Intro I wrote this FAQ because Kohryu is one of my favorite characters (besides Bakuryu/ Kenji) and Kohryu got the popular vote on the GameFAQs message board. This will be my second FAQ I have ever written, so yet again, bear with me. Well, anyway, Kohryu is an awesome character, and a very good one for scoring ring-outs. So read the FAQ and tell me what you think of it. Oh, and another thing, don't e-mail me about my theory with Bakuryu and Uriko and Uranus, and so on and so forth. I usually get flamed for them, and someone almost always proves them wrong. So, go on and read your heart out. ************************************************************ II Character story Kohryu doesn't have much of a story behind him, which explains why he doesn't have an ending. Here is Kohryu's story, according to BRADYGAMES(R). A manufacturing department in TYRON still operates despite the company's collapse. As an experiment, members of this department combined liquid human tissue with robot circuitry. The project failed and the robot escaped from them. Now the robot has begun to attack beast-men as if he has a will of his own. ************************************************************ III Legend This section is to help translate my controls/moves section. So here goes nothing. F= Forward (I might use > too.) B= Backwards (I might use < too.) [Note: forwards and backwards are reversed when facing to the left, so if I said F+B you would press <, which is backwards (B+X) while facing right. (Confusing huh?)] U= up (I might use ^ too.) D= down (I might use \/ too.) [Note: jump, crouch, away, and forward are all the same as up, down, left, right in order.] Duck (press \/, \/) FD = forward-down (the direction between forward and down) BD = Back-down (the direction between back and down) BU = Back-up (the direction between back and up) FU = forward-up (the direction between forward and up) [Note: you will almost never see the second form of a control, but I will keep them there in case I use them and you don't know what I'm talking about.] P= punch (b button) K= kick (a button) X= beast form/ attack (x button) BL= block (Y button) « = Back step (press < <) » = Dash (press > >) HB =Hyper beast (press Z button) Qcf = quarter circle forward (press \/, _\, > {or, as many people know it, down, down-forward, forward}) Qcb = quarter circle back (press \/, /_, < {or as many people know it, down, down-backward, backward}) [FB] = do the attack while facing backwards [OB] = do the attack while facing the opponent's back + = Press at the same time (P+K) [P] = There is a pause in this point in the move And I think that's about it. E-mail me if I missed anything. -I'm so confused! And with good reason too... Bloody Roar combos and moves are very complicated, so it's kinda hard to describe them in a very simple sentence. F+X, X, X, X, X, F+X, X, X, X, X, F+X, X, X, X, X, F+X, X, X, X, X, Qcf+P Use four F+X, X, X, X, X combos to launch an opponent into the air. After the fourth one the opponent will sink very low to the ground. Tactics- This is the section where I tell you how to be effective with Kohryu, in case you were wondering... ;] - Kohryu is the king of ring outs. Use Double Poisonous claw and tornado to launch opponents at the back wall. As soon as they get up, repeat the same tactic to make the walls weaker. Eventually, the wall will break, and they will go flying out for a quick, ring-out victory. - Using smoke spiral kick (Qcb+K), can give you several advantages. Pressing any direction will modify its effects, my favorite happens to be the ^ modification. It makes you perform a throw on the enemy, and he/ she can't do a thing about it!!! - Whenever you have the chance to, use mesmerisim (U, D+P) to freeze opponents in mid-air. Use it carefully though; it has long recovery time. - Use reverse punch (U+P) to land behind an opponent and do a quick throw from behind. - Use inferno (Qcf+X) to punish opponents that like to play keep-away. - If you miss hitting your opponent with inferno (Qcf+X) you can still pull off another attack before your opponent can attack you! Using mesmerisim is a good way to suprise your opponents. ******************************************************************* V.
