Credits 001-General Information ----------------------------------------------------------- This is a walkthrough for the iOS game called "The 39 Clues: Vesper Hunt". It is based off of the "39 Clues: Cahills VS Vespers" book series, in which Vesper One forces Amy and Dan Cahill to commit crimes. You can e-mail me at ilovecartoonssomuch@yahoo.com, but make the subject blank so I know that it's not spam. And if you want to use this guide for something, ask me first (website policy). 002-Walkthrough ----------------------------------------------------------- Tap "Start" to start the game. You can connect this game to an account for the 39 Clues online game, or you can play as a guest. The game starts with a message from headquarters, saying that you need to find a specific Vesper agent who is behind an evil plot. Your character goes to that location. Once there, you need to do one of three minigames. Beat the minigame before the timer in the bottom/right goes to zero! You can pause the minigame at any time. Circuit Game ------------ Your local contacts have left you a message in invisible ink. Connect the wires to illuminate the black lights and reveal the hidden message. This is a simple enough challenge. Tap one of the twenty- five squares to rotate it. Only squares with wires on them can be rotated. If a wire connects to the power source, it glows purple. Rotate all the wires, so every single piece of wire is glowing purple. This means they form one continuous line. They also light up all four lights here, revealing the message. The message tells you about the culprit's personal data and location data. Matching Game ------------- This is a matching game. You have two circuit boards: one on the left and one on the right. Both boards have seven chips, with each chip being a different color. Tap a chip on the left board, then tap a chip on the right board. If the two chips are the same color, a wire connects between them. If not, they both flip over. Your goal is to find all seven matching pairs. When you do, you get the culprit's personal data and location data. Number Game ----------- There are three files on the left-hand side of the screen. You want to find those three files, on the grid. Move the cursor square left, right, up and down by tapping the red arrows. When you have the cursor around a file, tap it. The file is added to the right-hand side of the screen. Do this with all three files you're looking for to complete the challenge. You have to avoid the moving red security scanners, and the three files must be retrieved one after the other (i.e. there must be no "wrong" files in between them). They don't have to be retrieved in any particular order; you just can't have any wrong files picked in between the three. Once you find all three files, you get the suspect's information data and location data. Personal Data ------------- Once you finish one of the three minigames, you get personal data and location data about the culprit. First is the personal data screen. On this screen, you see pictures of all the possible suspects, types of information about them, and the data you just uncovered. Use the data to narrow the field of suspects down. For more information on this, check the "Identifying the Criminal" section. Location Data ------------- After the personal data screen, you have the location data screen. This screen is a globe, with three possible destinations listed, and the location data information at the top. Use the location data to figure out where the culprit is going next. For more information on this, check the "Where to Go" section. Catching the Culprit -------------------- The game will repeat the above sections over and over again. First, you play a minigame (invisible ink, circuit board or server hacking). Finishing the minigame gives you the personal data (which helps you determine who the culprit is) and the location data (which helps you determine where to go next). Eventually, you will gather enough personal data to narrow down the list of possible suspects to one suspect. You could always guess, of course. When you've got your single suspect, the next time you travel to the proper location, that suspect is caught. If it turns out you have made a mistake, you have to wait before you can resume playing. Catching a suspect gets you a backup card. You can use a backup card to skip the wait in between missions, or in case you fail a challenge. As you keep playing and capture suspects, you get medals and the game gest progressively harder. 003-Identifying the Criminal ----------------------------------------------------------- Every time you solve one of the three minigames, you get personal data on the suspect. This information runs at the top of the screen. There are five types of data: Gender Hair Interests Talents Trademark Each type has its own possibilities: Gender: Male Female Hair: Black Blonde Brown Interests: Architecture Dogs Gardening Ice Cream Knitting Photography Rock Climbing Scuba Diving Surfing Video Games Talents: Blackmail Disguises Explosives Hacking Languages Lock Picking Martial Arts Poisons Stunt Driving Trademark: Backpack Hat Headphones Scarf Sunglasses Weapon Your goal is to read the data at the top of the screen, and use it to narrow down the field of suspects. For example, if your data is "suspect left brown hairs in hairbrush", you should go to "hair" and confirm that the suspect has brown hair. That will eliminate a good many suspects. Here are all the various clues you can be given, which narrow down the suspects. Provided that you're correct, the next time you go somewhere, you catch the culprit. There are 21 possible suspects in all. 004-Where to Go ----------------------------------------------------------- Every time you finish the personal data section (above), you get taken to the main map. This is a globe of the world, with three possible locations. The information about the correct location is scrolling right to left, across the top of the screen. Tap on a location to learn about it. You want to figure out which of the three locations is the one you're looking for. Then, travel there. It's not too difficult.
