Version 0.25 - 19/10/02 Contains most of Karen's part, a few description of the main female characters, controls and options and two mini-games. ------------------------------------- 2: Introduction ------------------------------------- This game is entirely text based; the only thing you get to do is choose answers to questions which don't appear all that often. It's a rather long game, even though it's all on 9 days. Anyway, it is definitely NOT an action game. You can't even see how your character looks like. It's more like a dating sim, but you can't choose where you want to go (a character is set to a place). I decided to make this walkthrough because it was a good game with beautiful drawings. It was sad that no one even knew about it. Also, this walkthrough will only tell which choices to make, no translations of text. I'll first write up Karen's part. If it all goes well, I'll write another for the next character. I've played once before writing this faq. It may have affected the choices I'll make, to complete what I had already. It is definitely impossible to obtain every "books" and CGs at once. This faq will cover as much as possible, but it won't tell you how to get everything. Basically, once you've completed the game with this walkthrough, simply choose something else in the "screen goes dark" options. You don't need to change the choices when there are circles on the lower-right part of the screen. However, if you do, you will not be able to have them flashing, BUT it may have other interesting issues. ------------------------------------- 3: Characters - General information ------------------------------------- Here I will only list the female characters, since they appear the most. Main characters: ----------------- Karen Mikumo : A knight. Also the "love princess". She will always take you somewhere to play mini-games. You can choose to play or not though. From these, you can get points and use them to buy cards. It will be explained in the options part. You first meet her with Shilfee. Male, 16 years old. The game starts when he is ordained along with Karen as a "Holy Knight". At the age of ten, he became an orphan when his parents both fell ill and died. He was raised with Silfee in the child orphanage ran by Father Browny, the greatest scholar in Lucitamia. He despises the "Mazoku", likes most Lucitamia's people, but his thoughts change as the story progresses. He is a friend of Algas, and is talented with the sword. His full name never comes out during the game. Karen: The leading female main character, 16 years old. She knew Yuuki since he was a child, and the main character often jokes about how she should be his "Love-Princess". Though she is not as skilled as Yuuki with the sword, she is unrivalled in her use of the lance and horse-riding talents. Her full name is Mikumo Karen, which sounds foreign to Lucitamia's people. Yuuki states that she came to Lucitamia at a very early age, and she probably doesn't talk about her homeland because she can't remember it. However, she later reveals that she is a princess of a distant land, and she ran away from there because she didn't want to be a princess. This was the reason for her being so hostile in her childhood when Yuuki joked about her being his "love-princess". She has many friends, including Silfie, Serie, Alicia. She convinces Yuuki to join her in listening to Father Browny's public teachings, which sparks the start of the story. Beautiful, elegant, respected and powerful, she is also smart and sensitive. Shilfee: A childhood friend of Yuuki. Aged 18, she is the most popular girl in town. She is a blacksmith, and sells weapons and armour along with Ellis who is currently living in her shop. She loves jewellery and is, according to Yuuki, a very good chef. Yuuki will often stop by her shop to get her to cook her "Special Shilfee Pasta", or any other meal she makes. Her shop is located next to a variety store which sells anything from perfume to herbs, and both shop will appear a couple of times throughout the game. Though Karen, Yuuki and others have never known, Shilfee was once the "Love-Princess" of Algas's brother. However, he was killed when he found out what Rijuu and the King was plotting to do. Shilfee never let her sadness appear in public, and no one other than Judis (the variety store keeper), Algas and a few others knew of the incident. She was incredibly hostile to Yuuki whenever he asked her to be his "Love-Princess" in her childhood, and despises the Royalty and the castle. She will sometimes leave her own shop having Ellis run the shop while she help out at the pub named "". She claims that when she is there, the pubs' earnings double. She is cute, popular and acquainted with many people. Her full name is Shilfee Rosebank. Alicia: A mazoku, female, 16 years old. Intellectual, she works as Father Browny's assistant when he deciphers the ancient writings. She is a nun, and is a childhood friend of Yuuki, who is amazed to find that a person who was so rowdy became a nun and is so quiet now. Her parents were deported at around the time Yuuki's parents died, and her father was lynched and killed. Her mother wandered to her relatives in "", but died of heartbreak when the lord of the land persecuted her relatives. The lord who killed her relatives is now in jail, suffering from a whereby he is eternally hungry, and never feels full. He is there in the cell next to Father Browny's, and when Alicia feels anger towards the man, Father Browny simply states that he has already received enough punishment from God (eternal hunger). Alicia lives at the Raa Monastary, and, as she possesses intimate knowledge of herbs, she is the manager of the herbal garden there. Like all mazokus, she has "powers", and saves Yuuki near the end of the story by directing the pillars of fire away from him. Other than Father Browny, she is the most intelligent character in the game. Her full name is Alicia Glenfield. Yuna: The princess of the Kingdom of Lucitamia. Unnaturally similar to the now deceased Princess Maria, she has not appeared in front of the public until the event early in the story, where she attends Father Browny’s public lectures. She was adopted from the Kingdom of Heildam after Princess Maria’s tragic death. She is unbelievably strong, and her carefree attitude towards other people’s class and polite personality is the reason why everybody likes her. It will be noted upon the story that she asks everyone she meets to be her friend. Father Browny is her personal tutor, and thus she has absolute trust in his innocence when she hears that he was charged with theft. At first, she sounds a little awkward, but soon, as Yuuki puts it, the surrounding people are drawn into the "Yuna World", fascinating everyone she meets. At first, Yuuki will talk to her in a strict "knight to princess" fashion, but she soon pleads to him to speak to her as a normal friend would to another, as she values friendship more than manners. Her full name is Yuna Ekbert, and is renowned for her ability to eat large quantities of food (she loves food and, as Gideon puts it, "eats like a king"). She is usually confined to the castle under the strict watch of guards and the Minister. She personally dislikes the Minister, and tells Yuuki that the King hardly ever speaks to her (the king loved Princess Maria very much, and after her tragic death, he became traumatized, and Yuuki suspects that it pains him to see Yuna, who is so similar in appearance to Princess Maria). Her knowledge is unique, as she will sometimes ask for definitions of simple words (eg. soon), while knowing complex concepts of Alibis and Gringon Explosives. ----------------- Side characters: Browny: The greatest scholar in the kingdom of Lucitamia. Runs the church orphanage where Yuuki and Shilfee were raised. He is very patient and is liked by all, never letting anger get hold of him. Yuuki claims that he has never heard him shout. He is convicted of stealing the "monster statue", a relic which houses one of the "Treasure Orbs". He is asked by Minister Rijuu to translate and decipher an ancient text which contained very important matters regarding the history and religion of Lucitamia, and thus Rijuu plots to silence him to conceal the truth. He is a Gnome and is very fat. However, he is currently going on diet, a fact that stuns most people (Yuuki assumes that Alicia persuaded him). When Rijuu accuses him of theft, nobody believes him, which shows how popular the father is. He holds public lectures, as well as a private tutoring for Alicia and Princess Yuna. Zaji: A hale Elf. He was despised by both humans and elves due to his blood. Both his parents died when he was about 10, and he was adopted by an old man called "Zaji" (the Gatekeeper). Zaji(old) was a mazoku and when the "Mazoku-Gari" (mazoku hunt) started, he was lynched. Algas came just in time to rescue Zaji(young), but the old Zaji died in Princess Maria's arms soon after. As the "Gate Keeper" was now dead, the "Furuki Monodomo" ("the Old Ones") came out of earth. Only by the sacrifice of Princess Maria was the evil creature(?) resealed. Zaji, now alone, was put into the "Camp" (like a public hospital). There he realizes his "power", which he claims to be brought by anger. He was then sent to the orphanage, but he fled the place after 2 days because Father Browny was too kind, and he felt that his anger would disappear, thus taking away his "power". Anyway, note that Algas saved his life, that he took his name from the old gatekeeper (saying that he had already forgotten his original name) and that he had been, for a short while, in the same orphanage as the main character's. Algas: The head of the guards of the palace. He is strong, very strong. He possesses a sword that has been "Astral Processed", and thus can protect himself from the "power" used by Zaji and the mazoku. He is also liked by many, but also feared. He is a good friend of Yuuki, and is aged 36. He also has absolute trust from the King, but is disliked by Minister Rijuu. He was previously a "Holy knight", but lost his "power" when his love princess, Princess Maria died in the tragic event at the forbidden land. Kunuut: The leader of the "holy knights" of Lucitamia. He can use his "power" to move things at will. He is the brother of the current King Ekbert. He is handsome, liked my many, feared by some. He is sent on an expedition to fight the mazoku by Minister Rijuu and the king, but turns back to save Lucitamia when hearing the news from Father Browny. He is renowned for his courage, loyalty and strength. A good friend of Algas, and is the superior of Yuuki and Karen. Rijuu: The evil druid monk that plans to revive the "ancient ones". Plots to kill Father Browny, Yuuki, and others by using his personal guards, and often interferes with the investigations that Yuuki is involved in. He can use a spell that manipulates pillars of fire. He is from the Kingdom of Heildam. Not liked by many, disliked by countless, feared by all. He tricks the king into collecting and using the orbs to revive the "ancient ones", saying that they will revive princess Maria. The typical evil bad guy, a coward, and dies at the end, having his body slashed by either Yuuki or Karen. ------------------------------------- 4: Controls ------------------------------------- Direction pad: highlight your choice, in mini-games, move, stop R A: choose in menu only, stop R B: next part of the text, press to accelerate, cancel, stop R (in story menu, press to go off the part with the books) L: history of the text you've seen (not menu), previous on yellow screen, stop R, previous page in the 4.1.2 option before the game R: scroll text fast (you won't need to press B), twice to stop, next page in the 4.1.2 option before game Select: option Start: see image only ------------------------------------- 5: Options ------------------------------------- Before the game: 1: New game: star a new game 2: Continue: continue exactly from where you last saved 3: History : see which scenes you've gone through 4: Other : 1: cards 1: buy cards (you can get 2 from finishing the game) 2: see cards 3: trade cards, when you've chosen the cards, press down. 1 is yes, 2 is no. 2: view CGs of characters (unlocked during the game) 3: mini-games 1: treasure hunting 2: 9 square 3: hit all the blocks In the game: 1: Save, there are 6 places 2: History ------------------------------------- 6 : Walkthrough ------------------------------------- First, you will need to have a name. Since I guess most of you can't understand, try to pick one you can easily remember (it will be shown when your character will speak). Now press ok and the first day will begin. ------------------------------------- 6.1: Karen - Day 1 Algas (a man with a shield on his left arm) will welcome you. Scroll until Karen asks you something. There will be two choices at first. Choose A,A and B, the three circles will flash. Next question: A,A,B. After the pause (I'll call that a pause from now), you'll be in a church. There will be another sort of choices. Here, it doesn't matter who you choose first, you'll see them all. Now you'll have to choose which girl you want. First is Karen, second is Shilfee, third is Alicia, and finally Serie. Since this part is Karen only, choose the first option. And then once more, since the second one is going directly to the pause. Next question: B,C,B. After the second pause, you'll meet the princess. The choices will be in the same order, and the fifth will be Yuna. Choose the first one. In town, Shilfee will come and invite you to her shop. Here, you'll get a CG and meet the little fairy (Ellis) for the first time. After a while, pick the first option. ------------------------------------- 6.1: Karen - Day 2 Right when it begins, questions will come up: B,A,B. Now prepare for one of the longest conversations in the game. In fact, it's just like a presentation of the people in the castle. Then the priest (the big, fat guy) will explain about the world and wars. You'll get to choose only one of the girls. First is Karen, next is Yuna. Choose Karen. No matter who you chose, you have to meet with the princess first, and then with Karen before the pause. Now the girl you chose will appear (in this case, Karen). In the garden, a big rabbit will show up. Then you go to a bar and meet Judis... one of Shilfee's friend. Since you're in town, why don't you visit Shilfee (automatically)? After, you'll get another question: C,B,A. Back into the castle, choose 1,2,1,3, 4,3,2,1,1. In Karen's room, something happens, choose 2. You'll then go back to Yuna's room (with lots of books). After the pause, choose 2. Outside, the girl you'll see is Alicia. When she leaves, you're off to the ruins. Despite being armed like there's no tomorrow, people won't be attacking you. Even if they did, you can't fight so... A green-haired man will then appear. He has a very important role at the end. Back to the castle, you'll be with the old man, then he goes in the prison room. ------------------------------------- 6.1: Karen - Day 3 Once more, choose the first one, Karen. Second is Shilfee, third is Alicia and fourth is Yuna. Here, only Karen and Yuna will have different clothing. Anyway, Karen's outfit makes her look like a farm girl. In town, she'll ask you questions: A,B,B (an extension comes),A (yet another extension),A. You've earned a CG of Karen feeding(?) a rabbit! Here Ellis will come. She'll take you to Ellis's Magical Mystery Tour. (Note: I'm not sure if you does if it's your first time playing) Choose 1. If you need explanations on the mini-game, choose 2. If not, choose 1. See explanations in the Mini-games section. After the game, you'll be asked if you want to continue. To do so, choose 1. To stop, choose 2. When you stop, you'll notice that it's evening outside, and Shilfee will be there. After the pause, you'll get another CG, this time, it's Karen practicing with a sword. Note: I missed a CG here, can anyone tell me how to get it? ------------------------------------- 6.1: Karen - Day 4 This time, the places are listed. First is the forest (Karen), second is a bar (Shilfee), third is outside the castle (Alicia), and last is the forest (Yuna). As always, choose Karen. You'll be entering the shrine. Choose 1 (Serie). If you want a CG, choose 2, then 1. Choosing 2 and 2 will be the same as choosing 1 only. You'll meet with Serie in the forest. After the pause, you'll meet with the king. Next question: B,B,B. Then, you'll be at the gate entrance with a soldier. Next place is a poor village. Apparently, you sleep in some house in a forest. Though the sky is clear once more, the day isn't finished. There will be a fight before you go into the house. There's nothing much to do in this section. ------------------------------------- 6.1: Karen - Day 5 Again, you'll have to choose who you want to spend the day with. Choose 1. Once more, Ellis will take you to her mystery tour. You'll notice the three doors. There will be 3 options. In the order they appear: left, centre, right. You can't enter the left one. Choose the centre door (the left takes you directly to the game). To play, choose 1. To go back without playing, choose 2. If you chose 1, do it again to play. The second option is the rules. When you're finished, you'll be asked if you want to play again. 1 is continue, 2 is stop. It won't if you chose the left door. In town, Karen will ask you a question: A,B,C (extension),A (extension),C. You'll get a CG of Karen crying and uh... your character's hand. ------------------------------------- 6.1: Karen - Day 6 Wasn't that a short day? Well this one will be almost the same. You'll see a map of the monastery. On your visit, you'll notice that something disappeared. That map will come back often. After you get out, you decide to visit every room. In the L2 one, that statue isn't there anymore. You'll go ask someone about it and a guard will go confirm what you said. Then you'll be going to get Algas inspect the place. After the pause, you'll be able to choose who you want to search with. 1 is Karen, 2 is Shilfee and 3 if Alicia. Of course, choose 1. Then, you'll have 4 choices. They are places of the monastery. There's no particular order; you have to see them all. But you can't go twice to a place. The 4th option is the map. 3rd is the path where the 4 roads cross. 2nd are the exits. There are 4 and you'll have to see them all. They're all alike. 1st are the rooms. The last is L2. When you're done, a new set of options will appear. Try them all once then go back to 4. Now choose 2 to end this. Then you go and visit Shilfee. Here goes another pause. In the monastery, the 7th day will begin after Algas talks with the old man. ------------------------------------- 6.1: Karen - Day 7 The books on this day are um... adjusting to who you chose on day 6. If, for example, you chose Alicia on day 6, you won't be able to choose her again, same goes for all the characters. Shilfee and Karen form a group, Karen and Yuna form to other one. Anyway, after meeting the king, you're in the forest with a fire. Someone will speak to you. You can decide if it's either 1, Shilfee or 2, Alicia. Choose 2. There will soon be a pause. You'll see that you're on a mountain. When you reach the end, there will be a hole, but before you enter, you'll be attacked. Alicia will be using her "mazoku power" to beat them. The next scene, you find yourself outside with Karen. Here will be a serie of choices with all the characters (I think these scenes might be memories). The question will come as long as you don't choose the right one, and there's only one correct answer for each. Anyway, for the lazy people, here are the answers: C,B,C,A,A,B,A,B,A, and at last, A. You'll see some kind of monster before Alicia comes back. In town, you have to choose where you want to go. 1 is the king's room, 2 is the soldiers's room. Choose 1, since you'll end up going to the soldiers's room either way. In the house will be a long conversation with the green-haired man. If you must know, his name is Zaji. They will be talking about what happened 7 years ago. Apparently it's related to the monster you saw in the cave... ------------------------------------- 6.1: Karen - Day 8 This day is also related to day 6 and 7. Why am I saying that? Because you can't choose anyone on these days (7 & 8). Both choices on day 7 end up the same. Right when the 8th day starts, you'll get a CG of Karen. Somehow, a monster got into one of the rooms and you'll have to kill it. After Alicia appears, you and Karen will kill the monster. You'll see a CG of it... though you can't see your character's eyes and hair. I believe Shilfee appears instead if you chose her on day 7. Well at least you'll know that your character's dressed exactly like Karen. When the monster will be gone... day 9 comes. I hate this day because you can't do anything at all. I'm missing lots of books and a CG that are supposed to come after the monster's gone. ------------------------------------- 6.1: Karen - Day 9 The final day, at last. You'll see the guards beaten up. They look really funny. In town, you'll meet Shilfee before going to the beach... where the last scene is. Karen will tell you that she's a princess from a far away land, and you'll go meet her father. After he says yes, you'll get a CG of Karen kissing. Note: Could anyone tell me how to get the other books? It's too short to be a "complete" day. In the ending, you'll see lots of CGs, but although you haven't got some, you can't get them by this way. After the ending, you get to choose 2 packs of cards. The first row has usually more cards, but it's random. The second one has more rare cards. And the third one (you can only buy) has even more rare cards. ------------------------------------- 7: Mini-Games ------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- Treasure hunting: With the pieces of "the road" you get from the card packs, you can built up the remaining "roads" in one of the 4 "god land". Upper left is Genbu, upper right is Byakko, lower left is Seiryu, and lower right is Suzaku. When you get the 4 treasures in a land, you'll get a character's image. There can only be one of each. When you get them all, a new title screen will be there instead of the normal one. It has the 4 main girl characters on it. You can also have some Kigae, or costume change. With these, everytime you pause, the characters will be wearing with "casual" costumes. Eg, Karen will be wearing her farm clothes. ------------------------------------- The 9 square game: Press A on every green monster to get 100 pts. The more you hit, the more your combos grow up. It won't go down if you don't hit anything. The maximum combo is 9. When an object appears, quickly press B on it. Then the heads of female characters will pop up. You'll have to hit one with B. By doing so, the number of combo will be multiplicated by 100 and added to your score. After hitting Karen, your combos will go back down to 1. It also resets whenever you hit a wrong thing. Not only it resets, but it can also take away 50 to 100 pts from your score. Of course, as the time goes, the cards will disappear faster. Objects: Grey arm : Karen Roses : Alicia Gold jewel: Shilfee White cake: Yuna ------------------------------------- The hit all the blocks game: When you're ready, press A. It will randomly choose one of the three levels of power. The first is strong, second is medium and third is weak. You have 99 chances. You use 1 every time you press A. If a block goes nearly outside its upper or lower block, but doesn't fly away, you lose 10 chances. If you hit the highest bar (the red one with words on it), or higher than that, you lose 6 chances. At the end, the number of chances left is added to your score. The maximum score you can get is 10250 (by having always strong and hitting the right blocks). Every time a block flies out, 500 points are added. You can't lose points. The girls' face change almost every time you play, but it doesn't matter.
