FAQs ...................................................... 11. Final Notes / Credits / Legal Info ........................ =============================================================================== 1. Introduction ............................................... =============================================================================== I am going to assume you played the NDS's Rocket Slime game. After all, that's probably how you found out about this game's existence. I am also going to assume you already played this game a bit, so I will skip things like the controls and the basic mechanics. This guide will mainly focus on the detailed information and the extra contents. I am not fluent in Japanese (I took only 6 months of Japanese more than a decade ago), and there was no English guide anywhere. So, I just played this game through and tried to discover as many secrets and such. I sort of understood most of the important things, since much of the game were in Hiragana and Katakana (thereby allowing me to use the dictionary). Still, I am bound to have misread something (or I misspelled English words), so if you spot any mistake, please let me know. =============================================================================== 2. Dungeon Information ........................................ =============================================================================== Obviously, there are numerous dungeons in the game, but everything is pretty straight forward. If you need help in finding the slimes, then you can go to the Menu and simply point the cursor on each sections of the map to find the unopened slime chests. The map also contains information, such as the Portals and carts. I will only list the locations' items and enemies. I will also include the boss strategies. Note: Some dungeons have mini-bosses near the end, but I will not list them unless they are catchable monsters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nokke Woods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Item: Big Boulder, Treasure Chest, Fruit, Barrel, Rockbomb, Life Fruit (1) Enem: Platypunk, Dracky, Bunicorn Boss: Golem Golem is pretty easy. Before it attacks (vertically), it does a little pose. Very easy to see it coming. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ul Otter River ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Item: Treasure Chest, Rockbomb, Seashell, Firewood, Life Fruit (1) Enem: Platypunk, Hammerhood, Cauldrone, Picksy, Wyrtle Boss: Draharuto Jr (Small Fry?) Draharuto Jr will first fly around the field and breath out fireballs. Strike it few times, and it will suck in all the water on the field to become big. It will also pound on the ground, which will summon small rocks. Use these rocks to damage Draharuto Jr. It will shoot out water balls and fireballs to hinder you. After it takes some damage, it will return to its small self, and the cycle repeats. When it becomes big the 2nd time, it will jump around the field to damage you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nikomisky Mine ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Item: Gold Bar, Slime Knight Enem: Platypunk, Jinkster, Walking Corpse, Dancing Flame Boss: Batton (Vladiator?) Vladiator has multiple attacks, but they're all pretty easy to avoid. Strike him few times (and throw him into the lava), and he'll eventually turn into multiple-bat form. Strike these bats to damage him. He dies if all bats die. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Deep in the Nokke Woods ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Item: Rockbomb, Paper Railroad Enem: Platypunk, Bunicorn, Red Platypunk (1) Boss: Golemi (Stone Golem?) Golemi will jump sideways three times (the impact can damage you), then shoot multiple rocks with both of its arms. Then the cycle repeats. Stay on the South portion of the field while following Golemi, and when it fires its bullets, stay between the bullets and attack. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cara Cara Pool ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Item: Big Boulder, Rockbomb Enem: Hammerhood, Cauldrone, Picksy Boss: Lordon (Wyrtoise?) Lordon seems invincible at first, but just like against Wyrtle, you can flip it by digging underground and then coming out below it. After few hits, it covers the field with water, just to block you from digging undergrounds. After a while, Draharuto Jr shows up and helps you by letting you use him to throw fireballs (he is pissed that you, who managed to beat him, are being beaten by an overgrown turtle). Lordon adds few more attacks after that, but they are managable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mt. Merazoma ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Item: Treasure Chest, Rockbomb, Slime Knight, Flame Gauntlet, Blizzard Sword Enem: Platypunk, Jinkster, Walking Corpse, Dancing Flame Boss: Moeru (Flamethrower?) & Hieru (Blizzybody?) They both have their unique attacks, but they are easy to avoid. Just strike them and pick them up, then use each other as throwing objects to damage them (they escape your grip if you hold them too long). Once one of them dies, pick up the item left behind and use it to attack the survivor. Moeru will probably die first, since it has less HP, in which case, you can pick up the Flame Gauntlet and spam its fireballs to kill Hieru. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Slime Tail ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Item: Treasure Chest, Barrel, Rockbomb, Seashell, Gold Bar, Sword, Life Fruit (1) Enem: Platypunk, Restless Armour, Mummy, Muddy Hand, Gigantes (1) Boss: Don Mojarl (Don Clawleone) There are three stages: 1. Don can summon one of his henchmen from the sides (it shoots horizontally), or summon an army in front of him (they shoot horizontally). Just strike him until he is defeated (he may obsecure your view by shooting at the camera). 2. Don uses his mecha suit and uses his rocket punch, or throws bunch of banana peels to make you slip. In any case, throw your slime allies to damage Don. 3. Don becomes a giant, and he attacks in various patterns when he is in the background (he also throws various items, for some reason), and he uses double palm smashs when he is in the foreground. Strike him right after dodging his double palm smash to damage/stun him, then throw the objects to damage him further. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mio Roshter ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Item: Floating Platform (you cannot take this) Enem: Chimaera, Blinkster, Living Statue Boss: Moon Moon summons Chimaeras in various patterns, but you can strike them and use them as throwing objects to damage Moon when it appears. The biggest annoyance is that you may drop off the field, and you'll have to redo the whole dungeon from the beginning. =============================================================================== 3. Catchable Monsters ......................................... =============================================================================== There are many monsters that can be "caught" (kidnapped) and brought to the Slime Town by various means. They hang out in your town (you can talk to them), and if you bring enough of the same kind, they can be used as laborers for the Cidmoja shop. Otherwise, their existence is simply to give you the trophies in the museum. The listed money stat is before you get the Fortune Wallet. Some money drops vary, because monsters drop different amount of money, depending on which dungeon they were at. Most monsters have different English names, so I posted them in addition to the Japanese names. For the most of the guide, I will be using the English names, since this guide is for the English-speaking people. Momonja (Platypunk) HP: 3 Money: 6~15 Note: These white duck-monkeys can be found all over the world. They attack you by rolling at you, but they're quite slow. If they're set on fire (from other enemies), they will run around and may damage you. Dracky HP: 2 Money: 4 Note: These purple bats are weak. They try to attack you by biting. Ikkaku Usagi (Bunicorn) HP: 4 Money: 4~6 Note: These horned rabbits can be quite annoying. Not only are they good at taking hits, but they will charge at you once they spot you from a long distance. Fighting multiple of them can be very annoying (but they also tend to damage each other). Ooki Zuchi (Hammerhood) HP: 3 Money: 4~7 Note: These hooded hammer guys lose their hammer if they get hit even once. They can even lose their hammer by being grabbed by Picksys. Once they do, they will charge towards you while swinging their arms (but won't be able to adjust their aim once they come swinging). Takotsubokozou (Cauldrone) HP: 3 Money: 7~10 Note: These octopus rangers live underwater, but they occasionally pop out to shoot their slingshots at you. They are powerless on the land. Picksy HP: 4 Money: 7~10 Note: These imps cannot attack by themselves, but they will try to damage you by throwing objects at you, whether they be items or other monsters. Gamegon (Wyrtle) HP: 4 Money: 8 Note: These dragon-turtles cannot be damaged by normal attacks until they get flipped. And the most common ways to do so is to use a fully-charged strike, or dig underground and hit them from below. They attack by spinning themselves and then charging at you. Hitotsume Piero (Jinkster) HP: 3 Money: 7~8 Note: These red wizards teleport around the field and shoot fireballs. They initially float, so they are initially immune to the lava, but you can throw them into the lava to damage them. Kusattashitai (Walking Corpse) HP: 3 Money: 1~2 Note: These zombies use their claws to attack you. They die instantly if they get burned (hint: lava). Their unique trait is that they respawn after dying. Don't try to farm money by killing them; they give very little money. Flame (Dancing Flame) HP: 3 Money: 10~16 Note: These fire guys are tough. They will attack you with their fire breath as soon as they get within the range. If you attack up front, you'll usually end up taking the damage or trading blows. Let them attack first and evade, then attack. They are also immune to fire, meaning lava and enemy's fireballs have no effect on them. Samayou Yoroi (Restless Armour) HP: 4 Money: 20 Note: These armored knights attack by using their swords. They initially follow their own footsteps until they spot you. They start off with a shield, and if they spot you, they'll use their shield to make themselves invincible, even when they're attacking. Not even attacking them from behind nor below the ground will work. The exception is the Treasure Chest. Unlike in the sequel game, you cannot knock away their shield, even with a fully charged attack. However, they eventually will go back to their footsteps if you elude them enough. They lose their shield if they get hit while being unaware. Once they die, they leave behind their Swords. Mummy HP: 4 Money: 15 Note: These mummies don't attack you directly, but they teleport around the field and leave some sort of bandage faces on the ground, which shoot out explosives. These bandage faces can be destroyed. Gigantes HP: ? Money: ? Note: There is only one of this cyclops, and he is completely invincible. He can however be squashied under weight, and his flattened body can be caught (in fact, this is the only way to "beat" him). Mud Hand (Muddy Hand) HP: 3 Money: 17 Note: When these muddy hands are in their mud form, they are invulnerable. However, if they come across a monster or an item, they will grab it and become vulnerable. They cannot damage you, but they can grab you and let the other monsters attack you. Akai Momonja (Red Platypunk) HP: ? Money: 24 Note: There is only one of this red duck-monkey. She can be killed, but she'll respawn when you leave the dungeon. You can catch her after the first fight, but you can't fight her anymore if you do so. She is very good at evading your strikes, so throw objects to damage her. Chimaera HP: 4 Money: 25 Note: These vultures initially attack you while flying (usually comes out of nowhere), but once they're hit, they lose all of their feathers and become completely harmless. Bebi Magician (Blinkster) HP: ? Money: ? Note: These blue wizards summon Chimaera out of nowhere, then they teleport away for good. I was never able to kill them, because they don't flinch after their initial hit and teleport away so fast. Ugoku Sekizou (Living Statue) HP: ? Money: ? Note: These stone statues can only be launched by fully-charged strikes, although they seem to have infinite HP (maybe not, but they can take a lot of hits). And, they can break free of your grip in few seconds. Once they recover, they'll run back to their initial spot. =============================================================================== 4. Items ...................................................... =============================================================================== There are numerous items in the dungeons. Most of them are to complement your attacks, but some of them can be used to solve the puzzles. They can be brought back to the town using the same methods as catching monsters, and they can be sold for money. Some of them can also be used in the Cidmoja shop to enhance the town. Big Boulder 55 G A simple object with no special properties. Treasure Chest 60 G It usually contains a Herb, but it may contain other items. You can throw this to trap enemies in the box. This is especially useful against the "invincible" enemies (ex: Wyrtle, Restless Armour). Fruit 30 G An object that breaks on the first ground impact (after falling from the tree). Barrel 60 G An object that breaks on the first ground impact. Rockbomb 40 G An object that explodes on the first ground impact. You need this to destroy the breakable walls. Seashell 40 G A simple object with no special properties. Firewood 60 G A simple object with no special properties, but it is necessary to heat up the oven in Ul Otter River. Gold Bar 100 G This object does not bounce on the ground. It can also be destroyed if it is crushed by the moving walls or carts (drops 40G). Slime Knight 80 G While holding this on the lowest slot, Slarin can swing the swords. You need this to break the Platypunk balloons in Mt. Merazoma and Nikomisky Mine. You can throw this by holding the B button. Paper Railroad 40 G This is used as a portable railroad for the carts in Deep in the Nokke Woods. There are three different shapes, but they all count as the same one. Sword 80 G This is dropped by Restless Armours, and it is necessary to unlock some doors in The Slime Tail. This object does not bounce on the ground. Flame Gauntlet 200 G This is dropped by one of the Mt. Merazoma bosses, Moeru. While holding this on the lowest slot, Slarin can shoot fireballs. You can throw this by holding the B button. Blizzard Sword 200 G This is dropped by one of the Mt. Merazoma bosses, Hieru. Anyone that gets hit by this becomes frozen. =============================================================================== 5. Shop ....................................................... =============================================================================== After certain plot points, you will have access to the shops in the town. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Item Shop ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are multiple Life Fruits, which get more expensive everytime you buy one. World Tree Leaf and World Tree Drop can be exchanged, with the difference of money being paid (whether you pay the shopkeeper, or he pays you). Life Fruit (x3) 200 G, 800 G, 2500 G Permanently raises the Max HP by 1 Heart. World Tree Leaf 500 G Automatically recovers your HP to full if your HP drops to 0. World Tree Drop 150 G Automatically recovers your HP to half if your HP drops to 0. Time Sand 100 G Gives an extra day in the dungeon if the day is over. Fortune Wallet (x1) 1000 G Enemies drop double the money. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cidmoja (Ducktor Cid) Shop ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After a certain plot point, Cidmoja will open a workshop. There, you can give the money, items, and caught monsters to enhance the town (you don't lose the monsters after using them). In order for him to open the shop, you initially need to give him Big Boulder x1, Fruit x1, and Seashell x1. ------------------------------ Shop 1 ------------------------------ 1) Plants Red Flowers all over the town. Fruit x1, Big Boulder x1 2) Repairs the broken bridge in Town 2. 10 G, Firewood x3 3) Builds a bridge on the Beach. 50 G, Hammerhood x3 4) Puts a Surf Board on the Beach and enables the Surf mini game. 130 G, Treasure Chest x3 5) Creates Trampolines on the Beach. 200 G, Platypunk x7 6) Creates Return Cannon all over the town. Mini-Games ................................................. =============================================================================== There are few mini-games within the Slime Town. You need to first rescue the necessary slimes (and maybe complete certain Cidmoja jobs) to enable the games. Pot-Smash ---------------- Outside the church, there is a yellow slime with goggles. Talk to him to play the Pot-Smash game. Only Novice and Intermediate levels are initially available, but you can enable the Advanced level if you complete one of the Cidmoja jobs. The purpose of this game is to smash all the pots as quickly as possible. You get a Painting Piece if you beat a certain time for each level. Surf ---------------- Inside the Beach House, there is a whte seedling slime. Talk to him to play the Surf mini-game. The goal of the game is to collect as many coins as possible in one minute. The small coins are worth 1, and the big coins are worth 5. You get a Painting Piece if you collect 2001 coins or more. Soccer ---------------- Inside the Soccer Stadium (or Soccer Field), you can talk to various slimes to play the soccer game. It's a bit hard to explain, but you should be able to guess pretty well. You can talk to the red brick slime and choose the second option for a tutorial. Battle ---------------- In the SW house in Town 1, you can play the survival battle game for 10 G. You can choose which well to jump in. Each well contains multiple floors of the enemies from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd dungeon respectively. There are total of 20 floors, but the 10th floor only has a healing point, and the 20th floor only has a prize chest. Completing each well gives you an achievement medal. =============================================================================== 7. Painting ................................................... =============================================================================== There are many Painting Pieces in the town, and if you collect them all, you can see the complete picture in the Museum. You don't get anything special for completing the picture, but it is still nice to complete it. 1) You start with one. 2) Left drawer in the Item Shop. 3) Beat 12 seconds for the Pot-Smash (Novice) mini-game. 4) Beat 21 seconds for the Pot-Smash (Intermediate) mini-game. 5) Beat 60 seconds for the Pot-Smash (Advanced) mini-game. 6) Get at least 2001 coins in the Surf mini-game. 7) Talk to the red robot slime in the Soccer Stadium and complete his 10 challenges. 8) Talk to the grey jellyfish slime in the Soccer Stadium and beat all five teams in a row (the last team is enabled only after you catch the Red Platypunk). 9) Win 1 Multiplayer game. 10) Win 3 Multiplayer games. 11) Win 5 Multiplayer games. 12) Win 10 Multiplayer games. =============================================================================== 8. Extra ...................................................... =============================================================================== - There are two drawers in the Item Shop. The left drawer contains a Painting Piece, and the right drawer may contain some money (it refreshes everytime you enter the town). - There is a cave on the NW side of Town 2, and there are three more caves inside that cave. On the right cave, there are drawers. They contain monsters not from this game. Cameo? - Inside one of the houses, there are five slimes running around, each asking for toys. You can give each of them a Slime Knight, and they'll form some sort of 5-men band. - Once you create Roller-Dashers, you can use them to break the Piggy Banks in the town for some one-time money. - Inside the Bar (after it has been remodeled), the shelled slimes offers to trade his Gold Bar x40 for your Sword x10. - One of the Cidmoja's jobs is creating a Museum. There is the Painting Piece room on the left side, and there are the monster statue rooms on the right side. You get a new statues of a particular monster if you catch 1, 25, 50, and 100 monsters. You only need to catch one for the rare monsters. If you get the gold statues for all monsters, then you get a statue of your own. - After rescuing all 100 slimes, a hole opens up in the NW part of Town 2. There, you can fight Miihon (Hooly). You dont' get anything for winning, but you get to BE a Platypunk during the fight. =============================================================================== 9. Tips ....................................................... =============================================================================== - Making Money 1) In Nikomisky Mine, keep sending the first Slime Knight to the town, using the carts nearby. Slime Knights respawn as soon as you leave the screen, so you can do this very quickly. In addition, there is a Gold Bar nearby, and it also respawns occasionally. A Slime Knight can be sold for 80 G, and a Gold Bar can be sold for 100 G. - Soccer 1) For the difficult battles, wait for the enemy players to simultaneously jump you, then dodge that, then score a point. Then just wait out the time on the South part of the field, occasionally dodging the enemy (jump, if necessary). =============================================================================== 10. FAQs ...................................................... =============================================================================== Q: In Ul Otter River (2nd dungeon), how do I proceed to the boss room? A: First, you need to throw in five Firewoods into the furnace (to make it blow up). You may need to take multiple trips. That'll open up the passage to the boss room. Q: I beat the first three dungeons, but now what do I do? A: You need to revisit the first three dungeons and rescue all the slimes there. They're all behind the crystal barrier (you should be able to break them after clearing the Mine dungeon). In order to unlock the doors, you need to match the statues by bringing the necessary items/monsters. Q: Okay, I rescued all the slimes from the first three dungeons, but now what do I do? A: Go to the Beach in the town, then drop down the hole on the NE side. There, you will find the Kanji letters on the wall. Smash into those to enter. Left: Find the rock, then stay still until the ninja slime reveals himself. Talk to him to access the Deep Woods dungeon. Middle: Strike the ninja slime (this is pretty hard), pick him up, and then throw him into the net. If you don't throw him into the net fast enough, he'll escape. This may take several tries. Then talk to him to open up the Pool dungeon. Right: Talk to the flag on the North wall (there's a ninja slime behind it) to open up the Mountain dungeon. Q: Okay, so I beat Dungeon 4~6 and rescued all the slimes there. Now what? A: Go to the beach, and enter the most North whirlpool. It'll take you near the tower. Enter, then go all the way to the top. There, you will see a slime, but there is another slime on the South part (your view obstructed by a structure). Talk to her. Things from there are self-explanatory. =============================================================================== 11. Final Notes / Credits / Legal Info ........................ =============================================================================== I wish this game got its chance outside Japan.
