Simple in the sense that the controls are limited and so are the graphics. This IS a GameBoy Color game I'm talking about here. But this game can get tough, hence the reason I decided to write this walkthrough. The puzzles are fairly sophisticated and many of the treasures are well-hidden. I've found very little information on this game besides game data and an incomplete German guide. When translated (via Google) it's very rough. So I thought, "what the hell," and started writing my very own English guide. The game itself plays much like a 3D Tomb Raider game but in 2D. Now don't get this confused with the GBC Tomb Raider, which is a side scroller akin to old Prince of Persia games. This is an overhead adventure game with tons of puzzles to solve. Still with me? Also worth mentioning is the fact that I bought this game used and it didn't come with the manual, so a lot of things I say might not be proper. For instance, enemy names and treasure names. But as long I explain them as best I can you should get the gist of it. ############################################################################### 2.00 | CONTROLS ############################################################################### In-game Controls: ----------------- D-pad - Move Indy A - Shoot/Use/Activate B - Jump Select - Cycle Inventory Start - Inventory/Status Screen General Movement: ----------------- Climbing Ladders - Walk up to a ladder and press up on the d-pad. Indy will grab ahold. At this point you can ascend/descend the ladder by pressing the up/down on the d-pad. And some times you can even move left and right. This same principle works with scaleable walls. Swinging - Equip your whip and face the swingable object. Hit the A button and if done right Indy will swing across the gap. Swimming - Use the D-pad to move about the water. Press A to attack the enemies you see. You can surface by moving to a ledge that you're able to climb up to. Moving Blocks - Walk up to the moveable block and then press the A button. Indy should grab ahold of it. At this point you can push/pull the block. Note that sometimes a push or pull action is not available due to the environment around you. ############################################################################### 3.00 | WEAPONS AND PICKUPS ############################################################################### Hands: While it cannot be used a weapon your bares hands play an important role in this game. They are used for various actions such as pushing and pulling blocks, activating switching, picking up items, and more. The downside is that you cannot attack an enemy with your bare hands. Pistol: The pistol is useful for taking out enemies from a distance. It is not the strongest weapon in the game but it does have infinite ammo. Whip: Where would Indy be without a whip? Nowhere! The whip is a great offbeat item in Indy's inventory. It's used for swinging across certain gaps, attacking enemies, and breaking away vines. The whip is slow to swing and once the animation starts you have to wait for it to end before you can move or strike again. It's not a great weapon at all. Shovel: Used for digging holes (can't be found on all levels). Look for patches of land that stick out from the rest. Then equip the shovel and try digging it up. Urgon's Part: The main purpose of this is to break through loose walls. For example vines covering a passage or a wall that has a crack in it. Use this on a viable area and a new passageway will appear. It's strong as a weapon and can only be used at close range. Taklit's Part: Equip this and hold the A button down to become invisible to enemies. Be warned that once the blue meter goes down it will start to deplete your health. This is best used for running past multiple enemies when low on health. Nub's Part: This can be found much later in the game and is best used for lighting up the beacons that you see on walls (you will know it when you see them in the level that you first get this). Health Pack: These red and white packs restore your health completely but do not cure poison. The carrying capacity is five. Poison Kit: These rid Indy of any poison in his body. It works with all types of poisons such as that of scorpions, spiders, and so on. The poison kit does not increase your energy, however. The carrying capacity is five. The point value for forfeiting one is 25. Medical Herb: These plants can restore health and cure poisons, but cannot be carried in your inventory. So if you're health is full and you're not poisoned you will not be able to pick them up. Just come back to them whenever in need of. The point value for forfeiting one is 25. Treasure Piece: Most levels in the game have 10 treasure pieces. It's either 10 or none at all. They all look different in some way but all serve the same purpose. You get 5 points added to your IQ (and score) for each one you collect. ############################################################################### 4.00 | IQ POINTS AND SCORING SYSTEM ############################################################################### At the level complete screen you can trade your health packs and poison kits towards IQ points. Each pack forfeited gains you 25 IQ points, regardless of which you choose to give up. Press A or B depending on what you want to trade and you'll see your IQ score go up. These IQ points go towards your total score, which can be found on the very next screen (press start when you're done swapping for IQ points). The points you earned go towards your score. On top of that you receive 5 points per treasure piece that you pick up. So let's say after level 1 you picked up 2 treasure pieces and gave up a health pack. Your total score will now be 35 since a health pack is worth 25 and 2 treasure pieces are worth 10 points total. And if you're wondering what the points are used for, scroll down to the next section. ############################################################################### 5.00 | HOW TO PLAY SECRET LEVEL ############################################################################### There is a hidden level that's playable immediately after beating the game with a certain amount of points. This is not an easy task by no means. In fact, it's so hard to do that I only recommend attempting it on an emulator since you'll be able to save frequently during the level. (I am not condoning emulation, so do NOT e-mail me asking for a ROM because I don't know where you'd find it.) Either way you play the game, this task will be challenging and even more time-consuming since you pretty much have to play the levels perfectly and give up all of your health packs and poison kits that you picked up. When you beat the game without enough points you'll see a score screen with the Indiana Jones logo at the top. If you have enough points you'll instead see the Return to Peru level screen, as if it were just another level. The point requirement is 1900. You can get 600 points from collecting the treasure pieces prior to Return to Peru. The rest will need to come from forfeiting your health packs and poison kits. So that's exactly 52 of them that you'll have to give up throughout the course of the game. You'll either have to make perfect runs through levels or use the medical herbs (plants) that you pick up if you get poisoned. It's tough work, but it can be done. To be honest with you, I used the passwords found on the internet to access this level because I didn't always make the perfect run through the levels. Hell, I didn't know that such a level existed until much later on. The needed score was found out through experimenting with my GameShark and a code I had for it. Good luck! ############################################################################### 6.00 | WALKTHROUGH ############################################################################### Welcome to my step-by-step walkthrough. Treasure pieces are often referred to as pieces of treasure early on. Later on, I break calling them this for the sake of being short and proper. I only mention this so that you're not only searching for "treasure pieces". Just search for "piece" or "treasure" instead. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.01 | Canyonlands ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You're dropped down a sandy hill and onto a platform. The game starts you with your pistol and trusty whip. If you want to get the feel of the controls go right ahead, but be careful since you're up on a high ledge and will die if you fall off. Jump across to the left to kill the scorpion. Jump across the gap to the left and onto this third platform. In front of you is a waterfall. Get some running space and jump across to the other side of the waterfall. Stay on this ledge that jumped onto. Equip your whip and look towards the top center of your screen. See the beam sticking out of the wall? Hit the action button and you should whip onto the beam and swing across to the higher platform on the left (stand back near the water if the whip doesn't want to grab on). Climb up the ladder. Go to the right and jump back to the other side of the waterfall (only on a higher ledge). Get the gold piece of treasure and fall down onto the ledge below you. One more time, jump back across the waterfall to the left and work your way up the ladder again. This time go into the doorway when you get to the top. Jump on top of the wooden crate blocking a doorway. Kill the scorpion up here and first get the red treasure piece to the left. Now, carefully jump over the set of cracked tiles and get the green treasure piece. If you happen to fall through the floor hold left on the d-pad as you fall (trust me, you can thank me later). Anyway, if you're careful in getting the green treasure jump back over and drop down to where the crate is. This time push the crate out of the way of the doorway. Go into the door. Walk to the right, avoiding falling in the water, and get the blue treasure piece and the herb. Next, jump into the water and swim through the opening. You will fall off the waterfall and you will plummet into the water below. While in this pool of water swim up to the ledge on the top right part. Walk to the right, kill the scorpion, and go into the door to the left of the divider. Grab the herb in here if you need it, then head back out the door. Go over to the right and grab the health pack and poison kit. Go into the doorway to the left of these two items. You'll now be in a room with four pressure panels on the floor. Press them in this order: [2] [3] [1] [4] Once pressed, two treasure pieces will drop down. Collect them and head back out. Once back outside, go to up and to the right and you will see a dark brown crate. Go on the right side of the crate and then push it to the left wall as far as possible. Now push it down once. Jump up onto it and the to the ledge on the left. Run and jump across this gap to the other side. Climb up the ladder and when you reach the top climb sideways on the wall towards the left and go up this smaller ladder. Run to the left and take the ladder to the top. Kill the scorpion then go into the doorway. Grab the herb if you need it, head right and through the door. Again, grab this herb out here if you need it, head up the ladder on the right. As you get up here jump up and grab this ladder above you and climb up. If you want to finish the level now, and not get everything, take the right path up from here. Otherwise, jump up and go left. Walk down these steps and kill the two scorpions in this area. Grab the herb if need, then go into the doorway on the right first. Head up and kill the scorpion. Use your whip to swing across the gap to the left, collecting the gold treasure piece over here. Head back and outside again. This time go into the door on the left. Without touching the four tiles, walk around and pick up the piece of treasure. Now walk onto any one of these cracked tiles and it will collapse---you will fall far down and into some water. Climb up on either side by swimming by the colored ledge. Kill the scorpion and then go up the short ladder on the top left. Grab the herb and go up the ladder on the right side. Now that you're up here, first get the piece of treasure in between the ledges. Next, go to the ledge on the left and equip your whip. If you look, you will see a beam sticking out of the brick wall. Aim Indy at that and then swing your whip: you will swing across. Now on the other side, jump to the next platform across from you on the side (you might have to back up and jump). Climb up the ladder. Jump on and the platform on the right and drop down to the slightly lower one further right. Now run and jump across the gap to the right, then go into the doorway. Kill the two scorpions in here and go through the door immediately left. Follow down this long hallway and outside again. Kill the scorpion then go down the ladder on the right. Slide down the slope and take the square ledges down to the bottom. Kill the scorpion and take the treasure piece. Take the square platforms back up and to where the foot of the ladder is. When you're by the ladder jump off into the waterfall on the right. Climb up to level once more and go right, all the way over to the wooden crate that you pushed earlier. Jump up on the crate then work your way back up to the top of the level where it splits left and right. Remember when I told you to go left and down the steps? This time you need to jump up to the right and go that way. Kill the scorpion then go up the ladder, grab the herb at the top if you need jump across the gap to the left side. Climb up the ladder to be approached by Sophia Hapgood. Level complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.02 | Babylon ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go towards the right and jump up on the stacked bricks. Walk up in between the two bricks and jump up onto the smaller one on the right. Run and jump across to the right. Jump your way up and to the right, go into the next frame. Fall off onto the block that's on the ground then hop to the ground level. Jump up to where the wooden crate is. Grab onto it with the action button (on the right side) the pull it to the right side of the screen. Next, jump over to the other side of it and this time push it to the right side. Hope up on it then jump up to the brick. Walk to the lower right brick and make a running jump to the building rooftop on the lower right. A cinema will show a door open nearby. Drop off this building, grab the herb, and then go into the doorway that was just opened up. Kill the guard in this area then pick up the treasure piece on the left side of the tent. Go back out the same way you came. Run over to the left, jump on the crate again, and then jump over on top the building to the right again. Instead of dropping off, this time jump on the pillar to the right of it, then jump across to the ledge. Run down and you'll be in a new frame. Walk down to the edge (don't fall into the water just yet). Jump to the platform on the left to grab the red treasure piece, then jump two platforms over to the right and get the green treasure piece. Now jump into the water. Once in the water, swim upwards and through the narrow opening. In this next pool area, climb up at the top. Kill the three scorpions on the right side, grab the blue treasure, then head left (grab the herb in the middle). As you're going left, kill the scorpion and keep working your way over until you reach the next frame. You'll be on a ledge where you can see the part where you were earlier. Walks up and along the ledge avoid falling off. Kill the guard then climb up the ladder. Kill the guard to the right, turn around and go left, then go down the path into the next frame. Kill the guard pacing back and forth. If you want to, go down the ladder to kill these next two guards. Whatever you do, you need to be on this platform where you walked out on. While up here run over to the right and drop down the four squares, then onto the ground level. Head downward along this road and into the next frame. Continue down and to the left, past the army truck. Kill the guard over to the left, then go up the center through the stone doorway. Kill the guard on the left and then go over to the right. Above you should see a guard pacing back and forth---wait for him to go over to the left, jump up to his level, then shoot him from the right. This prevents him from harming you. Grab the gold treasure piece and the health pack. Jump back down and head to the left again. Go through the open doorway to the right of this mint green door. While inside pull the switch on the left end of the back wall and the door will open. Go back out and into the newly opened door. Go up and around to kill the three guards on the right side of this labyrinth. Pick up the treasure piece. Head to the right, and retrieve the herb & poison kit. After picking up the poison kit stand against this same wall and equip your gun. Then shoot at the green barrels till they explode, opening a new passage that you have to go through. Walk through the doorway to the bottom right to fall off into a pool of water. Swim through the center passageway in the water. Now, you don't have unlimited air and this labyrinth is fairly complicated, so it's impossible to get everything at once. Use this map below to follow the directions given underneath it. FINISH _______ | |.-------. | |_| || 1 .. | | __________||___|| | | '---------------- | Key: |_______ ________ | 1 = treasure piece one _______| | | | 2 = treasure piece two | | __ | | | ========| __| |_| | |_______ || ____ | .-------' || |.---' | |_2________|| ||______| START From the start QUICKLY follow the path to the finish spot designated on the map. Climb up out of the water and regain your oxygen meter. Since you can't use the start point to get the treasures you need to use the finish to get them. Why? Because the finish is a shorter distance from both treasures. After you've regained your oxygen, go back into the water and swim to treasure one (1 on the map), and then swim back to the finish to regain your oxygen again. Finally, go back into the water and swim to treasure two (2 on the map), and then back to the finish. This tough area is done. Yay! Now that that part is over and you're out of the water for a good while, continue into this green room where your entrance is blocked by a steel door. The object of the puzzle is to get both bars in the middle area, aligned up. So walk onto the one of the left and it will move a notch. Step off and go back on it; and it will move again. Keep doing this (to both of them) until it's in the middle. [HINT: Steps on both switches three times and the puzzle will be solved.] The door will open and you can continue through. In this room is a six-point star on the floor and two boxes on each side. Simply move on box onto the top-left point (it will then lock in place), then move the second box onto the bottom point. The locked door will open: go through it. You'll now be outside in a brown-ish, mud-ish area. Run over to the left to collect the clay tablet. Go up the ladder in the center to get the treasure piece. Go up the ladder on the left this time. Climb all the way up this tall ladder and collect the clay tablet on the upper ledge. While on the lower ledge get to the right side and equip your whip. Swing across to the other side and retrieve the clay tablet. Swing across again to the right to get yet another clay table. Then jump over the gap to the right and drop off to slide down the slope. Alternatively, you could swing back to the other side and go down the ladder. In either case, get to the ground level and go through the doorway you came in this area with. Pass this pentagram room up and go into the room with the pressure plates on each side. At the bottom of this room you will see two more pressure plates---step on the one on the bottom left the go over and step on the one on the bottom right, too. An elevator will appear in the middle of the room. Go over to it and press the action button to go down. Walk over to the left and pick up the treasure piece. There are two slots on the wall, and one big square. Walk up to the right slot, press start to access the menu. Next, move your cursor over the Steel Clog and then press the A. Indy will put it in the slot and the slot on the left will open up. Walk over too it do the same, except put each gray tablet into individually. When all four tablets are in you will complete the puzzle. Level complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.03 | Russian Border ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jump on the platform to the left, go inside and collect the red piece of treasure and health pack. Go back out and to the right of the brown parachute. Kill the mountain lion then go right and into the next frame. Go over to the right, kill the mountain lion, and use the ledges in the center to drop down to the next level. First drop off on the smaller ledge, the bigger ledge on the left, straight down to the lower ledge, and to the right to the ground level. Make sure you drop to the right on last part or you will fall off and die. Go to the right and pick up the green treasure piece. Drop down to the lower platform then go through the doorway. Kill the two mountain lions in this area then grab the health pack. Go to through the opening on the bottom left and into the next frame. As you come out you will be on a ledge. Whatever you do, don't drop off! Go up the steps to the right. Once up here, go to the left and drop off the ledge. Continue down and over the bridge into the next frame. Shoot the mountain lion, go down further, and shoot another one to the right. Keep going this way and you'll be by a guard in a blue uniform. Kill him then grab the blue treasure piece by the door of the small building. Grab the health pack and continue upward. First kill these two guards. Go to the left side of the beige building on the right, pick up the piece of treasure. Next, walk to the right side of this same building and get the other piece of treasure. Walk all the way over to the left wall where some steps are. Jump up on them to go upward. Kill the guard up here and continue up to the next area via the steps. Go to the right once up here. Jump off the ledge and onto the tower to the right. Climb down the ladder into the building. Kill this guard and pick up the piece of treasure. Continue down the ladder to your left, avoiding going on the sides of it because you could fall to your death. Once down this room with even more crates, kill the guard that's pacing back and forth. Go over to the right and open the steel cabinet to receive a treasure piece. Go over to where the big pile of boxes are on the left (not the right). The two stacked crates in the back and furthest right of this pile can be pushed and pulled. First, pull this stack of crate out and to the right. Go on the other side and push them to the right side and against the pile of crates on the right. Next, go back to the left pile of crates and to the front right is a dark crate: pull this to the right three time, then push it up to the top wall right next to the two crates you just moved. Jump on top the single crate, then use it to jump on the stacked crates and get into the vent. While in the vent, walk to the left and into the next frame. In this room is two steel cabinets. The one on the right is important because it has an inflatable raft in it. Get the raft and the treasure piece out of the cabinet on the left. Go back through the vent and then into the room with the piles of crates in it. Drop down the boxes and go to the center of the bottom wall and you will see a ladder. Go down this ladder. Open the steel cabinets and get the treasure pieces. Walk over to the ledge meets the water without going into the water press the start button. Move the cursor to your Inflatable Raft and then press A. Indy will now put the raft in the water. Level complete. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.04 | Tian Shan River ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This level is a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of how the raft control and physics work you'll be okay. At the start head south until you get to a path that splits west, south, and southeast. Go southeast. When you take this path it eventually runs north and south. Go south all the way down, passing small rocks in the water as you go. Keep going south until the path goes left. This lets out into a big area of water. Head up and towards the center and you will see two gates. Approach them to complete the level. Direction recap: south, southeast, south, west, and up towards the gates in the big area of water. If all else fails maybe this directions diagram will help you: S | \ Key: | S = Start | F = Finish F | \_/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.05 | Shambala Sanctuary ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Head through the passage north of you and kill the soldier that's nearby. At the cross section, go right and get the red treasure piece. Now go to the center and head north into the next frame where you will see a mountain lion. Kill it and head north where you will see some golden doors that lead into the sanctuary. Go to the right of this sanctuary while still outside. Push and pull the two blocks so that they ascend to the ledge north, allowing you to grab the blue treasure piece. Now go back over to the sanctuary, the doors will open, and then go inside. Once inside you will be in a fairly large room with a box on each side. Pull each box out of the way and pull down the switches behind them. With those two pulled, head north to inspect the blue square. Go north on either side and kill the guard patrolling up here. Hit the third switch on this back wall to activate the water south of your. Head into a door on either side of this switch. First kill the two soldiers in this room. Now head over to the far left and use the crate to get the green treasure piece. In the center of this room you can need to get the steel cog by moving the crate over to the ledge where the gears are turning. Once you have it head to the right side and move the crate over to the ledge and take the ladder up. Up here, kill the blue creature you see and head through the door. Jump up onto the stage on your right. Move the crate onto the top-left panel like so: [C] [ ] Key: C = Crate [ ] The gate will open. Get the gold treasure piece and pull this second crate over to the bottom panel. Now pull the first crate over to the top-right panel so that they look like so: [ ] [C] Key: C = Crate [C] The gate on the left stage will rise up. Go over on to it and kill the creature. Run over into the corner and get the ratchet and silver piece of treasure. Now it's time to head back out of the sanctuary. But before you do, please take not of the southern door in between both stages. In there is a treasure chest and a burning flame, which we will come back to later on. With that out of the way backtrack all the way back and outside of the sanctuary. Now that you're outside again, head to the left side of the building. Like you did on the right side previously, move the blocks up to the ledge. Climb up and through the doorway and into the bell tower's entrance. Collect the brown treasure piece on the ground, and take note of the markings on the wall. Go through the doorway on the right and you will now be in the bell tower room. First go over to the right and get gold piece of treasure by jumping up on the ledge. Walk up to the lower gear in the top-right corner. Press the action button for a message to be displayed. Pull up your inventory and select your ratchet. Indy will now place it into the big gear, holding it in place. Now it's time to raise the bell permanently. First take note of the gray panel slightly southwest of this gear. This panel on the floor raises the bell when you step on it (and then the bell drops after a few seconds). Now notice another gray panel on the floor on the lower floor to the left. When you step on this panel nothing happens. Onto solving this puzzle: Walk onto the first panel that raises the bell, and then quickly jump over to the other panel to the left. Quickly jump back up to the panel on the right. Do this four times for the right and three times for the left: right >> left >> right >> left >> right >> left >> right After you're jumped back and fourth in the right succession QUICKLY, the bell will lock at the top. Head back up to the bell tower entrance by going through the doorway. Since you've raised the bell a guard appears. Kill him and look at the north wall. Climb the wall via the third column that's rightmost. When you get as high as you can strafe over to the next row. Repeat this until you get to the top. At the top, head left along the track and through the doorway. Notice the gold statue and switch on the right, then head down ladder on the left. Drop off to the doorway on the right. Head through it and use each door to get further down. Get familiar with the way these doors work because you will have to use them wisely when coming back up. At the bottom you'll see a switch on the left and a big clock on the floor. Head down the ladder for now. After getting off the ladder take care of the creature and get the black treasure piece first. Now go up to the rod on the wall where it looks like a gear should be. Press the action button along this spot until you get a message displayed. Open up your inventory then select the steel cog. The gear is placed in the circuit. Head back up the ladder to the clock. This is really simple: The green hand moves slowly along the clock. When it catches up (or touches) the gold statue at the top will spin. The idea of this puzzle is to place the red dial 7 or 8 ticks ahead of the green hand. This gives you enough time to get to the top. Okay, to do this first use the switch to the left of the clock to move the red dial. Move it so that it's 7-12 ticks ahead of the green hand wherever it may be at that time. Now use the doorways and ladders to work your way to the top as fast as you can. When you get up to the gold statue wait over by the switch on the right. It may take a few moments but the statue will start spinning if you moved the hand on the clock correctly. Once it starts spinning hit the switch up here. The statue will now move along the rails, proceed to the bell, and hit it. This knocks something out of the bell. After the cutscene you'll see that your path is now blocked over to the left so climb the ladder. Kill the creature that's on this castle wall and then collect the gold treasure piece. Go over to the right and climb down the part of the wall where you see a marking. Climb down and head along the rails and to the right. Climb down the big wall that you scaled earlier. Enter the bell tower once more. Walk over to where the bell dropped the seed. Pick it up and head back into the sanctuary. Once inside, walk up to the blue ceremonial vase where you let water into. Place the seed into the water and you will obtain a magical flower. Head north and work your way into the stage area once more. Go into the door south of the two stages and you'll be in the room with the treasure chest is. Grab the gray treasure piece in the corner. Place flower into the flame to unlock the treasure chest. Open the chest to complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.06 | Palawan Lagoon ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Above you are two dark doorways that are kind of hard to spot. First go into the one on the left. Use the platform in here to jump on the ledge to the left (you have to angle your jump). Equip your Urgon that fires the green energy balls. Shoot at the wall and a passage will open up. Go inside then collect the red treasure piece in the left corner, the medic kits, and the spade shovel that's in the top right corner. This will come in handy later. Go back to the beginning. This time head through the right doorway. Use your Urgon once more to open the wall up between the pillars. Kill the alligator on the left and then run over to the right where you should notice a brown path of Earth. Walk over it for a message. While standing on it go to your items and select the shovel. This reveals a blue treasure piece. Collect it and head back to the beginning. Head south and into the water. Swim east into the first cave you see above. Follow it through and out of the water. Grab the green treasure piece and the herb. Get back into the water and swim out of this cave. Head east once you're out, then north and out of the water. As you come up go through the doorway of the green palace straight ahead. Follow the platforms north, killing the scorpions as you go. Now go through the doorway up here. Kill the alligator and take note of the soft ground on the right. Like you did previously, use the shovel to reveal a treasure piece. Collect it. Pull the crate out of your way and head through this path and into the next frame. Grab the herb in the corner if you need it, then go into the water. Swim to the southeast and into the cave. Climb the ladders. When you get to the top jump to the platform on your right to kill the alligator. Head around and work your way down to encounter another alligator. Once it's dead go through the doorway. Just south of the green square is another soft dirt spot. Again, use your shovel on it to get another piece of treasure. Head south and into the water. Immediately swim west and when you pass up the double doors swim north and out of the water. Walk up to the gold and grey torpedo at the bottom right on your screen for a message (it needs an arming device). Head north and through the doorway to get the cabin key. Go back into the water. Quickly head slightly to the south and through the first passage you see on the left. Follow it up and then to the west. Keep swimming and you'll eventually see the bottom of a ship. Swim further west and through the hole on the left side of it. Swim past the three columns, then up and through the opening. If you need air badly you can head up and into the room *just before* these three columns. I suggest doing so if you don't have much air at the point where you get to the columns. You come up on the deck of the ship. Collect the gold treasure piece and take care of the alligator. Head over to the right and past the ladder. In the top right corner is a treasure piece for you to collect. Next head over to the door just left of the ladder. Use your cabin key on it. Take the treasure piece that's on the right and arming device that's on the crate. Work your way back to the torpedo you seen earlier (it's the center path east of your current location). Place the arming device on the torpedo and it will take off. This puts another hole in the ship, on the right side of it to be precise. So swim back to the ship and enter the newly formed hole on its right. On the left side of the column is an iron crank. Head out and then go back into the left hole in the ship. Head west, like before, and come up onto the deck again. Head over to the right, only this time you need to scale the ladder. Walk over to the left where you see the arrow pointing to the hole. Place the iron crank into it and then the crane will lower a hammer. Collect the hammer and head back to the beginning of the level where the first body of water was. Once you get to this body of water you have to swim south and you'll get to your plane that crashed into the water. Swim over the nose of the plane and select your hammer from your items. This will break the propeller off. Indy will automatically retrieve it, so don't worry about collecting anything. With the propeller at your disposal, head back and towards the northeast. Go through the green palace once more, through the second body of water, up and around the cavern and to the third body of water. Swim to the left and to the double doors. At your item menu select the propeller blades and this will pry the door open. Go inside. Swim through and up into another palace-like area. Jump up to the right and then kill the scorpion up here. Collect the last two treasure pieces to the left and head through the double doors on the right to complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.07 | Palawan Volcano ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First use your Urgon on the wall just north of you to reveal a red treasure piece. Use the crate over to the left to get up on the platform over here. Up on it, push and pull the box up towards the ladder to diagonally jump up to it. Take it up then use your whip to swing over to the right. Drop down to the lower part of this center area to the crack in the wall. Use your Urgon to break the wall and grab the green treasure piece. Take the ladder below you down and go up to the left once more. Swing over again, only this time jump over the gap and to your right to the third ledge. Use your Urgon on this second cracked wall and then enter. Inside is a red creature. Jump up onto the platform on the right. From over here shoot and kill it with your gun. Then while still here, use your Urgon on the north wall for herb on the left-center and blue treasure piece on the right, then head through the door on the left. In this next area Indy mentions a dead king and a key while the screen pans left. Head north but notice the keyhole and gate as you pass it. Jump to the platform on the left and step on the panel in between the two circles to drop down to a lower floor. Shoot the red creature from this ledge then run and jump over over the lava and to the right. Climb down and get the gold treasure piece. Now head back up and through the doorway. Kill the lizard and climb the ladder. Swing across the lava using your whip. Drop diagonally down to the right then climb the ladder. Kill the red creature up here as you go to the top path a boulder will come towards you. If you quickly run along this wall and out on the ledge you can avoid it. Alternatively, just run back to the platform where you just killed the red creature. After the boulder has been displaced, head to where it came from. Use your Urgon on the crack wall in the corner to retrieve the yellow treasure piece. Run back over to the right and through the hole the boulder made in the wall. Go to the left where you'll see a round button on the wall. Hit it once for a cutscene that shows an opening underwater. Hit it again to see the skeleton move across the water. Hit it a third time for the door on your left to open. Go through it. Jump off and into the water, swim to the right, and up through the opening you just made. Walk down the two steps and jump up onto the platform on your right. Now drop down on the south end to the two ledges. Jump over to the right and climb the ladder. Grab onto the wall north of you (it's scalable). Climb over and down to the lizard to kill it. Jump further right and collect the grey treasure piece. Climb the scalable wall and shimmy over to the platform. First kill the red creature. Next press the button once for a cutscene showing the white gate open. Head over to the right and climb down. Jump over to the square block that's in the top left corner. Use your Urkon on the wall then head through the hole. Navigate north killing the red creature and use your Urgon on the wall. You are now back to where the pool of water is. Now that the skeleton is in jumping distance, jump over to it and get the skull key that's resting on its abdomen area. Equip the key and use it on the keyhole over to the right. Then head through the newly opened doorway. As you go around kill the red creatures and head through the doorway. As you enter the room the door behind you shuts and locks. You are presented with a puzzle that took me a while to figure out... okay, a LONG while. Anyway, push or pull the top crate over to the left-most symbol, which is a "V" on the diagram below. Push or pull the middle crate over to second-to- right symbol, which is also a V. Finally, push or pull the bottom crate to the second-to-left symbol, which is a O. If that's confusing, just look at this diagram to see how the crates should be aligned: #--O--V--O--V Key: O--V--O--#--O # = Crate positions V--#--V--O--V - = Normal tile V = V tile O = O tile When the crates are aligned correctly the door in the top right corner will open, but we're not going there just yet. With this door open, push all crates into the center of the room, just under the small ledge like so: V--O--#--O--V Key: O--V--#--V--O # = Crate positions V--O--#--O--V - = Normal tile V = V tile O = O tile When you've done this correctly you will hear a noise as the camera pans left slightly. Jump up on the small ledge in the middle of the room. Equip your whip and swing over to the left side, then head through the door on the southwest corner of this room. Continue through next door and carefully jump across the pillars so that you don't fall into the lava. Head through the door once on the other side. North of this doorway is a round button on the wall. Hit it and a ledge in the crate room will lower. Go back to this room and head through the doorway on the right that you can now access. The door shuts behind you and there's two V tiles just north of you. Hop over both of them to avoid behind hit by the darts. Head southeast past the gates for a cutscene. Kill the guard that comes out of this gateway and then head through the doorway at the top of the ladder. After you come into this lava fountain room, head left and kill the guard. Head past the door with the monkey on it and in the corner you will see something in the corner of the color grey. It's a lift -- take it up to the next level by walking up to it and hitting the action button. Up here, shoot the guard across the gap. On this same ledge walk to the right side and go south. Climb down that southeast side of the wall that you CAN see. Jump the first gap over to the right, and then walk up the path to approach another scalable wall. Climb up here where the guard used to be and grab the jailer's key and the treasure piece hidden behind the cracked wall up here. Drop down on the carved out ledge south of this key, and then down again. Head further to the right and grab the greyish treasure piece. Climb the wall and kill another guard. While in this right-hand corner use your Urgon on the cracked wall and head through it. Kill this guard to head around the lava to the right. Climb the wall. Shoot the scorpion from the right side and then hop over to the left. Go over and use your Urgon on the wall for a gold treasure piece. Now head back to the lava fountain. Climb this yellow-ish ladder left of the fountain. Jump across the small gap where the lava flows. Equip your whip and launch it towards the statue's right arm. If successful, the arm will pull down, and the door to your right will open. Jump across and enter this door. Take care of the scorpion in here and head against the north wall and to the right. Use your whip to get across the lava (the beam is on this north wall, above). Climb the ladder but take note of the doorway with the two golden rocks next to it. At the top head all the way to the left and into the next frame. Kill the guard bellow and use the jailer's key on the cell to free the prisoner. She leaves but don't follow her. Climb back up and to the right, into the previous frame. Go back over and into the doorway with the golden rocks next it. Sophia is in here since you've just freed her. Talk to here and go down the ladder. Jump across the lava and all the way to the right for a brown treasure piece. Come back to where Sophia is and swing to the right. Sophia will open the gate -- head inside. There's an eye that follows you on the northeast wall. Use your Urgon on the northwest side and head through. Head around and to room with a crate in front of you. Move the crate next to the wall and use it to jump over. Do the same for the second wall and collect Taklit's Part. Use the crate to get back over the wall and head back to the eye that follows you. Equip Taklit's Part and then keep shooting at the eye. Head inside when the door opens to complete the level. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.08 | Teotihuacan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Head through the doorway southeast of where you are. On the left side, walk down while being careful to not step on the tiles with the faces on them (or whatever they are). If you do a blade will come out of the wall and stab you. Collect the red piece of treasure in here, and then go over to the right and step on the yellow platform. This is a lift -- hit the action button to take it to a lower floor. Shoot the two scorpions on this floor. Equip your whip and get close to the spider webs. Strike the webs with your whip to break them down. Come up and around the corner to get the green treasure piece behind some more webs. Then take the lift to the next floor. Head south and around, collecting the blue treasure piece as you do so. Kill the scorpion and hop onto the lift. First, run over to the right to get the silver piece of treasure. Be careful when passing over hear since the blades automatically come out of the wall. Now head down and kill all of the scorpions here. Break the two sets of webs and get on the lift. In the middle of this square room is a big, brown symbol of sorts (I like to refer to this room as the generic term "puzzle room"). Head over to the left and collect the treasure piece. Don't go on the lift just yet as you will come back to it later. The idea of this puzzle is align the two orange circles up on a symbol. Then align the yellow thing in the middle to open the corresponding door at the top of the room. To make things easier we should go ahead and open them all up while we're in here. Use the three plates at the
bottom of the room to open the doors (the order doesn't matter). When you step
on the left plate it moves the outer circle. And when step on the right
platform it moves the inner hand. The inner hand is the trickiest since it
doesn't move in one small amount. You may have to circle the puzzle a few
times before it will line up with the one you want. Finally, when you step on
the middle plate it moves the inner yellow thing in which shines the light. Do
this plate step last since the light is the last thing you need. Once you get
one door open move onto the next symbol. Keep doing this until all doors area
open. With all doors open going into the second door first (second from left).

Door 2: Climb the red rocks but be careful not to step on the tiles with the
pictures on them or blades will stab you. Come up and go left into the next
frame. Get golden cat artifact and the camera will pan up. Go right and back
into the other frame, into the red room. Head back and down into the puzzle
room again. This time go into door four (first on right).

Door 4: Come in and work your way around the spike traps on the floor. Ascend
the leftmost ladder and drop to the one next to it as you get to the top. Drop
to the ledge in the center to get the treasure piece. Come down and work your
way back up here. Jump across to the other platform on the right this time.
Collect the gold treasure piece and jump back across. Take the ladder up and
jump from the small ledge over to the right. Shoot the scorpion up here from
afar. Work your way to the left, take the ladder up, and shoot this other
scorpion also from afar. Jump to the right, take the ladder up, and go into
the next frame on the left. Take the gold bird statue and after you regain
control take the ladder down and get the blue key, which is the Water Key. You
can go back up the ladder and work your way back that way, or you can drop
down and use the path you used earlier. Either way, go into door three when
you get to the puzzle room again.

Door 3: Get the treasure piece and hop into the water. Swim to the right just
a little bit and come up onto the smaller ledge you should see above. Up here
is keyhole. Assuming you picked up the Water Key, place it in the hole to
unlock the door over to the right. Hop back into the water and swim over here.
Before going through the door collect the brown treasure piece just south of
the pool of water. When get into the next room you will notice that everything
is blue. Take the ladder up to the ledge and get the round treasure piece on
this ledge. Instead of continuing up the ladder, equip your whip and swing
across to another treasure piece (but you don't have to do it this way). Get
the piece and climb up to kill the scorpion. Climb the next ladder and head
left into the next frame. Collect the golden fish and light will pour down.
Work your way back to the puzzle room, this time going into door one (first on
left).

Door 1: Climb up and simply place all of the artifacts you found into the
slots. The green one is the cat, the blue one is the fish, and the brown one
is the bird. A gold mirror will appear just below you once all artifacts are
place. Collect it and into the puzzle room once more.

In this puzzle room, head straight down and onto the yellow lift ahead of you
on the left side of the room. Kill both the green guard and the scorpion in
this room. Walk up to the center of the big round thing and use the mirror. It
will open up, now go through to complete the level.

6.09 | Olmec Valley
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the start, climb all the way down to the bottom area and kill the
mountain lion. Head right a bit and use your whip on the wall where the vines
are. Shoot the soldier that's in here and collect the treasure piece next to
the steps. Climb the steps, kill the guy at the top, and go into the left
doorway. Collect the treasure piece that's at the top right. Before leaving
this room take note of the other doorway left of the one you came in at (this
leads to a bridge outside). But head back out and this time go through the
right side doorway at the top of the steps.

Shoot the mountain lion in here and collect the treasure piece located at the
bottom right corner of this large room. Come back over to the left, climb the
steps, and jump the gap. Use your whip to cross the larger gap to the right
side. Proceed through the doorway over here. In here, go right and pass the
palm tree, heading up the narrow path. Pull the gold block away from the
doorway and jump to the other side of it. Now push it all the way down, past
the palm tree, and out of the frame. If you go down into the next frame you
will see what happened -- the block fell to the jungle floor. Go back up and
along the narrow path, through the doorway up here. Go to the right ledge and
jump the gap to the left. Collect the brown figurine treasure piece. Now head
all the way back to where you pushed the gold block.

Drop out onto the gold block. Push it over to the right and on the pressure
plate. A bridge will form above. Head back in the nearby doorway where the
vines were. Climb the steps once again and go into the left doorway. This
time, head further left into the second doorway in this room. Outside, cross
what's now a bridge. Get the green treasure piece and head through the door.
Continue right and through the door over here.

Climb down and in the room at the bottom right is a gold treasure piece. Get
it head out and to the left side of this ground level, using the whip to break
through the vines. Kill the mountain lion and head to the next area where
you'll see a ladder on the north wall. Climb it, kill the scorpion, collect
the treasure piece, and then head through the doorway that's up here.

Shoot the soldier that's in this next area. Go through the door to your left,
collect the gold coin treasure piece in here, then head back out. This time
take the northern doorway. In the next room is a door north of you and one
northwest of you. Go into the northwest door. Pull this second gold block out
from the north wall and push it south through the doorway. It falls off to the
ground floor of this level. Drop out onto it and pull the block out past the
ledge to your right. Push it east, passing the ledge, and up onto the pressure
plate for the second bridge to form.

After this, grab the red treasure piece nearby. At this point your goal is to
work your way back into the caves and to this second bridge. There's two ways
you can do this, but the simplest is to go west and into the cave just past
the first gold block. Climb the steps again and into the left doorway up here.
Work your way around, cross the first bridge again, and eventually you'll come
to a room where you're on a platform with steps leading down. Jump the gap to
the left where a single scorpion is, and head through the doorway.

In this next area you'll see a puddle of water northeast of you. Grab the herb
and continue through. Cross the second bridge and you'll be in a new area with
a few columns of stone on the north wall (these serve no purpose, they're just
there). To the far right is a doorway that leads to the third bridge. Since
you can't cross it just yet you have to go into the middle doorway.

Use your whip to cross the huge gap (if you drop down you will die from the
fall). Work your way right and up into the doorway. Jump onto the platform
going east and through the only door in here. You'll come out to a waterfall.
Climb down the ladder and hop into the water. Swim to the ledge to the right
and climb up. Use the ledges to get up on the right side of the waterfall.
With your hand selected, walk up to the face on the right side of this
waterfall and press the action button. The waterfall will stop and the water
at the bottom will drain out. Climb down to see a third gold block. Push it
south through the doorway and out to the ground level. Drop down to it and
push it onto the pressure plate to form a third bridge above.

Once again you have to work your way back to this bridge. As before, the
simplest way is to go through the cave on the west end of the ground floor.
When you get the room with stone columns on the north wall you are at the
correct place. Go through the rightmost door on the south wall in here. Cross
this third (and final bridge) to collect a blue treasure piece and -- most
importantly -- Azerim's Part. With Azerim's Part in head, it's not time to
finish out the level. Head all the way back through the caves and out to the
ground level where you put the gold blocks.

When you finally exit the caves and are on the ground level, run east past the
first gold block until you see a greyish panel towards the south. Walk onto
it, equip Azerim's Part, and the press the action. Something will happen to
you and it'll be quite obvious when you see it. After this, go through the
door for a little cutscene and the end of the level.

6.10 | V I Pudovkin
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are aboard a cargo ship with no weapons in your inventory, so you must
find a way out of the room and get your stuff back. Approach the door and
press the action button as if you were trying to open it. Indy says he thinks
someone's coming. Run behind the crates on the left side. Stand by the north
wall and on the second row of tiles. When the guard bursts in he will come
left and stand on the first row of tiles. Quickly run down and past him,
heading through the door before he gets a chance to shoot you. As you leave,
the door shuts behind you, locking the guard inside!

You should now be in a room with striped caution paint around a grayish
platform in the center. There are four ventricles in this room (2 rooms to the
left and 2 to the right). First go to the two right side gear rooms to get the
red and green treasure pieces. There's two lockers in the room with the green
treasure--open the one on the right to receive another piece of treasure.

Head over to the bottom left room and pull the level on the wall next to the
door. Quickly run back to the right into the center before the guard shoots
you. Go into the top left room (guard is now gone). Open up the single locker
to get back Taklit's part and the hammer. Head into the center area once more
and go up through the door.

Equip Taklit's part and run up, past the two guards patrolling by the crates.
Go through the door above that leads to a storage room. Open the lock and get
the pistol. Head back out and kill the two guards. Jump on the crates and up
to the catwalk above. Before doing anything else up here, go through the door
on the north wall. Inside is two soldiers patrolling a room with steam coming
out of a pipe. Go left and get the blue treasure piece (to the right side is a
health pack). In the room with the steam pipe outside Urgon's part hidden in
the locker. Head down and out to the catwalk again.

This time on the catwalk, head along either side (it doesn't matter which), as
it snakes into a hallway that connects to the catwalk on both sides. Kill the
two guards in here. For proficiency, go through the door on the right side of
the hall. Kill the lone soldier in here and grab the gray treasure piece
that's on top some crates. Head to the left and kill the guard in the next
frame. Take the gold treasure piece that's also on top some crates.

Head south afterwards where you'll see another guard for you to kill. Notice
the crack in the wall on the right side of the door. Use Urgon's part to break
through it and head inside. Shoot the guard that's patrolling this room with a
steam pipe on the wall. Go right into the next frame where you'll see a bunch
of squares on the floor. Note the ladder on the south end but don't climb down
it. Instead, head up the ladder that's on the north wall.

At the top will be two doors and a ladder. The room on the right has a health
pack and a guard in it. The one on the left has a gold treasure piece and
guard in it. With that, head up the next ladder. Kill the guard up here, then
head left and down.

You're now outside and on the deck of the ship. But you're not free yet -- you
still have a bit of work to down. Shoot the guy out here and look to the right
of the doorway you came from. Use Urgon's part to open a hole in the wall.
Inside is a guard -- kill him and open the locker to get a treasure piece. The
camera wall pan up towards the door. Climb the ladder and try to open the door
to the right. A cutscene will play (Indy hides in the alcove as the Lieutenant
passes by, then listens to the conversation). After the cutscene head back out
to the deck.

Head left and past the pile of crates (you can jump on top of them or you can
go against the bottom rail and walk past them). There's another door over here
that you must go in, but before doing so notice the hatch on the thing left of
this (Indy says he can't use it yet). Inside are three lockers and the middle
one has a treasure piece in it. Head down the ladder that's in here to be in
the generator room. Climb down and kill the guard. Open the lock to collect
Azerim's part and an iron crank. Climb back up the lower ladder and enter the
doorway.

In this larger, bare room is one guard. As usual, kill him then move left
where you'll be on ledge above a room with two guards you must kill. So drop
down and kill them. After that go up to the square on the north wall and use
the iron crank on it (the camera pans up and two Azerim platforms appear).
Next, go down and push the single crate up towards the other crates. Use this
to get up to the platform above. While standing on the tile with the avatar on
it, equip Azerim's part and use it -- sending Indy to the other side. Open the
locker to retrieve your whip and the cabin key. Fly back across and go into
the door below you.

Climb the ladder where you'll see the floor with a bunch of square on it.
Climb the small ladder and go to your immediate left. Shoot the guard in here
and get the treasure piece next to the crates. Head back out and go north.
Again, climb the ladder on the north wall and keep going through until you get
out to the deck again.

Out on the deck again, head to the right, jumping onto the stack of crates to
kill the guy up here. Drop down on the other side and you should see a health
pack next to the building. Use the cabin key that you got on the door over
here. On the north wall inside is a switch (which is locked). Equip the hammer
and use it on this switch. With that done, head back outside and to the
complete opposite (left) side of the deck. The hatch is now open. Use the iron
crank on it, removing the railing just south of you. Stand just at the top of
this ladder leading to the water and select the inflatable raft from your
inventory. If done right, the raft will appear in the water. Climb down and
drop into the raft to complete the level.

6.11 | Meroe
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shoot and kill the two guards patrolling the front of the pyramid. Climb the
left side and stand on the panel to open the door. Climb back down and if you
need a herb there's one up on the right. Head inside the pyramid. Once inside,
walk straight up and stand on the panel in front of the eye that's on the
wall. It will switch and make a noise, then a block on the left side will rise
up. Climb these steps where you will see five columns with a face on each.
Stand to the right of the middle column and push it to the left, revealing a
door. Enter.

Immediately shoot the insect before it has a chance at attacking you. Head
west and then north, going through the door with the mummy head carving over
it. Shoot another insect as you get into this room with water in the center.
Instead of going into the water, head through the other doorway on the left
side of this room.

There's two golden blocks on the north wall, and two rows of eight (8) tiles
with symbols on them. There are two ways you can solve this puzzle in order to
open the door:

(1) Move the right block to the first tile at the bottom, then move the left
block onto the first tile at the top, like so:
   [L][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ]
   [R][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ]

          -OR-

(2) Move the right block to the first tile at the top, then move the left
block onto the last tile at the bottom, like so:
   [R][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ]
   [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][L]

Either method will work, and once the stones are in place the door to the left
will open up, so go through.

In this next room you will see ladder in the center -- do not just fall off or
else you'll die. While standing against the north wall, hold up towards it
(diagonally so that you still go towards the ladder) and jump. If done
correctly, Indy will grab the ladder, allowing you to climb down. Get off the
ladder and hop into the water. Swim to the left and climb up onto the ledge
where you see a lighter shade of water. You'll be in a small room with a
single torch lighting it. Next to the torch is a stone face. Pull it out and
past the flame and enter through the doorway.

You'll see a pyramid-like complex just north. Jump up on the ledge and shoot
the insect that's towards the center. Equip Azerim's part and use the panel in
this area to fly up to the ledge above. Walk up one tile and the stone face
will move out of your way. Proceed through where you'll be in a room with a
bunch of spikes on the floor. There's a treasure piece up to the left and a
herb to the right. The moment you touch the spikes Indy will jump really high
because he's taking damage. So in order to get these two items you *must* take
damage. Your best bet is to get the treasure to the top left (run towards the
top left tile and Indy makes the jump). Then hop back and get the herb. That's
how I do it. Now exit the room once you've collected these two things. From
out on the ledge you want to drop down but to left or right. Get the red
treasure piece on the right side first, then go back up and drop down to the
left side to get the green treasure piece (there's an insect on this side). Be
sure to fall off the ledge to the south so that you don't take damage.

With all three treasures collected from this area, head to the west side of
the south wall and go through the door. You will now be on the other side of
the ladder that you climbed down earlier. Pull the single golden block down
onto the panel to open the door across the way. With the door now open, pull
the block down further and you should see a tile for you to use Azerim's part.
Use it to fly across to the other side, and enter the door that you just
opened.

This next room has multiple rows of spikes. Keep going north and jump over
each row as you go. Get the blue treasure piece, climb the steps, and step on
the tile with the markings on it. It will say "I wonder what that did?" You
will come back to this room, but for now head back out and go to where the
ladder is. Climb down it again but this time you'll notice an opening in the
wall (that's what the switch opened). Go inside and collect the two pieces of
treasure. Go out and hop into the water. You want to work your way back to the
room you were just in (with the multiple rows of spikes). So get to the other
side of the ladder again and enter.

In the spike room again, head north jump up to the first step. This time go
over to the top right corner and pull the block that has a face on it out to
reveal a passage.

When you go inside you'll see a half-pipe. Jump on it and proceed through to
the next area. On this half-pipe are three boulders rolling back and forth.
Avoiding them isn't too hard, but be careful since touching them means instant
death. Jump up on the half-pipe and wait for the first two (the ones
immediately visible) to be synched with each other. Once this happens run
forward to blocks, wait for the faster third boulder to roll past, then run on
past it. The doorway ahead is where you go.

More beds of spikes are in this next room, only configured so that you have to
do a bit of maneuvering to the right side of the screen. Jump along so that
you get the two pieces of treasure and get to the doorway on the other side.
Proceed through where you'll see a bed of spikes forming a square and a golden
block to the right of the doorway (honestly, the golden block serves no real
purpose). Jump over the spikes and onto the pressure panel in the center.
Doing so opens three doors. The first two are connected areas and the third
leads to a completely new part of the level. For now, head through the door
you came from and through the newly opened passage on the north wall. This
leads down and around to the first door that opened. (you've seen this area
earlier on). Work your way down to the ground level, go into the door on the
left side and through the door that leads to the first pool area. Climb the
right side of this room and enter the newly open door to the north.

Inside is a large body or water and a platform floating back and forth. Ignore
the door over to the right for now, it's time to play Frogger! The goal is to
get across the pool without falling in. (If you fall in immediately swim to
the northeast corner and then follow the path through before your oxygen runs
out. You'll surface in the first pool room, so just climb back up and start
over.) Stand still and jump to the first floating platform. When you feel
confident, jump across to the stationary platform. Then jump to the row. Leap
to the left and onto the platform with the treasure piece. Grab it then head
back to the right where the tow platforms form a L shape. Jump to the second
moving platform when it comes and then to the single platform on the right.
From this point on, stay right and move up. When you get to the other side of
the water go through the doorway on the right.

Jump into the water and climb up on the north side (that's all you can do at
the moment). Kill the two scorpions on the steps and use Azerim's part on the
bird panel up here. Walk over to the flames and step on the panel in the
middle. This opens a door a ways back, which we'll go to now. Use Azerim's
part to get back down again (drop off the ledge up here because you can climb
on the opposite side of the pool). Now work your way back to the other side of
the platforms of the big pool room. While on the other side, head through the
door on the right side (not left) to a new area.

Carefully move right along the ledges. Kill the spiders up here and move right
and into the next frame. Use Azerim's part at the end to get down. Go through
the door and kill the spider. Kill the two spiders in the next room and get
the final treasure piece. Step on the panel to see the final door open. It's
time to get to this door and get out of this level. Don't forget the herb on
the way out.

Head two rooms back to where you see the Azerim's part panels you used to get
down from the ledge. But instead of going back up, head left into the next
frame. Drop of this first ledge and then the multiple ledges on the left (or
you could float down via the panel to the far left). Once down, head through
the right side door back to beginning. Take the steps down and move towards
the center where you'll see the newly open door just north of the entrance.
Now all you have to go inside and then into the mine you see to complete the
level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.12 | Nub's Tomb
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pull and/or push the dark brown boulder out of your way. As you head up the
door opens: "Spooky..." Head into the next room and kill the spinning yellow
thing. Get the red piece of treasure and the herb if you need it. Now go
through the other door in this room. When you come out you'll notice a blue
beacon on the green wall, which you'll come back to later. Drop down and get
the treasure piece. Hop back up and proceed right along the wall. When you see
the crate drop to the ledge it's on and move it to the light-colored tile with
the symbol on in. This is in order for the ledge to form between the gap.
After that, pull it back off and use this same crate to get back up. Head
right, hopping the gaps as you do, and into the next frame.

Climb the steps up to the right and jump the gap to get the gold treasure
piece. Jump back and this time go up the set of steps going up. At the top,
move along the wall where you'll see a gray platform floating back-and-forth.
Carefully jump onto it and get to the other side where you can collect the
blue treasure piece. Slowly jump the gaps in between the steps as you work
your way right and then back to the left again at the bottom. There's a
doorway south of here -- go through it.

When you get to this next room you will here music if you have your GBC's
sound turned up. Indy questions the music itself. The two brown tiles in front
of you are beds of spikes only triggered when you step on then (taking a bit
of damage if you do). Hop over them and onto the ledge with the green treasure
piece -- get it and then kill the scorpion on each ledge with your pistol. You
now how to jump back up to the higher ledge without wanting to hit the spikes,
so angle your jump depending on whether you want to go to the left or right of
the spikes. Once up, equip Urgon's part and use it on the cracked will on the
right side. Head on through.

This next room faces you with a puzzle that will test your sound perception
ability. Did you listen to the music in the last room? The gist of the puzzle
is this: The tiles you step on in this room have to make music that matches
what was played in the previous room. It changes each time you're set into
that room so you must learn the notes first. However, since the game cycles
through a few different sets of notes this puzzle is not hard to solve. If you
want to solve it on your own something you may want to keep in mind is that
the middle tile resets the tiles. Two consecutively wrong notes results in an
automatic setback to the previous room.

If you don't want to screw around with it or just can't figure it out, use the
following diagram whilst reading the notes next to and below it:

[ 4 ] Start by stepping on the left tile and going
counter-clockwise in a FULL circle back to
[1,5] [ 3 ] <--- the left tile again. Step on the middle tile
if you mess up and need to reset this music
      [ 2 ] puzzle.

If you're set back to the previous room just keep coming back until this
combination works (this should only take a few tries).

When this music puzzle is solved Indy asks himself "I wonder what that did?"
This is only one part of a three-part puzzle. For now, go right, passing the
white beam and into the next frame. Climb the ledges in a leapfrog manner and
move right were you'll see some ladders attached to the wall. Missing the
ladder means death so try to avoid that by carefully jumping to the first
ladder. While still up high, move right to drop to the second and lower
ladder. While at the top make a move to the third ladder and then over to the
platform. Approach the cracked, green block that's in front of a big, brown
beam and music will play. Use Urgon's part to crack it in order to reveal
Nub's part! Time to backtrack a bit.

Head left and backtrack towards the beginning of the level. This means that
you'll pass the ladders again, the music puzzle, and a few other rooms. When
you get in the frame where you pushed the wooden crate onto the panel, head
across the room and stop near the doorway. Equip the newly-acquired Nub's
part and use it on the blue beacon that's next to the doorway. When you do an
electric noise you'll hear and the beacon will turn light blue. Part two of
this puzzle is solved.

Now head back to where you got Nub's part (past the music puzzle). When you
get there you want to go right this time, so move to the right side of the
ledge. You can either use the single ladder to climb down or you can walk off
the plank-like ledge up here. When you get down you will see another blue
beacon on the wall next to the ladder. Use's Nub's part on it like you did
with the previous one. Again Indy will ask "I wonder what that did?," and
we'll find out shortly since the last part of this puzzle is complete. You now
want to exit this room by going through the path at the top right corner
that's directly right of the beacon. But before doing so you may want to push
the block to the ledge and collect the health pack.

In the next frame is a large gap that you need to swing across with the help
of your whip. Collect the treasure piece on the other side then move to the
next frame. Get onto the moving platform when it gets one space away from the
other side jump to the ledge, moving to the next frame. In here you'll see a
big, open door on the ledge above. This door being open is a result of the
three-part puzzle that you solved earlier. Now climb up and swing across,
going through the door.

In this next room you'll see a yellow platform with a swirl symbol on it. We
will deal with this later, and for now head right and through the doorway.
Jump the numerous gaps enter the next frame. There's the familiar bird symbol
on the floor and a brown treasure piece on the platform across the way. First,
stand on the panel and use Azerim's part to get to the far ledge. Hit the
switch and this will move a platform up. Use Azerim's part once more to get
back over. Walk over the platform and get the treasure. Now, stand the square
part of the platform and press the A (action) button. Low and behold, this is
a lift that takes you down!

This new area is akin to a dungeon. Use Urgon's part on the cracked wall right
next to the lift. Proceed through where you'll spot another blue beacon on the
wall. Use Nub's part on it as usual and after the crate falls Indy likens the
beacon to a magical sparkplug. Head back to the previous room and use the
crate to get up on the ledge. In the next room is another one of those
spinning yellow things. Destroy it and move onward.

Shoot the yellow thing next to the brown-ish bird statue and collect the
treasure piece as well. Go right and into the next frame. Pull the boulder
away from the wall and move it onto the blue circle. Head north into the
doorway nearby where you'll see a single golden bird statue with the left wing
missing. Move the boulder onto the blue circle in here. Head back out and pass
the brown statue going west. Move this third boulder onto the blue circle and
head through the door where you'll see a fourth boulder to move onto a blue
circle. With that done, activate the beacon with Nub's part. Move east into
the next frame and swing across the gaps with your whip. Hit the switch over
here and a cutscene will show the right -- and only -- wing fall from the
golden bird statue. Backtrack to this room and get the wing (remember: head
east past the brown statue). Collect the golden wing that fell down and head
back to the brown statue again. Head south through the door. Getting back to
the lift, take it up and move west to the room with the swirl tile again.

This time we will work our way up instead of leaving the room. If you step on
the swirl tile you'll learn that it's like a spring board that pushes you up
into the air with a damaging affect. Instead, position the nearby crate at the
south end of this ledge so that you can safely drop back down. Climb the steps
up right and swing to the left to collect the gold coin treasure piece on this
ledge. Drop to the crate below. Now push it onto the swirl tile to see it fly
up onto the ledge -- it's magic! Climb the steps to the right and swing to the
left again, only this time you will be standing on the crate which elevates
you. Swing across again to left onto the ledge. At the top of the ladder is
one switch that, in conjunction with the switch across the way, opens the door
above. It's timed so you will need to hit this switch then hurry to the right,
jump the gap, and hit the second switch before the time runs out. When the
door opens take either small ladder up and get the final treasure piece that's
on the left side up here. Now go through the door up here.

When you get into the next room Indy states: "If that bird could fly she'd go
round in circles. Something's missing here." And that "something" is the wing
you should have gotten earlier. Walk over to the northeast corner and place
the golden wing on the statue. Indy walks to the lift in here which now works
thanks to the wing placement. Take it down by pressing the A button (action).

This is the final room in the level. Avoid the green tiles in here because
they shock you. Stay close to the walls while finding and killing the four
spinning yellow enemies in here. With them out of the way, it's time to work
on activating the exit. There's four beacons in this room: one in every
corner, and the bottom two are in alcoves so they're harder to spot. In no
particular order, run along the sides of the room, activating each beacon with
Nub's part. Do it fast enough and the exit on the pyramid in the center will
lower down. Once this happens move to the south region then hop the green
tiles from the dark yellow ones. Climb the steps and walk on either of the
blue tiles to complete the level.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.13 | Infernal Machine
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the start, shoot the spinning yellow thing nearby. Move north through the
doorway and climb the ladder on the left. Take care of the yellow thing up
here and move right through the door to come out to the level above the room
you were just in. Push the crate to the left, jump over it, the move it down
onto the gold tile to activate the portal below. You should now get down to
this portal by dropping down and taking minor damage or backtracking. Stand on
it with nothing equipped then press the action button (A) to be taken to
another area.

In the next area, kill the spinning yellow thing by shooting it with your
pistol. Move north through the brown doorway where you'll see Sophia Hapgood
trapped in a gold sphere over to the left. You can't say or do anything for
her now so just head over to the right, kill the enemy, and go up through the
doorway. While staying on this level, move up and right to get to the ladder.
Climb it, get the blue treasure piece. While still up on this platform, walk
over to the beacon on the wall and activate it to receive Nub's part. With
Nub's part taken out, hit the action button again to read the panel: 'Thus Do
I Life Man To New Heights' -- this is a reference to Azerim's part which you
will have to obtain and place in here since Turner got the three parts mixed
up. Climb back down and head through the door that's to the right of the
ladder. To get the treasure piece in here you must drop to the platform that
it's on then make a careful jump to the platform to the right. Climb the
ladder and exit back out.

Okay, you see where the two bird tiles are in here? Drop down where the lower
one is and head through the door to the southeast. In the next room is a
ladder on each side, a door to the right that leads to some health packs, and
a third door to the southeast. If you want or need the health, shoot the
spinning yellow thing and go through the right door. Even if you don't, either
way, you need to go through the southeast door. In the next area, climb the
short ladder and collect the green treasure piece up here. Shoot the yellow
thing across the way and carefully jump the gap. Over to the left is another
door that leads the next area. In front of you is another yellow enemy and you
will see a door on the other ledge to your left. Shoot the yellow thing and
jump the gap to the first ledge. Do not go in this door just yet -- we will
come back to it. For now, go further left by jumping to a third platform. Go
into the door that leads to the portal room, which will be discussed in the
next paragraph.

The portal room contains what appears to be five portals laid out like so:

 [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] <-- Portal diagram

When you step into a portal it takes you to another area in the level, just
like a doorway would only not a doorway, if that makes sense. Anyway, the next
paragraphs will walk you through the rest of the level and will be largely
based off this portal room since it's your hub to the rest of the level.

First thing you want to do is head right, climb the ladder, and get the silver
treasure piece. Now walk left towards the portals and collect the green emrald
on the step. Approach the portals and use the simple portal diagram above for
a reference in the rest of this walkthrough.

Go into portal 3, shoot the yellow thing, and enter the door on the other
side. Leapfrog to the right by jumping atop the columns in here. Collect the
gold treasure piece on the other side get Urgon's part from the beacon on the
wall. Use Nub's part on beacon by standing in front of it and selecting it
from the menu. This will lower one column in the cutscene (which we'll come to
later). Backtrack out to where the portals are.

We're leaving the portal room for now, so climb down the ladder on the right
and exit through the door at the southwest corner. Jump back across to the
door on the right, and this time go inside. Shoot the yellow thing and head
through the door opposite to the entrance. In this next room you'll see a
bunch of yellow patterns on the walls and ceilings. Move right and then up
towards another spinning yellow enemy. Kill it and climb the ladder. Jump the
gap to the right blue platform. Get Azerim's part from the beacon and then
place Urgon's part inside for a second column being lowered in the cutscene.

With Azerim's part in hand, it's time to backtrack a bit before going back to
the portal room. Exit back out and instead of jumping to the left platform as
if you were going to the portal room, go right because you want to go towards
the beginning of this level. When you get to the bird tile use Azerim's part
to float up to the other one above. Climb the ladder nearby and place Azerim's
part into the beacon to lower a third and final column in the cutscene.

Head back to the portals and this time go through portal number 2. Kill the
lone yellow thing in here just before progressing north into the next room.
There's three walls blocking your path to the right. Hit the switch three
times to move all of them. Shoot the enemy on the other side and head through
the door. Jump the gaps because falling in the liquid below means death. When
you see the yellow enemy, shoot it from across the way. After that, jump to
this platform and swing across using the peg sticking out of the northern
wall. In the next room is another yellow guy -- kill him and head up through
the door. Collect the red treasure piece after you kill the yellow thing. Move
north kill the yellow enemy, then move to the last room in this area. Run left
once in here where you'll see a ladder. Take it down and then run to the right
where you'll see the goods. On three platforms are two treasure pieces and a
blue sapphire. Collect them and head all the way back to the portal room.

Back at the portal, head through number 5. Kill the expected yellow enemy in
the intermission room before moving into a much larger area where you'll see
yellow horses painted on the walls. Climb the first two ladders on either side
and then the single ladder on the column towards the middle. Leap to the left
side and collect the treasure piece. Leap all the way to the opposite side and
climb the ladder. Work your way up the next two ladders and to the top. Move
right and into the door. Climb the ladder, jump the gap, and swing to the left
with your whip. When you get to the top you'll see two tiles with jewel
symbols on them. Before doing anything, take care of the yellow enemy over to
the right. Walk over to the jewel tiles again. The green emerald goes on the
right side and the blue sapphire goes on the left. Note that you must press
against the wall when placing them. When both are placed the door will open,
so head inside. With your gun equipped, head to the left side of this room and
shoot the soldier. He drops Taklit's part. Collect it and head back to the
portal room one last time.

When you get to the portal room again, go through portal 1. Kill the yellow
enemy inside and advance to the next room. When you arrive in here spikes will
rise up on the platform, preventing you from jumping on it without death. But
we have Taklit's part in hand, so this won't be a problem. Equip it and hold
down the action button (A) to activate it. While still holding it, jump to the
spiked platform and then to the next platform. Now climb down the ladder,
swing across, and then collect the last treasure piece just before heading
through the door down here. You come out to a ledge that you may notice from
the cutscenes if you look to the right side of your screen (the three columns
used to prevent you from jumping there). Jump the gap to the right and place
Talkit's part inside the beacon. A cutscene involving Sophia will play and the
level will be over.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.14 | Aetherium
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the cutscene is over you'll find that you can't go anywhere just yet.
Equip your whip and stand at the edge of the tiles. Hit the blue and green
thing that's across the way with your whip to retrieve it. It's called the
Tool From Beyond. Now go to the left and use this on the yellow beacon on the
panel. The camera will pan up for a cutscene then a door opens behind you. Go
through it.

The level is cakework from here on out. There's two portals on each side of
the door that you just came through. Go into each one (starting from the
rightmost). They all look like Aztec settings and don't match the level it
all, so it's quite strange to see them. Regardless, find the distinguishible
tile in each area, stand on it, then use the Tool From Beyond (select it while
standing on the tiles). You'll be warped to an specific area in a previous
level -- most of which should be familar to you. Don't move from the ledges.
Simply use the Tool From Beyond on these beacons to be warped back. Move onto
the next area. Do all four areas and the doors in the leftmost room will open
up.

When you walk through the doors you're transported to a part of a previous
level. Walk through the door out on this ledge. Now walk over to the big X
tile for some steps to appear north of your location. Climb the steps and use
the Tool From Beyond on the beacon at the top. A cutscene will play. After the
cutscene go back down the steps and through the door you came in at. A
cutscene will play signaling the end of the level and game. Technically.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.15 | Return to Peru
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(NOTE: Please refer to section 5.00 to see how to play this level.)
The Aztec theme continues on with this level. Kill the spider up to your right
and collect the blue treasure piece that's in the corner. Now go to the
southeast corner and hop into the water. Quickly swim to the right side and
climb up into a room with lava in it. Get the herb if you need it. Head up
along the lava pathway, being careful not to fall in. Jump your way north and
after the floating platforms is a piece of treasure that's similar to the
color of the pathway (it's on the right side). Get that and then get the red
treasure piece further up.

Head back out and surface from the water by swimming to the left. Jump up to
the ledge and then run all the way over to the southwest corner (kill the two
spiders along the way). Hop into the water, swim through the leftmost path,
and surface inside a room after passing the piranha.

Kill the spider before grabbing the gold piece of treasure in the northwest
corner. Then head right, past the herb where you'll want to come to a stop.
While standing still, wait for the spider to come over to you and shoot it.
Then carefully jump over the tiles with the circle symbols on them -- stepping
on them activates darts in the wall. Once on the other side, collect the green
piece of treasure in the corner, and then head through the doorway on the
right side first. Shoot the spider up on the ledge. Equip your whipe and swing
across the lava and up to the ledge. Get the treasure piece up here. Swinging
back down is a bit trickier than usual. Line up at the bottom of the black
line that you can see on the lip of the ledge (it's just below the middle),
then swing across.

Exit the room and this time go through the north door. Indy will question his
location. Head north where you'll see green double doors. Head left where
you'll see a bunch of arrows on the floor. Get the gold piece of treasure
before doing anything. The object of this puzzle is to run along the path in
the same way the arrows point (there is no time limit). Step by the box in the
center while standing on the arrows and you'll hear a noise. Now follow the
path of the arrows all the way around. And as you do, you'll continually hear
a noise to let you know that you're doing it correctly. If you turn away from
the direction of the arrows or step off the path, the puzzle will reset and
you'll have to move to the center and start over. Once you complete the puzzle
the green doors east of here will open. Go through them but don't forget the
health pack that appears in the center if you need it.

In the next room, move west along the path and you'll see a ladder and a
single tile with a circle on it. Step on the tile and collect the gold
treasure piece that drops down. Now climb the ladder. Before climbing the
second ladder, swing across to the right and get the treasure piece that's
over there. Swing back across and go up the second ladder this time. Move east
once up here and kill the spider that gets in your way. When you get to the
other side jump on the smallest ledge and use it to get to the higher one on
the left. Swing across the gap, shoot the spider on the next ledge, and jump
the next two ledges. After that, proceed left into the next, and final, frame
of the game.

Shoot the spider and climb down either ladder. Don't grab the gold eagle
statue that you see just yet. Instead, move south past it and jump over the
lava to get the last treasure piece that's in the southwest corner of the
room. Jump back over and collect the Peruvian Idol to officially complete the
game.

Get Yourself Stuck:
On the Shambala Sanctuary level go to the bell tower and where the spinning
bell ringer is. Go to the left side of the screen and towards the wall. Push
over and Indy will go through the wall and drop down. You will die but you
will be stuck at the same time, regardless. Unless of course you're using an
infinite health code then you're just stuck.

Mysterious 9:
On Return To Peru in the very last room you can see a 9 in the top left corner
of the room. It's in the void area of the map so I can't get to it nor do I
know what it's for.
