The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Item Guide Introduction This guide is intended to be a quick reference for players that are familiar with this and/or other Zelda games. As such I will not go into details on the story on how to go through dungeons. This guide is intended to let a player know what items are obtainable and/or convenient. I do not detail how to get all treasures or chests, since many will be Kinstone Pieces, Mysterious Shells or Rupees. I will not go into detail regarding when Kinstone Fusions can be done, with the exception of ones that grant important (non-farmable) items. Players should be checking for possible fusions after each dungeon. Item names with an asterisk (*) after the name indicates that the described step can or should be done at that time, but the item cannot be gotten yet. Several items of the same type share the same name. I have distinguished these items by labeling them Big, Big(ger), and Big(est) when appropriate. -01- Before Deepwood Shrine Smith's Sword Small Shield Piece of Heart [1] - after the cut scene with the talking cap (Elzo), go past the sparkling stump south and west to get it. Piece of Heart [2] - in the Northeast part of the Minish Village is a pier, and at the end of it is this item. -02- Deepwood Shrine Gust Jar Piece of Heart [3, 4] Heart Container Earth Element -03-
 Before Cave of Flames Bomb Bag - in the hut west of Minish village. Stone Marker (Wind Crest) #1 - Minish Woods, just north of where you get Bomb Bag. Kinstone Bag - automatic once you return to Hyrule Town. Piece of Heart [5] - Southeast of Link's house after Kinstone Fusion #1. Stone Marker (Wind Crest) #2 - South Hyrule Field, by the northeast corner of Link's house. Tiger scroll #1 - speak with Swiftblade and he will teach you Spin Attack. Big Wallet - Buy for 80 rupees. Beedle (Picolyte merchant) - clean the dust off of rug in town center. Big(est) Wallet* - enter the yellow rectangle house and fuse with Mayor Hagen. This dries a puddle in Lon Lon Ranch. Stone Marker (Wind Crest) #3 - Hyrule Town, just to the right of the north exit. Bottle #1 - From the northwest exit of Hyrule Town is a ladder. Take it down and bomb the right wall. In that room is a Deku Scrub. Reflect its attack and you can buy the bottle for 20 rupees. Piece of Heart [6] - at the far left side of Mt Crenel, after using Elzo and whirlwinds to float over the gap, go up, bomb the cliff, and bomb the blocks inside to claim it and two chests (50 Rupees and a Kinstone). Piece of Heart [7] - on Mt. Crenel follow the sign up to the wall and place a bomb on the only flat section of ground. It opens a cave with the item and some fairies. Grip Ring - after another whirlwind gap take the ladder up and all the way right to bomb a wall. Inside is a Deku Scrub that will sell it to you for 40 rupees. Big Bomb Bag - on the Crenel Wall go right and you will see a small ledge with a sign. Bomb the wall next to it to open an adventurer's spring. Throw a bomb into it. You will be asked a question, answer "Neither" and the item will be granted to you. Stone Marker (Wind Crest) #4 - just west of Melari's Mine. -04- Cave of Flames Cane of Pacci Piece of Heart [8] Kinstone Piece x5 Heart Container Fire Element -05- Before Elemental Sanctuary White Sword - speak with Melari and it is yours. Boomerang - buy it for 300 rupees. Tiger scroll #2 - speak with Swiftblade in Hyrule Town and he will teach you Rock Breaker. Light Arrows* - in the yellow house on the northwest side of Hyrule Town is Stranger. Fuse with him and a teleporter will appear in South Hyrule Field. Take the teleporter to a room with two chests, both Kinstones. Go up stairs for another Kinstone in a chest. Use Gust Jar on the ghost (move left/right with it) until it is sucked in. Speak with Gregal and he will give you 100 Mysterious Shells. Piece of Heart [9] - activate the switch in the northeast corner of Trilby Highlands to connect the bridge, then use it to cross into North Hyrule Field. In the northwest of this area is a rock by a sign. Bomb it and take the ladder or cave entrance, and go down some stairs to get it. Piece of Heart [10] - In the northwest corner of Lon Lon Ranch is a hole for you to use Cane of Pacci. Go up into Veil Falls and follow the path to the item. Big(er) Wallet - go south to the northeast corner of Eastern Hills and use Cane of Pacci on the hole. Go right, into the tree, and down some stairs to find another adventurer's spring. The fairy asks for all your rupees. Say yes and she will give you the item. Piece of Heart [11] - in Hyrule Town cafe use Cane of Pacci on the large pot for a minish portal. After shrinking exit, go east on the bridge, and up to the inn. Climb the vine, enter between the lines of flowers, enlarge, and claim the item. -06- Elemental Sanctuary White Sword (Two Elements) -07- Before Fortress of Winds Piece of Heart [11] - go to the base of Mt. Crenel, climb all the way up keeping to the right, and enter the cave. Use the element clone to open the door and claim the item. Tiger scroll #3 - in the same room speak with Grayblade and he will teach you Roll Attack. In the same room are two chests, each containing 50 rupees. Final bottle* - Eenie, a farmer in Eastern Hills, is available for fusion as part of a series needed for this item. Big(est) Wallet - after talking with the minish in the shoe store, and getting the key to the Lon Lon Ranch, you can pass and get this item from the fusion you should have done with Hagen in. Piece of Heart [12] - from the stump at the north of Lon Lon Ranch take the whirlwinds south and over the water. Go right, down, and stay left to find it. Wake-up Mushroom - buy from Syrup for 60 rupees. Goron merchant (Kinstone shop) - use whirlwinds to reach the southwest corner. Go inside the cave made by the Goron, down the stairs, and fuse with said Goron to make the Goron merchant appear. Pegasus Boots - present Wake-up Mushroom to the shoemaker to get them. Tiger scroll #4 - speak with Swiftblade to learn Dash Attack. Bottle #2 - in the cafe push the cabinet to the left, shrink, climb the revealed ladder to a hole. Go right over the narrow bridge to the shop. Get a chest with 10 Shells and continue down. Grow, take the bottle of dog food to the house east of Lon Lon Ranch. After emptying the contents, you get the item. Piece of Heart [13] - at the north end of the yard ran the tree to make it a stump. Use it to shrink and got to the minish area to the right and get the item at the far end. Big(ger) Bomb Bag - buy for 600 rupees Piece of Heart [14] - in the lower right corner of Hyrule Castle Garden clear the shrubs to find a ladder. Take it and go up to find the item. This is the home of Grimblade. Piece of Heart [15] - the right fountain in Hyrule Castle Garden (opened by Kinstone fusion). Gold Kinstone #1 - northwest from the entrance to Castor Wolds is a cave. Inside is a fight with Dark Nut who guards it. Bow - From Dark Nut's cave climb the vine, go northeast, and descend the vine. Go west, shrink, through the minish area, into the hole, defeat the enemies and get the item. Piece of Heart [15] - from the Bow area go right and use it to shoot the eye statue. Once defeated climb the vine. Use the whirlwind to reach the area south of where you got the Bow. Go south to find a grave. Push it up to find the item. This is Swiftblade the First's home. Stone Marker (Wind Crest) #5 - go right from the grave to find it. Gold Kinstone #2 - shoot another eye statue and climb the vine behind it. Go northeast to a whirlwind and use it to reach the cave to the southwest. Inside is the item. Gold Kinstone #3 - go north to Dark Nut's cave, and climb the vine. Take the north east path to a vine and defeat another eye statue. Go north to a cave where the item can be found. Piece of Heart [16] - at the second stump shrink and go left. Go down the vines to a hole in the wall. Follow the path to the item. -08- Fortress of Winds Piece of Heart [17] Kinsyone Piece x7 Mole Mitts 100 Rupees 80 Mysterious Shells Heart Container Ocarina of Wind -09- Before Temple of Droplets Piece of Heart [18] - play the Ocarina and go to Lake Hylia area. Fuse Kinstones with that minish to open a cave in Western Woods. Enter said cave and claim the item. Piece of Heart [19] - in Hyrule Town go to the shop next to the shoemaker's called Simon's Simulations. Pay the 10 rupees and defeat the monsters to get the item. Book #1 - go to the house northwest of Anju's cucco pen. Read the note, go next door, and speak with her. Take an empty bottle to the river and get some water. Return to the house with the couple and use the water on the fireplace. Shrink, go through the extinguished fireplace and cross to the other house. Go to the top of the bookshelf and push the book to the floor. Grow and retrieve the book. Book #2 - go to the blue-roofed house on the west side of town. After speaking with Dr. Left, get more water and extinguish the fireplace. Shrink in the watermill and speak with the minish in Dr Left's house for the clues on what to do next. Take the path through the extinguished fireplace. Go through the yellow-roofed house and over the narrow bridge. Get past the cats to a vine, and enter the hole at the side of the fountain. In that cave get the Power Bracelets. Return to Dr. Left's house and push the cabinets to reach the hole above. Use Gust Jar to reveal elemental tiles and use them to make a vertical clone. Take the clone to the right and onto the book to make it fall. Grow and retrieve the book. Book #3 - go to Mayor Hagen's house and speak with him. Use Pegasus Boots to knock the masks off the wall, flip pot, shrink, and enter hole in the wall. The minish here will tell you the book's location. Fly to Lake Hylia go left into Lon Lon Ranch and use the whirlwinds to reach the southeast corner. Next to the sign in the Minish Woods that tells you not to dig, use Mole Mitts to dig into a cave. A Kinstone Piece can be found in a chest. Ram the tree north of Hagen's cabin, shrink, and use the minish area to enter the cabin. Push the cabinet to the right, climb up and push the book to the floor. Grow and retrieve the book. Final bottle* - fuse Kinstones with a symbol on the wall beneath Syrup's house. This calls a second Goron to aid the first. Flippers - speak with Librari and he will send you down to find them. Piece of Heart [20] - in Hyrule Town you can now complete the last (10th) round of retrieving Anju's cuccos. After successfully completing it she gives you the item along with others. Piece of Heart [21] - fuse with the boy (Zill) by the shoemaker's shop three times to make three lily pads appear in Castor Wilds. Shrink on the stump next to where you got the Bow, take the lily pad to the south. Head east, pass through another hollow log, and go southeast to the water in the corner where a cave can be found. The left path leads to a Kinstone, and the second from the right leads to the nest room. Fight your way past the enemies and push some blocks to claim the item. Large Quiver - buy for 600 rupees. Magic Charm #1 - you can only get 2 of the 3 (Farore - Attack+Defense, Din - Attack, Nayru - Defense). Fuse with Farore to make Gorman appear. Speak with him and then speak to one of the three to make that one the occupant. Once chosen, go to said house and speak to them with an empty bottle to get the item. Magic Charm #2 - speak with Gorman in the northwest part of town. Next fuse with carpenter to the right of the post office (Bremor). Leave and re- enter the town twice, and the new house will be built. Speak with Gorman in front of the new house, then select the new tenant and she will give you her charm. Piece of Heart [21] - in Hyrule Town go to the watermill and shrink. Go through the fireplace in Dr. Left's house, through the yellow-roofed house, past the cats, down the vine, and into the hole in the side of the fountain. Swim left from the entrance to get the item. A chest containing 100 rupees can be found north of that. Bottle #3 - go to South Hyrule Field and fuse with Smith. This makes a chest appear in Eastern Hills. Open the chest to get the item. Magical Boomerang - on the east side South Hyrule Field use the Cane of Pacci on the hole and speak with Tingle. Fuse with him. In Lon Lon Ranch go through the cave to find Ankle and fuse with him. In Trilby Highlands cross the western bridge north and dig into a cave. Two chests here have a Kinstones and on the north wall is another symbol on the wall you should fuse with (Final Bottle* 3rd Goron). Go up the ladder and fuse with Knuckle. Go to Lake Hylia, walk around to reach David Jr. and fuse with him. Go to North Hyrule Field and activate all four switches. Go down the ladder that appears and claim the item. Yellow Picolyte - buy Lon Lon Milk and go to Minish Village. Enter the barrel and speak with the minish in the top right twice, giving him the milk. Later the flowers will bloom and Beedle will be selling the item. Piece of Heart [22] - west of the Minish Village, cross the puddle and go north to three holes. The one on the right has a Kinstone, the middle has a Kinstone and the left has a Kinstone and the Piece of Heart. Piece of Heart [23] - in the southern part of Eastern Hills is a minish mushroom house. Fuse with the resident to make a bean stalk grow. Climb to get 200 Shells, 200 Rupees and the item. Final bottle* - dig into a cave under the farmers' house to fins another symbol on the wall you can fuse with. This makes the 4th Goron appear. Piece of Heart [24] - go to Mt Crenel and fuse with Melari (and any other minish there). Climb the Crenel Wall and the bean stalk to claim the item and some rupees. Piece of Heart [25] - wile atop Crenel Wall go to the left of Crenel Hermit's home and dig into a cave. Make your way further in and claim the item. Final bottle* - in the cave next to Crenel Hermit's home, dig all the way to the back right to find another symbol and fuse with it. This makes the 5th Goron appear. Blue Picolyte - go to Mt Crenel Base and fill a bottle with the Mineral Water. Piece of Heart [26] - in South Hyrule Field go to the southwest area and ram the tree. Use the stump to shrink, cross the bridge, go down the vine, swim up and enter the hole to claim the item. Piece of Heart [27] - in Castor Wilds swim to the cave in the upper right corner and enter. Push the blocks on the right side to get to the item. Piece of Heart [28] - go to North Hyrule Fields and take the northeast exit. Swim to the clearly visible item. Large(r) Quiver - go to Wind Ruins, shrink on the first stump, enter the hole, and fuse with the minish there. Climb the bean stalk to claim the item. Piece of Heart [29] - go to Stockwell's house at the north end of Lake Hylia. In the pond to the left dive down to find the item. Piece of Heart [30] - swim to the south end of the lake to claim the item. Piece of Heart [31] - swim to the right and enter the tree to find the item. Tiger scroll #5 - in the tree speak with Waveblade who will teach you Peril Beam. Piece of Heart* - go to the stump near the Mayor's cabin, swim north, up a vine, and into a hole. Speak with the minish inside then fuse with him. This makes a bean stalk grow that you can reach later. -10- Temple of Droplets 50 Rupees, 100 Rupees Kinstone x6 Flame Lantern 100 Mysterious Shells Water Element Heart Container -11- Before Elemental Sanctuary Tiger scroll #6 - go to Grimblade's home in Hyrule Castle Garden, light the torches in his room, and learn Sword Beam from him. -12- Elemental Sanctuary White Sword (Three Elements) -13- Before Royal Valley Orange Picolyte - go to Lake Hylia and go south to Syrup's house. Get some Red Potion and take it to the minish researcher in Minish Village. Remote Bomb - fuse with the minish elder (Gentari). Go west and speak with Belari, who will offer to swap your Bombs for these. Big(est) Bomb Bag - fuse with Belari to make a chest appear in Wind Ruins. Go there and open the chest for the item. Rupees - 1 - go to Hyrule Town go to the Mayor's house, go right, and down the ladder. Make clones, push the block, and push the stone into the hole. 2 - dig into the wall under the Mayor's house. On the way get three chests contain a Kinstone and take the ladder. A chest here contains 100 Rupees. Push the stone into the hole. 3 - fall down the well and go right. A chest here has 100 Rupees. Push the stone into the last hole, pull the pillar out and push it to the side. Pull the elevated chest down to the hole and push it in to get the 200 Rupees in the chest. Bomb your way up to another chest for 100 Rupees in the next chest. The stairs above come out behind the statue in the school, so you don't need to go there. -14- Royal Valley Large(st) Quiver - once in Royal Valley bomb between the two posts below the entrance to open an adventurer's spring. Agree to tell her of your adventure and answer no, no, yes, no, no to get the item. Piece of Heart [32] - push the top left gravestone to open a cave. Make two clones and push the large block to get the item. Shells - follow Dampe's directions (left x3, up x3) from the start of the maze to find a chest with 200 of them. Joy Butterflies - fuse with Din, Nayru, and Farore to make these appear in Royal Valley, Castor Wilds, and Wind Ruins. Catch them to increase swimming, digging, and arrow shooting speed. -15- Before Veil Springs / Cloud Tops Stone Marker (Wind Crest) #6 - in Veil Falls, above the climbable wall. -16- Before Palace of Winds Piece of Heart [33] - fuse with Gale to open a cave in the waterfall at the top of Veil Falls. Swim to it, enter, and claim the item. Stone Marker (Wind Crest) #7 - at the top of Cloud Tops you can't miss it. Light Arrows - speak with Gregal at this time and he will give you the item. -17- Palace of Winds Roc's Cape Kinstone x5 Piece of Heart [32] 200 Rupees Wind Element Heart Container -18- Before Elemental Sanctuary Piece of Heart [34] - stand beneath the bell in the north of Hyrule Town. Jump into the bell to knock the item loose. Tiger scroll #7 - speak with Swiftblade to learn Down Thrust. Tiger scroll #8 - go to the grave in Castor Wilds. Speak with Swiftblade the First to learn Great Spin Attack. Piece of Heart [35] - go to Lake Hylia. Southeast of Stockwell's house jump over to get the item. Final bottle* - jump to the north edge of Lake Hylia and dig into a cave. Go southwest, getting some chests along the way, and find a symbol on the wall to fuse with. This makes the 6th Goron appear. Piece of Heart [36] - from the cave at the north end of Lake Hylia, take the west path, exit south into Lon Lon Ranch, and get the item. North of cave exit are chests with Kinstones and shells. Piece of Heart [37] - take the east path and get the chest before going up the ladder. Take the second ladder, take the third, and go up the beanstalk to get 200 Rupees, 200 Shells, and the item. Final bottle - [1 - fuse with Eenie in Eastern Hills. 2 - fuse with symbol on cave wall beneath Syrup's house. 3 - fuse with symbol on cave wall beneath Knuckle. 4 - fuse with symbol on cave wall beneath farmers' house. 5 - fuse with symbol on cave wall next to Crenel Hermit's home. 6 - fuse with the symbol in the southwest of the cave at the north end of Lake Hylia.] Enter the Goron cave and get the item. -19- Elemental Sanctuary Four Sword -20- Before (finishing) Dark Hyrule Castle Piece of Heart [38] - got to the school in Hyrule Town. Shrink and go to the minish area in the yard. At the end use your clones to push the block and claim some chests and the item. Piece of Heart [39] - go to the Minish Vilage and fuse with the minish in the house across from the pier in the northeast. This will create ground so you can dig into a cave in Veil Falls. Once there dig back to it and claim the item. Beyond that is a chest with 50 Shells. Heart Container - return to the same minish in Minish Village and fuse again. This opens a hole next to the Wind Crest In Lake Hylia. Go there, down the hole, and up the ladder at the far end. Enter the mushroom house and speakto the minish inside to get the item. Piece of Heart [40] - after collecting all 136 figures from Carlov speak to the man sitting outside the cafe. He lets you into his house (directly north of cafe) where three chests (containing 200 rupees each) and the last Piece of Heart can be found. Faster Split Charge - fuse with Grimblade (Hyrue Castle Garden) to open a waterfall in Veil Falls. That cave is the home of Splitblade. Speak with him and he will teach you how to fill your split gauge faster. Faster Spin Attack - fuse with Grayblade (Mt Crenel) to open a waterfall in Castor Wilds. That is the home of Scarblade. Speak with him and he will teach you how to do your spin attack faster. Longer Great Spin Attack - fuse with Waveblade (Lake Hylia) to open a waterfall in North Hyrule Field. This is the home of Greatblade. Speak with him and he will teach you to extend your Great Spin Attack. Mirror Shield* - go to Lon Lon Ranch and enter the Goron cave. Fuse with the one on the right to make Biggoron appear in Veil Springs. Go to Cloud Tops, fall to Veil Springs and he will tell you that you should speak with him after completing a major feat (beating Vaati). Tingle Trophy - go to Tingle (South Hyrule Field). and speak to him twice. He will tell you if there are any remaining fusions and how many. If you have completed all fusions he will give you the item. This item prevents Kinstones from dropping from enemies, grass, rocks, etc. -21- Post Game Mirror Shield - go to Veil Springs and speak with Biggoron. Let him taste your shield.
