Some things may not be familiar to those who played other Custom Robo games, but this game is still quite fun. There is still lots of customizations, and you still battle opponents with multiple different weapons. For more information, refer to Terotrous's guides. I obtained some of the basic information from Terotrous's guide. I sent him an email and tried to get his permission to copy some of his info (mostly names), but I could not contact him. If Terotrous reads this guide and wants me to remove certain parts in my guide that has problems with copyrights, then please contact me. This guide is all about the specific details of what each parts do. Terotrous did an adequate job in his guide about the parts, but he just copied and pasted the in-game information. However, after I tested things out, I found that much of the in-game information is misleading, and sometimes wrong. Hence, I decided to make this guide. Having said that, I am probably still missing few things. If anyone discovers more hidden abilities about the parts, email me and I will update this guide. 1. I changed some stats (displayed with [] bars), because some of them were completely wrong. For example, in-game-stats indicated that Luna has faster Dash Speed (or Move Speed) than X-Ray, but it clearly doesn't. Some weapons (ex: Idling Bomb) does more damage than the stats indicated. Therefore, I made the corrections in my guide and redid these stat bar chart. 2. I did not modify some in-game-stats (ex: Speed, Homing), because I could not confirm nor deny them. They are noted as "(in-game-stat)" in the "How to read" section. 3. All damage calculations were based on X-Ray. 4. I am aware that there are parts for the final boss (Dark Chimera) and the secret boss (Rising Chimera), but since they are unobtainable, I will not list their parts. 5. Obviously, I was not able to test EVERYTHING, since some things didn't even come across my mind. Robos (aka Bodies) ......................................... =============================================================================== How to read: Robo Name Obtain ------ Location of where the part can be found. Style ------- Style Type (Normal/Speed/Armor/Power) Offense ----- Increase (or decrease) of weapon damages. Defense ----- Ability to reduce damage. Endurance --- Ability to resist Knockdown (KD); Maximum KD Point. Dash Speed -- Speed of the dash in a fixed distance. Move Speed -- Normal movement speed (Medium, Fast, Slow) Note: Any special notes. The body is the most important part among all the parts, since it majorly affects the playing style. And while the basic stats are important, all the "extra" portions of the body (Dash, Move Speed, etc) are just as important. All legal models have "styles", which comes with merits and demerits: Normal: Base stat of the model. Speed: Faster Dash Speed, -5% Defense. Armor: +5% Defense, slower Dash Speed. Power: +5% Power for all attacks, -5% Defense, slower Dash Speed. As the Robo takes damage, its KD Point (see Endurance) takes damage as well. KD Point automatically recovers over time, but once it is reduced to 0, the Robo is KDed and temporarily becomes incapacitated and vulnerable (you can rapidly press buttons to recover faster). However, in this state, the Robo takes less damage from everything, relative to the Defense. Specifically, it only takes 25% of damage from Guns, 20% from Action Chips, and 50% from Bombs and Pods. Once it recovers, it gets a mercy invincibility for a short time and the KD Point recovers completely. The primary difference between Robo classes is the function of their dashes. Here are the factors of the dashes: Distance: The total dash distance. Speed: The base speed of the dash. Control: Ability to change directions during the dash. Wall: Ability to phase through the thin walls during the dash. Gun-Proof: Immunity to Gun shots during the dash. Cancel: Ability to cancel the dash by pressing the Dash button. Invisible: Invisibility to the opponent during the dash. Note 1: All the numbers in (%) are relative to X-Ray model. If has Offense of (+5%), then its power is +5% of X-Ray's. Note 2: The damage calculations always favor the Defense side. For example, when calculating the Shotgun's Beta Shot damage (88 damage) on Sol Mk2 (which has -5% Defense), it would do 92 damage (104.5%) instead of 93 damage (105.7%). Similarly, when calculating the same gun's damage on Photon (which has +5% Defense), it would do 83 damage (94.3%) instead of 84 damage (95.5%). Note 3: All dashes can be canceled mid-dash with Action Chip. This means you can use Energy Protector to cancel the dash with no recoil, then immediately use another dash or whatever else you want. This is the sole reason why Speed style can compete with other styles. Note 4: I am not sure about this, but Metal Grapplers may have bigger sprites (ie. be bigger targets) than other models. Seriously, WTF. This makes most, if not all, Robo models obsolete - even the illegal ones. Understandably, this is illegal in the normal tournaments. =============================================================================== 3. Guns ....................................................... =============================================================================== How to read: Gun Name Obtain ------ Location of where the part can be found. Power ------- Likely potential Damage output of the bullet clip. (/L: More damage is done at longer range) Speed ------- Speed of the bullet. (in-game-stat) Homing ------ Homing capability of the bullet. (in-game-stat) Reload ------ Ability to fire again after emptying the clip. (in-game-stat) Knockdown --- Likely potential KD damage. Recoil ------ Immobile time after emptying the clip. (lower = shorter recoil) Detail: Further description of the gun. Gun is the primary weapon in Custom Robo GX. It is the quickest and most versatile weapon in most situations. Once fired, it fires until the bullet clip is completely empty. In other Custom Robo games, many guns shoot differently in the air than on the ground. In Custom Robo GX (there is no jumping in this game), they all have Alpha Shot (A) and Beta Shot (B). You can change the control in the setting to make the access to those shots easier. Most guns allow you to be mobile while firing a gun. This is especially relavent to guns that shoot a stream of bullets. However, some shots cause immediate immobility while firing. If shots have either large recoil or immediate immobility, they will be noted in the Detail section ("immobile"). Guns have maximum travel distance before they automaticall disappear. These signs will be in the Detail section: SSS (Shortest Range): point-blank range SS (Shorter Range): shorter than half-screen S (Short Range): half-screen M (Mid Range): half-screen to full-screen L (Long Range): a bit more than full-screen LL (Longer Range): significantly longer than full-screen LLL (Longest Range): long stage+ distance There are also different effects when the bullet (or Bomb/Pod) comes in contact with a wall. The following is a list of the signs: +/ (Nothing): Disappears upon contact (or in Bomb/Pod's case, explodes). +R (Reflect): Bounces off the wall in the same angle of the contact. +W (Wall): Follows the wall's surface and continues its homing ability. +T (Through): Goes through the wall as if the wall is not even there. Lastly, gun bullets can be cancelled (called Overload) if the Robo that shot the gun is KDed by the enemy's gun. The bullets will not overload if the Robo is KDed by other weapons. Note 1: Many guns have different stats for Alpha Shot and Beta Shot. However, in-game-stats list only one. And they don't even specify which shot the stat is referring to. Maybe it's the average? (assuming it's even accurate) Keep that in mind. Note 2: Some guns can do more damage than the listed stat, if the conditions are just right. However, I will list the damage of what is LIKELY to happen. For example, Burning Shot can do up to 96 damage (6 hits) if you get the enemy's back onto a wall, but for most situations, enemy will be knocked backwards after getting hit by the first bullet, hence avoiding the rest of the bullets. They cause explosions, which may not only do decent direct damage, but can limit the enemy's movements or even freeze them. The explosions are typically bigger than the Pods. Similar to the previous games, bombs target a cursor mark on the field. However, unlike the previous games, you cannot move the cursor. Thanks to that though, none of the bombs have any recoil. Most bombs have letter codes, which denote the effects of the explosion. The following is a list of the codes. P (Push): Pushes the target away from the explosion. R (Return): Pulls the target towards the explosion. U (Up): Knocks the target upwards. D (Down): Knocks the target downwards. S (Stun): Stuns the target in place for ~2.5 seconds. Generally, R bombs have weaker power, and S bombs have weaker power and smaller explosions. There are also different effects when the bullet (or Bomb/Pod) comes in contact with a wall. The following is a list of the signs: +/ (Nothing): Disappears upon contact (or in Bomb/Pod's case, explodes). +R (Reflect): Bounces off the wall in the same angle of the contact. +W (Wall): Follows the wall's surface and continues its homing ability. +T (Through): Goes through the wall as if the wall is not even there. Pods and Gunners are support weapons.  They do weaker damage compared to other
weapons, but they stay on the field longer, which can hinder enemy's movements,
compliment other weapons, and/or provide defensive supports.

Unlike Guns and Bombs, the direction which Pods/Gunners are fired can be
changed.  Simply point to the direction you want to fire using the direction
pad, then fire.  The initial direction (not pressing in any direction) will
point to the enemy.

Pods cause small explosions upon colliding with the enemy (or enough time has
passed).

Gunners stay on the field and shoot bullets (5 damage), and they automatically
return to the Robo once enough time has passed or the Robo is KDed.

Most Pods have letter codes, which denote the effects of the explosion.  The
following is a list of the codes.

  P (Push):	Pushes the target away from the explosion.
  R (Return):	Pulls the target towards the explosion.
  U (Up):	Knocks the target upwards.
  D (Down):	Knocks the target downwards.
  S (Stun):	Stuns the target in place for ~2.5 seconds.

There are also different effects when the bullet (or Bomb/Pod) comes in contact
with a wall.  The following is a list of the signs:

  +/ (Nothing):	Disappears upon contact (or in Bomb/Pod's case, explodes).
  +R (Reflect):	Bounces off the wall in the same angle of the contact.
  +W (Wall):	Follows the wall's surface and continues its homing ability.
  +T (Through):	Goes through the wall as if the wall is not even there.

Note 1:	All Pods/Gunners have no recoil.

Note 2:	All Pods (not Gunners) can have up to 2 pods on the field.  The pods
	reload once the explosions are gone from the field.  Unlike the bombs
	however, the pods that fire two at the same time reload when only one
	of the explosions is gone.  However, firing the pod again cancels the
	already active pod.

Note 3:	Unlike the previous games, your own explosions do not damage you.  They
	are all color-coded to identify which of the explosions are yours:  Red
	and Pink are your explosions, and Green and Yellow are the enemy's.

Note 4:	All Pods and Gunner bullets do 100 KD damage, except Nikaidou Pod,
	which does 250 KD damage.

In the other Custom Robo games, all Robos had their own unique melee attacks.
In Custom Robo GX, the action ability is decided by what Action Chip the Robo
uses.  There are two categories - Melee and Shield.

Melee chips allow the Robos to do charge attacks while making them completely
invincible during the attack animation.  The attacks minorly auto-adjust their
aim towards the enemy.  However, they all have short recoils after the attack
animation, making them vulnerable.

Shield chips allow the Robos to form a barrier around themselves to block any
attacks.  However, each Shield has their own Shield Energy (SE), and once that
is completely depleted, the barrier will not form for 10 seconds.  The action
is still usable, though.  After 10 seconds, EP will start to recharge, but if
you activate the barrier during the recharge, EP will stop recharging.

Note 1:	All Action Chips can be used during any dash, allowing them to cancel
	the dash into an immediate action.
