A Little Guide to Fushigi no Kuni no Angelique (Angelique in Wonderland) Version 1.00, Created 09/09/02 by Jennifer Neighbors (msmarcel@threeheadeddog.com, http://j1.threeheadeddog.com) --------------------------- INTRODUCTION --------------------------- THE ANGELIQUE SERIES: The "Angelique" series is an adorable series of games aimed at girls by Koei of Japan. As of this date, there are 7 major games in the series: Angelique (and Angelique Special, an upgraded version) Fushigi no Kuni no Angelique (this game) Angelique Special 2 Angelique Duet (*completely* revamped version of Special) Angelique: Tenkuu no Requiem Sweet Ange (a cute game boy color game) and Angelique Trois (a really nifty PS2 game) You can find English information about this series of games at http://marfisa.0catch.com. FUsHIGI NO KUNI NO ANGELIQUE: Now, Fushigi no Kuni no Angelique is an odd Alice in Wonderland themed spinoff of the series, full of mini-games and fan-oriented oddness. ^^ Though the bulk of information was found in the "Fushigi no Angelique Advance Guide" by Ruby Party (the division of Koei responsible for the Angelique games), the information in this FAQ should apply to not just the GBA edition, but all versions of the game unless otherwise stated. It would be beneficial to you to turn your Japanese-encoding settings on, so you can see the names of the items properly and such. --------------------------- FAQ OUTLINE: I. Characters II. Basics A. Basics --------------------------- NOW, some game basics: --------------------------- A. THE BOARD Here is (roughly) the layout of the Sanctuary in Fushigi no Kuni no Angelique. (numbering conventions are same as the Japanese official guide, since they work very well) __ __________ | | | | |16|_ | 21 | /|__| \ |__________| (15) |\(**) / | / | ______ (00) (20) (14) | | |/ | | | | 28 | (24) _|__ (13) | |______| / \ | | | (17) | (25) (23)-| 19 |-(12) | | / |____| | | (27)-(26) | (11) ___ (18) (22) \ | 9 | | (10)-|___|/ (START) _______ | \ (02) |04 | 05| (08) (01)/ \ |___|___| (07)/ (03)/ \(06)/ for the most part, pink denotes a good space, blue denotes a bad space, and anything else is special events/opportunities. START - this is where you start the game. Not much to do here. 01 - you can randomly find items here 02 - you will find one or 2 silver pieces here 03 - go back a space 04 - your room (important events here) 05 - Rosalia's room... either agree or disagree with Rosalia's baaya-san on Rosalia's qualities: this causes you to either keep going in the same direction or to be turned around. 06 - you can randomly find items here 07 - the Priest offers you pictures of the Shugosei ^^ (these show up in omake mode if you have the GBA version) 08 - Angelique starts randomly singing the school song. ^^; There are 3 verses. 09 - Fortune Teller: here, you must get through the quiz to move on. This quiz is very hard, not only being in Japanese, but requiring previous knowledge of the game/anime/CD-drama series. White Roses and Crystals can help you... if you have the GBA version, and somewhat-easy cheat is to randomly guess than keep resetting until that is enough to get yout through it (it can be done in the Playstation version, but it is much more time consuming). 10 - Mori no O-sampo: A fun game hosted by Olivie. You can get a bunch of silver pieces here. If the frog comes, you're out... but don't feel bad... it's random ^^; 11 - Go back 2 spaces 12 - Telephone Box: If you want, you can use a silver piece to call one of the Shugosei. I don't believe this actually affects the DP level at all... but it's cute ^^; 13 - Silver Piece Slots: roll the dice; you get the amount you roll in silver pieces 14 - Puddle: stuck here until you roll a 1. A very bad space to land on. 15 - you can randomly find items here 16 - Lake in the Woods: there are two Shugosei here, speak to the one on the left to play Shugosei-same Crush (the Tetris-like game) or speak to the one on the right to get a love event with that person (choosing the second option in the dialogue that pops up... otherwise nothing happens). 17 - Dia: she will turn back the clock for you. Very helpful in getting to the tea part on time. (4:00) 18 - Poison Mushroom: lose 1 or 2 silver pieces. 19 - Park (many special events here... including a sliding puzzle mini-game, Mystery Museum) 20 - Mysterious Fog: can fly to any pink space on the board. 21 - The East of the Sacred Palace (the March Hare's tea party): there are many special events here. There's nothing really important in the first room (simply, the person in the middle can tell you where the shiner-person is at that moment). However, in the next room, there are two people, a lady and a gentleman. At the proper place in the game, talking to the lady will get you to the Star-place, where you can convert your silver stars into golden star pieces. Speaking to the gentleman will allow you to change the face of your dice to your favorite Guardian ^^ 22 - South of the Park: you meet the caterpillar here. 23 - you can randomly get 1 or 2 silver pieces here. 24 - roll the dice and lose that many silver pieces. 25 - Field of Mirrors: you can clone an item or get a doll of yourself from your priest. 26 - fall down back to start 27 - either nothing happens, or you may find acquire one of the Guardian's lost items. 28 - the Royal Research Institute: speak to Pastha here. After visiting the first time, do not come back unless you desire to be warped back to start. 00 - a mysterious space... seems to have something to do with certain of the "Date Endings" ** - get close to the mysterious merchant, and he may invite you to visit his shop, located here. --------------------------- B. ITEMs There are many helpful items available to you. Here are some of the more important ones... there are, of course, many other less important items. キノコの右はし-A Piece from the Right Side of the Mushroom: adds 1 to your dice roll (does not allow you to go more than 4, though) キノコの左はし-A Piece from the Left Side of the Mushroom: subtracts 1 from your dice roll (does not allow you to go to less than 1, however) 女王の手鏡-The Queen's Hand Mirror: when used, increases the chances of meeting one of the Guardians. パスカード-Passcard: Allows you to pass on the events of the square you will land on. ロザリアの扇-Rosalia's Folding Fan: Randomly changes the face of the die. ロザリアの手袋-Rosalia's Hand Bag: Allows you to re-roll the die. 赤いバラ-Red Rose: Allows you to change the picture in the sliding puzzle game. クリスタル-Crystal: Lowers the amount of questions you have to answer correctly in the quiz game. In Shugosei-sama Crush, lowers the amount of points you have to win. 白いバラ-White Rose: Lowers the choices in the quiz game from three to two. 砂時計-Hourglass: gives you more time in Shugosei-sama Crush and Mystery Museum (the sliding puzzle game) アイテムの素-Item Essence: Creates a random special item. ひみつの薬-Mysterious Herb: Live your dream: become one of the guardians for a short period of time! EVENT ITEMS: 絵ハガキ-Picture postcard 絵ハガキセット-Picture postcard set (Can be bought in the mysterious merchant's shop. If given to the man at the west gate of the park, will permanently open the door... otherwise you have to keep giving him the regular postcards) 金のカギ-Golden key 銀のカギ-Silver key 小さなお菓子-Little candy 小さなボトル-Little bottle SOME SPECIAL ITEMS: の鈴-Bell of : corresponds to the elements of the Guardians. Using one summons the appropriate Guardian to talk to. 色絵ハガキ- colored picture postcard: if used, raises your DP with the corresponding Guardian. --------------------------- C. DICE STUFF Just quickly, to avoid ever being asked. Here are the different types of dice rolls you can get and what they mean: Four leaf clover: You meet with a random Guardian. Gift box: You get one or two Silver Star Pieces. Numbers (1-4): Ooh... so tricky. You move that number of spaces! Talking to gentleman in the palace will allow you to change the default face of the die to the Guardian you are closest to, as described in the section about square #22. --------------------------- III. ENDINGS --------------------------- A. TEA PARTY The path to the tea party: (this is the best ending, and gets you all the omake in the GBA version.) Basically, you will find that you need to get the Golden Star for Pastha in order to get to the tea party. Here's how to do it: Step 1- Go to your room(04) and acquire the golden key by searching the top of your dresser. Step 2- Talk to Sara at the fortune telling-place(09) and clear Sara's super-tough quiz. (The Crystal and White Rose items can help you.) Step 3- Go to the lake in the woods(16) and speak to the Guardian on the left. Clear the mini-game and acquire the silver key. Step 4- Go to the Royal Research Institute(28) and accept the mission of finding the golden star for Pastha. Step 5- Open the south gates of the park with your silver key. Go south and speak to the caterpillar(square 22). Step 6- Go to the base of the waterfall(15) and acquire the little bottle. Step 7- Go back to your room(04) and go through the little door using the silver key and the little bottle. You will now speak with the catepillar who will tell you how to convert your silver stars into gold star pieces. Step 8- Gather silver stars and convert them into gold star pieces. GETTING THE GOLDEN STAR PIECES: Go to the palace and choose not to speak with the people at the table. In the next room, choose to speak to the lady. You will find out her name is Alice (^^;)... this will lead you to the next room, where you can convert your silver stars into... a black stone that looks like coal. Do not worry, though. You can pay the villager who shows in the park and at Sara's with a silver star piece to polish it up for you. Step 9- When you gather all the golden star pieces and acquire the golden star, go back to Pastha(28) with the golden star and win against Rosalia in her minigame (so long as it is before 4:00, when the tea part starts...). ^_^ Hehe... good luck! --------------------------- B. LOVE ENDINGS The path to romance: (Let the dream end with a confession of love.) Of course, the best part of the Angelique is getting to end up with one of the Guardians. Fortunately, while it is quite different from the other games in the series, Fushigi no Kuni retains this important aspect. There are two main types of love endings in Fushigi no Kuni no Angelique, the Date Ending and the Lake Confession ending. --------------------------- 1. Lake Confession- This one is very easy to get, and has some cute pictures... although the GBA version of the game has the ending pictures for this ending removed. You just need to meet your favorite Guardian at the Lake in the Woods three times (not including times when they are just there to play Shugosei-sama Crush), choosing the second option every time. --------------------------- 2. Date Ending- In order to get this ending, you have to raise your favorite Guardian's DP level (something like their affinity in this game) to above 50, and then go to the tea party. After the tea party, your beloved should ask you to go somewhere, and there you will get a cute little voice clip (in the GBA version) and a picture. ^_^ A good strategy for getting DP up is to select the most compatible blood types/signs for your targetted Guardian (it's the same as in all the Angelique games), then get up the second level of the Lake Confession ending (that will get you to about 24-25DP. After that, give them lots of silver stars(+5 each) and return to each of them their special 'forgotten item'(+10). Of course, if you have the GBA version, you can also use/give them the special items from the omake mode. You also gain a point every time you meet them. Be aware, though, that everytime Rosalia interferes, you lose a point of DP with that Guardian. If you are going after a specific Guardian, here is a quick list of some sign/blood type combinations that will get you the most starting DP(usually 9; 10 in the cases of Marcel and Zephel) Julious- Aries, Leo, or Sagitarius, Blood Type A. Clavis- Capricorn, Scorpio, or Cancer, Blood Type O. Luva- Virgo, Cancer, or Pisces, Blood Type B. Oscar- Aries, Leo, or Sagitarius, Blood Type B. Lumiale- Taurus, Virgo, or Cancer, Blood Type O. olivie- Gemini or Libra, Blood Type A. Randy- Aries or Sagitarius, Blood Type A. Zephel- Leo, Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius, Blood Type AB. Marcel- Taurus, Pisces, Scorpio, or Cancer, Blood Type AB. Have fun and Good Luck! ^_^ --------------------------- That's all. Bye-Bye. --------------------------- BTW, please sign the petition to get Angelique for GBA brought to America: http://petition.threeheadeddog.com --------------------------- This document Copyright 2002 Jennifer Neighbors
