INTRODUCTION G0100 =============================================================================== Welcome to 'Ellie: Help me out...please' for the iPhone/Pad, released by Ateam in 2011. The game plays like most "escape the room" games although you actually interact with a person with every move. There are also way more animations and even full speech support (Japanese only) to make this game stand out of the rest. Suggestions, comments or errors - tell me about it. Enjoy! =============================================================================== 02.) BASICS G0200 =============================================================================== It's late at night as I enter a strange building... It seems to be abandoned. Hmm... That light I just saw... Was it my imagination? No, wait! I can hear a faint voice from inside this room. I open the door and... I'm greeted by a TV monitor. And there on the screen... I see someone... I speak into the intercom in front of me... She turns around. "Who's there!?" I tell the frightened girl my car was damaged in the earthquake a little while ago. She then pleads to me with grave urgency... "Please!" "You've got to help me get out here!" The interface is very simple. Tap anywhere to interact with the objects. Use the "Items" button to change the eye (Search) to one of the objects in your inventory. If the item does not have a proper interaction it will do a search instead so you do not have to switch back and forth all the time. You can ignore the "Hints" button. The camera button on the top right switches between the left side of the room and the right side. You need to use both sides plenty of time. You can also tap on Ellie by the way. =============================================================================== 03.) WALKTHROUGH G0300 =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good Ending G0310 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start by picking up the coin on the left side in front of the door. Place the coin into the vice at the back wall. Use the flattened coin on the mirror. Interact with the desk drawers. Ellie will say they do not open. Try opening them again and Ellie will stand at the desk. Change the camera angle and pick up the organizer in the bottom left corner. Return to the other screen and check the corner of the desk for some writing. Remember the top two numbers of the list (below the names). Each game instance should be different thus I can only explain how to solve the next puzzle. Look at the sheet of paper above the desk. Using the numbers you just noted down to check the code you want to have. For example if your numbers were 6 and 8 then look at 6 being Short, Long, Long and 8 being Long, Short, Long. Short stands for the left drawer whereas long stands for the middle drawer. Returning to pulling the drawer, use the combination of six pulls to open up the desk. Pick up the trowel from the drawer. Look inside the drawer again to get a message. Dig up the panel in front of the desk with the trowel. Dig up the dirt. Watch the ring's reflection in the dirt (you do not need to pick it up). The short and long blinks represent the code on the paper sheet above the desk. For example if you have Short, Short it would be "1". There are three numbers which you need soon. Move the pillow on the bed. Read the message below where the pillow was. Use the organize on Ellie. Interact with her bag and you should mention the hair dryer. Use the combination to unlock the bag's lock. Get the hair dryer from the bag. Get the gym clothes from the bag. Plug the hair dryer into the outlet in the back. Flush the toilet. Use the gym clothes on the toilet. Flush the toilet again to flood the floor. Use the hair dryer on the message on the bed. Use the mirror on the star symbol on the floor. Check out the reflection in the mirror a wee bit closer... (You may have to hold up the mirror on the star symbol again, then check out where the light hits the wall. Put down the mirror by tapping somewhere else.) Use the trowel to dig up the wall where the light hit. Read the message on the wall behind the bed (this should be different for each game instance). Note the dashes grouped together, for example III is 3, but VII is a 7 in roman numerals. There are six numbers in total. Interact with the uncovered panel on the wall and input the six numbers. Tap on the hair dryer to complete the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bad Ending G0320 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is easy to get the bad ending by mistake which is a shame because it spoils some of the twisty plot before you get further into it. Rather than give you a step by step walkthrough, here is what you need to watch out for: The beginning is the same as the good ending. Do not flood the floor before shining the mirror at the symbol. Get the trowel from the drawer and read the message inside. Simply shine the mirror on the wall as in the good ending, unlock the hatch and let Ellie escape. Worth checking out. =============================================================================== XX.) FAQ GXX00 =============================================================================== Q) What is "Another Room"? A) You can buy "Another Room" to have the same story from a different perspective. The puzzles are changed though. Q) What is the drawer combination? A) This differs for each person's game, although replaying on your own phone will be the same again. Check the corner of the desk for some writing. Remember the top two numbers of the list (below the names). Q) What is the lock combination? A) After digging up the ring (if you have not gotten to that part yet, keep playing), watch the ring's reflection in the dirt (you do not need to pick it up). The short and long blinks represent the code on the paper sheet above the desk. For example if you have Short, Short it would be "1". There are three numbers for the lock. Q) What is the emergency hatch combination? A) Read the message on the wall behind the bed (this should be different for each game instance). Note the dashes grouped together, for example III is 3, but VII is a 7 in roman numerals. There are six numbers in total. Q) Why do I always get the bad ending? A) Do not simply let her walk down the hatch, there is more to be done beforehand to ensure Ellie is safe! It is easy to get the bad ending. =============================================================================== YY.)
