Contact Information ----------------------------------------------------------- This is a walkthrough for the game called "Pocket Politics", which is made by Kongregate. I got some of the information about the higher levels of the game from their message boards. To contact me about this guide, you can use the GameFAQs message system! I generally don't check it unless I'm uploading a new walkthrough, but it's better than nothing! You can also try tweeting me @arglefumph. 002. Tutorial ----------------------------------------------------------- The game begins with a brief tutorial. You are introduced to lobbies. There are three different lobbies. Hometown Heroes earns $1 every 0.6 seconds. Court Marshals earn $60 every 3 seconds. Ticketeers earn $540 every 6 seconds. Your first challenge is to buy 10 hometown heroes. The more heroes you have, the more money they make! However, the more heroes you have, the more money it costs to get a new hero. The pricing scale looks something like this: 0 heroes make $0. To get a hero, it costs $4. 1 hero makes $1. To get a second hero, it costs $4. 2 heroes make $2. To get a third hero, it costs $5. 3 heroes make $3. To get a fourth hero, it costs $6. 4 heroes make $4. To get a fifth hero, it costs $6. 5 heroes make $5. To get a sixth hero, it costs $8. 6 heroes make $6. To get a seventh hero, it costs $9. 7 heroes make $7. To get an eighth hero, it costs $10. 8 heroes make $8. To get a ninth hero, it costs $12. 9 heroes make $9. To get a tenth hero, it costs $14. 10 heroes make $10. To get an eleventh hero, it costs $16. The same general rules apply to the other lobbies. The more people you have in a lobby, the more money it produces, and the more money it costs to have someone added to the lobby. Buy as many lobbies as you want! If you get 25 people in a lobby, the lobby's speed increases. If you get 50 people in a lobby, the speed increases again. Speed also increases when you get 100, 200, 300, or any multiple of 100. If you max out on speed, to the point where the status bar tells you how much you make per second, each boost will increase the amount of money you make. Once you get five court Marshals, you get access to the middle screen. Here, you can pick a candidate, either male or female, conservative or liberal. This makes a difference, as to what kind of lobbies you can get. Conservatives have these lobbies: 50 States of Hay Faux News Gas Gang License to Pill NRYay Salvation Nation Syndicate Liberals have these lobbies: Grass Roots Planet Posse C.O.N. News Liberati Taxes Axis Socialist Network Syndicate On the middle screen, your candidate runs for elections. The money your lobbies make goes towards election goals. You can also make money by tapping on your candidate. The tutorial has you tap on the candidate fifteen times. When you do this, the tutorial is finished, and all the other screens are unlocked. 003. The Five Screens ----------------------------------------------------------- On the leftmost screen, you can buy things with gold. You can either purchase gold with real money, get gold from earning trophies. Sometimes you get gold for watching ads. The second screen is the lobby screen, which you're already familiar with. You can now buy people in groups of 1, 10, 25, 100 or MAX. "Max" means as many as you can buy, with the money you have. The middle screen keeps track of which elections you're doing. When you reach an election goal, you can tap. You get all the money from the election goal back. For example, it costs $5M to reach level two. When you tap on the middle screen to get level two, you get a free $5M. The middle screen also has a bribe icon in the lower/right. Tap it, and the game auto-taps for you for thirty seconds. You can only do this, once every five minutes. The fourth screen is the upgrades screen. You can buy upgrades, to improve your taps and lobby production. For example, for $50,000, you can add $400 is added to taps. For $500,000, $2000 is added to taps. For $18M, $16,000 is added to taps. Other upgrades involve getting staffers who auto-tap for you. The rightmost screen keeps tracks of any trophies you have earned, as well as how many followers you have. You get followers automatically, by earning money. If you have over 50 followers, you can retire. That resets you back to the start of the game, without any money. But the good news is that the more followers you have, the more money your lobbies make! The game recommends retiring, whenever you can double the number of followers you have. After you retire for the first time, you get endorsements! You can use them on the upgrades screen. And when you reach level 80 for the first time, you can renounce! This lets you start the entire game over from the beginning again, but it gives you favors and kickbacks. 004. You retain all permanent items, like campaign managers, chief of staff, ad watch boost, cash counter and lobby multipliers. Elections become tougher, upgrades cost more, and Followers are harder to gain. As an example, here are the numbers after you renounce the first time. Rank 0: Concerned Citizen. Cost to next level: $33.73Oc Favors and kickbacks are unlocked when you renounce. They show up on the main screen. You start with 3,000 favors, and you generate 900 favors every hour. You can trade 900 favors for 1 pork barrel. Pork barrels increase lobby production by 1% each. Pretty simple! When you renounce five times, you unlock empty promises. Empty promises increase lobby production by 1% each. You can exchange 4 Pork Barrels for 1 Empty Promises. You can also exchange 1 Empty Promises for 2 Pork Barrels. The game is set up, so bonuses multiple against each other. So if you've got a 3% bonus from Empty Promises, and a 2% bonus from Pork Barrels, that means you have a 6% bonus overall. When you do the math, the ideal ratio is 4:1, where you always have four times as many Pork Barrels as Empty Promises. Some people recommend waiting until you have 300-500 Pork Barrels, before you start turning them into Empty Promises and trying to hit the 4:1 ratio. When you renounce 15 times, you unlock Silver Tongues. Silver tongues increase lobby production by 1% each. You can exchange 4 Empty Promises for 1 Silver Tongues. You can also exchange 1 Silver Tongues for 2 empty promises. When you do the math, the ideal ratio is 16:4:1, where for every 1 Silver Tongue you have, you have four times as many Empty Promises and 16 as many Pork Barrels. Since it's tough to follow that ratio, some people recommend you get 300 Pork Barrels. Then, for every 8 Pork Barrels you get, change 4 of them into 1 Empty Promise. Do this, until you get 1500 PB and 300 EP. At that point, switch your strategy, so for every 48 Pork Barrels you get, get 1 Silver Tongue and 4 Empty Promises. When you renounce three times, you unlock Imbalance of Power. Imbalance of Power increases Favors generation bonus by 1% each. You can exchange 9,000 Favors for 1 Imbalance of Power. When you renounce ten times, you unlock Deregulate Industries. Deregulate Industries decreases Favors generation time by 0.5% each. You can exchange 40 Pork Barrels for 1 Deregulate Inustries. When you renounce 20 times, you unlock Export Freedom. Export Freedom increases Favors generation bonus by 1% each. You can exchange 40 Empty Promises for 1 Export freedom. 008.
