Pocket Pro Wrestling: Perfect Wrestler was released one year before SPIKE would bring the Fire Pro Wrestling series to the Game Boy Advance in 2001. With damage taken and moves applied to either Wrestler, the Finisher Meter will begin to turn yellow. Once a Wrestler's Finisher Meter is completely yellow, the Wrestler can then HOLD SELECT + A to activate the chance to perform their Finisher. Once SELECT + A has been pressed, the Wrestler will perform a taunt and their Finisher Meter will then turn Yellow and White. During this time, the Wrestler will have the opportunity to perform their Finishing move on the opponent for the remainder of a few seconds. A Wrestler's Finisher Meter will return to white automatically once a Wrestler's Finisher has been successfully performed. Additionally, a Wrestler's Finisher Meter will also return to white if the Wrestler does not perform their Finisher in the small window of time given. ==================================== Raising a Wrestler's Finisher Meter: ==================================== The following moves will raise either Wrestler's Finisher Meter: * Taunts (SELECT) * Grapples * Submission holds To encourage fair play, punching, kicking or stomping an opponent will not raise a Wrestler's Finisher Meter (though, the Wrestler who is on the receiving end will receive energy towards their Finisher Meter as a penalty). ====================== Performing a Finisher: ====================== A Wrestler's Finisher can only be performed on an opponent under two circumstances: 1) The opponent is grappled while in a groggy state (for Finishers applied from front or back grapples) 2) The opponent is laying on the ground (for Finishers that are applied as submission holds). The easiest way to perform a Finisher to a groggy opponent from a front or back grapple is to immediately bring them to their feet after knocking them down ( the more damage a Wrestler has taken, the longer they will remain in a groggy state). Once a Wrestler's Finisher has been performed, a high pitch sound effect will be heard and the Wrestler's Finisher Meter will automatically return to zero. ======================================================== ******MAIN MENU****** ======================================================== ============= CHAMPION ROAD ============= Take on the entire roster to become World Champion. ================ EXHIBITION MATCH ================ Standard 1-on-1 versus match. ================= ELIMINATION MATCH ================= 3-on-3 elimination team match. =============== CHALLENGE MATCH =============== Take on the entire roster with stricter conditions. ======= OPTIONS ======= Adjust various in-game options. __________________ ============= CHAMPION ROAD ============= Take on the entire roster of Wrestlers to become World Champion. There are a total of eleven matches (nine regular opponents plus two hidden boss characters). When selecting Champion Road mode, two options will then be presented: [ START ] [PASSWORD] Choosing START will begin Champion Road under a new save file while selecting the PASSWORD option will allow the player to input a password they have saved from Champion Road mode. After defeating an opponent, a password is presented at the end of each match which the player can use to save or load their current progress in Champion Road mode. If the player loses a match, the following options will then be presented: [REMATCH] [ QUIT ] __________________ ================ EXHIBITION MATCH ================ Standard 1-on-1 versus match. After the match has finished, the following options are presented: [ REMATCH ] [PLAYER SELECT] [ MAIN MENU ] __________________ ================= ELIMINATION MATCH ================= Each player selects a team of three Wrestlers to compete in a series of individual, 1-on-1 matches. The first player to have all three of their Wrestlers eliminated loses the Elimination. If the player is facing the computer, the player will take turns selecting the computer's Wrestlers as well before the start of the Elimination. __________________ ============== CHALLENGE MODE ============== Just like CHAMPION ROAD mode, the player will go up against the entire eleven Wrestler roster with two minor adjustments: 1) The password system has been disabled 2) One loss and it's an instant game over. There is no noticeable adjustment to the game's difficulty itself. __________________ ======== OPTIONS: ======== Adjust various in-game settings. For more information on unlocking the boss characters, please visit the "Secrets, tips & tricks" section of this FAQ. THE MACHUTO Based on: The Great Muta Height: 186cm Weight: 110kg Finisher: Brainbuster - A (front grapple on groggy opponent) Sporting a bandana that reads "evil" in Kanji, The Machuto is the first hidden Boss character the player encounters. Machuto's bird-like nose and appearance was also inspired by the "Tengu" (mischievous Mountain Goblins from Japanese folklore). The Great Muta himself would don a Tengu mask early in his career as part of his entrance attire. _________________________________ ALEXANDER GLASS Based on: Hulk Hogan Height: 200cm Weight: 140kg Finisher: Brainbuster - A (front grapple on groggy opponent) The second and final hidden boss character. Alexander has the best stats in the game attack and defense wise. From his Brainbuster to his Lariat, all of Alexander's attacks are highly damaging and should be approached with caution. At first glance, Alexander may resemble Fatal Fury's Wolfgang Krauser or Blazing Tornado's Hizelshutat Von Ludwig, but Alexander's towering height, long hair and use of the Lariat are all inspired by none other than Hulk Hogan (who named his Lariat finisher "The Axe Bomber" when Wrestling in Japan). ======================================================== ******SECRETS, TIPS & TRICKS****** ======================================================== ================================== Unlock the hidden boss characters: ================================== At the title screen, press the following button combinations to unlock each hidden Wrestler: The Machuto: Hold SELECT and press A three times Alexander Glass: Hold SELECT and rotate the D-pad three full times (up, down, left, right - it doesn't matter which directional button you start with). If done correctly, the player will hear the crowd cheer unlocking each hidden character. It should also be noted that the hidden boss characters cannot be selected in Champion Road or Challenge modes. ========================== Fight against The Machuto: ========================== Defeat all nine regular opponents in either Champion Road or Challenge modes. After the ninth opponent has been defeated, The Machuto will appear as the first hidden boss character. =============================== Fight against Alexander Glass: =============================== Defeat the hidden boss character The Mashiyo in either Champion Road or Challenge modes. After The Machuto has been defeated, Alexander will appear as the second and final hidden boss character. ================ Ending messages: ================ Successfully complete Champion Road mode to view a special ending message (written in Japanese) to unlock the hidden boss character The Machuto. Successfully complete Challenge mode to view a special ending message (also written in Japanese) to unlock the hidden boss character Alexander Glass. ======================================================== ******CREDITS & SPECIAL THANKS****** ======================================================== Tiger Mask II: for helping with translating Wrestler names and figuring out the secret message screens.
