It plays a lot like zelda, you have a life bar designated by a heart amount, and killing bosses raises the max heart count. CONTROLS: _____________________________________________________________________ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Bomberman has very simple controls. The menu set up is a little awkward, but you get used to it rather quickly. Direction Pad - moves bomberman. - walking into a bomb kicks it. Must have Knuckle Pommy in your team. A Button - places bombs. - (double tap) throws a bomb. Must have Strong in your team. - (tap once, then hold A) holds a bomb. Must have Strong in your team. B Button - detonates certain bombs. - stop a bomb in mid-kick. - activate karabom powers. L Button - brings up a map. R Button - brings up the item, bomb, and karabom menus. Start Button - pauses the game. Select Button - brings up the save menu. _____________________________________________________________________ --------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. WALKTHROUGH: _____________________________________________________________________ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Watch the opening movie when you turn on your GBA. It will help you understand the story. And scare you. Definitely scare you. ----------- Alpha Town | ------------------------------------------ Exit your ship. Head up a bit and enter the first house. Talk to the girl to hear about her ring dilemma, then go next door and talk to the camera man to hear about Louie. Now go to the northeast side of town and head north into the L.Forest. --------- L.Forest | karabom01 ------------------------------------------ Bomb the left vine so he retreats and head left into the tree stump. Bomb away the two plants and murder the floating balloon. Head right and go into the tree stump. When you emerge, place a bomb by the left and right plants holding the trapped animal. Be sure not to trap yourself! Get the ring and backtrack to the girl's house to deliver the ring. You'll get a small potion, and when you exit her house Pommy joins you! Head back into the L.Forest, go left into the stump again, and bomb the north vine so it retreats. Go north. Oh, whenever you see a bush now, blow it up so you can get power-ups for your karabom. Follow the logical path, blow up some balloon monsters, some vines, hop in some trunks. Eventually you'll get the picture of Louie. Backtrack and give it to the man next door to the girl in town. ----------- Alpha Town | ------------------------------------------ Take your new sensor and give it to the bombmaster to get landmines. Forget about em, cause you won't be using them. Talk to the boy near the bombshop to begin a karabom battle. Pick something where you attack first, this battle is rediculously easy if you got pommy before snapping a picture of louie. With the boy defeated, go west. ------- Plains | karabom02 ------------------------------------------ Follow the path, blow stuff up, collect power-ups, go west. Continue following the path, and go north. Clear out the area to power up pommy, and bomb the northeast wall to learn about some pine trees. Head back south and then go west. Use bombs to drop the trees, and follow the path until you go north. You may notice a stone temple in the middle of the river that you cant get to. That is normal. You will come back here later, I'll tell you when. Continue blowing down trees until you snake around and go east. Go up, right, bomb away the bushes, and head south. Go right, bomb bushes, go north. Walk past the sign, you will be shot by an arrow. Ceedran will pop out and challenge you. In my game I always block down down up to win, I don't know if it is the same way with everyone else. Use ceedran's new shield to get past the arrows and enter Beta town. ---------- Beta Town | ------------------------------------------ A man will shove you in his basement. Bomb your way north and collect the radar from the chest, then leave his house. Go into the gift shop and buy yourself a comic. Then head into the house north of the gift shop to learn about pushing blocks. Don't worry about the shop with the swords above it, you'll come back when you have 5 karabom. Head west out of town. --------- B.Valley | ------------------------------------------ Follow the path and kill the flowers, then go up the ladder and step on the switch. There's a bombable wall next to the ladder, but don't go in for now. Head back down and step on the newly accessible switch then continue on. Head south. Go down, step on a switch, another switch, and go down the new ladder. A-7 Kill all the snakes and go north. B-5 Dodge the arrows with Ceedran's shield and go north. C-5 Open the chest for the crystal, bomb a hole in the left wall, then go north. D-5 Kill the zombies that pop out and go east. D-6 Use Ceedran's shield to block the arrows, and go north. E-6 Get your new karabom, Elifan. Go back to C-5.(karabom03) C-5 Go east. C-6 Kill the snakes and push the top block down and the middle block down so you can get a Large Medicine. Go to D-5 D-5 Go west. D-4 Kill all the monsters, push the red block, and go north. E-4 Kill the monsters, push the red block, and go east. E-5 Dodge the spitter and go north. F-5 Kill all the hedgehogs and go west. F-4 Go east. (That was to complete your map.) F-5 Go north. G-5 Push the red block and go east. G-6 Push red down, blue down, yellow right, green down, go south. F-6 Go down the stairs and use SID to get P.Fangs. Backtrack to G-5 (karabom04) G-5 Push the green block and go west. G-4 Open the chest for a FireUp! Go back to G-5 G-5 Push the yellow block and go north. H-5 Kill the hedgehogs and snakes, then bomb the west wall, go west. H-4 Dodge the arrows and open the chest for silver boots! Backtrack to H-5. H-5 Go north. I-5 Equip P.Fangs and open the door, then go north. J-5 Fight MagnetBomber and go west. See monsters section for tips. J-4 Talk to the hologram of max to get the first medalian. --------- B.Valley | ------------------------------------------ Go north past the new entrance you made. -------- ToPlain | ------------------------------------------ Go down and left a bit, and enter the house. Go into the cellar to play a game. _ |_| _|_|_ |_|_|_| _|_|_|_|_ |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_| That is the symbol you have to make. You should have plenty of time to do it if you pause the game to look at the picture above every few seconds. Make sure you don't blow up anything important, and you will get Sharkun. (karabom05) Leave the house, go right a bit, and take the new path south into Gamma Town. ----------- Gamma Town | ------------------------------------------ Enter the upper left-most house and Sharkun will open a new path for you. Go into the path and follow it to Delta Town. ----------- Delta Town | ------------------------------------------ Find the giftshop and buy a comic book. Now we're going to go back a bit and collect some power-ups, so equip Pommy and warp to Alpha town. ----------- Alpha Town | ------------------------------------------ Go north into L.Forest --------- L.Forest | ------------------------------------------ Bomb the upper plant and take the hollow trunk to a new area. Bomb away the bushes and push the golden block. Enter the new stairs. The man inside will give you a heart! Exit the house and warp or walk back to Delta. (Walk if you want to power up some of your karabom in order to get the RC Bombs later.) ----------- Delta Town | ------------------------------------------ Talk to some townsfolk if you want some information on the area, then go out the north exit. --------- WetWoods | ------------------------------------------ Kill the frogs and in the upper right corner push the green block. Enter the stairs you find for yet another heart! Woohoo now we have 6! Go back through Delta Town and take the southwest exit. --------- S.Forest | ------------------------------------------ Kill the frogs and slimes, then take the upper west exit. Continue following the path until you come to a house surrounded by water, talk to the fisherman and get the RainDrop. Bring this back to the bomb master in Delta Town to get AquaBombs, which work underwater. Once you're done return to S.Forest, and take the middle south exit. Now go west. We'll call this area Underwater Point. When I say to return here, this is where you will go. The lady inside the house tells you about kaiman, your next karabom. Return to WetWoods north of Delta. --------- WetWoods | karabom07 ------------------------------------------ Go west. Kill the spearguys and go west again. Equip sharkun and head north through the new secret door. Push your way through the room and go north. Find the disinfectant in the cave then head back to where the spearguys were. Go up a bit and enter the left house. Talk to Lana to get Kaiman. Use Pommy and warp back to delta, then walk to the Underwater Point. Go to the left, equip Kaiman, and go down the ladder into the water. --------- BigOcean | karabom08 ------------------------------------------ Head west. Walk past the first spring and use the second one to jump to the right. Take the northeast exit, go east, and then head north. Go right, step on the switch, and go through the new passage. Allow the whale to eat you. When you land, talk and get TwinDrag to join you, then blast the three and head back underwater via the Underwater Point. --------- BigOcean | karabom24 ------------------------------------------ Go west again, walk past the first spring and jump right with the second, and whirlpool north off the screen. Go north again. Use the spring to go up, then use the other to go right. Head north, take a quick left, and talk to the fishes to get a fisherman's hook. then head up when the fish open and get MarinGon to join your party. The secret room behind him is a healing fairy, if you're low on life. Go back down and step on the green switch. A-6 Step on the switch in front of you, the top switch, the left switch, then head out the door to the west. A-5 Kill all the sardines and head north. B-5 Head north. The green buttons control the conveyor belts C-5 Murder the jellyfish and bomb the two red switches, north. D-5 Bomb all 5 switches so they are up, and bomb the secret left wall. Head left. D-4 Once you make it through to the chest, open it for the red crystal. Now you can see all the map! Head to E-5 E-5 Kill the disappearing skeletons and shellfish, head east. E-6 Get all the switches to be up, then bomb the north wall. Head into the new door. F-7 Don't worry about this room for now, you'll return shortly. Go to E-7. E-7 Woohoo a new karabom, P.Nucklz! Go to F-7. (karabom09) F-7 Kick a bomb and stop it before the soft block, then push the block below it and head to the chest. Silver armor! Return to E-5, you're done with this side of the base. E-5 Take the west path. E-4 Push the green blocks out of the way and kick a bomb to the red switch, then head west. E-3 Equip TwinDrag and place a bomb near the upper right switch to the left of the tube. Follow your newly opened path and place another bomb between the two pipes at the bottom. Put a bomb under the T pipe in the upper left of the room and kick it in, then wait for it to explode. Do the same thing but on the bottom T pipe, and head west. Phew! E-2 Make sure the conveyor is going fast (green button down), and set a bomb on the belt at the lower right exit, then run up and take the upper right way off the belt. Your bomb will snake around and hit the switch, allowing you to go south. D-2 Kill the jellyfish and sardines, bomb the east wall and go east. D-3 Look for the boxes with points and proceed very slowly through this room. It isn't hard if you keep your eyes open. Inside the chest is a large medicine...yay...Head to D-2 D-2 Go south. C-2 There's one spike thing to the left, hit the left arrow first, then hit the next arrow and go down the stairs for SID. Ok, everyone back to E-5. (karabom10) E-5 Head north. F-5 Kill the black monsters and kick a bomb at the red switch, go north. G-5 Kick a bomb up the pipe, then from right to left and go through the north exit. H-5 Bomb away the soft blocks, then press both green switches. Once the spikes are away head north. I-5 This room is fun! Kick bombs through the pipes until all 4 shellfish are dead, then go west. I-4 Learn to place bombs on the normal squares, wait a second or two, then kick them. Head west whenever you can. I-3 Half the blocks are spike ones, move slowly and open the chest for BombUp! Go back to E-5. E-5 East! E-6 East! E-7 Equip P.Sea, open the door, and move north for the boss! F-7 See Monsters section for boss strategy. Once PrettyBomber is dead, head west. F-6 Woohoo, another medalian! ----------- Delta Town | ------------------------------------------ Quickly bring the fish hook to the fisherman to get a large medicine. Now head back to Gamma Town, head out the southwest exit, and enter the battle arena. Use your 5 best karabom and choose a pattern where you attack first for the first two times, and then use a special first and an attack second on your last round. Once you win all 5 rounds you will get a transistor. Take this to bombmaster in Delta Town to get RC Bombs! Equip these and keep 'em equiped. Take the boat in Delta Town to the next area. ------ Jetty | (karabom11) ------------------------------------------ Use this area to get used to RC Bombs. Basically you stand far away and direct a bomb to an enemy, then follow it with the bomb until it explodes. Killing things has never been easier! Head up and follow the path until you can go east when you're ready. Keep walking east and you'll have to play a minigame. Just place bombs down on all three cannons in the beginning, then concentrate on whoever is left. You'll get ToughGuy, who lets you throw bombs! Head back west. Head west, and break your way through the snowmen and enemies, then go west yet again. Throw bombs across at the black monsters, and an avalanche will occur allowing you to pass. Leave north when you can. Keep going north past the sign, then turn east. Move east, and enter the town! ------------- Epsilon Town | ------------------------------------------ Talk to everyone in town for information on the area, and buy a comic book. Make sure you talk to the guy to the right of the gift shop so you can get Flour. Once you have that leave town and go right, bomb the red switch, and cross the moving platform when you can. East. Go north and be prepared for a puzzle. The blue snowman regenerate, and you CAN get stuck. If this happens warp back to epsilon and try again. I bomb the rightmost one when you enter the area, then find the path with two snowmen together and a lone snowman after that. Throw a bomb between the one you cant reach, and put one next to the one in front of you. When the bombs explode, charge through to the bridge! Head into the south house to get Bread, warp back to Epsilon Town. ------------- Epsilon Town | karabom12 ------------------------------------------ Trade your bread for the karabom egg. (what is this guy thinking?) Now we'll need to head to the hot springs to hatch the egg, so exit town and go west. Keep going west and then south, then go east when you see a sign. Now go east many many times, until you reach the hot springs. You'll get karabom P.Beast! Find the bridge north of Epsilon and cross it using P.Beast's flying ability. --------- F.Palace | karabom13 ------------------------------------------ Turn west after the bridge, and place a bomb when the moving platform is at the top of its run. Cross and go west, then go south. Go south again and bomb the soft rocks until you find an ice flower, then meet Pteradon. Now head all the way back to the set of stairs you passed in the beginning of this area, and take them up. E-3 Chase the shadows with RC Bombs, then head east. E-4 East. E-5 Scuttle Scuttle! E-6 Open the chest and go north. F-6 A new karabom, Dorako! (karabom14) Go to D-6 D-6 Make sure Dorako is set, push the block, go east. D-7 Murder the archers and continue east. D-8 Break the blocks, careful of the holes. Head north. E-8 Bomb the north wall and enter the new door. F-8 Push the green block and go west. F-7 Step on the green switch and throw a bomb at the red one to get the crystal! Ouch, a three level dungeon. Go to E-8. E-8 Throw a bomb on the red switch and go west. E-7 Take the stairs up to Floor 2. E-6 Throw bombs at the cardmen while they are still trapped, head west when you can. E-5 Scuttle scuttle scuttle! E-4 Bomb the south wall and go into the new door. D-4 Get your FireUp from the chest! Return to E-4. E-4 Throw a bomb on the north switch and rush through the open door. F-4 Throw a bomb onto the yellow switch and run into the west door as fast as you can. You'll just make it. F-3 Throw a bomb onto the lower switch from the bottom of the room and go west again. F-2 Throw bombs at the spear demons from afar, go south. E-2 Set a bomb on the north switch and head south. D-2 Start on the right and push your way to the middle, throw a bomb onto the switch, and go east. D-3 Walk around and head north. E-3 Set Sharkun and head up the invisible flight of stairs. E-4 Kill the monsters and continue east. E-5 Scuttle scuttle scuttle scuttle! E-6 Push the top block down and move north. F-6 Throw a bomb at the red switch in the bottom right so you can go east. F-7 Bomb the right switch first, then stand on the first patch of down spikes to bomb the second. Get your gold shoes! Head back north. F-6 Press the green switch and head down the stairs to fuse with SID. You get P.Dragon! Go to E-6. (karabom15) E-6 Push the bottom block and go south. D-6 Just stand in the top left corner and throw 3 bombs. Head east. D-7 Destroy monsters, east. D-8 Use P.Dragon to open the door. Before going in make sure you have RC Bombs and TwinDrag set. Be ready for an easy battle. E-8 Murder PlasmaBomber and go north. F-8 Yay, medal. ____________________________________________________________________ --------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. MONSTERS _____________________________________________________________________ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Here you will find a detailed listing of monsters and how to defeat them, as well as the 5 Bomber Bosses. - Blue Slime - Description: A blue blob. Attacks: Don't walk into it and it won't hurt you. Tactics: Find the direction it is traveling in, then place a bomb in front and behind it. - Fake Tree - Description: Looks like a real tree, but rustles. Attacks: Walks into you! Ahh! Tactics: Place a bomb in front of it and to the side. When the tree wakes up it will die almost instantly. - Balloon - Description: A red balloon. Attacks: Floats around and accidentally deals you damage. Tactics: Trap them like blue slime. - Black Monster - Description: Looks like a bear on a stick figure body. They do a little dance every once in a while. Attacks: This thing will make no effort to attack you. Slaughter it. Tactics: Place a bomb next to them, they will dance and explode. - Snake - Description: It's a snake. Attacks: The snake will charge at you or eat your bombs! Tactics: Place two bombs next to each other. The snake will eat the first one and get blown away by the second. - Hedgehog - Description: Think sonic, but grey. Attacks: The hedgehog will roll at you and slam into you. Tactics: Place a bomb between you and the hedgehog, then stand out of blasting distance. The hedgehog will try to roll towards you and blow himself up. Hedgehogs take two hits to kill. - Yellow Slime - Same as its blue counterpart but a bit faster. One bomb will still do the dirtywork on these suckers. - Frog - It's best to place two bombs down and step away. You'll eventually get them. Make sure they don't trap you in a corner, as they can jump over bomb blasts sometimes. - Spear Guy - Just place two bombs down and he'll walk into them. It's basically a slime that you can't get too close to, or you'll be stabbed. - Lobster - Place two bombs next to each other like with the frogs. - Merman - Just like the Spear Guys except they throw small daggers. Dodge them and use the two bomb technique. - Sardines - These shoot fire straight up. One bomb will finish them. - Jellyfish - Like zelda's jellyfish, these can electricute you up to 2 blocks away. Trap them and bomb them. - Disappearing Skeletons - These are tricky because they disappear and take two hits. Trap them in an area and don't let them out. - Shellfish - One bomb will take care of these, just make sure they don't go underground to avoid the blast. - Snowman - They will throw a snowball at you, so keep your distance and chase them with an RC Bomb. - Ninjas - These guys remind me of Link. They will shoot a hookshot at you if you get too close, and they can flip over your bombs. Chase them with an RC Bomb, you may have to do it twice. - MAGNET BOMBER - To defeat magnet bomber in his dragon form, place two bombs down and get out of the way. MagnetBomber will run into the bombs himself a lot. If you hit his head, it will detach from the body and they will blow up. Avoid their line of fire. If you hit his entire body with one bomb he will take massive damage. His attacks include leaving sections of his body to explode, and spitting fire. This can detonate your bombs early so watch out! After 3 hits MagnetBomber will be defeated. - PRETTY BOMBER - Wow, this bomber is easy! Place a bomb down and another one two spots away, so when PrettyBomber gets down there the bombs will explode and deal her damage! Then do it again to make two sides weaken. Whatever side is the fastest way to the core, place bombs in it's path and it will walk right into them. Four times and this bomber's down for the count. If you find yourself having a problem bombing the boss, use TwinDrag to increase your fire range by one in each direction. Just don't hit yourself! - PLASMA BOMBER - You'll fight this battle on three squares. Equip RC Bombs and TwinDragon, then run to the bottom left corner of the room. Stand here and chase Plasma Bomber with your RC Bombs and eventually you'll hit him when he lands. After being hit, some eggs will fall. You may have to move 1 or 2 squares to avoid the blasts from the eggs. Once 4 or 5 hits are delt to Plasma Bomber, he'll be down for the count. _____________________________________________________________________ --------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. POWER-UP LOCATIONS: _____________________________________________________________________ --------------------------------------------------------------------- Bombs, Armor, and Power-Ups, oh my! All armor and power-ups are found within the 5 bomber bases. Bombs are either needed to progress in the game, or you'll pick up special ones through games and other side quests that come in handy but aren't necessary. -------------- Bomb Upgrades | ------------------------------------------ Landmine - Snap a picture of Louie in L.Forest and return it to the man in Alpha town to get the Sensor. RC Bombs - Win 5 straight battles in the Karabom league to get the transistor needed for these. Aqua Bombs - Talk to the fisherman near the BigOcean to get the RainDrop. Use this to make Aqua Bombs. Hold Bombs - --------------- Armor Upgrades | ------------------------------------------ Silver Boots - Located in hidden room H-4, in Bomber Base 1. Silver Armor - Located in hidden room F-7, in Bomber Base 2. Gold Boots - Located in hidden room E-7 (F3), in Bomber Base 3. Gold Armor - Bomber Base 4, see Walkthrough Section. ---------- Power-Ups | ------------------------------------------ FireUp - Located in room G-4 in Bomber Base 1. Located in room D-4 (F2) in Bomber Base 3. Located in Bomber Base 5, see Walkthrough Section. BombUp - Located in room I-3 in Bomber Base 2. Now hit Ctrl+F and type in this word, to be whisked away to the walkthrough section detailing how to find the Karabom.
