This FAQ/Walkthrough was written for Bomberman Quest for the Nintendo
GameBoy Color. In order to use this walkthrough you'll have to make use of
both the in-game map, and the maps found in this FAQ, which are pretty much
the same thing. Since the in-game map doesn't label the various zones, I've
taken it upon myself to do so, and will refer to the areas in the game as
such. The full map can be found in section 4 and mini-maps of each zone
appear in whichever zone the walkthrough is currently... walking you
through.

We start off in Town Zone 1. Left takes us to the Field Zone, but we don't
want to head there just yet. First you'll want to explore the four Town Zones.
Simply walk around the Town Zones and speak to everybody, after all it can't
hurt. Make sure to check out the Library in Town Zone 2, examining the shelves
there will explain a lot of the game basics. Now that you know the basics,
enter the menu and assign the Normal Bomb to either the A or B button.
Whenever you want to save your game, examine that thing next to the shuttle.
When you're ready to continue, head to Field Zone 1. Read the sign, then head
left to Field Zone 2. Defeat Ballom and get the Fire he drops. Return to Town
Zone 3. Go to the Bomb Workshop and make your Normal Bombs more powerful using
the Fire we just obtained.
When you’re ready to continue head back to Field Zone 2. You can defeat Ballom
again to receive a heart. Next Head up from there to Field Zone 5. Read the
sign and then head left to Field Zone 4. Defeat Burol there and get the Yo-yo
it drops. Go back to Field Zone 5 and head right this time to Field Zone 6.
Defeat Kurin there and get the Land Mine it drops.

Next go up to Field Zone 9 and read the sign there. Then head left to Field
Zone 10. Defeat Blobby there and get the Rubber it drops. Head up to Field
Zone 13 and read the sign there. We can't get the chest now so head left to
Field Zone 14. Defeat Borey there and get the Tackle Belt it drops. Next
head right to Field Zone 15. Defeat Pengy there and get the Full Heart it
drops. Head down to Field Zone 8. We can't defeat the enemy here yet so
continue down to Field Zone 7. Read the sign and then go down the stairs.
Read the sign. We're now inside the Water Commander's base. We have a choice
of two paths, right or left. Follow the right path first. Bomb the switch,
then backtrack and take the left path. Open the chest for to receive Steel
Shoes. Then head back around and continue up past the switch we just bombed.
We can't defeat the enemy here yet so ignore it and head left. Avoid the ball
and chains and continue left. On the next screen we'll find the Water
Commander. Defeat the commander to receive an Explosive Core, the first
engine, and to increase Bomberman's Maximum Health by 1.
Use the Flute to warp back to town. The head for Field Zone 3 and enter the
Ancient Ruins there. Read the sign and watch out for the falling rocks on the
next screen. On the screen after that, defeat Onil and get the Dash Shoes it
drops. Continue right to the next screen. Step on the switch on the left. Then
stand on the one on the right and put on Bomberman's Steel Shoes. Then take
off the Steel Shoes and go down to the next screen. Defeat Parse there and get
the Fire it drops. Afterwards use the Flute to return to Town. Go to the Bomb
Workshop and make Rubber Bombs using the Explosive Core and Rubber. Then exit
from the top of Town Zone 2.

We're now in Forest Zone 7. Defeat Mad Flower there and get the Fire it drops.
Left will take us to Field Zone 7 where we've already been, so head right to
Forest Zone 06. We can't get that chest now, so head up to Forest Zone 9.
We can't defeat the enemy here yet, so Head left to Forest Zone 8 and we'll
find another enemy we can't defeat yet. Head up to Forest Zone 15 and open
the Chest to receive the Silver Armor. Those Stairs leading up are our next
destination. We have to head around to reach them. Go back to Forest Zone 9,
head up this time to Forest Zone 14, and then go left to Forest Zone 15.

Read the sign and then go up the stairs. Read the next sign and then put on
Bomberman's Steel Shoes so we can walk past the fans. Take off the Steel
Shoes on the next screen. Defeat Curansee and get the Jump Shoes it drops.
Afterwards put Bomberman's Steel Shoes back on and exit the same way you came
in. Use the Flute to return to Town. Then reenter Forest Zone 7.

Head left one screen to Field Zone 7. Avoid the enemies and go up two screens
to Field Zone 15. Then right two screens to Field Zone 13. Thanks to the Jump
Shoes we just obtained, we're now able to get the chest there. Use the Jump
Shoes to jump up and open the chest to receive the Combat Boots. Then use the
Flute to return to Town.

Next head to Forest Zone 14. Put on the Jump shoes and jump up to the ledge
there. Go right one screen to Field Zone 13 and ignore the door for now, We
can't do anything there yet. Go down to Forest Zone 10. Defeat Devil Ant
there and get the !? it drops. Go right to Forest Zone 11. Use the Jump Shoes
to jump up twice and go up to Forest Zone 12. Defeat Torton there and get the
Sneakers it drops. Go left to Forest Zone 13. Use the !? to dance in front
of the Bomberman statue to receive an Explosive Core.

Backtrack to Forest Zone 11 and go down from there to Forest Zone 4. We can't
defeat the enemy here yet so head left to Forest Zone 5. Use the Jump Shoes to
jump up the ledge. Go right to Forest Zone 6 and notice the chest which we
can't get yet. Go down to Forest Zone 1. Then right to Forest Zone 2. We can't
defeat the enemy here yet. Exit Forest Zone 2 from the bottom left which takes
us back to Forest Zone 1. Jump up the ledge and enter the door.
We're now in Electro Commander's base. Notice the switch at the top right.
We'll be back to switch it shortly. For now make your way past the
electricity, either by running past when it stops or jumping over it. Make
your way past the arrows in the next room. Defeat the Mechabomb on the next
screen and get the Power Gloves it drops. After getting the power gloves,
backtrack to the first room, and throw a bomb at the switch. After the bomb
explodes and triggers the switch, continue further into the base. On the
screen above where the Mechabomb was, is another switch. Put Bomberman's
Steel Shoes on and step on the switch to trigger it. Then take off the
Steel Shoes, and use the Jump Shoes to jump over the holes in the floor.
On the next screen, jump across while avoiding the arrows. On the screen
after that, defeat the Sandey and get the Full Heart it drops. On the next
screen you'll find the Electro Commander. Defeat him to receive the second
engine, an Explosive Core, and to increase Bomberman's maximum health by 1.
Afterwards use the Flute to warp back to Town.

Exit Town from the bottom right and we'll be in Beach Zone 1. Defeat Gargoyle
there and get the Helmet it drops. Then head right to Beach Zone 2. Defeat
Gell there and get the Boomerang it drops. Return to town and use the
Explosive Core and the Boomerang at the Bomb Workshop to make either the
Right or Left Bomb.
Return to Beach Zone 2 and go down from there to Beach Zone 5, and down again
to Beach Zone 10. Use the Jump Shoes to jump down. While on the lower level
walk along the left path back up to Beach Zone 5, then go left to Beach Zone
6. Defeat Krabbler there and get the Aqua Bomb it drops. Return to Beach Zone
10 and this time follow the right path to Beach Zone 4. When you get there
use the Jump Shoes to jump down. Then defeat Despider there and get the Hammer
it drops.

Ignore the door for now and head down to Beach Zone 11. Continue down along
the left path to Beach Zone 12. Then go left to Beach Zone 13. Ignore the
door there as well and continue left to Beach Zone 14. Defeat Iceal who is
encased in ice. It'll break out after three bomb blasts. Get the Ice Shard it
drops and continue up one screen to Beach Zone 9. We can't get the chest
there yet, it contains a Full Heart. Then head left to Beach Zone 8, and
up to Beach Zone 7. Defeat Dragon Pup there and get the Full Fire it drops.
Use the Flute to return to Town. Then go back to Beach Zone 1. Go up one
screen...

and we're back in Forest Zone 1. Use the Jump Shoes to jump down and head
right to Forest Zone 2. Avoid the flying enemy we still can't defeat and
head up to Forest Zone 5. Then left to Forest Zone 6. Use the Hammer to
pound the two nails down and open the chest to receive the Speed Bomb. Use
the Flute to return to town.

Then enter Beach Zone 1 again. Go down the stairs and equip the Speed Bomb we
just obtained, and the Power Gloves. Set a Speed Bomb and use the Power
Gloves to throw it over to the two switches on the right. Then open the chest
to receive the Lamp. Next make you're way to the lower level of Beach Zone 13.
Equip the lamp and then enter the door there.

The top of the first area is booby trapped Use the diagram below to make
it to the next room safely. If you step on a trap, there will be an explosion
and Bomberman will lose 1 health.

The next screen has collapsing floor tiles. The four tiles with the designs
on them are the collapsing ones. Simply jump over them and your safe. Use
two bombs to trigger the four switches, and then head up to the next screen.
Defeat Seeballon there and get the Clock it drops.
Afterwards use the Flute to return to Town. Head to the Bomb Workshop
and make the Ice Bomb using an Explosion Core and the Ice Shard.

Next we're heading back to the Field Zone. Head to Field Zone 5 and dance in
front of the Bomberman statue using !? and we'll receive a Stopwatch. We're
going to need the Jumping Shoes very shortly so equip them now. Head left to
Field Zone 4, and then up to Field Zone 11. Jump across, defeat Archer, and
get the White Card it drops. Afterwards jump up to Field Zone 12 and enter
the door there.

We're now inside ancient ruins. Step on the switch to the right. Then go
up and run into the blue switch using the Tackle Belt. Move further into
the ruins until you reach another floor switch. Walk across it, then step
on it again without getting off it, and head left to the next screen. Move
past the metal disc and go down to the next screen. Use Ice Bombs to defeat
Grein there and get the Scuba Gear it drops.
Exit the Ancient Ruins and head to Field Zone 9. When you get there, use the
hammer to pound down the nail. Then equip the Scuba Gear and Aqua Bombs. Go
down the well, bomb the switch, and open the chest to receive the Power
Bracelets. Exit the Ancient ruins and head to Field Zone 8. Use the Left or
Right Bombs to defeat Trent there and get the Shield it drops. Then use the
Flute to return to Town.

Enter the Forest Zone and head for Forest Zone 11. When you get there equip
the Scuba Gear and Aqua Bombs, then jump down the well. Bomb the switch and
go down to the next screen. Make it past the spinning discs by jumping over
them as you move down to the next screen. When you get there, defeat
Shelterine and get the Flak Bomb it drops. Afterwards use the Flute to
return to Town.
Now that we have the Flak Bomb we can finally defeat flying enemies. When
you're ready to continue, reenter the Forest Zone. Head for Forest Zone 9,
defeat Fruity there using Flak Bombs and get the Stopwatch it drops.

Next head for Forest Zone 13 and enter the door there. You won't be able to
see anything in this Dark Zone even if you equip the Lamp. Feel your way
around to the next screen. When you get there, defeat Balballoon using Flak
Bombs and get the Wide-range Bomb it drops. Afterwards exit the Dark Zone
and head for Forest Zone 02. Defeat Killer Moth there using Flak Bombs and
get the Skull it drops.

Warp back to Town and then head for Field Zone 7 and enter the Water
Commander's Base. Go up two screens and defeat Ghostey there using Flak bombs
and get the Safety Shoes it drops. Afterwards use the Flute to return to
Town and enter the Beach Zone.

Head for Beach Zone 15. When you get there, equip the Scuba Gear, and Aqua
Bombs. Defeat Puuyan using Aqua Bombs and get the Fire it drops. Go up to
Beach Zone 8. If you don't have a Full Heart in your inventory, go and get
the one in the chest at Beach Zone 9. If you already have one, leave the
chest because you can only carry one Full Heart at a time. Head for Beach
Zone 7, then left to Beach Zone 6, and enter the door there.

We're now in the Hurri Commander's Base. Use the Hammer to pound down the
nails and continue on to the next screen. You have to make your way past
the arrows to find a switch. Use the Jump Shoes to jump right before an
arrow hits you. Jump over to the switch, bomb it, and then return to the
previous screen. Bomb the next switch and move down to the next screen.
Defeat Skullhead there and get the Armored Jacket it drops. Afterwards head
left to the next screen. Equip the Power Bracelets and move the rocks out
of the way as you move on to the next screen. Avoid the spikes on the floor
as you defeat Pinokion and get the Homing Bomb it drops. Ignore the left path
for now, it takes us to a chest we can't get yet. Go down to the next screen
and equip the Helmet. Jump over the gaps and make your way to the next screen
where the Hurri Commander awaits. To defeat the Hurri Commander, use the Combat
Boots to kick Homing Bombs toward him. After winning the battle you're
receive an Explosive Core, Engine 3, and Bomberman's maximum health will
increase by 1. Afterwards use the Flute to return to Town.

When you're ready to continue, enter the Forest Zone. Make your way all the
way to Forest Zone 4. Thanks to the Homing Bombs we recently found, we can
now defeat Baddo there. To defeat it, stand away from it, and use the Combat
Boot to kick Homing Bombs at it. After defeating Baddo, get the Explosive
Core it drops and the use the Flute to return to Town.
Go to the Bomb Workshop and make the Skull Bomb using an Explosive Core and
a Skull. We also want to make the Short-fused Bomb using an Explosive Core
and Clock. However those two items might also produce a Long-fused Bomb
which we do not want, so make sure you save beforehand, and try again if
you don't get the Short-fused Bomb.

Once you have the Short-fused Bomb, enter the Forest Zone again, and head
for Forest Zone 8. We can finally defeat Digadug there. To beat him you'll
also need to use the Hammer. Hit him with the Hammer and then quickly lay a
Short-fused Bomb while he's dazed. Keep doing that until he's dead and get
the Shovel he drops. The use the Flute to return to Town and exit from the
bottom left.

We're now in Desert Zone 7, where we find Jackenboxx. To defeat it, pick it
up using the Power Gloves, and throw it until the pot it's in breaks. Then
bomb it until it dies, and get the Wings it drops. Head down to Desert Zone 8.
Equip the Wings and use them to fly down to the lower level, land and then
fly to the ledge. Go down to Desert Zone 15 where we find Hoopster. Equip the
Power Gloves, and throw them at it until it dies. Then equip the wings, fly
over, and get the Fire it drops.

Go three screens to the left to Desert Zone 12 where we find Pygmin. He's a
teleporter so you'll have to stay away form him and kick or throw bombs at
him. After he's defeated, get the Platinum Armor he drops. Then use the
Flute to return to Town.

Head for lower section of Beach Zone 6 and enter the Hurri Commander's Base
when you get there. Make you're way to the room with the spiked floor. When
you get there, take the top left path to the next screen. Use the Dash Shoes
or Sneakers to move quickly, so you can avoid the balls and chains as you
make your way to the next screen. Equip the Wings and use them to fly across
to the chest. Open it to receive the Remote Control. Use the Flute to return
to Town.
Then re-enter the Beach Zone and head for Beach Zone 4. Enter the door when
you get there. Equip the Tackle Belt and run into the switch. Use the Wings
to fly over the three collapsing floor tiles as you make your way up to the
next screen. Defeat Radiobomb Jr. there and get the Explosive Core it drops.
Head right to the next screen and equip the Remote Control, Full Fire, and
any Bomb that exploded in the + shape. Position two bombs so they'll hit all
four switches at once and then detonate them. Go up to the next screen,
defeat Matango, and get the Black Card it drops. Then use the Flute to return
to Town.

Our next destination is the only unexplored section of Beach Zone, Beach
Zone 3. To get there we have to go to Forest Zone 3 and use Wing to fly
across the gap there. Then go down one screen and we'll be in Beach Zone 3.
When you get there, dance in front of the Bomberman statue using the !?, and
we'll receive the Teleport Armor. Then return to Town using the Flute and
reenter the Desert Zone.

Make your way to Desert Zone 4. Then go up two screens to Desert Zone 6. Jump
up the ledge and follow it around. Don't fight Flyball yet when you reach him,
instead continue down to Desert Zone 13 and open the chest to receive a
Boomerang. Still on the lower level, continue to the right, up, and then left.
Now we can defeat Flyball and get the Fire it drops. Use any bomb that doesn't
explode in a + shape to defeat it.
Then return to Desert Zone 6, equip the Hammer and pound down the nail. Go
right one screen to Desert Zone 7 and enter the door there. Equip the power
Bracelets and move the rock down onto the switch. Continue left to the next
screen where we find Crystal Demon. To defeat it, use the Power Gloves to
throw Homing Bombs at it. After it's dead, get the Glasses it drops. Now
you don't need to walk around with the Glasses equipped everywhere we go
from now on. I'll take care of that and tell you when there's a hidden item.
Exit the same way you came in and go down to Desert Zone 14. Head left two
screens to Desert Zone 12, then go up to Desert Zone 11. Use the Bracelets
to move the rocks out of your way. Hammer down the nail, and enter the
stairs. Now in the cloudy area, watch out for the electricity. Hammer down
the blue switch and go down to the next screen. Defeat Walking Hat there and
get the Leather it drops. You have to bomb the real Walking Hat to hurt it.

Afterwards exit the cloudy area and go up to Desert Zone 4. Defeat Snaky
there and get the Poison Ivy it drops. Afterwards go up to Desert Zone 3.
Jump up to the top level and Hammer down the nails. Then use the !? to dance
in front of the Bomberman statue and receive a Clock. Go back down to Desert
Zone 4, then right to Desert Zone 5, and up to Desert Zone 2. Defeat Yeti
there and get the Gauntlets it drops. The go right to Desert Zone 1. Equip
the Glasses to see the hidden chest on the first ledge. It contains an
Armored Jacket. You can only hold one at a time so only get it if you don't
already have one.
Enter the door and we'll be in the Pyro Commander's base. Make your way
left to the next screen. The floor panels with the designs collapse so
using the Wings is a good idea. Defeat Hippity-hop on the next screen and
get the Explosive Core it drops. Go down and bomb the switch. Then go right
to the next screen. Defeat Sparky there and get the Full Heart it drops. Go
back to the screen where we fought Hippity-hop and then left to the next
screen. The rolling balls here can't touch you if you're flying, so use
the Wings as you make your way to the next screen. Bomb the switch there,
then lay another bomb next to it, and quickly move past the blue box to the
right before it goes off. Then exit this screen from the bottom-right. Use
the wings to fly to the right past the spikes and collapsing floor tiles.
You can't make it all the way in one flight, so you'll have to land on one
of the collapsing floor tiles, and then quickly fly again. Then go down to
the next screen. Defeat Tinklebear there and get the Fire it drops. Go
right to the next screen and equip the Remote Control along with any Bomb.
Lay a bomb next to the switch and walk all the way around to the two blue
boxes. Hold down so you're walking into one of the blue boxes and detonate
the bomb. Down on the next screen where we'll find Shadow Knight. Bombs
have no affect on him. To defeat him, keep throwing him using the Power
Gloves, and then get the Honey Card he drops. The next screen to the left
takes us to the Pyro Commander so be ready for a fight. Bombs that explode
in a + shape do not work on him. Homing Bombs, Flak Bombs, and Right or
Left Bombs will hurt him. Defeat him to receive an Explosive Core, Engine 4,
and to increase Bomberman's maximum health by 1. Afterwards use the Flute
to return to Town.

You should have all three trading cards now, so go speak to the man in Town
Zone 4 and he'll give you the Robot Bomb. Then go left to the Bomb Workshop
and make whatever bombs you can using you're remaining Bomb Components.
There are three hidden bosses to be fought. All of them can be found where
three of the Commanders were. The bosses’ locations are listed below. They
need to be fought in the order they're listed in. You don't get anything for
beating them. They also don't need to be beat in order to get the good
ending and fight the Final Boss.

If you've been following this walkthrough you should have defeated every
monster. You can board the Shuttle, choose to leave anytime, and fight
