. Q) Can you save within the game? A) Yes, and later use "Continue" to restore the save point. Q) What's the difference to the DS game? A) This only displays one screen at a time and thus you do not see the location and person you speak to in the top screen the DS would. This is kind of annoying because the menu will pop over this screen. I think the iPhone has the capability to show both at the same time if not a little squeezed so I am disappointed, they could have just shrunk that huge d-pad a little. =============================================================================== YY.)
