You have only one type of weapon to combat against the dinosaurs loose all over the island. Pause game =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ Basic Stuff =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ This game is pretty simple and not very complicated when it comes to health and all sorts of stuff. Like what I said earlier, unlike the first Jurassic Park game for GameGear, you only have one weapon. But that is all you are going to need. The levels are a lot shorter than the first one and the objective of it is quite simple. Just go through the level and battle a boss. Simple as that. In this game, you have unlimited continues unlike the first Jurassic Park. You don't have the first aid kit unlike the first one. You can say that this game is much easier than it's original. Below are the colors that your vest turns when you get hit and how many more times you can get hit before you die. The colors below don't pertain to the Compy. If the Compy gets hit once, the game is over. Green: 100% health - 5 hits before dying Blue: 80% health - 4 hits before dying Red: 60% health - 3 hits before dying Yellow: 40% health - 2 hits before dying White: 20% health - 1 more hit before dying Scattered all over some levels, you will find vests lying around. If you see a green vest, regardless of your health, you will be put to 100%. If you see a red vest, you will be put to 60% health if you have a yellow or white vest. If you have a red, blue, or green vest, and you take a red vest, it will not bring your health down to 60%. It will remain where it is. =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ Walkthrough =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ This walkthrough covers which Area I did first and which one last. It doesn't have to be done in any particular order, but this is the order that I like to do it on. Just scroll down and look for the Area that you wish to view. After each Area, there is a boss. After the walkthrough of an Area, I will explain on how to beat each boss. Will you survive? Baryonx Area ______________ Keep heading right. There will be a Compy running around. Shoot it or just avoid it. Jump to the second ledge and to the third. As you walk, be careful of the dinosaur that pops from the canopy to attack you. Shoot it and get the vest to the right. Climb the rope to the left, and keep climbing until you see yourself. Head right until you bump into something and you stop. While holding right, jump and you should end up in a ledge. Keep heading right until you fall. As you head down, you will see a dinosaur that is underground. You can leave it alone or you can kill it. If you choose to kill it, jump to where it is, wait for it to emerge, then shoot it once it does before it attacks you. Don't head down to the water. It may be safe the first few steps, but once you approach it with logs protruding out of the surface, you will drown and you will drain health. Jump to the ledge at the top right of the digging dinosaur. Jump to the ledge that you see in the right and jump towards the rope. Climb it and you will see a green vest underneath you. Grab it if you need it. Kill the dinosaur above you to get to the next ledge. Jump to the next ledge and proceed down. You will see a dinosaur swimming in the water. Jump on its head and use it as a platform to get to the next ledge. If you miss and fall in the water, you will immediately die. You will see another one of the swimming dinosaurs. Use this one as a platform also, but this one leaps right after you jump on its head. Wait for it to leap at its highest point, then jump right. Proceed right and you will see another swimming dinosaur. Don't jump on his head or you will drain health. Wait for it to turn around, jump into the water, then shoot it. Once dead, proceed right and jump to the ledge. You will see another water hazard and a ledge to the right. The water can kill you so try not to fall into it. Jump into the ledge and to the next one. Kill the digging dinosaur and proceed right to finish the level. *!!Boss Fight!!* Pachycephalosaurus __________________ Jump to the tree branches above you and wait for the Pachy to come to you. Right before he rams the tree that you are in, jump off behind him, and shoot him. You have to shoot him in the back because you can't hit him in the front. If you don't jump before the Pachy hits the tree, you will be damaged. Hit him three times to defeat him. Mamenchisaurus Area ___________________ Go right and shoot the flying dinosaur above you. Keep going right until you see three platforms. Jump in the middle one and jump to the left. Jump to the nest and ust it as a "spring" to jump to the left ledge. Go left and you will see another nest to jump to. Once you jump up, you cannot go back down. Once up, proceed right. Watch carefully at the rustling leaves in front of you. It is a dinosaur stalking you. In order to hit it, duck and fire your weapon when you see the leaves coming near you. Keep going right until you see a nest. Jump at the nest, and to the platform to the left. A big head will pop out in front of you once you approach the edge. Wait near the edge of the platform for the head. Once the head appears, jump at it, and jump immediately to the platform to the left of it. Proceed left and you will see a green vest. Jump up into the platform and wait for the head to appear again. Jump at the head, then jump at the ledge to the right. You will see a rope. Jump to the rope and it will start to travel right. Remain at the top of it because a dinosaur will pop out in the middle of the path. If you fall, it will be your doom. When it stops, you will see a dinosaur throwing eggs at you. Kill it and fall down. Avoid the head that comes out from the right. Don't jump at it because it will damage you. Proceed left and you will see a dinosaur with its head popping out of the ground. Kill it before you advance. Jump to the left and keep going left to get a green vest. Go down and you will see another bouncy nest for you to jump on. Jump on it and go right to the other nest. Jump right into the ledge and there will be another dino that throws eggs at you. Kill it and jump up. Go right to finish the level. *!!Boss Fight!!* Mamenchisaurus ______________ You have to hit the head of the Mamenchisaurus to damage it. Avoid the legs or you will be stomped on. You can't hit the legs because they are immune to your darts. Make sure that when you are trying to hit the head, the legs don't block the head or you won't be able to hit it. Hit it 10 times to beat it. Brachiosaurus Area __________________ In this area, there are quicksand instead of water. If you stay too long on top of the sand, you will sink and you will be drained of one health. Jump at the quicksand and then quickly jump to the right, on the ledge. Proceed forward and you will see a dinosaur walking among the sand. Shoot it and use it as a step to get to the next ledge. Keep going right and you will see two flying dinos fly above you. Ignore them or kill them and proceed right. You don't have to shoot that dino in front of you. Jump to the platform at the top right and keep going right. You will see two flying dinos perched in the ground. Shoot them and proceed right. You will see a red vest in the sand. Jump to get it and jump back quickly. Go back to where you came and jump to the ledge. You will see the same two flying dinos perched. Shoot them so you can jump to the ledge at the farthest left. Keep heading up and you will see a Brachiosaurus. Ignore it and keep heading right. As you go right, rocks will start to fall. Avoid them and keep going right. You will see a red vest underneath the spiny dinosaur. Get it if your health was taken away because of the falling rocks. Go to the ledge where the spiny dinosaur is. You have to jump over it to proceed. You can shoot it, or just leap over it. Jump to the next ledge and you will see ywo flying dinos again. Shoot them and go right. Leap down and you will see a boulder protruding out of the wall. Shoot it to collapse the wall for you to jump to. Proceed right to finish the level. *!!Boss Fight!!* Carnotaurus ___________ This boss battle is the easiest of them all; that is, if you don't mess up on your very first action. As the fight begins, you will see a switch above you. Jump to that switch and wait for the power to go off. When the power does go off press up to switch it back again. After it is on, jump to the right open clearing and you will find the boss. Shoot at him repeadtedly in order to beat him. Keep shooting and approaching at the same time. If you don't do this and the light turns off before you can defeat him, you have to switch it back on. You can't damage him if the power is off. Hit him 8 times to defeat him. Stampede ________ I don't have much to say in this level. All I can say to you is that you run like the damn blazes. Be careful of the spikes and any obstacle in the way. You can get out of this level without a health drained if you know when to jump at the right time. At some point of the level, you will start to encounter Stegosauruses as your obstacle. In order to get passed them, slide underneath by pressing the B button while running. You know that the level is over when the Triceratops that is chasing you gets stuck in a white barracade. Velociraptor Area _________________ This is the only level that you can play as your Compy friend. You have your pounce attack as a way of defending yourself. Unlike your human counterpart, you have only one health. One hit and the game is over. When the level begins, head right on the path. You will encounter another Compy, but it is no way your friend. Pounce on it or just jump over it. You will see a nest above you once you keep heading right. Just ignore it and keep proceeding right. You will see a wall with a cave above it. Jump at the wall to climb it. To your left, you will see a pole with a long-necked dinosaur climbing up and down from it. Wait for it to go up and then jump towards that pole. Once you do cling to it, IMMEDIATELY climb up as quickly as possible, so you won't get bitten. Once climbing up to the highes point, jump to the ledge on the right. Head right and go down. Once down in the cave, keep going right and you will see a dinosaur pop out of a hole. Ignore it and climb up the ledge above it. Once you do, you will see a log to your right. Jump to the log and then to the next log. Keep jumping right to each log until you see a wall. Scale the wall and head to your right. The path under you will suddenly collapse and you will fall. Head to your right and you will see a ledge. Climb it and jump to your left. Scale the wall and you will see another ledge to your right. Jump to the ledge and head right. Go inside the door to finish the level. *!!Boss Fight!!* Dilophosaurus _____________ Once the battle starts, you will not be able to see the Dilophosaurus. Look carefully at the background and you will see two yellow eyes. Stay put until the eyes disappear. The second they do, move away and the Dilo will try to bite you. When his head pops out, that is your time to attack him. He will retreat once you do, will appear above you, and start to spit at you. Dodge the spit and repeat everything above in order to hit him again. Hit him 5 times to beat him. Site B Area ___________ This is by far the longest level in the game. It is pretty much simple to go through because all you have to keep going is left or right to find the elevator. Once the level begins, head left. Watch your back though because a Raptor will pop up behind you. Kill it because there is no way to avoid it. They just keep coming so kill one and run away. Go inside the door after heading left. Keep going left, and at the second grate, a Raptor will pop out of it. Kill it to proceed. Go inside the door. Once in the next room, you will see a bridge. There are two ways to pass this room. One is going across the bridge and another is by falling down. The bridge will collapse once you get close to the middle. Before it collapses, jump left and you will be safe. A grate will shake and a Raptor will pop out of it again. Kill it and grab the red vest if you were damaged. Head left to towards the door. Now if you fell when the bridge was collapsing, just keep heading left and up the ledges to get out of there. Keep heading right and you will see a skeleton of a dinosaur start to collapse. There will be a Raptor coming to attack you. Kill it and proceed right. Ignore the switch that you see and go inside the door. Head left and the second grating will unveil another surprise for you. You will see a door that is blocking your way. Press the switch to open the door. Head left and the grating will collapse again. Go inside the door. Keep heading left and you will see the same bridge that you saw before. If you get across the bridge, you will see a red vest. The door cannot be opened though so you have no choice, but to head down. Go left and you will see a switch. Press the switch to open the door. The door won't open immediately though so you have to defend yourself from the incoming Raptors before the door opens. Head left and take the elevator up. Head right and go inside the door. The second you go left, you will hear the roar of the T-Rex. The lights will also darken, but that won't affect you in any way. Keep going left and take the elevator up. Keep heading right and you will see the T-Res spying on you on the window. Open the door and keep heading right. The ceiling will start to crumble which means that the T-Rex will try to attack you from the ceiling. You will have to dodge him at the last minute in order to avoid him. You will see a switch, but it will take some time to open. You have to keep dodging the bites of the Rex until the door opens. Once the door opens take the red vest and press the switch. This one also takes time to open to keep dodging. Once you pass through that door, the Rex will stop attacking you. Go right and take the elevator down to finish the level. *!!Boss Fight!!* Tyrannosaurus Rex _________________ This fight really isn't a fight. It's more like a RUN-FOR-YOUR-FREAKING-LIFE fight. No matter how many times you hit him, he merely flinches. You just have to keep going forward in order to avoid him. You cannot stay in one place and shoot him to death. The stage is constantly moving to the right, and if you stay in one place too long, you will die. There are some explosive barrels that will get in your way. If you manage to see them ahead of time, you can shoot them. Once the level stops moving, you will have to defend yourself against little baby T-Rexes that are heading your way. This is the time that you can defeat the Rex. You have to shoot him 5 times in order to beat him. But you also have to shoot the incoming baby Rexes as well. The Getaway ___________ Oh man. The Rex is really pissed off. In this level, you have to maneuver your car to prevent the Rex from biting you. For some apparent reason, the Rex has grown to massive proportions. Along the way, you will see signs alerting you of a potential hazard coming, a ramp that you can jump off of, and a turn. You must avoid the rock hazard as much as possible. If you get hit by a rock, you will slip, and the Rex can bite you. The rock hazard is shown by an exclamation point. Sometimes there is a ramp that you can jump off of to gain some extra distance. The ramp is shown by an arrow pointing up. Lastly, the turns. The signs warn you ahead of time when to start turning. The signs are either an arrow pointing left, or an arrow pointing right. If you get bitten twice, the game is over. Once you reach the end safely, the Rex meets an untimely end. Congratulations! You have survived the island! Rest well as a helicopter picks you up.
