It might be another long time after this but anyway here is a new update to my guide! Don't be shocked. I hope this made it better then it already was. I have several reasons to hope so and they're the changes I made in this release. I worked hard on correcting the grammar and making the instructions more understandable. I added a lot of information to various sections (especially the new sections). I also added three new sections changing the entire numbering that this guide had. The new sections are Replay Zone (so you could understand things that are different when you replay the game), History (a history of previous and future Sonic games and there plot summaries), and a section entitled Differences (that tells you what has changed from the Dreamcast version of this game). I made it so that sections devoted to one character start with the word CHARACTER. The 130 Emblem Reward section was renamed SECRET CHARACTER: Metal Sonic. The Chao section was not expanded upon by much this time around. It's going to be the center-piece of my next update. I promise. The version before this was 2.1. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ 1.0 Getting Started //////////////////////// Well let me welcome you to the first FAQ/Walkthrough that I am writing on this large of a scale all alone. I wrote one for Pokémon Crystal (work in progress actually ;) ) and as you can see I'm writing one for Sonic Adventure DX. This guide currently serves the purpose of helping you complete the game in a timely and convenient manner. This guide will skip most of the basics since the instruction manual cover those. This is to bring you an in-depth look of what you should be doing to help you when you're stuck and such. Alright lets begin. Oh yeah! Don't forget you can feel free to e-mail me at faqmike@yahoo.com! One more thing and then we begin, I promise. I recommend that you use Internet Explorer to open this file (it keeps you from making a silly mistake like highlighting and deleting it and it looks nice and clean), but what you use is up to you. However, if you are using a word processor to view this, and yes it's possible(click on file and then hit save). You are permitted to do this (in fact encouraged as it saves bandwidth for websites) but you can't distribute it (go to 16.0 for more information on that). Use a Courier New 10 point font to preserve the original format and any possible ASCI drawing I have in here. And now we begin! ******************** BASIC CONTROLS ******************** Individual character controls are located in their sections. WALK AND RUN - Control Stick To walk, press the control stick lightly in the direction you wish to walk. Continue pressing the control stick in the same direction to run. To reduce speed quickly, press in a different direction. JUMP - A Button Hold the A button longer to jump higher. The length of a jump depends on the character too. PANNING THE CAMERA - L/R Buttons Use the L/R Buttons to pan the camera in a full 360 degree direction when in Free Camera mode (this option is disable in Auto Camera). NOTE: In some situations, such as when your character is near a wall or in an enclosed area, panning may not be possible. CARRYING ITEMS - B or X Button To pick up items such as bombs, Chao eggs or relics, stand in front of the item and press the B or X Button. NOTE: Actions that are common to all characters can still occur while holding an item, actions listed as a characters special action cannot be preformed while carrying an item. SHAKING ITEMS - B or X Button and Control Stick Keep holding the B or X button and twirl the control stick or shake an item (Chao consider this cuddling and like it). THROWING ITEMS - B or X Button while moving If you have an item you will throw it (Chao do not like this at all). SETTING ITEMS DOWN - B or X Button while stationary This places the item right in front of you, provided you're stationary and not moving. -------------------\ 2.0 Differences -------------------/ If you played this game on the Dreamcast, you might want to know what has changed since then. This section here sums up the crucial differences. --- THE PRO CUBE --- GRAPHICS - This game looks way better on the Gamecube then it did on the Dreamcast. This is especially true with the characters and cinematic sequences in this game. SOUND - Some people say it sounds better but I'm not a big sound person. MISSIONS - The missions have been added. Yes all 60 of them. GAME GEAR GAMES - The games that you're rewarded at certain points in the progress of the games were not available on the Dreamcast version. METAL SONIC - He was not available in the Dreamcast version, in fact if you get all the emblems you received nothing but bragging rights. CHAO - The Chao system is way better in this version. Just check out the Chao Section of this guide to see how. CINEMA SKIPS - Press start and skip a cinema, this is great! --- THE PRO DREAMCAST --- It's hard to believe that the Dreamcast version might have something going for it, well it does. INTERNET - The official website for Sonic Adventure 1 is not accessible with the Gamecube version. That means the Christmas Tree in Station Square, Tremble Park, Y2K Rings, Alternate Twinkle Park course and the opening day event are not available any where in this game. It's only one negative but it does make happy to own both versions (which you should only do if you're hard core and can stand this game for years). Note: The Twinkle Circuit tracks have been unlocked by using Action Replay, maybe the other events will be too. NIGHT TIME - When you play E-102 Gamma's game after beating the story mode you wind up in the night time. I always find things are cooler looking at night. It's a personnal taste, but hey, can't at least one character have it at night now? --- The Neutral --- EGG VIPER - The suicide move no longer hits a piece on the edge, making the boss a lot easier. This depends on your tastes. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ 3.0 CHARACTER: Sonic ///////////////////////// Sonic is the only character available in the start but that will change. His main aspects are speed but don't worry about that unlike the Genesis Sonic games there are no time limits. ********************* CONTROLS: SONIC ********************* SPIN ATTACK - B Button Position Sonic near an enemy and jump so that as he lands, he strikes the enemy with a furious spin attack in mid-jump (not very useful). HOMING ATTACK - A Button in Mid-Jump Use this attack to have Sonic automatically zero in and strike a nearby enemy, item capsule or spring. If no enemies are within range, use this move to have Sonic preform a "Jump Dash." The longer you press A the further a "Jump Dash" will go. SPIN DASH - B or X Button At any point when Sonic is on the ground, press and hold the B or X Button to start Sonic spinning in place. When you release the button he will dash off in a burst of supersonic speed. Use the control stick to aim and steer a Spin Dash. HOLD - B or X Button (REQUIRES LIGHT SPEED SHOES UPGRADE) When you are charging a Spin Dash, Sonic begins colelcting enery. When he is fully charged he can preform one of the next two actions. NOTE: Sonic charges faster with the CHAOS RING UPGRADE. LIGHT SPEED ATTACK - Release (REQUIRES THE ANCIENT LIGHT UPGRADE) Release a charge near a field of enemies to have Sonic use an immpossible to control barrage of homing attacks. LIGHT SPEED DASH - Release (REQUIRES LIGHT SPEED SHOES UPGRADE) Release a charge near a row of rings. Sonic will now magically move through these rings. This allows him to dash over bottomless pits. ************** THE GAME ************** The game begins with Sonic fighting a menacing new foe, Chaos 0. BOSS FIGHT: CHAOS 0 Chaos is pretty easy currently, grab rings and dodge his moves. After 2 hits he jumps onto a streetlight and releases a stretch arm attack on you. Run around to avoid and wait until he returns to ground level to attack again. After defeating Chaos 0, a cinema happens and soon you are in the first level, Emerald Coast. STAGE 1: EMERALD COAST This is a pretty simple level. The main concerns should be to take your time and make sure you don't fall of the platform. There are no real threats to your safety here. Listen to the HINT ORBS for instructions on what to do. The badnicks here will throw bombs at you or try to ram into you, but they have no actual defense against a well placed homing attack. The part with the whale is simple if you simply keep pressing forward. YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS TAILS ADVENTURE FIELD: GO TO TAIL'S WORKSHOP So you rescued Tails! Now you have to go to his workshop, so its off to the Mystic Ruins. Leave the hotel and go to the train station. Take a train. In the Mystic Ruins leave the area of the train station and head towards the big hill. Take the stairs up to meet up with Tails. BOSS FIGHT: EGG HORNET Eggman and his trusty hovercraft will do battle here. When Eggman's Egg Hornet is flying around you cannot damage it. You must wait until it drills to the ground. At this point it is temporarily stuck and a simple jump will get a good 1/3rd of his health out. Just do this 3 times and you should win. ADVENTURE FIELD: OPEN UP WINDY VALLEY As you can see a stone has appeared outside of the front door of Tails' Workshop. Pick it up and bring it to the rightful place. This is located in a cave near the edge of the pit, with the waterfall. Place the stone (key) in the slot. The wind should move up and you should be able to play Windy Valley. STAGE 2: WINDY VALLEY This level is simple and straightforward. All you need to do is progress carefully. Unless you have become experienced try to take the main route. Things get tricky and are generally unrewarding. When you by those wind drifts press forward or you will fall off. Soon you will wind up with a tornado heading towards you. This is OK. You need to be sucked by the tornado. Now you're inside the tornado. All you need to do is slowly travel in an upward direction. Remember to keep jumping on the pads. You should be out of it no time. The next area is a winding maze. Simply breeze right past it (hardly any badnicks) to get to the goal. Remember to keep pressing forward in the wind drifts or you will fall off. Lastly remember to keep your speed in loops. ADVENTURE FIELD: LIGHT SPEED SHOES Return to Station Square. Head to the side of the station with the book shop, rather than the hotel. Go to the second area. Fall through the manhole and progress to the area where you receive the light speed shoes. Head back to the hotel. OPTIONAL: CHAOS RING I highly advise that at the moment, you go and receive this item, it will be of great assistance to you. In the hotel take the stairs up and see those 2 switches. One opens the door on the other side, and the other creates a line of rings, charge up a light speed dash, while keeping the rings up. Open the door and release the dash. You should be inside the other room. Obtain the Chaos Ring. ADVENTURE FIELD: CASINO AREA So go down to the Casino Area now, it is located to the left of the hotel receptionist (not the elevators those are for the Chao Garden and Knuckles's game). To open the casino area you will need to press the yellow switch on its top. To do so press the switch that generates rings and light dash up! STAGE 3: CASINOPOLIS In here the goal is to store at least 400 rings in the storage room and obtain the Chaos Emerald. There are different methods you can use to obtain the emerald. Night's Pinball (Cards and Pinball): On a pinball field you try and obtain a hand of 5 cards, the values of which you obtain rings for. There is a second board which has loads of cards on it and a few secret paths that take you to places in the Nights: Into Dreams game (Sega Saturn only). The values of the cards kind of like poker. You are graded based on how many cards you have (1 pair, 2 pair, 3 of a kind etc...), the better it is the more you will probably obtain. Slots and Pinball: Play the slots, if you obtain something good you can't obtain anything for a while. Good would be when 3 things line up, or go diagonally. Beware the Eggman, it sucks out 100 rings or so (but not your life). The gutter: Unless you obtain over 100 rings on the board (from a combined 3 balls) you will wind up in the gutter. The gutter has loads of rings for you to obtain but a few traps to try and suck them from you. It's straightforward. In the wind rooms generally the most rings can be obtained from the highest route but those are pretty difficult to get to. When you leave the gutter you end up in the shower room. Storage Room: The idea here is that you place your rings in and the machine stores them in this room. The more rings the higher you can reach. You need 400 rings to get to the ledge and finish this level. ADVENTURE FIELD: GET TO ICE CAP As you saw in the cinema Cream flew off from the alleyway by Casinopolis, go and obtain the Ice Stone. With this you can enter Casinopolis. A quick way to the train station (your going to the Mystic Ruins) is to continue heading straight from the alleyway and board the train (make sure your holding the Ice Stone). Now you're in Mystic ruins, there will be clip shown in which a bunch of rocks fall and form a cave. Go into the cave, while holding the Ice Key. Go through the wind drift and to the door of ice. Place the key in the right hole. Now go past the door, past the lake and jump onto the ladder. STAGE 4: ICE CAP Ice Cap is a simple level. In the first area your goal is simply progress forward. In the area with the hill side, just take the spring up the ledge. Soon you will end up in an a new area. This area is basically a cave. Progress forward. On the icicles your goal is to jump when your back is facing them. Once you take the jumping portion a giant icicle falls. Walk across and into the bridge. Next up is snow boarding! In the beginning avoid the avalanche of snow and then just keep going forward till the end of the level. ADVENTURE FIELD: TO THE LAKE Head towards the lake in the Mystic Ruins and you should meet up with a familiar face. Knuckles! CHARACTER BATTLE: KNUCKLES This is an easy battle, all you need to do is spin dash into him 3 times, he can intercept homing attacks. After this a new cinema occurs and a battle begins BOSS FIGHT: CHAOS 4 In this battle Chaos resembles a giant fish. You should try and jump from lily pad to lily pad because staying in the water too long can be lethal. When Chaos comes out of the water, that's your chance to attack. Homing Attack him four times to do him in. YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS KNUCKLES ADVENTURE FIELD: BACK TO TAILS' WORKSHOP Simply go to Tails's Workshop again. SUB LEVEL: SKY CHASE ACT 1 You and Tails are flying on your little plane. A trick is to hold onto B to auto-target and get a massive amount of points! But right now you have to simply survive to the end of the level. ADVENTURE FIELD: AMY ROSE Go to the Casino Area and meet up with Amy. Next go to the Twinkle Park area. And then go inside Twinkle Park (not circuit). YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS AMY STAGE 5: TWINKLE PARK In the beginning, you have to knock off a driver off the carts to obtain the cart. I suggest you homing attack a few of them so you don't have to worry about slow beginnings. Next start pressing A to accelerate and try and keep your rings. This part is rather simple. Soon a roller coaster will bring you to the next area. Over here you simply need to continue going, strike down pins with a Sonic Ball! After this you end up in a tricky part with lots of platforms, falling off some ensures death while others will send you back down :< Take it slow and you shouldn't have much trouble. ADVENTURE FIELD: SPEED HIGHWAY After beating Twinkle Park with little explanation you have to go to Speed Highway. To get there you need to pick up the employee card on the grass in middle of the street outside of the train station and go to building next to Twinkle Park (lucky Sonic, always finds what he needs). Then take an elevator and go onwards. STAGE 6: SPEED HIGHWAY In the beginning portion of this level, simply keep going, if you lose speed you might fall off. Take caution however as falling off can kill Sonic. Just keep going. The next part your running down a building. Avoid the helicopters and make it to the lobby. From there go onwards. The final part is a little city. Just go looking for the fountain and the capsule at the end with it. ADVENTURE FIELD: AMY IS CAPTURED The robot stalking Amy has caught her. As Sonic you need to save her. Go to the area with Ice Cap but keep going forward until you reach the monkey in a cage. Go a bit forward to find an item. This is the Light Speed Attack (works like the Light Speed Dash) use it to defeat the monkey. STAGE 7: RED MOUNTAIN The beginning area is confusing but straightforward (it takes experience to get past it). Simply keep progressing. The goal is to follow the path. Remember to take the pulleys. The next area brings you inside a cave. This area has more lava but again is simply a case of following the correct path. The end shouldn't be too far away. SUB LEVEL: SKY CHASE ACT 2 Yeah its time to go back on the airplane! Keep shooting and staying alive. The end has you attacking the cannon. Attack when the cannon is open but dodge the blast (takes a nasty bite out of your health). ADVENTURE FIELD: SKY DECK ENTRANCE Simply go onward to the entrance for Sky Deck (not hard to get there). STAGE 8: SKY DECK The first area blasts you out of a cannon but keeps going onward. Just stick to the path. The end of this area brings you to a little maze. The goal is to get to highest area and reach the cannon. If you destroy it with a rocket you go to the next area. Over here you simply need to progress (avoiding the enemies of course) there is a lot rocket fire and the winds pick up times. Soon you'll make it to plane lift off. Go fast as all hell to reach the other side. IF you do it right a giant cannon should be spinning around. You need to hit the blaster (there are 4 rockets to better intercept it with). The next area brings you to a new part because of the ships change in directions constantly you need to get to the right. This will soon become a wall and you will be holding on to the gates. Progress upwards and then through the top path. Stroll along the path until a switch comes by, hit it and ship will normalize position. This makes nabbing the capsule easier. CHARACTER BATTLE: E-102 GAMMA Gamma's easy, just whack him 3 times with a homing attack! Shouldn't be long till he is defeated. ADVENTURE FIELD: CHANGE THE SHAPE OF THE EGG CARRIER Go forward towards the part you can't reach (with the giant blue ring) and change the shape. Jumping through the door does this. Light dashing upwards. Hopping on the chair and hitting the switch. The vessel changes shape and you can reach the blue circle platform. On this you will see Big, Eggman and Chaos. BOSS FIGHT: CHAOS 6 This isn't all that hard. Simply wait until Eggman drops one of his bombs. Hit it with a homing attack and throw it into Chaos mouth. Charge up a light speed attack a good distance away and unleash it on a frozen Chaos to do double damage. YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS BIG STAGE 9: LOST WORLD Whatever your goal here is unknown, just beat it. Head towards it and get in. The level is straightforward but tricky. Portions have you running fast to avoid fireballs. The next area will have you hopping on a snake and pressing switches to open doors and change the water level. Open switches before flooding them :). Then head through the area to the next tricky part, the mirrors. Have the mirrors reflect the light to light your way. This makes it easier to see. The next portion has an Indiana Jones ball chase, you could carefully let the ball role and escape it :) or you could run fast to the end. The next area brings you to a small room and then a big room. Over here, turn right and hop on a switch until the wall pieces light up. Walk up them. Carefully stand next to the dropping spike area. Hop on it and jump onto this ledge. Activate the switch and light dash across. Head forward until you reach the center of the pyramid. FLASHBACK: Emerald Shrine Head to the front of the Emerald Shrine. ADVENTURE FIELD: INTO THE FINAL EGG! You'll see Eggman's new base. Enter it with care. Then hop in and go to the area with 6 light up switches. You want to turn all of them on. This opens the door for the final level. STAGE 10: FINAL EGG The first area is straightforward. The next portion to look out for are some strange conveyer belts with spikes. Try and stick to the top level and progress. It gets straightforward again. There will be a large room, try and stick to the route ahead (avoid the goodies). After long you should back in the large room. This time go forward again. Just keep going. In the areas where Sonic is falling down try and stick to mid right. Just keep going (fans will boost you in the air). Keep going. The next part is simple. Keep going forward! Soon you should be in the end with a simple light dash. If the level isn't beaten for some reason head to the center of it (don't jump) and walk around till it is. BOSS FIGHT: EGG VIPER This guy is hard. He enjoys sending blasts at you, which you must avoid. First hit is a simple homing attack (he's close enough). Second and third hit he sends out the Viper's tail. Homing attack up all of them (don't light speed attack). The last three have you jumping on his spike circles and homing attacking him as you return. Beware his last 2 hits he smashes the platforms placing a time limit. When he's all beaten head to a piece on the edge and stay still. His kamikaze move should miss! You just finished Sonic's story! \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ 4.0 CHARACTER: Tails ///////////////////////// ********************* CONTROLS: TAILS ********************* PROPELLER FLIGHT - Pressing the A Button in mid-jump Tails begins flying! NOTE: You can fly longer with the JET ANKLET upgrade. FLY UP - Pressing and holding the A Button Tails flies upward. FALL - Release A or press the B/X button Tails will fall down rapidly. TAILS ATTACK - B or X Button Press the B or X Button while stopped or when walking to have Tails attack nearby enemies with a 360 degree spin. RAPID TAILS ATTACK - Press and Hold the B or X Button (REQUIRES THE RHYTHM BADGE UPGRADE) Tails will continue to spin his tails. This is very useful on the last boss. ************** THE GAME ************** This begins with Sonic, having rescued you and you need to head to your workshop, but wait a moment, lets get the Jet Anklet :) OPTIONAL: JET ANKLET Enter the sewers (between Twinkle Park and the Speed Highway Building). Go to the end where the gate is. Fly up through the hole. An item is over there, the Jet Anklet (this helps a lot). Now go to the train Station. ADVENTURE FIELD: WORKSHOP Take the train to the Mystic Ruins and go to Tail's workshop. Located in the same place as in Sonic's game. STAGE 1: WINDY VALLEY This is the end part of Sonic's levels. All you need to do is skip the twisting parts by flying past them and landing on the other side to ensure your victory. Fly when you can. Take those Speed Boosting Rings whenever you can and be glad the Jet Anklet Let's you fly longer :). ADVENTURE FIELD: CASINOPOLIS GO THERE After getting past Windy Valley its time to head Casinopolis. Take the train to Station Square. From here go down the stairs (below the train to the left of the front door. Head past it and go outside the casino. Open the door by flying up and whacking the yellow switch. Enter the level. STAGE 2: CASINOPOLIS The gutter: This is the only part where Tails goes. The gutter has loads of rings for you to obtain but a few traps to try and suck them from you. It's straightforward. In the wind rooms generally the most rings can be obtained from the highest route but those are pretty difficult to get to. Getting to them flawlessly will ensure that you beat Sonic to the end of the level. Now you're in Mystic ruins, see those rocks that just fell go to that cave. Go thought the wind drift and to the door of ice. Place the key in the right hole. Now go past the door, past the lake and jump onto the ladder. Mark To Double Check this area. STAGE 3: ICE CAP Snow boarding, that's all. Just outboard Sonic. Get to the end quicker. There is one small shortcut, if you see it take it. Also try and jump on the ramps because those get you through it quicker. ADVENTURE FIELD: TO THE LAKE Head towards the lake in the Mystic Ruins and you should meet up with a familiar face. Knuckles! CHARACTER BATTLE: KNUCKLES This is an easy battle, all you need to do is Tail Spin him or jump on him (he can dodge those). BOSS FIGHT: CHAOS 4 In this battle Chaos resembles a giant fish. You should try and jump from lily pad to lily pad because staying in the water too long can be lethal. When Chaos comes out of the water, that's your chance to attack. Jump on him four times to do him in. YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS KNUCKLES ADVENTURE FIELD: BACK TO TAILS' WORKSHOP Simply go to Tails's Workshop again. SUB LEVEL: SKY CHASE ACT 1 You and Sonic are flying on your little plane. A trick is to hold onto B to auto-target and get a massive amount of points! But right now you have to simply survive to the end of the level. ADVENTURE FIELD: The Jungle The goal here is to find the cave that leads to Sand Hill. Froggy has the Chaos Emerald after all! So fly up and knock the switch. You'll end up opening the door to Sand Hill. SUB LEVEL: SAND HILL This is kind of like Ice Cap except here to get score you have to get past those red things quickly. You get X times 10 points for each one, X being the number you can see on the upper corner of the screen. X marks a tally of how many consecutive markers you've passed. X disappears after about 3 seconds so be quick! In the end of the level is Froggy! FLASHBACK: YEAH ONE OF THESE :( Head to your left and look for the Warrior Feather. This little upgrade lets you constantly Tail Attack (useful soon). YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS BIG SUB LEVEL: SKY CHASE ACT 2 Yeah its time to go back on the airplane! STAGE 4: SKY DECK In the beginning you blast out of a cannon but keep going onward. Just stick to the path. The end of this area brings you to a little maze. The goal is to get to highest area and reach the capsule. Flying is key to success here! CHARACTER BATTLE: E-102 GAMMA Gamma's easy, just tail spin around and remember to stop to let the cinema role. YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS E-102 GAMMA YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS AMY ADVENTURE FIELD: GET TO SPEED HIGHWAY! You can't let Eggman get to the missile first, can you? STAGE 5: SPEED HIGHWAY This is the final level for Tails. Eggman takes a shortcut in the beginning so why can't we? Follow Eggman to the Lightning Shield. Now fly up! Up and far, you have to reach the pad in a distance (needs Jet Anklet). Now after landing go forward and fly to the next pad. Turn left and go through the speed ring. Just keep going forward from here on and if you don't die you should have plenty of time :). BOSS FIGHT: EGG WALKER This is Eggman's boss against Tails. To bring him down wait until he performs his kick attack. Avoid it and whack the legs that are glowing. Each hits has another leg but if you travel with the Tail Spin, it's really no problem. When Eggman falls simply whack him in the tip. Four hits does him in and wins you Tails' game! \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ 5.0 CHARACTER: Knuckles //////////////////////////// ************************ CONTROLS: KNUCKLES ************************ GLIDING JUMP - Press and hold the A Button in mid-jump Use the Control stick to maneuver Knuckles as he glides. It is safe to attack enemies if you head at them fist first. If any other part of his body is hit he starts falling. You can revive the glide by pressing the A Button while falling. CLIMBING - Glide into a wall Use the control stick to move and A button to jump off the wall. PUNCH ATTACK - B or X Button Press the B or X to execute a punch. Execute two more punches in rapid succession to have Knuckles preform a more rapid, "Dash Punch." DIGGING - Press the B or X button and A Button Simulataneously (REQUIRES THE SHOVEL CLAW UPGRADE). Position Knuckles on a grassy or dirt covered area and press the dig button combination. He digs and might uncover something hidden in the ground. ************** THE GAME ************** ADVENTURE FIELD: GO TO SPEED HIGHWAY So you begin in Station Square, head to the area in which Sonic had his fight with Chaos 0 and bust any barriers with your punch. Continue onward, to go through the door and into Speed Highway STAGE 1: SPEED HIGHWAY This is Sonic's last segment (Tails can go here, check out the tricks section) but Knuckles can take full advantage of it. He can climb ledges and find some of the many secrets in this level. He can also punch open containers to reveal some of the possibly hidden secrets. ADVENTURE FIELD: TO CASINOPOLIS Head to Casinopolis, you can take the shortcut from the train station back stairs or the hotel. Either way climb up the path of rings and glide into the Yellow switch to get access. STAGE 2: CASINOPOLIS This is the beginning of Sonic's area, expanded. Knuckles can go higher up in his pursuit of Emeralds. He can destroy the Big Sonic Statue (thanks to a crack in its leg :) ). Some Emeralds are risky (under the Lions Paw) but this isn't that hard. ADVENTURE FIELD: THE INCREDIBLY LONG AND DIFFICULT JOURNEY Knuckles has to go all the way to the hotel! You can spot Sonic and Tails snoozing outside the Casino. In the hotel a cut scene occurs. BOSS FIGHT: CHAOS 2 Chaos 2 is different from the other forms Chaos. He might bounce around as a blob, spread out throughout the ground or charge his tentacle. The only time you have to hit him is after Chaos unleashes his tentacle. ADVENTURE FIELD: MYSTIC RUINS AWAIT! Head to the Mystic Ruins and go to the shack by the cart to the jungle. Sonic is there. CHARACTER BATTLE: SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Sonic is a simple foe. Just hit him 3 times, best chance to hit is when he's stationary, smack him hard with a punch! BOSS FIGHT: CHAOS 4 In this battle Chaos resembles a giant fish. You should try and jump from lily pad to lily pad because staying in the water too long can be lethal. When Chaos comes out of the water, that's your chance to attack. Jump/Glide Into/Punch him four times to do him in. ADVENTURE FIELD: SHOVEL CLAWS Go to the cave where the Chao Garden is, its in the valley formed by the wall and Tails' workshop. Again you can see Sonic and Tails (not snoozing this time). Go and obtain the Shovel Claws. Then dig up the monkey destruction switch. Use it by placing below the monkey. Pick it up and take it to the Angel Islands site (the cave near the train station, you need to go up the wind). Then go to the monkey blocking the Red Mountain entrance and use it on him. STAGE 3: RED MOUNTAIN This stage is the beginning part of Sonic's level. This is a pretty big level for Knuckles so be ready to take some time. Because you just got the Shovel Claws expect it to require digging. ADVENTURE FIELD: THE TWO STONE STATUES Go to the area you had the fight with Sonic in and take the cart. You now need 2 statues. The first is located right by the cliff. Take this to the pyramid, on the second level (not the ground) there should be a slot. Place it in. Press START and go to MAP. Look for a room near the Sand Hill entrance that is in the shape of a circle. Go there and dig up in the digging area the other statue. Bring it to the pyramid. OPTIONAL: MAXIMUM HEAT KNUCKLES ATTACK When your on the ledge of the Jungle keep gliding and climbing the wall to the left, you should come across a ledge with an item. Pick it up now, it has its uses later. STAGE 4: LOST WORLD This is the part of Sonic's level after the Boulder chase but you Cannot go to the area Sonic light dashes too. Emerald shards might be in basically the usual parts of the level (walls, digging, enemies, plain sight etc...). FLASH BACK: TO THE EMERALD SHRINE Go back to the ancient Emerald Shrine to finish this cut scene. A cut scene returns you to the Emerald Shrine and you see Gamma. YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS E-102 GAMMA ADVENTURE FIELD: TO THE EGG CARRIER Go back to the Jungle and go to that city on the edge, find its entrance and a cut scene will occur. ADVENTURE FIELD: HEAD TO SKY DECK Get to the Egg Carrier pool and keep going, the door is open for Knuckles and Sky Deck is behind the opened door. STAGE 5: SKY DECK This is the last part of Sonic's mission. The ship won't tilt on its own. You have to tilt the switch to change the ship's direction. When you tilt the ship some doors will be opened (the ones that are now elevated) and the trolleys might move on the track revealing a dirt portion you can dig on. ADVENTURE FIELD: THAT BLUE CIRCLE OF FINAL BATTLEDOM Go to the Blue Circle on the Egg Carrier (where Sonic battled Chaos 6). Other than Tails and Sonic all characters have their final boss fight here so be ready. BOSS FIGHT: CHAOS 6 This isn't all that hard. Simply look for the bombs. Hit one with a punch or jump and throw it into Chaos mouth. Charge up a Maximum Heat Knuckles Attack (remember I said it had uses) a good distance away and unleash it on a frozen Chaos to do double damage. Try to avoid the broken areas of the battlefield, those make you get injured ;). \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ 6.0 CHARACTER: Amy /////////////////////// ******************* CONTROLS: AMY ******************* HAMMER ATTACK - B or X Button Amy will hit enemies with her PIKO PIKO Hammer. This can be done to stun Zero for a while. HAMMER JUMP - B or X Button while running Amy will be propelled hig into the area. JUMP ATTACK - B or X Button in Mid-Jump Amy swings her hammer while jumping. SPIN HAMMER ATTACK - B OR X Button and the Control Stick (REQUIRES THE WARRIOR FEATHER UPGRADE) Press and hold the B Button while rotating the control stick to preform this attack. You should have Amy stop this before she becomes dizzy and is unable to walk straight for a little while. ************** THE GAME ************** ADVENTURE FIELD: GO TO TWINKLE PARK Bring Amy to Twinkle Park where she will meet up with Sonic again... From there enter the level. STAGE 1: TWINKLE PARK This level begins by the big pool, or where Sonic's massive shortcut takes you. Amy has to flip 3 switches and travel through the mirror rooms. This is all happening while the robot Zero is chasing her. There are loads of Spike Balls here so take care when traveling by this level. In one area some of the floor is trap doors so be careful! ADVENTURE FIELD: GO TO THE NEXT ROOM Amy's game is mainly cinema's so this a short part. Go to the next room. In it is a board. Play Hedgehog Hammer. YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS E-102 GAMMA SUB LEVEL: HEDGEHOG HAMMER This is a game of whack a mole from the center, the goal is to beat Eggman's score of 2000 points (don't do it by much you'll regret it). Eggman lose you 200 points, Sonic gains 100 and Super Sonic gains 500 points. You get the Warrior Feather by beating this. After Hot Shelter if you come back here, you can get a better hammer. ADVENTURE FIELD: HOT SHELTER The room next to the area you came out of go there. This is Hot Shelter. STAGE 2: HOT SHELTER A very long level. Cranks will have to be moved. Boxes must go in the right area. Amy has what Sonic would probably have had, the entire level. Zero is chasing you throughout the entire time so be careful. This level is long but actually pretty easy. ADVENTURE FIELD: FINAL EGG Go to Mystic Ruins. Go to the Jungle. Go to the area of Eggman's City. Enter it. Go to the 6 switches. Illuminate all 6 to open up Final Egg. STAGE 3: FINAL EGG This is a shorter version of Sonic's level. Or it so till you make it to the elevator. Press the switch and I don't suggest hiding (Zero once found me). Just avoid him till the elevator comes down and take it. Soon another annoying part comes in where the path splits into 5, one door (random it changes every time) is the right one the others are duds. The duds contain a hovering badnick. Its frustrating to land the dud because they Find the right one and continue. Soon there is a part with an oil can and Amy can't jump that high. Either move the oil can or hurry things up and hammer jump up. The balloon comes shortly after this grab and be done with it. FLASHBACK: I THINK ITS HERE... If memory serves me correct Amy has her flashback here. All it is getting to Tikal and thanking god for the start button! ADVENTURE FIELD: TO THE EGG CARRIER Leave the Jungle and go to the main area. Go to the train station but go in that little area below it. Take the raft to the Egg Carrier. ADVENTURE FIELD: THE PLACE OF FINAL BATTLE-DOM Go to the blue circle thing-majing and get ready for a final battle. BOSS FIGHT: ZERO Zero needs 3 hits. He can only be hit after touching the electric fence. To do so hammer him to it. Avoid hammering Zero more than once because he gets immune temporarily if you do so. After touching the fence. Hammer him. 3 hits does Zero in and ends this incredibly long and tedious game of Amy's. LOL... \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ 7.0 Big the Cat //////////////////// ******************* CONTROLS: BIG ******************* Big can lift objects that are much heavier then what other characters can lift (Ice bergs and Cars are good examples). CASTING - B or X Button Use this when Big is facing the water to throw his lure. While holding the B or X Button you will see a target point. This can be moved with the Control Stick. LURE ATTACK - B or X Button Press B or X rapidly to try and hit something that is nearby. ----------FISHING MODE-------------------------------------------- A Button - Reel in quickly B or X Button - Reel in slowly Control Stick - Tug the Rod Rug the rod to entice a fish/frog near the rod. When they bite press in a downward direction to lure them in. ************** THE GAME ************** OPTIONAL: LURE Go to the Sewer behind Speed Highway, entrance next to Twinkle Park. The lure is over there. ADVENTURE FIELD: GET TO TWINKLE PARK Near the Hamburger store, there is a car over a manhole. Lift up the car and go through the sewer. This takes you to Twinkle Park (which was closed). Now enter Twinkle Park. STAGE 1: TWINKLE PARK Whack the enemies here if they worry you but Froggy is located in the corner nearest the entrance. Simply fish him out, for this mission. ADVENTURE FIELD: THE ICE STONE The Ice Stone is dropped and Cream flies away! Take the Ice Stone and go to Ice Cap. Ice Cap's entrance is where it has always been. Be sure to pick up the life belt. STAGE 2: ICE CAP See the rock in the beginning, smash it on the weak ice or simply have Big jump on it. Froggy is located in that hole. If you explore you'll find another area where you can obtain a LURE UPGRADE inside of the DINOSAUR SKELETON. To get to take the route underwater by Froggy. ADVENTURE FIELD: TO EMERALD COAST Go to the pool area of the Hotel and enter Emerald Coast. STAGE 3: EMERALD COAST Go to the pillar near the beginning. Look nearby and look for Froggy. He should be there. Fish him out. THERE IS NO FLASHBACK HERE, I WAS WRONG!!! ADVENTURE FIELD: EGG CARRIER On the Egg Carrier you need to open the Hot Shelter door by jumping on it or you can go to the prison cell and obtain the lure upgrade (big fugitive that lure...). STAGE 4: HOT SHELTER Just go forward until the drainage room. Over there flip the switch. Froggy will now be released. Look for him and fish him out. Avoid the other fish, they weigh a lot here and are hard to catch. FLASHBACK: GET TO TIKAL As I have been corrected, the flashback is over here, in order to complete it you have to walk to Tikal, who is conveniently located straight ahead of you. ADVENTURE FIELD: MONORAIL Take the monorail. Jump on the switch to get outside. Head to the Blue Ring of final battleness... BOSS FIGHT: CHAOS 6 Aim your lure at him and try to connect with Froggy. That's all. Just whack Froggy with the fishing rod. FINISHED OR IS IT??? OPTIONAL: Below Big's Bed is his Super Rod! Just lift up his bed and take it out. Also the final lure upgrade is in the jungle. It's in the circular area without the digging symbol (not near Sand Hill). Just look for it on the map. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ 8.0 E-102 Gamma //////////////////// ************************** CONTROLS: E-102 GAMMA ************************** LASER GUN - B or X Button Hold the B or X Button and move the laser line to sight of a nearby enemy/item. The enemies will be locked-on. HOMING MISSLE LAUNCH - Release the B or X Button after locking-on. This should destroy the objects to which you have locked-on. Bosses take several hits to fall. ROLLING MODE - Control Stick When Gamma reaches full speed, he turns his legs to wheels and rolls around. HOVERING - Press A in mid-jump (REQUIRES THE JET BOOSTER UPGRADE) This acts just like Knuckles' glide. You can still lock on to enemies when you're hovering. ************** THE GAME ************** STAGE 1: FINAL EGG This is too simple to really describe. It's meant to get to be familiar with the patterns and stuff... Incidentally this is the amount of time per combo 1 Enemy 1 Second 2 Enemies 3 Seconds 3 Enemies 6 Seconds 4 Enemies 9 Seconds 5 Enemies 15 Seconds 6 Enemies 30 Seconds 7 enemies 35 seconds More than 6 30 + 5 more for each enemy after 6. BOSS FIGHT: E-101 BETA Beta will fire his laser and I suggest you rapid fire him. Four hits will take down Beta. Just be careful and avoid his attacks onto you. ADVENTURE FIELD: GO TO EMERALD COAST Go to the hotel pool and blast down those doors. STAGE 2: EMERALD COAST Linear. Simply keep going forward. Froggy is in the end of the level on the patch of green grass surrounded by monkey badnicks. He is in a green shield like freed animals. FLASHBACK: NO THERE WILL BE MORE... Just keep going onward with Tikal, that's all. ADVENTURE FIELD: GET TO AMY Go to the door to Hot Shelter. You accidentally go to the wrong one, go to the right one (the one on the left). ADVENTURE FIELD: JET PACK Go get the Jet Pack. Take the stairs up and turn right. Look for a door, it should be there. Now go onto the elevated platform and go up. CHARACTER BATTLE: SONIC Target onto him 3 times and let the cinema role. ADVENTURE FIELD: WIND STONE After a long cinema, E-102 Gamma arrives in the Mystic Ruins Adventure field, obtain the Wind Stone (front of Tails' Workshop again) and place it in the usual spot. STAGE 3: WINDY VALLEY This is straightforward the pre-tornado part of Sonic's level. There are few enemies but those caterpillar enemies can be targeted up to 10 times for 45 extra seconds. E-103 is about as hard as E-101. ADVENTURE FIELD: GO TO RED MOUNTAIN Bring E-102 to the Red Mountain area. You know past those fallen rocks and into the level itself. Target the monkey to destroy it. STAGE 4: RED MOUNTAIN This part takes place in the cave. Again its straight-forward so you should have no problems in beating it. There are more enemies here and the lave traps can and probably will get frustrating. E-104 is about as hard as E-101. ADVENTURE FIELD: TO HOT SHELTER Go back to the main area of the Mystic ruins and go to the room below the train station. From there go to the Egg Carrier via, raft. From this raft head inside via the yellow switch and into the Hot Shelter level. OPTIONAL: UPGRADE To upgrade your cannon you can go to the room on the opposite side as the one where you got your Jet Booster, this lets you get the Machine Gun. The machine gun improves targeting. STAGE 5: HOT SHELTER This level can be split into 3 linear areas. The first is pretty linear (although it loops up and you can fall down). It ends when you blast a switch and an arm grabs you up. At this point you are placed on a train ride (no other Hot Shelter characters go there). There will be two trains and cautious transferring will get you to the end. In the end you flip a switch (or blast to stop a train). At that point the train will begin stopping and you can progress. The next area for you is a giant fall, there are loads of Kiki, target onto the whole group while slowing your fall for loads of time) and some nice items as you fall. When you land there are 8 Kiki. Blast them in one group and you will receive loads of time. Take the speed boosters and go onward to E-105. E-105 has a different attack scheme. He is a central cannon. To defeat him blast away all those little cannons. ADVENTURE FIELD: FINAL CIRCLE AGAIN! Head to the blue circle, where you will meet the final boss. E-101... BOSS FIGHT: E-101 MK II E-101 has several attacks. One includes a barrage of missiles. Another involves him moving at you in ferocious speeds. When he stops from that there is your best chance to attack him. Soon he begins his next attack. The camera zooms out and E-101 unleashes some kind of huge bomb. The less health he has the stronger it is. After 4 hits E-101 gives in and dies. That's it or so it would seem... ////////////////////////////////////// 9.0 SECRET CHARACTER: Super Sonic \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ SUPER SONIC IS OPENED UP ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE BEATEN THE OTHER 6 CHARACTERS STORY MODE! WHICH MEANS EVERYONE ELSE MUST HAVE 100% CLEARED. SUPER SONIC DOES NOT EVEN SHOW UP AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER UNTIL THEN. OPTIONAL: NEW DETAILS I suggest that if you enjoyed listening to what people said around you that you talk to them now, any Adventure Field because this is the best opportunity. They say new things because this takes place later than completed Adventure mode for any character. Usually, they will resolve any dilemmas that they may have had before this. ADVENTURE FIELD: THE ATTACK VICTIMS Head from below the tree to Angel Island. Look around and you should see Knuckles and Eggman unconscious. Approach them. FLASH BACK: YES THEY ANNOY THE HECK OUT OF ME TOO... This one is simple. It goes in 3 different tries but each time Tikal goes further away. When you have seen it all the game resumes. ADVENTURE FIELD: GET TO THE TORNADO Head of to the main area and take the cart to the Jungle. Brace yourself for a looooong cinema. BOSS FIGHT: PERFECT CHAOS Perfect Chaos is a nice boss. It seems to have a mere 3 HP but it will respawn once for a total of 6. Against Perfect Chaos you play as Super Sonic. Super Sonic slowly drains your characters rings from 50 to 0. If Super Sonic's rings reach 0 he becomes Sonic who will die upon touching the water. In order to attack Perfect Chaos, Super Sonic must run into him at high enough speeds to pop out from Chaos' mouth. At first few obstacle will appear but as the battle keeps going, Perfect Chaos will throw up more defenses forcing you to maze out Super Sonic's path so he doesn't lose speed. Now you're done with main game but there is really so much more to do. Chao, Game Gear and the Emblem chase! How about those!

10.0 Replay Zone
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>/

So you beat the game and want to know, what now? This section is
here to address those issues.

If you want to experience the story mode again, for the most part
you're out of luck. The only replayable game is that of Super
Sonic. The rest of them, there are no special story modes for you
to try.

The game is in daytime forever now. I know that the Mystic Ruins
Chao garden looks really cool at night but everyone has it in day
this time around (on the Dreamcast Gamma had it at night).

Those issues aside there are things to consider doing at this
point.

TWINKLE CIRCUIT - All characters can go to it. Even from the
Adventure Mode. Knuckles, Tails and E-102 Gamma need to find the
Kart Pass. This is located in a patch of grass next to the
entrance for Sonic (and Tails') Speed Highway. Pick this up and
take it to the kart area. You cannot go to Twinkle Park but you
can use the Karts.
Requirements: Completed Super Sonic's story.

HIDDEN ROUTES - You may have noticed routes that you cannot access
in the regular run through the game. These have probably become
available to you through the use of your new upgrades. I don't
think there is anything jaw-dropping that can happen now but it is
worth noting.

THE EMBLEMS AND MISSIONS! - Well these are pretty obvious, if you
want you can try to get complete your collection of these.
