----- Zero Tolerance character guide ----- This guide is provided free. It is (c) Wewillrocku 2019 and should not be used for monetary gain. Zero Tolerance is a corridor fps for Sega Mega Drive. Very uniquely for this type of game, there are five characters to select. If one of them perishes, you will be forced to select another one until you lose all five. Some are much better at the middle or end of the game than others, so let's discuss the characters in detail. I will quote the game's description of them and then provide my thoughts. Satoe - "Specialist in communications and radio. She is also a highly accurate marksman who can consistently hit a 2 cm target at 100 meters. Accuracy at such targets is 100 out of 100." She has a bullet proof perk which is not noted in the description of her! This means she will take no damage until the perk is completely gone. She is obviously very good either for later stages with tougher enemies OR the stages with a large number of enemies. I would personally pick the later stages because the early stages (at least the first two) have an abundance of health most of which will all be wasted on Satoe. In any case, the counter at the left of the screen tells you how many enemies there are on each stage, so make sure to pay attention. Some stages have very few enemies, but surprisingly, some have a very large number of enemies. Satoe begins with a handgun. Justin - "Medical specialist with advance training in projectile weapons. Wolf while being the group's doctor and surgeon, is also an expert pistol shooter." He has a bioscanner perk for detecting enemy movement on the map. With this bioscanner, you should never be too surprised by enemies. It is of limited effectiveness given that you have a map at all times, whether you use him or not, but it's a lot better than nothing. He begins with a handgun. My recommendation is to use Justin at the beginning of the game. Tony - "Specialist in infiltration operations including evasion, Major Ramos is the best trained member of the team in hand to hand combat, having studied 14 styles." He begins with no weapons. Even though he is a martial artist and he can one shot a lot of enemies with his fists (the game's description of him is accurate), you have to be careful. It would be best to use him in levels that you know ahead of time have guns available to pick up. This includes stage 1, but personally, I'd say he's not the most noob friendly so you might save him for one of the middle stages. Thomas - "Surveillance systems specialist. He has received multiple disciplinary actions for insubordination, refusal to follow orders, and conduct unbecoming an officer." He has a bioscanner for detecting enemy movement on the map. He begins with a shotgun. You can pick up shotguns at various points in this game, but because this is a very powerful weapon and it's nice to begin with a shotgun, I would save Thomas for the toughest stages. Scott - "Explosive ordinance disposal training in demolition, ballistics, bomb defusal, and countermeasures. Detailed background and profile is classified extremely top secret." He has two mines to use but I frankly don't see the point. You have to drop them in front of you and bait enemies into walking into them. They may be handy later. I don't know. I'm banking on him being useful against a boss, or something. He begins with a handgun. Closing thoughts: To summarize, keep Thomas and Satoe for later stages. Use Justin at the beginning, then Tony. Scott may or may not be garbage. I don't have access to the game's code so I'm not aware of any less obvious differences between the characters. It seemed to me that there were other slight differences between them, such as one of them running faster than the others, but I can't objectively verify this. One thing that should be noted: if you defeat enemies and one of your characters perishes, then those defeated enemies will still be defeated when you go back in with a new character. There is no difficulty setting in this game (unless, possibly, it's hidden), but the characters you use will determine what difficulty you play at.
