Final Word ====================================================================== Opening ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About This Guide ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a very small guide to SpongeBob SquarePants - Volume 1 on the Game Boy Advance, and that is due to the fact that there isn't much about this game, and therefor not much to talk about or create a "guide" to. I will still do it though, as I like creating guides for small and obscure games and I think they need more documentation on the web than what currently exists. FOOTNOTE: I have recieved some negative feedback from a few about this guide, which stated that it is unnecessary for two reasons: 1. There is already a guide which covers Game Boy Advance Video whole, along with all the games, which is much more useful. 2. The game is so simple. I would like to state that I am not writing these guides to simple games because I believe someone might actually have difficulty with them or will need a guide. I am writing these to document their features, and provide information about them to those who cannot find it elsewhere. I don't really expect people to be stuck with this game, but I do suspect that some who have not played it may be curious about it, and because this is such an obscure title, they may not be able to find any information about it anywhere. Additionally, just because there is already one guide for a game doesn't mean that others cannot create one too. Look at some of the most popular games on GameFAQ's FAQs section, and there's tons of guides. Ending note: I don't just write "guides" for simple games like this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Legal Information ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This guide is work of, and copyright DeepFriedBurger. The game itself has the same issues as regular Game Boy Advance Video Cartridges: colour bleeding, heavy compression, artefacting, a frame- rate of around eight frames per second and the low resolution of the Game Boy Advance screen across all models. NOTE: SpongeBob SquarePants - Volume 1, as all Game Boy Advance Video Cartridges, cannot be played on the Game Boy Player accessory for GameCube. This is intentional and Nintendo stated that it was made that way as to avoid illegal copying of the content within. Because, you know, pirates and bootleggers would certainly copy low quality video from cartridges that were sometimes more expensive than the cost of the film in much higher quality that was charged from some retailers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Controls ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [Menus] D-PAD..................Make selection A......................Confirm B......................Back [Videos] D-PAD UP...............Button lock (Hold for three seconds to enable, repeat process to disable.) Below is a short part of each episode's plot, and the episode's original airing date in the USA. ============================== Bubblestand ============================== Aired: July 24, 1999 SpongeBob builds a "Bubblestand" outside of his house, where people can come and blow bubbles, for one quater a pop. Patrick spends some time their and SpongeBob teaches him a supposed "technique" to blow bubbles. What will happen when he tries to do the same with Squidward, though? ============================== Ripped Pants ============================== Aired: July 17, 1999 SpongeBob accidentally rips his pants at the Muccel Beach while attempting to impress the crowd, and gains from it when the citizens of the town embrace this, and so SpongeBob starts to do this more often and in comedic ways... that is until he takes things too far. ============================== Jellyfishing ============================== Aired: July 31, 1999 Patrick and SpongeBob go jellyfishing. Meanwhile, not far away, Squidward has an nasty accident while riding his tandem bicycle as a result of a jellyfish. When an injured Squidward returns home, SpongeBob and Patrick take him jellyfishing, which turns out not to be such a good idea... ============================== Plankton! ============================== Aired: July 31, 1999 Mr. Krabs' business rival, Plankton is after the heavily guarded secret formula for Krabby Patties, the Krusty's Krab's mainstay and landmark food item. His evil knows no limits and he'll do anything to get his hands on it... even if that involves some "slight" mind control. ====================================================================== Closing ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Credits ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For creating this guide... - Me, DeepFriedBurger For the distribution of SpongeBob SquarePants... - Nickelodeon For the creation of SpongeBob SquarePants, and who will never be forgotten... - Stephen Hillenburg For creation of this game... - Mejesco For hosting GameFAQs, and by extention this guide... - GameFAQs For also hosting this guide, and for existing... - Neoseeker And, for reading this guide... - You A hearty "Thank you!" to you all. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Final Word ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, that's another guide (hopefully) well done. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing most of it, having my PC crash, and having to start the thing again. Seriously though, it was quite fun typing this up, PC crashing aside. I'll probably continue to update this guide in the future if it needs it, and I'll certainly continue writting and submitting guides and other content to GameFAQs and Neoseeker, and perhaps some other websites. But, for this guide, at least for now, it is the end, and preferably a good one. ======================================================================
