Game Basics ||| [GB100] O==================|||-----------------------------O====================||| _____________________________________ ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ 1.1] Story ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ -=-=-.GB101.-=-=-= Dr. Peter Venkman mocked former student Scott Dickinson when he was his teacher. Scott Dickinson has now gained real other world abilities and has unleashed an army of ghosts to cause havoc in the city and is up to the Ghostbusters to bring peace to the city. The aim of Ghostbusters is to progress up the tower floors by defeating the ghosts and bosses on each floor. Currently there are only fifteen floors of the tower but the game introduction suggests that the developers will create 40 floors, with the 40th being the final boss battle. As you progress through the floors you will encounter new ghosts to battle and will unlock new weapons and armour, along with the ability to level you Ghostbuster up to higher levels. ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ 1.2] Controls ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ -=-=-.GB102.-=-=-= The controls for the game are pretty straight forward. Moving around: To move you Ghostbuster around simply tap on a Ghostbuster to select them and drag your finger to the desired location on the screen and let go. Once you start a level you have a couple of seconds to position your Ghostbusters on the screen, try to spread them out so it’s easier to select them. Busting Ghosts: To bust ghosts, select a Ghostbuster and drag your finger along the screen to whichever ghost you wish to attack and let go of your finger; below the ghost a target should appear to say that you have selected that particular ghost. An orange line (Blasters and Scientists) or green sludge (Wrangler) will appear to indicate that you are attacking. Once the ghost’s health bar has been depleted a trap icon will appear. Tap on the icon the capture the ghost. Take too long and the trap icon will disappear and the ghost will regain a small amount of health, which you will have to drain again and tap the trap symbol to capture. The trap icon will disappear more quickly for higher level ghosts. Healing: Only Scientists (see character roles [GB202]) can heal Ghostbusters. Select your Scientist and drag you finger to the Ghostbuster which you wish to heal. A green line and a + symbol will appear to show that you are healing. A Scientist can heal themself, simply drag your finger away and move in back onto the same Scientist. Abilities: You can use abilities straight away in a level and can be used for various reasons (see characters abilities section. To choose an ability to use simply select a Ghostbuster and tap on the ability you wish to use in the top left corner of the screen. ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ 1.3] Gameplay ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ -=-=-.GB103.-=-=-= Energy: You gain have up to a maximum of 100 energy. Each attack will cost you 20 energy. The energy bar is at the top of the map screen and has a lightning bolt symbol. 1 energy is restored every 36 seconds, so it will take exactly 1 hour to restore 100 energy. Power cores can be used to restore energy. Currency: There are three kinds of currency in the game. Cash – This is earned by completing busts. The harder the bust the more cash you earn. You can use cash to purchase equipment, research items or to buy the Ghostbuster ‘Joel Holowinsky’. Slime – This is earned by completing busts. The harder the bust the more slime you earn. There is a daily reward of slime by clicking on Slimer in the headquarters once a day, the amount rewarded increases with each consecutive day. Slime comes in either green or blue (rarer). Slime is used to unlock the doors on each tower floor. Power Core – This can be earned by completing a new floor level (2 power core reward) or by beating the ‘Stay Puft Marshmallow Man’ (see Ghosts section) for the ninth consecutive time (3 power core reward). You can also purchase power cores with real money. Power cores are used to buy special equipment, speed up research time, provide special boosts, or to purchase four of the Ghostbusters. _____________________________________ |||------------------------------||| |||====================O O====================||| Ghostbusters ||| 2. Characters ||| [GB200] O==================|||-----------------------------O====================||| _____________________________________ ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ 2.1] Characters ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ -=-=-.GB201.-=-=-= In total there are eight Ghostbusters in the game. Two of these you start with for free, another two you can buy later on with cash and the other four (the Ghostbusters from the film) you can only get buy spending 50 power core. You can purchase all of the Ghostbusters if you so wish but can only have four selected at any given time. Starting Two Michael Prince -Wrangler Tara Fitzpatrick - Scientist $5,000 (Available at the start) Michelle Ying - Blaster $20,000 (Available after completing floor???) Joel Holowinsky - Blaster 50 Power Cores Dr. Ray Stantz – Blaster Dr. Peter Venkman – Wrangler Dr. Egon Spengler – Scientist Winston Zeddemore - Blaster ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ 2.2] Character Roles ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ -=-=-.GB202.-=-=-= There are three different character roles in the game and you can choose any combination to make your team. Currently there are two Scientists, two wranglers and four blasters. Blasters: These Ghostbusters have the highest attack of the three roles. They are armed with proton packs and medium armour. They are best used to attack the stronger ghosts and their abilities focus on attacking. Scientists: These Ghostbusters have highest range but the lowest attack and defence of the three roles. They are armed with M.E.D. guns and light armour. They are mainly used to heal other Ghostbusters but can attack ghosts if you so wish but cause little damage in comparison to the other two roles. Their abilities focus on healing. Wranglers: These Ghostbusters have the highest defence but the worst range of the three roles. They are armed with Slime Blowers and heavy armour. When attacked by multiple Ghostbusters, ghosts will focus their attacks on wranglers more than the other two roles. Their abilities focus on defence. ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ 2.3] Levelling Up ~-~ ~-~ ~-~ -=-=-.GB203.-=-=-= You level up by completing a set number of busts. With each level up your attack and defence number increases and at levels five, ten, fifteen, twenty and twenty five you can choose one of two new abilities. If you characters health is completed depleted i.e. they become ‘slimed’ that bust will not contribute to one of the busts required for them to level up. Currently you cannot level up any further than level fifteen but with further updates from the Game developers you should be able to in the near future. Busts required Per Level: Level 2: 1 Bust. Level 3: 2 Busts. Level 4: 4 Busts. Level 5: 6 Busts. Level 6: 8 Busts. Level 7: 4 Busts. Level 8: 8 Busts. Level 9: 12 Busts. Level 10: 16 Busts. Level 11: 20 Busts. Level 12: 6 Busts. As the slime requirements were lowered after the recent update I don’t presently know how much is required for the floors below floors 14 but I intend to find this out! If you tap on this car you will gain 1 slime. Team choice: Two Blasters and two Scientists makes the ideal team. Have each of the Scientists heal one Blaster each. The Blasters will draw the ghosts away from the Scientists so the risk of them being defeated is minimal. If your Blasters health gets a little low have one of your Scientist use the team heal ability. When you can, equip your Blasters with a Puzzle cube. Equip you Scientists with one Alien Probe Stick and One Dream Web, with the dream web you shouldn’t have to heal your Scientists directly. Stay Puft Marshmallow Man: As defeating the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is a time sensitive affair, if you move your iPad/iPhone’s clock time one hour forward after defeating the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man you can defeat him in a matter of minutes. You can’t however move you clock back once you have defeated the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man at a certain time as the game won’t let you play if you do this, so it is recommended to use this technique 6-8 times just before you go to sleep. Then when you wake up just turn the time back to when you last played. I.e. if you defeated the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man at 07:00 you can’t turn the clock back to 06:00. If however you defeat the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man at 07:00 and the current clock time is now 11:00 you can turn your clock back to 08:00 and continue playing from there..
