Castlemaster 3D Plus WALKTHROUGH V1.2 Final =========================== Written by Guanjin Feng, Singapore updated on: 29/06/2012 gjfeng@yahoo.com ======================== Tips on using this guide - Use the find function ctrl+F or go to edit>find. ===== INTRO ===== Greetings from the heartlands of Singapore! I first started this game with Castle Master 3d (free version), which was very fun and cool to play. So since I find the game quite well, I decided to buy it for cheap USD$2. I think it's very much worth the cost for the content you get! Just unforunately, some parts of the english are really really bad, game developers should work on their english before they made the game. This is my 2nd time writing a game walkthrough, so please leave comments for rooms of improvement! I'm writing this guide to help people save un-ncessary commands, to help you to be effective in the game and save $ as well! If you are damn rich to purchase in-game gems to recharge your command points, that is! Have fun in this amazing game and God bless! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ========= CONTENTS ========= 1) Difference between free & paid version 2) Game Intro / Game Play 3) Fast Facts / Strategy 4) Conquer Strategy 5) Character Weapons 6) Credits 7) Legal info -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ========================================= 1) Difference between free & paid version ========================================= The free version is called Castle Master 3D, while the paid version is called Castle Master Plus. Which is weird why they removed the 3D from the paid version you mean paid version has no 3D? haha. Oh, that's not true. The paid version gives you 400 max commands points at start. While the free version gives you 150 max command points at start. Regardless of free or paid version, you can purchase additional max +100 command points at USD$0.99. That doesn't recharge your commands points however. At anytime you can choose to recharge your points for free (1min=1point) or recharge 100% for 30gems. Also, the paid version gives you more gems at start. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ========================= 2) Game Intro / Game Play ========================= This is like a castle defence (& offense) with some elements of RPG included. In the beauty of 3D too! Simply amazed at the graphics! Unlike most castle defence games, where you defend all the time, you need to go on the offensive as well! You have to worry about whether to leave troops in your bases, manage your resources: Build, upgrade or train. If you played Dragon Force for Sega Saturn, this game is very very very simliar to that. The game has 3 view modes. One is castle building mode, where you view the map. Build buildings, train your troops or recruit more troops. Second is the character mode where your characters can shop for upgrades. The last mode, is the battle mode, whether defence (your castle in view) or offensive (enemy castle in view), there is a timer. When the timer runs out, the defender wins by default. This game is really really hard! Without the ability to reload the game where you made your mistake, if can be a head banging experience many times. For example, if you accidently lose your hero with 600 troops while defending, poof! There goes your 600 troops! Easy win for computer! ***Shocking Discovery!*** Just for kicks, I cheated with Gold and Gems to see how far would I go. Here's what I did: instant upgrades knight:50, Knight recruits: 300. With 300 knights, I conquer eastwards and hit till the last 2 columns of castle. By then, I've lost over 150 knights, and I'm not even reaching the last castle! You know what? The computer has only level 1-2 upgrades, even for end units. Yet my level 50 knight is struggling against them! My conclusion? This is impossible to win! The computer is fairly matched with me, even though I had the advantage of cheating! This is ridiculous! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ======================== 3) Fast Facts / Strategy ======================== ***General*** - Seriously, do not bother to purchase gold for cash. Gold is hard to earn, but there's no need to throw your hard earned $ into that. - Gems are earned randomly during events (1gem/event). When you defend or conquer a castle, you get 1 gem if you win a war. - Command points do not replenish automatically - Free command points are replenish (click manually) at 1 point/min. - There's no way for you to save/load a game. If you made a mistake, you bear the consequences fully. Lost your hero with 300 troops? Too bad for you really. - If you lose your hero while attacking a castle, you retain any surviving troops back in the castle you attacked from. - A newly captured castle from the hands of the enemy, buildings will always be empty. Even if you had built any buildings beforehand, you have to build from scratch again! AH! that sucks really. - Plan your attacks carefully, even if you can win back your captured castle remember you have to build from scartch again! - Remember the computer can attack any adacent hostile castle at ANY time. - It is important that you upgrade your troops at all times, since computer is constantly upgrading its troops. You'll notice by mid-game, computer would have fully upgraded its troops (level 50) - You time you level up, You get to distribute 4 character Attribute points, STR raises damage, INT raises your max mana, skill damage and increases the taxes you collect from castle, lastly CON increases your defence & max HP, allowing you to take more punishment. - try making good use of rush (double-blade skill) to get out of near-death experience, it can dash through crowds, without collision. - Sometimes it's good to go on an immediate offense after computer attacks, for a simple reason: lesser defenders. - The game gets really hard when you start to approach the last 4 column of castles where one of the double-bladed sword red monster can take your hero out in a few hits, can beat a army size fewer than 7 knight on it's OWN! Oh, it can spawn up to 80 of them in the final castle(hades)! ***Castle building*** - Don't bother to appoint officers over a castle, you don't really need them, to buy their loyalty at 10 loyalty points, the cost of 2 command points with some gold, you'll quickly go bankrupt after you command more castles! Imagine 10 castles, 10 officers, to max out each officers loyalty would be 2 command points * 10 * 4times= 80 command points! Seriously, what a waste! The command points can be put to better use elsewhere! - Max loyalty points you can get for castle's loyalty is 123 points. Each time you send a relief, you add a certain number of points (max +20) - Always max your castle's loyalty whenever possible, more loyalty yields more gold when you tax them. Your main character INT stat affects the gold you get from tax too! - If you leave no defenders to your castle, when the enemy attacks, your hero will always be present to defend the castle and officers too if you employ any. - Computer seems to attack you with numbers in proportion to your defenders. If you leave no defenders, computer will attack your castle with 4-10 creatures, if you have more defenders, computer will always try to attack with a higher number of attackers whenever possible. ***Character mode*** - You can buy new/upgrade skills (top-left), weapons (bottom-left)& armor (bottom-right) & hp/mana potions(top-right).You can safety ignore the rest, they are pretty much useless actually, unless you are damn rich with gems. - Max level you can upgrade your skills is 5. -Equipping the double-swords will allow you to run fastest in this mode. - You may choose to ignore the lady the middle, although she can offer you the zeus blade, the zeus blade in my opinion, is a complete nonsense to hunger after your $. After you manage to complete to the point of the last heart, you require to give 5 gem everytime to fill a small portion of the last heart. Seriously, this is nonsense! I got the blade before which takes about 150 GEM, it is garbbage compared double swords for 50Gem. Slow swing, useless even against crowds, movement speed slowed, that means you cannot get out of tight situation resulting in your death! This Zeus sword is garbbage! ***Battle*** - Your hero will always be present in all battles, regardless of where your castle was attacked or which castle you attack. - Be very careful not to lose your hero in a battle! even if the battle is in your favor, losing your hero immediately counts as your loss! That includes losing all your troops if you are defending a catle! Ouch! That's why I made a personal preference to add all attribute points to CON. - If you are defending the castle and the attacker has a few creatures left, you can lure them around the battleground and drag the time out till you win. This is very effective in 1 hero defence with no other defenders, as computer will usually only bring 4-10 creatures to attack your castle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =================== 4) Conquer Strategy =================== Upgrading your Hero level quickly --------------------------------- In the beginning, it is a good idea to leave a castle empty, then defend that castle with only 1 hero and allow the computer to constantly attack the castle. So that you can quickly level your hero to match computer's advantage in monster upgrades. Just make sure you reduced the surrounding enemy castles defenders first, you don't want a single hero to face an army of 300! Usually computer will attack an empty castle with 10-30 monsters. Which usually, is at a safe level for a single hero to beat! Get an offensive officer to help out as well! Also, get the 200gem ring as fast as you can! It'll give your hero a very good advantage when you are solo-defending castle! How are Computer's army formed ------------------------------ It seems that the type of units Comptuer use is tied to the castle. If it's the last few column of castles to the right, the units computer uses are amazingly stronger. You can put this knowledge to your advantage by, conquering one of the stronger castles to the east, then allowing the computer to re-take your castles. After the computer retakes its castles, it'll fill the weaker castle with weaker units, making it easier to conquer, and the stronger castle will have less defenders! Retake it fast! Before the defenders fills up the castle! Slow Build Strategy by Pukka ---------------------------- The castles in the map is sorted by from the left: 4 castles then 5 castles then 4 castles, then 5 castles. If you conquer castles from the left to right 4 to 5 then 4 to 5. You can easily conquer the rest of the map without leaving defenders behind! This is my recommended strategy to quickly conquer the first 8 castles from start. If you have a better strategy do share with me! And I'll add your strategy to this section here! For the start, keep upgrading the spearman(till level 10) & warrior(to max). Start attacking the castle to the north with all the spearman you have. Once you conquer the 2nd castle, train the max number of spearman in your 2nd castle. While you are doing this, keep upgrading your GAIA castle. Once the spearman are trained, send all the spearman you have to the 3rd castle to the north. Train the max amount of spearman in your 3rd castle and again, once finished, send them to the 4th castle, and immediately to the 5th castle. In your main GAIA castle, keep upgrading castle till you can build blacksmith then start training max amount of warriors. While building/training, attack the 2nd column of castles(4 castles on your right) with all the spearman you have.Once the warriors are ready, send all to attack the Eris castle right of GAIA. You should lose 0 warriors if you have keep upgrading warriors from the start. Train new batch of warriors in GAIA Castle. Send all the warriors you have in Eris and attack the castle north of Eris. For the 2nd castle in the 2nd Column, spilt the warriors evenly and then attack north. Computer should attack by now, with the 2nd batch of warriors in castle GAIA, send them to conquer back the castle lost to computer, and redeploy them to Eris. So at this point, you will have troops like this (the 4 castles from the 2nd column): 1st castle with all the spearman, around 15-17 warriors in 2nd castle, 15-17 in the 3rd castle, and 30-34 warriors in the 4th castle. From this point on, build up ALL your castles and attack eastwards in thisorder: attack 5 castles, then 4 castles, then 5 castles then 4 castles. If you build and attack this way, you do no have to leave defenders in the castles behind, except for those 4 or 5 castles in the most front! Going along this strategy, follow these pointers: 1) all the forward bases should always have max troops possible. Should you have trouble defending, try making good use of instant redeploy (cost 1 gem) 2) Towards the end game, when you are approaching the last 3-4column of castles it may take 600-900 knights to take a single base. If both sides are level 50 in the troops level. Their troops are highly superior to yours, watch out for the double-bladed monster! it can take you out in 1 or more hits! does around 100 dmg even if you wear the highest level armor: Zeus armor! 3) Towards the end game (around last 12 castles to conquer, make sure you can cover all the troops you lost in defending, consider recruiting troops from the castkes behind the frontline then deploy them into the frontline castles 4) Due to the nature of computers superior troops, you can lose half of fully upgraded knights in a single castle siege towards the end game. Always be prepared to re-enforce troops from behind. 5) I seriously have no idea how to win the end game when computer and you have fully upgraded troops. Computer's troops are way too powerful. Knight Rush Strategy by Pukka ---------------------------- I'm experimenting with a Knight Rush strategy, which I think it is only doable in paid version due to the higher number of starting gold and gem you have. At start, simply instantly build up all your buildings till Academy, then train 40 Knights, immediately do instant upgrades for knights till you run out of gold Then, send 20 knights northwards, 20 knights eastward. There's no specific attack order, just conquer eastwards till you hold the first 4 column of castles. At the frontline of 4 castles, spilt them 10 knights each. If you are fast enough, during all these while, the computer will only attack you 1-2 times! Beating the final Castle, Hades ------------------------------- See that lone 1 unit in the final castle. Wow, it is truly strong! It looks like a gundam and it takes out fully upgraded knight in 1 hit! Thankfully, it does have splash, it can only target 1 unit at anytime. I wasn't able to beat this gundam down, even surround it with 300 fully upgraded knights. I think the only way to beat this castle is to wear this castle's defenders down to small numbers and head straight for the castle with your hero (hit and run). It took me about 900+ knights, to wear this castle down to less than 50 defenders. Seriously, this game is inbalanced! Computer has significant advantage over you! What happens after you conquer the last castle ---------------------------------------------- After you conquer the last castle, you'll super short ending and given an option to bring over your hero, gems and gold but without your units and units upgrade to a new game. Well, obvious to know, it's best to upgrade your character fully and bring as much gold/gem before you beat the finale castle! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ==================== 5) Character Weapons ==================== You may change your weapons during character view mode (in inventory) or in battle, by tabbing on the weapon icon on the bottom right. Here's a rundown Dagger & shield --------------- DMG: Low RUN SPEED: Medium ATTACK SPEED: Medium Remarks: You would only want to use this when you go on the defensive, useful for pure INT builds. The jab attack is slow, useful skills are only healing & increase defence. When running away, few monsters can catch up with you. Consider switching to double swords for running away. It's skills are very useful though, with Area of effect healing, defence spells. It's more like a support hero in this form. Double Swords --------------- DMG: High RUN SPEED: High ATTACK SPEED: High Remarks: Due to the increased attack speed, it's damage output is the highest among all the weapon choices. The single-hit damage is only slightly behind double-handed Sword. Allows you to run away or charge into battle quickly. With the Rush skill, you can easily dash out of a tight situation. The Rush skill have saved my character's life many times, I'm sure it'll do the same for you. The best choice for STR & CON builds Double-handed Sword ------------------- DMG: Medium RUN SPEED: low ATTACK SPEED: low Remarks: The slowest among all weapon configurations, although it hits the hardest, it's final damage output is low due to the slow attack swing. This weapon sucks totally, even in crowds where the double-handed sword is suppose to shine (hits multiple enemies in single swing). Unforunately, Zeus blade belongs to this category, this expensive Zeus blade paid with gemS can't even beat a double sword's damage paid in gold. On top of that, you run realllllllly slow. If you are low on hp and want to get out, chances are, you'll character will fall flat before he can find a safe place to heal. To be avoided at all costs! Only useful when you are completely surrounded, where your splash will hit many units. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ============= 6) Credits ============= Thank God for the few hours I have to come up with this guide.
