Introduction ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When Legacy of Goku 2 came out, I got it right away. I loved it! Then I saw this game coming out, and I thought from the screen shots that it would be even better, so I decided to write an FAq ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. FAQ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q. Where is [X] exhibit? It is the only one I need! A. Sorry, it is not likely that I will be adding locations of exhibits, but if I do, check that section. Q. I can't find the third switch for the 3rd floor of Babadi's spcace ship! A. Until I write that part, hit select to see a map, go anywhere you haven't searched yet, it might help, but when I do write that part, it should be detailed enough for you to find it, if not, contact me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Basics ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Controls -------------------------------------------------------------------- | Button | Action | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | A Button | Melee Attack, confirm in menus, decend on World Map | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | B Button | Energy attack, cancel in menus, ascend on World Map | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | Select | Brings up area map, hit L for scouter(scan mode), | | | R for World Map | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | Start | Pause, brings up menu | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | L Button | Switch through energy attacks, go to different menu, | | | switch to scanner mode of scouter | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | R Button | Block, switch menus, switch to world map mode of | | | scouter | -------------------------------------------------------------------- | D-Pad | Press one of the 4 directions to move, tap twice to | | | run | -------------------------------------------------------------------- World Map- Many of you have played LOG2, so you know what I am talking about. Well, it is a bit different this time around. Press A to descend a bit, press B to ascend a bit. Now, it isn't too difficult to get the hang of this, but it might take 2-5 minutes. When you see a city, or other area that you can enter, press and hold A until you land. On the world map, you will also find occasional submarines, or air ships. These can either have treasure chests on them, or enemies. If there's enemies, they don't give too much experience. But, most of the enemies on these ships drop bandanas, so once you get to the part where you need a bandana, you know what to do ;). Saving/Switching Characters- Wondering what that capsule corp cricle on the ground is for? Well, go near it, and press A. In the beggining it will automatically save, but once you get to a part where you have more characters, it will ask if you want to save or switch characters. To switch characters, once you get to the part where you have more than one, select "switch characters", then it will pop up a box, showing all the characters you have. Move the cursor over one that you want, and press A. But what is this? One of your characters is facing the other direction? That can mean a few things, ie. they are in another dimension(other world/earth), or the game told you to be a certain character. Don't worry, you will get them back eventually, that is just the game's way of limiting the characters you can be, and making sure you train them all. Leveling up/Changing stats- When you gain a certain amount of experience from battling enemies and bosses, you will level up! Whenever you level up, you will gain three stat points (unless you have a certain item, the Gokuu hat, equiped). These 3 stat points can be used to upgrade 3/4 of your stats. Your stats are Power, Strength, Endurance, and Speed. You cannot level up speed with stat points, the others you can. When you have at least one stat point, you may upgrade your stats. Press start to open the status screen, then press the A button, and hit left/right on the D-Pad to decrease/increase stats, repectively. When you are done, press A, and your stats will be upgraded, and you will not be able to change what you have done, it is permenant, so choose wisely. Note: You cannot take away from stats to get more stat points, after you have already upgraded a stat completely, by hitting A, after you hit A, it is permenant, and you will not be able to take back what you have done. Character Doors- There are 6 different character doors, each characters, except the secret character and Vegito, has his own doors that only he can unlock. The character must be a certain level, the number that the door has on it, and must be that character. To open the door, once you are on the correct level, punch the door with the A button. Which character opens which door: Goku-Orange Gohan-Green Trunks-Purple Vegeta-Dark Blue Goten-Light Blue Gotenks-Gray So if you find a door with lv. 175 and the "175" is orange, you need to get Goku to lv. 175 to open the door. If it is a door that says "85" and is green, you must get Gohan to lv. 85, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Guide ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------ 4.1-Prologue| ------------ This part of the game, is an introduction to the Buu saga, and the ending of LOG2. It shows a bit of the Cell games, as Gohan finishes Cell, and Goku Instant Transmissions Cell away to King Kai's planet. As soon as this scene is over, the real game begins. ------------------------------- 4.2-Chapter 1: The Other World | ------------------------------- Now you can finally play. You are Goku, lv. 60, and you have 3/5 of your total energy attacks, energy blast, Kamehameha(lv. 1), and Instant Transmission(lv. 1). You can test them out here on Snake Way, but there is nothing to fight yet. Journal Entry: Go to King Yemma's Castle. As soon as you start playing, this will be your first objective. Go along Snakesway, and eventually you will reach Yemma's castle. Once there, talk to him, to start a chat where King Kai comes and joins in. When you are done talking to him, go to the back, and talk to the ogre. He will let you past, seeing that you still have your body. Board the right plane, the "Higher Plane", and next thing you know, you will be on the Grand Kai's planet. After King Kai is done talking to you, go down to the pad with the capsule corp. symbol on it. Press A, to save the game. Now move south and you will meet Olibu. Journal Entry: Train with Other World Fighters Talk to the various people on this screen to learn controls, etc. Then, go southeast, but still on the same screen, and you will find two treasure chests. Open them to reveal the one ton arm bands and the one ton boots. Now head north a bit to meet with Olibu again. He tells you about a battle royale area just ahead, go east and you will be in the area he was talking about. Now, you can finally fight! Try punching the enemys, or using enery blasts, or other energy attacks. When you have beaten everyone there, you will gain 1/2 a level. Go north and enter a new area, this time with 3 enemies, after you defeat the first one, you should get a level up! Now, upgrade your stat points, and continue the fight. Level up to 62 or 63, then move on to the next area, south east of there. When you arrive there, there will be 4 enemies! You should pretty much be good at fighting by now, so take them out with ease, maybe using energy attacks if needed. Then progress to the next area due east. You will meet Olibu, and he will congratulate you on your vicories. He will then challenge you. He shouldn't be too hard, he won't take too many hits before he goes down. He will then tell you to follow him, but on the door is an orange 65 sign! You must go back and train until Goku is lv. 65! Once Goku is at 65, punch the door, and it will break. Walk north, and you will see a steel door. Use your Kamehameha on the door, and it will fling open. Walk north, through the door, and you will find a trasure chest on the other side of a rock wall. Use your handy Instant Transmission to move the cursor over the treasure chest, then release the B button, and you will teleport over to the treasure chest, then teleport back with the item, a cotton Gi! Now, you will be back outside the Grand Kai's mansion. With the West Kai and North Kai arguing over who is better, Goku, or Pikkon. A tournament is announced, and they all proceed into the Grand Kai's house. Journal Entry: Go to the Other World Tournament in the Grand Kai's house. Now that you are back outside the Grand Kai's house, use the save point, and proceed into the Grand Kai's house. When you walk in, you will see a few cut scenes of fights in the tournament. Unfortunately, the only one you get to control Goku in is the Goku vs. Pikkon fight. When it finally comes time for the big bout, get ready, as this is not much tougher than the Olibu fight, but it is more of a boss classed fight. Boss strategy!: Pikkon Pikkon uses punches, energy blasts, and a flamethrower move! Watch out, as the flamethrower does constant damage as it touches you, which can be devastating! When you go to attack Pikkon, try to stick with punches, as Pikkon will try to block, but the punches will still do damage. Overall, Pikkon's attacks don't do much damage. But when you get his life down to 1/4, Goku stops and has a quick chat with Pikkon. When he is done, Pikkon will power up to full power, and Goku will go Super Saiya-jin(hereby refered to as SSJ). Now you have access to SSJ! Press L until you see the SSJ icon(a Z), and then press B. You also must have that yellow triangle full to use SSJ. SSJ will increase all of your stats temporarily. Pikkon will persist with his same strategy, and you just have to take his life bar all the way to 0. Then a cut scene will happen, where Goku and Pikkon touch the roof of the Grand Kai's house/tournament arena. Both of you are then disqualified by the Grand Kai. They start to talk a bit, then everyone will walk away. Congratulations, you have completed Chapter 1! ----------------------------- 4-3 Chapter 2: Great Saiyaman| ----------------------------- You are now playing as Gohan! Exit Goku's house and move left. You will be at a save point, take a couple seconds to save the game, then begin to move south. Chi-chi will stop you, and give you lunch(Food and Drink items, which allow you to heal your life/energy, just by going into the menu and selecting the food/drink, food replenishes life, while drinks replenish energy). Now, if you feel that you are good at this game, go onto Nimbus and you will be taken to Hercule city, for the next objective. If you feel you aren't that good yet, go south on the bridge, and level up against the bandits a few times. When you are ready, board Nimbus and you will be in Hercule City. Now that you are in Hercule ciy, go east and you will see some thugs stealing this lady's purse, you can't stand for that! You will automatically go SSJ, so you should be able to take them out with ease. If you find yourself struggling, use energy attacks or heal yourself. After you defeat them, you will view a cinematic. after that is done, you will appear on screen above. Now, you have to go to school, so go North, inbetween the brick wall and the Hercule Cafe(take note of the Cafe, you will need it later if you want to get the secret character), then go directly up while walking along that brick road. When you get to the next screen, you will arrive at the school, which convientiently has a save pad right near it. Save real quick, then head into the school. There is a hall with lockers and a few class rooms, don't worry about the back door yet, you can't use it for anything for a little while. Head into the Upper Left door and you will arrive at your class. You will view a cut scene, when that is finally over, exit the school the same way you came in. Journal Entry: Fly to West City and talk to Bulma! After you have left the school, you will arrive back at the beginning of West City. There will now be a tiny blue circle down near the save point. Press A on the Blue Circle, which I will call either World Map Cirles(WMC) or World Map Pads(WMP), so watch for either one of those. Now you will be flying around the world map, on the minimap, you are the red triangle. The star is the objective's area, so you need to head towards the star. Once you arrive at the star on the minimap, hold down the A button to descend, and once you have descended all the way, you will be in West City(Note, I will not explain this every time, from now on you should know how to move on the world map). Now if you noticed any airships or submarines on the way, you may board them, you can get Exp, money, and items from them, so they are never a bad thing. Once you have arrived, head right, and you will reach Capsule Corp. Go up and you will see Mrs. Briefs, talk to her to get cookies ^.^ These can be used like the other healing items, but are not as effective, but hey, their free! When you are done grabbing cookies, head into the building on the right, this is Bulma's house. There's nothing to do in here, so just walk right up to Bulma and talk with her. She will ask you to get a capsule for her, so she can make your crime fighting suit. Leave Bulma's house and go into the building directly left, this is the Capsule Corp office! When you go in, go straight up, into the Atrium. Now, go all the way to the back and go to the room on the right, this is the room with the capsule in it! Go to the back of the room and grab capsule 2402! Now, go back to Bulma and she will make your suit. Once you have spoken to her, she will go around like she is making it, and will come back and give it to you! Journal Entry: Use your new disguise to fight crime in Hercule City! Bulma will ask if you know how to use the scouter before you leave, if you do, hit "yes", if no, hit "no". Now, leave West City the way you came in, and hit A on the WMC. Now head back to the star on the map, AKA Hercule City, and land. Go right a bit, and you will see another guy stealing a purse, you will take action and transform into the Great Saiyaman! Now, it is your job to severly pummel this wrong-doer! You can still use all of Gohan's attacks, which is very handy! When you have finished him, go right a bit and then up. You will spot a few more criminals, this time with rocket launchers! Don't worry, they still aren't a threat, even with their artillery. Take them down, and head north. This screen looks peaceful! But that's not so, head right and you will see a few more green haired gangsters, make quick work of them, and head north to school. The game will take over, and a cut scene will ensue, and Videl will run out of class to take on the Red Shark Gang! As a hero, you must help this young lady! Jounal Entry: Help Videl defeat the Red Shark Gang and save the mayor! Leave the school and save. Head down one screen, and you will see the shark gang, and Videl trying to stop them. When the scene is over, head south a bit, and then left until you transform into Saiyaman. Now, it's just you against 2 Rocket Launching goons, 2 Gun firing ones, and a huge one with a "metal pole" weapon. Take out the four smaller ones first, as they can get in the way of the fight with the huge one. Heal as necissary, and take them apart for what they did to Videl! Once you have defeated them, Videl will question you. When this is done, you will be one screen south. Head south a bit and you will see this bad man, Musako, with a poor dinosaur baby, whom he calls "Rocko". But Gohan knows better, this is Chobi! Gohan doesn't like that Musako just took Chobi from his parents, so he decides to do something about it! Journal Entry: Save Chobi from the Circus. Head left one screen to arrive at the circus. Here, you may go to the upper left, or the upper right. I personally choose the Upper right, so that is the path I will be describing. First, there will be one green haired goon and a rocket launching one, dispose of them and head north. Now there will be a green haired goon and a bomb throwing one! Dodge the bombs and defeat them both and move north. On this screen, all in one cluster, will be 2 Gunmen, and 2 green hair goons. Dispose of the gunmen first, then finish the green haired goons. Now, head north and you will see 3 "Huge" enemies, and Chobi right behind the middle one. Use energy attacks, healing items, and SSJ if needed. When you have finished them off, go to Chobi's cage and hit A. This will cause you to turn into Saiyaman, unfortunately, because now you can't access SSJ against the upcoming enemies. Go down the same way you came, and take out the enemies, and if you are below level 60, beat a few more enemies to level up. Now, go back down to the beginning of the circus. When you go to leave, Musako finds you, and orders a tank in to take you down! As long as you have a 20+ Power, you can take this thing down! Use a Kamehameha, relentlessly, and you will finish it in no time. Now, 4 enemies pop out of the destroyed tank, take them out and leave the area! Head right a bit, and you will find another tank! Take it out the same way as the other one, and use healing items if needed. Head all the way right near the Hercule cafe, then head south. Go west until you can't anymore. Videl will stop you and a cutscene will happen. You will release Chobi to go with his parents and Videl will find out that you are Gohan! Videl will blackmail you into entering the World Martial Arts Tournament. Head west towards the WMC and hit A. Another cutscene will happen, and Goku will tell you he is coming back for the day, on the day of the World Tournament! Journal Entry: Tell your Family and Friends that Goku is returning! Go to all of the purple dots on the map, and talk to all of Goku's friends. They will be delighted that Goku is coming back to Earth for the day! Now, go to the star on the map, and talk to Chi-Chi. She will be most happy of all! Then the scene will switch over to Yemma talking with Goku and Baba. When they are done talking, the scene will switch, yet again! This time, to a scene with the "Tank boy" and some other ogre. If you have scene Movie 12, you will recognize this scene! Pikkon will run to King Yemma, telling him that he will check out what the explosion near the Soul Cleansing Machine was all about. You will see Pikkon on a rail road track, with a large shadow looming over him. Who is this new enemy? What does he have in store for the Z Fighters? Well, that is not for a few more chapters, so if you have not seen the movie, you won't know what happens until chapter 6! Congratulations! You finished chapter 2! -------------------------------- 4.4 Chapter 3: World Tournament!| -------------------------------- Journal Entry: Meet Goten in the eastern Forest to train! Go over to the save pad and save. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6-Energy Attacks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ________ 6.1-Goku| ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Energy Blast: Energy Ball icon Every character has an energy blast attack. This is just a basic blast that does decent damage, they can be fired quickly in succession by tapping B. Super Saiya-jin(SSJ): Yellow Z icon Press B to turn into a SSJ. Your stats will be temporarily increased, including speed! It will also add a yellow energy bar to your Ki, so it does not drain your normal Ki bar. Every few seconds, a tiny piece of the yellow bar will get drained, so it doesn't last forever, even if you don't use any energy attacks. When the yellow bar runs out, you return to your normal state. Super Saiya-jin 3(SSJ3): Yellow Z3 icon Once you have gone to the SSJ form, press B on this icon to transform into a SSJ3, which will increase your stats even more and you get an orange energy bar, but this drains a lot faster. Otherwise, everything else works the same, press the Z3 icon again and you will transform into normal state. When all energy runs out, you will be transformed back into normal. Kamehameha: Energy Wave icon Press and hold B to unleash a Kamehameha Wave! This blast will do constant damage to an enemy, as long as it hits. The strength of this move depends on your power stat. Just like the Kamehameha from LOG2, it will not go through enemies, so once it hits an enemy, it will not hit enemies behind until you kill the one you are focusing on. To increase the width of the Kamehameha, you must upgrade the attack to lv. 2, by leveling up your character. Once he reaches a certain level, you will be alerted of the level up of the attack when it says "Kamehameha lv.2!" in the window. When the Kamehameha reaches lv. 3, it turns orange, and gets a bit wider, and does a lot more damage! This attack comes in handy against bosses, but can sometimes be a bad thing against groups of enemies, because they might go around the wave to attack you directly. Instant Transmission: "Person with "lines" going out" icon(note, if anyone has a better description for this, please tell me, as I have no clue what to call this icon) Hold B and a cursor will pop up. Move the cursor with the D-Pad. Move it over an enemy or trasure chest, and the cursor will creat a box around the enemy/trasure chest. Release B to teleport and attack the enemy/grab the item from the trasure chest. You MAY NOT use the to teleport to the other side of the screen because you don't feel like walking, and once you have teleported to hit the enemy/grab the item, you will instantly teleport back to where you were first standing. As you level up, this move will too, for each level you can select that many targets. So for level 1, you can select one enemy/treasure chest, for lv. 2, 2 enemies, lv. 3, 3 enemies. _________ 6.2-Gohan| ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Energy Blast: Energy Ball icon Every character has an energy blast attack. Note: Gohan loses his SSJ abilities after he recieves the Grand Kai's power up and goes "Mystic". Masenko-Ha!: "Energy Grenade" icon Press and hold B and a cursor will appear. For level one, the cursor will move quite fast, up/down or left/right, depending on which way you are facing. When you finish holding the B button, you fire an energy ball on the square that the cursor was on. At lv. 2, same deal, except the cursor moves a bit slower. At lv. 3, it takes a large amount of energy, but it allows you to move the cursor on your own. This allows you to aim it yourself, but only up/down or left/right, depening on which way you are facing. Electric Kamehameha: Energy Wave icon Press and hold B to unleash a Kamehameha Wave! Note: This is the same as the regular Kamehameha wave, I have no clue why they changed the name. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7-Exhibit List (Thanks to Lippy2k) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ______________________ 7.1-Z-Fighter Exhibits| ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Z-Fighter Exhibit 1 (Goku's Power Pole) - Go to where Babadi's ship is (or where it was), and go to the upper right hand corner, there should be a chest, use Goku's Instant Transmission to get to it.
