Only gamefaqs and its afflitiates are able to use this guide without the permission of the original author. This version since now people had the English version I deleted the section about menu translation which took alot of kb space away which is good because now it loads faster! Also I sentenced some sentences shorter to make the size smaller too for faster loading. Now everything has been converted to the English version so English owners now you'll be able to understand it too! Yeah, that menu translation was the biggest section lol. Well, I hope this will be a benefit to everyone! ============================================================================== ============================Table of Contents================================= ============================================================================== I. Now, this is not shown on your statistics but it is there and the game keeps score of it. These certain people cannot join you no matter what you do unless you use that name cheat code: Rocko,Moose, Otis, Dragon twins, and Slick. For Turk to join you, you just simply to have high reputation. But not all people just need reputation for them to join you. Some they need special requirements like Ivan and Tex. For Ivan to join you, you need to talk to the 2 girls at the last mall and the girl at the place where they sell fish. For Tex to join you, you need to have Gouda in your team and have high reputation. Now Rex is easy to get him to ask you. You basically just need positive reputation for him to join you. People like Gary and Conan, it doesnt matter for reputation, you just gotta know where to find them. Conan you have to not have Ryan in your party and have beaten the Senridai Bombers/Generic Dudes 3 times anywhere and then go the second place to the right right after the 1st place. Sugata you can find him at Sherman Park in 1 player mode when Blade appears. Thor will join you if you have like 126 reputation(highest rep is 127). And there is also 1 other place you can get Gary. If your playing 1p mode, Then you can get Sugata at the 1st place when you come back from the 2nd area. If you played as Ryan 1p player mode, when you go to Sherman Park before Blade gets there, then Rick will appear. Causes of Lost Reputation: - Hitting bosses while they're talking - Hitting downed enemies - Using cheap moves over and over - When your ally dies -------------------------------------------------------- Causes of Increase Reputation: - Running into a wall - Dieing - Getting hit from an enemy while on the ground - Getting hit from an enemy every 4 times - New ally joins party - Beating a boss - Beating the whole gang not just kill some members and run away - Starting the game with Ryan Well, after you have 4 members in your party, it doesn't really matter if you have reputation or not. Remember, you cannot save your party. This resets at every time when you play the game again after shutting it off. Reputation is the same when you do this. You can only save characters and only 1 character for each slot. ============================================================================== ============================================================================== ============================================================================== ========================== Story Walkthrough ================================= ============================================================================== Well, most walkthroughs on games usually takes up 80 percent of the guide on the story walkthrough but not river city ransom ex. I like it this way though. 1. Ok, when you start out, you just finished talking to Ryan. Now there's several things you can do: You can either fight gangs, buy stuffs from sho- ps, or advance in the game's story buy fighting Moose/Sawaguchi. Tips on beating him is one that you don't fall into the pit(obviously). He uses that crazy frog spinning move. In order to avoid that, stop him from running. Otherwise, he can't do anything except normal moves. 2. After the defeat of Moose/Sawaguchi, keep going forward till you talk with this girl(Cyndi). Now after this conversation, you can fight Benny and Clyde by going down the bridge on the left corner(optional). Now keep going on until you come to a factory. Beat everyone there and Rocko/Nishimura will appear. Tips: He's not really hard just watch out for his slap move. Like Sawaguchi, prevent him from running in order to avoid his slapping move. His power punch does some damage if you get too close to him. If you cannot defeat him like this while on low hp, I suggest you let Ryan do the stalling time work and just throw items at Rocko. 3. When Rocko is defeated, he will tell you of Blade/Kinoshita at Sherman Park waiting for you. Follow his instructions and go back to Sherman Park to fight Blade. Tips: This is a very easy battle considering he only has the devil chain move which is usually useless because it does no damage. 4. After Blade is defeated, head all the way to the subway station and go past it. The next battle is gonna be a little harder than the previous ones so you might want to buy some healing items and food before you fight. When you just got out of the subway station on the right side, fight every- one and Turk appears. Tips: Always do close range attacks to him if your stats aren't maxed out. If you don't, he will do his telekenetic teleport hit on you doing massive damage. I suggest using a mach punch or kick while fighting him on close range. The best thing to do actually while fighting him close ranged is using mach weapon while using a very long ranged weapon. 5. Tired?, there's more ahead. If you're severely injured, heal and then go up from Turk's turf. Fight everyone there and another boss appears. Mojo will appear here and fight you. Tips: In this fight, fight him long ranged if you're not experienced enough because if you don't, he will use his body slam on you causing you lots of damage and also might hit Ryan if he's close to you while you got him from the body slam. 6. Two tough bosses in a row phew! But the next one's just as hard! Now keep going forward until you reach at a second factory. This one's a little bigger than the previous one. Go to the 2nd place of the factory and fight everyone there; try not to fall off this place has a huge pit. Thor will then appear. Tips: Now this time fighting him at close or far ranged won't make a difference since both of his special moves involves close and far ranged. His defense drill protects him from normal melee attacks when he tries to attack. His other move can fly really fast toward you hitting you in mid-air. I recommend you have a long ranged weapon like a double lengthed chain. It is also helpful if you have the defense drill technique yourself. Or, you can just throw him off into the pit and not receive any money. This still counts as a kill but you get no loot. 7. After defeating Thor, keep going forward until you see a new mall. Stack up on supplies and head east and you will find Benny and Clyde. Note: They only appear here if you have defeated them at the bridge. There's a spa here thats really cheap that heals you. Unlike the original one, this time the spa doesn't give you will power. Go east of the spa and fight everyone here and Himada will appear and fight you. Tips: Don't give him time to charge up his high bash kick. Just nonstop hitting him with everything you've got. (Himada is optional) Now whether if you beat Himada or not, go up of that place and a brand new place with a new music instead of the other one all the time will appear. Defeat everyone here and Ivan/Gouda the gatekeeper will fight you. Tips: This may be one of the hardest battles you'll face in this game. Gouda has excellent defense. The best way to defeat him if your stats are not maxed out is to attack him with mach techniques. Do not stay away from Gouda for a long period of time! For he will use his strongest move that can hit you even though if you two are corners apart. But he has to charge up first so you should stop him from releasing that move. His headbutt is usually useless if you fight him close ranged. 8. After defeating Gouda, you will gain access to Reihou High School. In there , defeat everyone on the 1st floor in the gym. Otis will then appear on the far right. Tips: All he has is drill so it should be pretty easy. 9. Now move up to the black area where Otis came out of. You will then reappear on the top floor of the gym. Keep walking right until you see another one of those dark area places. Go in and you will see stairs. Go up the stairs and you will see another stairway. You can right now either stay on this floor and fight everyone to meet Tex and fight him, or you can go to the next floor. This is the last floor of RiverCity High. You shouldn't see anymore stairways leading upwards. Fight everyone here and go to the far right to meet the Dragon twins. This will also be one of those hardest battles you're going to face if this is your first time flipping the story mode of the game. Tips: When you see one of them jump straight up once, then immediaetly move away from him for he will use his tornado kick. The blond one has an uppercut move that hits not really high but still higher than a normal move would knock you. Try not to stay really near the blond one for more than 2 seconds. The black haired one has a quick knee bashing move thats unpredictable. Try to just stun him all the time or knock him down. Don't let Riki do all the work in this battle. He will die sooner than you think he will. 10. When the battle is over, you can go to the last classroom on this floor to the right to rescue Ryan's girlfriend. This is optional but I like to do that anyways because it feels like the story's more complete that way. Now go through the double doors that the Dragon twins came from to reach the roof of the school. Now keep going left until you see Slick/Yamada. You can either let him talk for awhile or if you're impatient just punch him and he'll fight you. Tips: When he turns into a ball and starts spinning around, do not approach him. Nothing you do while he's in that state will matter(basically invincible). I know, thats very cheap but just wait until he's normal again then just keep fighting him. I really suggest you have your ally alive while fighting him cause you're going to need all the help you can get. If you see him levitating objects in the air, you must go hit him really, really quickly or else you're gonna get hit really painful. Damages are usually around 100-250. He has high defense and some stats maxed out. Make sure you have alot of healing items while fighting him. 11. When Slick dies, he'll talk about the past and stuff. After he finishes talking, it'll tell you about what happens after. And then a photo of Alex and Ryan on some roof somewhere(disappointing ending I know). Ok, here's where alot of people get confused. Most people think that the game just ended because nothing will happen if you press anything while the happy music is still playing. you MUST wait after the music ended, then press A and it will ask you to save or not. Save it and then the game resets. Now you have all the other features of the game! -------------------------------------------------------- Secret Meetings and Events Meet Roxy - Go to the bridge Meet Roxy in River City High - Must have high reputation when you first meet her plus the Titus events and plus a high reputation when you go to River City High's Second Floor Meet Titus - Go to Water Front Mall and must have equal reputation of Thor joining your crew Meet Titus 2nd Time - Must have the 1st meeting , then go to River City High's front gate after defeating Ivan.
