============================================================================== Monopoly Hotels [Developed by EA] Room & Amenities Guide by PiratesRiding Version 1.0 as of 03.03.2012 ============================================================================== I've always been terrible at abstract math, but give me a real-world application for it and I'll figure it out in a jiffy. So when I was presented with a bunch of different rooms of different sizes, each earning a different income at a different rate...well, it really appealed to my compulsive sense of logic. So rather than throw away my notes afterwards, I thought I'd share my conclusions with the good people of GameFaqs, and maybe somebody out there will get some use out of them. NOTE: This guide covers only the free room options--no IGP required! ============================================================================== GENERAL FINDINGS You'll be tempted to fill your hotels with the most expensive rooms you can afford, because they earn a higher yield than cheaper rooms. However, a lot goes into what makes a room productive. Try using this handy formula: Payout Amount x Number of Payouts Per Hour / Size of Room = $$$ Take for example your first two rooms: Horse Room and Wheelbarrow Room. Horse Room gives you a payout every two minutes and gives you $8, while Wheelbarrow Room updates every five minus and gives you $50. So it may appear that Wheelbarrow Room is the better deal, but Wheelbarrow Room is double the size of Horse Room. So does Wheelbarrow Room produce the same amount as two Horse Rooms? Horse Room $8 Payout x 30 Payouts per Hour / 2 Units = $120 an Hour per Unit Wheelbarrow Room $50 Payout x 12 Payouts per Hour / 4 Units = $150 an Hour per Unit So the Wheelbarrow room does produce more--not to mention you're penalized less if you don't feel like checking your iPhone every two minutes (I know I certainly wouldn't...it's kinda fun, but this ain't Mass Effect 3.) One thing to keep in mind is the more often you have the check the game, the less often you'll be making those rooms efficient. So if you have a hotel stocked with Horse Rooms and another hotel stocked with Roller Skate Rooms, you'll end up losing a lot of money an the Horse Room hotel because...well, you need to sleep. When given the choice, choose the one that needs less maintenance. ============================================================================== IDEAL DAILY ROOM RATES Horse Room $8 x 720 / 2 = $7,200 per square unite per day Wheelbarrow Room $50 x 288 / 4 = $3,600 Thimble Room $125 x 31.2 / 1 = $4,000 Koala Room $300 x 31.2 / 2 = $4,680 Scottie Dog Room $400 x 8 / 2 = $1,600 Top Hat Room $750 x 4 / 1 = $3,000 Flip Flop Room $1,000 x 3 / 2 = $1,500 Tennis Racquet Room $1,050 x 3.43 / 2 = $1,800 Cannon Room $2,000 x 2 / 4 = $1,000 Shoe Room $2,500 x 2 / 2 = $2,500 Baseball Glove Room $1,575 x 3.43 / 2 = $2,700 Scooter Room $3,667 x 1.5 / 2 = $2,750 Sack of Money Room $4,900 x 1.14 / 4 = $1,400 Battleship Room $5,900 x 1 / 4 = $1,475 Race Car Room $10,350 x 1.2 / 2 = $6,210 Roller Skate Room $6,400 x 1 / 2 = $3,200 Purse Room $5,417 x 1.2 / 1 = $6,500 Space Shuttle Room $10,350 x 0.67 / 2 = $3,450 IDEAL DAILY ATTRACTION RATES Cupcake Shop $75 x 96 / 2 = $3,600 per square unite per day Floral Shop $650 x 8 / 2 = $2,600 Theatre Room $1,900 x 3 / 4 = $1,425 Casino Room $6,300 x 1 / 4 = $1,575 ============================================================================== BEST TO WORST ROOMS 1. Purse Room (BEST) 2. Race Car Room 3. Space Shuttle Room 4. Roller Skate Room 5. Top Hat Room 6. Scooter Room 7. Baseball Glove Room 8. Shoe Room 9. Floral Shop 10. Tennis Racquet Room 11. Scottie Dog Room 12. Koala Room 13. Flip Flop Room 14. Battleship Room 15. Casino Room 16. Theater Room 17. Sack of Money Room 18. Cannon Room 19. Thimble Room 20. Cupcake Shop 21. Wheelbarrow Room 22. Horse Room (WORST) The best rooms are rooms that don't take up much space, give you a high rate- of-return, and don't require constant babysitting to reap their benefits. The worst rooms are big, low-returning, and need to be checked every few minutes to accumulate real progress. ============================================================================== STRATEGY Complete the tutorial (don't throw away your gold when prompted), then concentrate on unlocking the Thimble Room. Once you've got that, fill an entire hotel with them. That's right: the whole thing. Check it every 45 minutes and you'll be rich enough by the end of the day to move on to more sophisticated clients. When you have enough funds, replace those Thimble Rooms with Top Hat Rooms, then Purse Rooms. If you keep one hotel full, you'll always have a high cash flow, and you're free to do whatever you like with your other properties. ============================================================================== THE END That's it!
