I like to get all the items in my games, complete all the sidequests, select all the right responses, get perfect stats... But 100-hour RPGs like this game scare me. It's absolutely dreadful to realize 80 hours into a game that you missed some unique item in the first area! And sadly, there are all too many possibilities for something like this to happen to you in Baten Kaitos. But not with this guide =) More specifically, this walkthrough gets you to the end of the game with: * all missable Magnus, including all unique copies * all sidequests completed * all treasures collected * initial base stats for all characters With that you can achieve 100% completion. This guide doesn't go into the specifics of aging every Magnus or performing every SP combo - there are already FAQs available for that. The main purpose of this guide is to ensure that by the time you reach the final save point, you didn't miss anything that could prevent you from reaching that 100% completion. How you go about finishing up your save file is up to you. When it comes to character stats, this game is a bit problematic. The issue is that your stat growth is random within a given interval, and it is not known what exactly the mechanics are behind this. It is easy to verify that your stat gains are better when you level up 10 Level-Ups at a time, but the random factor is still there. As a result, the max stats are not known, and therefore the next best thing is to have the minimum stats. That still leaves you with the option of leveling up in the future if you decide to. This is why this guide also covers the low level challenge. Finally, this guide is spoiler-free (unless you count the names of the characters and locations), so you can get everything done the first time you play the game. And with that, off we go! ____________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ T A B L E O F C O N T E N T S ____________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ 1 Tips Before Getting Started . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2 Walkthrough . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . This includes only the treasures you pick up - it does not include Quest Magnus (most are replenishable), battle spoils from bosses (they are fixed), or rewards from Constellation Magnus (you can exchange them whenever). All these items are mentioned in text, however. * The guide does not make a distinction between missable and not - you will simply be getting everything along the way. However, a list of the missable Magnus, along with their maximum copies, is available in the appendix. * The Spirit Numbers that appear on your Magnus are randomly generated when you receive the card. If you want a particular combination of Spirit Numbers, simply reset the game and try again. * However, keep in mind that the set of possible numbers that can appear in each corner is dependent on the identity of the card. For example, [AQUA TRUTH] cards always have a number from 1 to 8 in the upper left corner, an odd number in the upper right, an even one in the lower left, and a number from 1 to 0 in the lower right. Check the Baten Kaitos wikia (http://batenkaitos.wikia.com) for detailed information on each card. * With regards to a "perfect" inventory, you will need to make your own decisions on what that means. You may also want to consider the Spirit Numbers on your cards, though this quickly becomes very tedious because the odds of getting cards with exactly the numbers you want are low. * Getting a perfect photo of each enemy is not part of the goals. One, it's not possible to hold a photo of each enemy because some unique ones appear in the same battle. Two, it's not possible to get a perfect photo of each enemy (e.g. Nunkirantula with Kalas). Three, your final inventory will be clogged enough as it is. And finally four, the Magnus are registered in the Gathering with the perfect image regardless of your actual photo quality. * Magnus are only added to your Gathering if it appears on-screen. That means you should be careful when aging unique series of Magnus like the Auras, because if you let them age without looking into your inventory, you will "skip" the intermediate stages. If you have a [PROPHET'S NOTEBOOK], you will be notified of Magnus transformations whenever you open the menu. * It is not a coincidence that I don't mention Classing Up characters later in the game. The reason is that it's not necessary, and a smaller deck means you have an easier time getting the cards you need and don't need to farm to fill up larger decks with quality cards. But if you feel like farming for extra cards, then by all means Class Up, you'll have stronger combos. Just don't dilute your decks with weaker Magnus or Pass cards. * I don't go into battle basics like how damage is calculated, how combos work, etc. Please consult the relevant in-depth FAQs or that. * Most importantly: I unfortunately cannot guarantee that this guide is in fact 100% complete and 100% error-free. It is in your interest to also explore on your own, speak to everyone, etc. in addition to the instructions given in this guide. Perhaps you will find something no one else has, or find an error in the text. Please contact me in either case so that I can make the necessary changes. _____________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ W A L K T H R O U G H _____________________________________________________________________________ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ============================================================================= PART I: SADAL SUUD ============================================================================= _____________________________________________________________________________ CEBALRAI (s01) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ [] Shish Kebab (S) [] Shish Kebab (M) [] Fire Burst I [] Dark Flare I 1. Enter the next house and grab the [RED AND BLUE PENCIL] from the desk, then push the bookshelf to the right to unblock a strange secret passage. 4. Pick up a [CALM HELMET] and a [RAY OF TRUTH] from the two chests, then go back to the square and enter that third house through the front door. 5. You'll find a [VOICE II] in the cabinet with the vases, and a [FADING NOTEBOOK] in the cabinet on the far left. Exit once you've stolen everything. 6. Note that there is a soldier asking for something to drink here. You can give him different drinks, but as far as I know, he never gives you any- -thing in return. That said, his reactions do change - he was quite fond of the [MOUNTAIN APPLE WINE], and not too happy with the [STAGNANT WATER]. 7. Anyway, head through the gate for another scene. Choose "Sounds good to me" when prompted. 8. Go back to the square and use the blue flower to exchange Constellation Magnus and save the game! [08/50] [CYGNUS] > [SHISH KEBAB (M)] 9. You don't need any special stealth to reach the boat. _____________________________________________________________________________ CASTLE ELNATH (s11) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ [] Infinity Mask [] Dark Sword [] Dark Flare II [] Butterfly [] Light Flare II [] Fire Aura I [] Dark Yell I [] Flash Armor [] Shadow Suit [] Chronos Aura I [] Fading Notebook [] Magical Anklet [] Light Aura I [] Dark Aura I [] Water Aura I [] Light Yell I [] Wind Aura I [] Wheat Crackers [] Cypress Creel 1. Start by picking up the [INFINITY MASK] at the left end of the dock, then enter the castle. 2. Talk to the soldier to start the mission, then take the [DARK SWORD] from the chest on the left. 3. Go down the stairs, and approach the battling knights - dispatch 1 Knight to win and receive a [BUTTERFLY] in return. 4. Examine the statues on this landing to find a [DARK FLARE II] (Diadem Foot Soldier) and a [LIGHT FLARE II] (Diadem Foot Sergeant), then continue down the stairs. 5. Keep going down and turn right to head to the next set of stairs - dispatch 1 Apprentice Knight and 1 Squire to win the battle and get [FIRE AURA I]. 6. IGNORE everything else in this area for now and head down the stairs. At the bottom you will fight a battle against 3 Imperial Elite - this is the toughest battle here, so don't bother with getting a photo yet unless the opportunity presents itself naturally. 7. After the battle, continue down to the ground floor, where you will find a [FLASH ARMOR] and a [SHADOW SUIT] on behind the left and right stairs. 8. Save your game, then return upstairs and fight the 2 Imperial Elite - this is your second and final chance to get a photo of this enemy! 9. After the battle, make sure the photo is registered in your Gathering, and go back to the ground floor to save. 10. Return upstairs again and fight the Imperial Blackhelm to the left of the staircase - this is your ONE AND ONLY CHANCE to get a photo of this enemy. 11. Examine the "Arrogance" painting on this landing to find a [DARK YELL I], then save your game again. 12. Go to the room with the wounded soldiers and recruit a Knight, an Appr- -entice, and a Squire, then go upstairs and enter the room on the left. 13. Dispatch 1 Knight to win the battle and get the [CHRONOS AURA I]. There is a [FADING NOTEBOOK] on the table with the pots, and a [MAGICAL ANKLET] in the chest below the left window. Equip it. 14. Return downstairs, get another Knight, and continue downstairs to fight a battle at the double doors - dispatch a Senior Knight to win and receive [LIGHT AURA I]. 15. Go back again and get another Senior Knight, then go to the battle at the lower right of the ground floor - dispatch a Senior Knight and a Squire to win and get [DARK AURA I]. 16. Run back up and this time head up the right set of stairs - dispatch 1 Knight and 1 Apprentice to win the battle in the next area and get [WATER AURA I]. Examine the "Metropolis" painting to find a [LIGHT YELL I]. 17. Return yet again to get a full set of soldiers, then continue onward to the room to the right of the "Metropolis" painting - dispatch all your forces to win and receive [WIND AURA I]. 18. SAVE YOUR GAME, then return to the same room and climb up through the window. First thing to do is clear the rubble on both sides of the main staircase. On the left, you'll need to push some rubble to the back, and some to the front. On the right landing, all you need to do is transform the rubble into [PEBBLE] Magnus, and drop it from your inventory. 2. Once both tasks are completed, talk to the soldier near the entrance to the dock to receive [TEMPEST SHIELD], [HYDRA], and [GLASS EARRINGS]. Equip the earrings. 3. Now leave the castle and head to Sheliak. You'll see a Knight running around the place - give him some [STAGNANT WATER] (available in Nashira) to get a [SHADOW CORNET] in return. 4. Enter the building at the town entrance. It turns out this is the mayor's office, and inside you'll find a [SAVINGS BOOK] in the cabinet behind the receptionist, and another [BUTTERFLY] weapon in a chest in the office. 5. Outside this building is a woman trying to wash graffiti off of a lamppost. You'll need to give her some [SALTY WATER], which you can get by waiting for a [CLOUD] to condense. She gives you a [FLASH ARMOR] as thanks. 6. Now is a good time to get the [TRIANGULUM] Constellation from the Albireo in Cloud Passage. You shouldn't have any trouble with the enemies there now that Lyude is in the party. 7. You might want to take the opportunity to get some SP Combos out of the way at this point while also getting some good Magnus for upcoming battles. You can easily get the following SP combos now: 001: Sun-dried Wine = Deluxe Sweet Wine + Light Flare I 023: Cheese Fondue = Deluxe Sweet Wine + Cheese 025: Green Mold = Sun-dried Wine + Cheese 030: Pretty Flower = Flower Bud + Light Flare I 032: Root-rotten Flower = Pretty Flower + Aqua Burst I 033: Dead Flower = Root-rotten Flower + Aqua Burst I 034: Dead Flower = Pretty Flower + Dark Flare I 035: Pretty Flowers = Pretty Flower x 4 037: Dead Flowers = Dead Flower x 4 048: Fruit Cornucopia = Fruit x 4 049: Rotten Cornucopia = Rotten Fruit x 4 103: Prophet's Notebook = Blank Notebook + Magic Pen 118: Chestnuts = Honey + Cheese 119: Melon = Honey + Cucumbers 125: Doodle Book = Blank Notebook + Red and Blue Pencil 138: Ashes = Pretty Flower + Fire Burst I 8. Note that the combos shown in the SP Combos list update every time the combo is performed. This means that you don't have to worry about getting a "perfect" list (e.g. using only Lv. I spells, using a consistent order for ingredients, etc.). You can always change the order or the cards used by simply doing the combo again in battle. I'm really glad the developers had the foresight to include this, especially given that some combos can be created with different sets of cards (e.g. Fruit Cornucopia). 9. You might also want to farm a few [CUCUMBER] from the Albireo enemies, and pick up any [CHAOS EDGE] you may get from the Striper enemies. 10. Exchange your Constellation Magnus, and then head off to the next island. [09/50] [HYDRA] > [PEGASUS CLOAK] [10/50] [TRIANGULUM] > [SHAWL OF THE GODDESS] * You'll also get [CONDITIONER] at this point. ============================================================================= PART III: ANUENUE ============================================================================= _____________________________________________________________________________ ANUENUE PORT (s13) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ [] Explos. Continue in the direction of the save flower to trigger a scene, then visit the shop to buy the usual camp items. I would suggest also buying both of the spells, and the weapons. In addition, try to farm money to buy about 30 [PEACH] - they will eventually (after a total of 80 hours) change into [WONDER MOMO], the best healing/revival item in the game.
3. You can exchange another Constellation Magnus:

[11/50] [AURIGA] > [CHUNK OF ICE]

4. Continue up the ramp in the middle, then head right to enter the east wing
of the School of Magic.

5. In the first room, you get a lecture on the Taintclouds. Afterwards, pick
up [SECRET RECIPE 3] from the bookshelf in the back right, as well as a
[BLACK SCEPTER] from the lockers on the left side.

6. In the other classroom, examine the huge flask with the green liquid and
choose to taste it, then talk to the woman nearby to get a [SILKWORM].

7. Leave and enter the west wing of the school. In the first classroom you'll
get a lecture on the nations of the world. After that, check the locker on
the right side to find a [CHRONOS BLOW II], then keep talking to the boy
in the front left row until he ignores you with "...". Speak to the boy
sitting behind him to then receive the [MAGICAL PIGGY BANK].

8. You can talk to the woman in the middle of the other room to hear the
legend of the ocean. You'll also find a [SWEETHEART PICTURE] among the oil
paintings.

9. Enter the palace and start looting by going to the chamber on the left.
You'll find [DELUXE BANANAS] in the pot with the green plant to the left
of the door.

10. Now enter the right chamber and get the [FLOWER BUD] in the pot with the
same green plant, as well as [STRAWBERRIES] from the table in the middle.

11. You can even enter Queen Corellia's private chamber. Pick up a [CELESTIAL
FLOWER SEED] from the shelf near the bed, take her [HAIR DRYER] from the
dressing table in the back left corner, and... steal her [MATTRESS]...

12. Finally, go upstairs to the audience chamber for a long cutscene, then
leave the palace and trigger another scene - I chose "Let's look for it"
here, not sure if it makes a difference.

13. Head out to the world map and save your game outside the Ancient Library
of Magic. Put Xelha, Lyude and Gibari into your party, and make sure they
have plenty of Light element cards. If you completed the SP combos listed
earlier then you should have plenty of good healing cards as well. Add
only the strongest armor. Also, keep Lyude's Darkness cards since some
enemies will be weak to that element.

1. Note that some bookshelves in this area trigger battles with Cursed Spell-
books and Cursed Grimoire. You can fight them to get photos and farm some
weapon Magnus, since the battles are very easy. These battles reset upon
leaving the area.

2. Head behind the counter, read the notebook on overdue books, and grab the
Geography Section Key from the shelf. The chest in the back contains a
[ZEIT ROBE].

3. Enter the leftmost door with the key. Push the first bookshelf all the way
to the left, then continue to the next one. Push it just enough to get
past it, then push it all the way upward.

4. Pick up [SFORZANDO] from the chest, the Philosophy Section Key from the
lower left corner, and a [WILL-O'-WISP HAT] from a chest hidden behind a
bookshelf in the upper left corner. You'll find the Geography Book in a
bookshelf to the right of the red one you pushed.

5. You may want to heal up and save outside. Either way, head up the stairs
to the right of the main entrance. Pick up the [WAVE BLADE] from the chest
at the end of the landing, then enter the first door.

6. Examine the red bookshelf, then head right, take the [KITE SHIELD], push
the other red bookshelf all the way to the right, and exit. Go through the
first door again and pick up the History Section Key. Go back downstairs
and unlock the door in the back.

7. There is a rare [DELUXE BONBON] on the shelf just above the door in the
upper right corner. You'll find the History Book in a bookshelf in the
lower left, and two chests in the upper left, containing [TAURUS] and
[FRUITY GELATIN]. Return to the big room upstairs.

8. Place the Geography in the bookshelf just above the left red one, then
head right. Examine the first non-empty bookshelf for [DELUXE SHORTCAKE],
and put the History Book in the next one. You'll find a [FALCON STATUE]
in the top right corner.

9. Push the red bookshelf up to clear the way to the Philosophy Section.
Inside, climb the ladder in the bottom right corner, and jump over to find
a [SCARLET SHELL]. Continue jumping to the left and climb down to find
[DELUXE COOKIES] in a chest, and the Literature Section Key in the lower
left corner.

10. Push the red bookshelf downward, then climb back up and jump your way to
the lower left corner of the room. You'll find a [MAGNUM CORNET] in the
chest, and the Philosophy Book in the bookshelf with the ladder. Return
to the main room and place the Philosophy Book in the shelf in the top
right corner, then enter the Literature Section.

11. Loot the chest for a [SILVER SWORD], then make your way to the far left
and push down the red bookcase slightly. Climb the upper ladder, then
jump down to the bookcase with the other ladder and climb back down.

12. Grab the [RUBY EARRINGS] from the chest and equip them, then push the red
bookcase all the way up. You can now reach the book on the ledge. Return
to main room and put the book on the shelf near the entrance to the
Philosophy Section.

13. Heal up if needed, and update your decks with any new cards you may have
found. Save the game, then proceed through the door at the top.

1. This place is can be difficult, because you cannot dodge many of the
enemies here, and they can appear in large groups. However, if you are
careful, then you can get all the treasure and make it out with only five
battles.

2. The first area is linear so just proceed north to the next screen. You can
easily dodge the turtle. Continuing along the path you will have to fight
two battles, and then you'll come to a ladder just after the turtle enemy.
Go down the ladder and pick up the [SILVER EARRINGS] just to the right.

3. The path to the right leads to a dead end with nothing, but head left to
return to a part of the first area where you'll find the [ICE CRYSTAL
BUCKLE]. Note that you can evade the turtle enemy on the way, but not the
plant enemy guarding the treasure.

4. Return to the ladder, climb back up, and continue east to the third area.
Hug the bottom of the path until you find the ladder. Head down and right
to a clearing with six chests containing: [SMASH TACKLE], FIRE BURST III],
[EQUULEUS], [WIND YELL I], [BRAVE KNIGHT HELM], and a [HEAT PADDLE]. I
don't think it's possible to evade the monster on the way.

5. Climb back up the ladder and continue right. You can't evade the plant
monster, but if you're careful, you can evade the monster at the end of
the path at the bottom of the screen. Head down to reach another part of
the very first area.

6. Don't move when you enter, and wait for the plant monster to move up and

you should manage to evade this last battle.

1. Enter the shop and buy the usual camp items (don't bother with the Fruity
Gelatin, though), as well as the weapons and the [FEATHER BARETTE].

2. Continue across the bridge for a scene in which you meet Mayfee. Once that
is done, enter the first house and examine the red flowers to the right of
the cooking area for [LUPUS], and the tub in the bottom right for some
[UNCOOKED RICE]. This will turn into [JAPANESE RICE WINE] in 3 hours, which
will be your first revival item!

3. Now enter Mayfee's house, get some [CURRY] from the pot next to the fire-
place, and speak to her grandmother for a story about being a Keeper for
the Celestial Tree. Exit the house afterwards.

4. Walk down the path and speak to the girl gathering leaves to get [PERSEUS].
Take a moment to exchange all your new Constellation Magnus:

[14/50] [LUPUS] > [MAPLE LEAF]
[15/50] [PERSEUS] > [BOMB]

5. Now go back to the first house and speak to Mayfee, who is praying at the
altar. You will need to get Komo Mai Cookies. If you remember, there was
an old guy selling them in front of Corellia's palace, and Kalas refused
them the first time.

6. So hoof it back to Komo Mai and talk to that guy again. If you still have
a [CELESTIAL FLOWER SEED], then just give it to him, otherwise just go get
one from Corellia's chamber. Either way, go get a second seed, because you
get a [DOLL] for the following seeds.

7. Return to Opu and give Mayfee the cookies for another scene. Pick up the
[FLASH EXPLOSION] afterward, then head out and to the house at the bottom
of the town.

8. Get the [ICE KNUCKLES] from the ceramic containers on the left, then speak

your party Gibari, Lyude, and Savyna, then head off to the Celestial Tree.

1. There will be another scene when you enter. Afterwards, go into the right
tent and pick up the [CRATER] Constellation Magnus.

2. Now climb up the left path and get the [WILD CHERRY BUD] from the chest.
Then return and climb the right path, then again the right one, and then
again the right one to find [GOLD BEETLE CARAPACE]. Return and save.

3. Note that you can and should win a [BUTTERFLY BARETTE] from the flying
enemies here. Equip Savyna with it. You can also win the [URSA MAJOR]
Constellation Magnus.

4. Anyway, head down the right-most track and save Mayfee, then return and
prepare your party. Note that you will have to fight two back-to-back boss
battles, and Kalas will replace Savyna in the second fight. Be sure to
upgrade Kalas' deck, and do include some Water armor. If you like, you can
skip ahead to the end of this part and get started on some SP combos prior
to the upcoming bosses. This will provide you with superior healing, and
maybe you'll be close to getting the [JAPANESE RICE WINE]. The first enemy
on the left path of the Celestial Tree is good for this purpose.

5. Climb up the left path, defeat the monster that ambushes you, and let
Mayfee open the way for you at the top. Enter to fight...

* This boss is not difficult, and in fact I won on my first try,

* However, you need to keep your HP high so that you can survive

1. Keep talking to everyone to progress the story. Once you've met the Great
Mizuti, save at the red flower, and then speak to Xelha to continue to the
mini-game.

2. You will have to follow Mizuti's ship while shooting the enemy formations
attacking your ship. If you miss, then your party will be attacked. If you
are hit by a blue energy ball, your ship is slowed down momentarily, and
if Mizuti's ship goes beyond the horizon (starts blinking at the top of
the radar), then the mini-game is failed, and you have to restart. Note
that you can access the menu at any time during the mini-game.

3. This segment contains a number of missable and/or unique Magnus. First,
you'll encounter two enemies, Zelmer and Ghost Claws, both which appear
only here. So you will have to fight at least two battles and get their
photos. In addition, Zelmer sometimes drop [FROST CAP], and this is the
only source of this piece of equipment. So these are the 3 Magnus you have
to get from the battles here.

4. In addition to that, every enemy formation yields a reward if you manage
to destroy all enemies in that formation. You will be attacked by a total
of 13 formations, as described in the table below (adapted from the guide
by DomZ Ninja):

,-------------------------------------------------------+-----------------.

5. The Magnus received from formations 12 and 13 are missable and/or unique.
[CAMERA II] can be found elsewhere, but the quantity is limited, so you
will still want to get this one.

6. Getting every Magnus is not that complicated. Simply stay directly behind
Mizuti's ship, and constantly shoot along a wide arc in the direction of
the next formation. Swerve to wherever the Magnus card drops, then return
to the central position and continue. You should not have any problems
getting to formation 8 this way.

7. DO NOT shoot at formation 8. You will get 2 battles against Zelmer, and 2
against Ghost Claws. Fight them, get the photos, and hope that at least 1
one the Zelmer formations drops the [FROST CAP].

8. If you did NOT get the [FROST CAP], then simply swerve all the way to one
side of the radar, and actively direct the ship to the blue energy balls.
You might have to fight some battles as well, so be sure to put all your
[ESCAPE] Magnus into Savyna's deck beforehand. Doing this you should be
able to fail the mini-game and get a second chance.

9. For formations 9 and 10, you may want to leave the central position and
wait for them where they appear, but it's not completely necessary.

10. For formations 11 and 12, DO NOT try to wait on one side and move to the
other side while shooting - the enemies appear too fast and you will miss
the last few. Instead, stay in the central position, and shoot in a very
wide arc, mashing the A button to get as many shots out as possible. They
home in on the enemies to some extent, and by staying in the center, you
will never be too far from any of the 5 to shoot them down.

11. It's entirely possible that you defeat a formation but fail to pick up
the Magnus. In this case, follow the directions listed in point 8 above.
Note that you lose all the reward Magnus when the mini-game restarts, but
you keep the Magnus you won from any battles. If you have all 3 of those
Magnus, defeat formation 8 as you would any other, but DO NOT PICK UP the
Speed Boost. If you pick it up, you will most likely not be able to
restart the mini-game if you miss any of the reward cards.

12. Your reward for getting past the mini-game perfectly is a boss fight:

1. There will be a scene upon your entry into the town, then move forward for
another scene.

2. A Quzman family member is sitting to the right of the entrance. If you
have a [DEAD BLUEBIRD], then you can get his signature by roasting the
bird in the oven in the first house to the right and giving it to him.
Don't bother trying to lie to him, he can see right through you.

[15/31] Nubata

3. Anyway, enter that house on the right to get another scene, then leave and
enter the next house on the right. Speak to the guy in the upper right
corner near the chocolate machine, then return to the previous house.

4. Examine the white pots to the left of the oven to get [MIRA CREAM], and
check the refrigerator for a [FROZEN TANGERINE]. Go back to the other
house, give the cream to the guy, and grab some chocolate when Donella
isn't looking. Give it to Trill to get another scene.

5. Raid the house at the far end of town: you'll find [CHRONOS ARMOR] in the
chocolate dresser, and some [FRESH BEEF] in the kitchen area on the left.

6. Enter the shop on the left of town and get the [MOONLIGHT CREEL], as well
as the other equipment and camp items. Unfortunately, the Gnosis photo
only sells for 1 as far as I know, so hopefully you have some extra money.

7. Take a moment to exchange the latest Constellation Magnus.

[18/50] [ANDROMEDA] > [DELUXE BANANAS]

8. Note that there is a kid attending to the oven in the second house who asks
you to take over for a moment while he goes to see Lady Melodia. As far as
I know, he never actually returns while you're waiting, so this favor does
not yield a reward. However, he will be disappointed later on in the game
if you do not help him, so you may still want to trigger this event.

DETOURNE (s21)

[] Green Ring [] Balance [] Silver Barette [] Whirlwind Hit

1. This area can be confusing at first, but follow these instructions and it
shouldn't be a problem.

2. Jump across to the right and speak to the woman in the corner. Ask her all
available questions, then exit, save, and re-enter.

3. The Golden Hero should now be leaning against the wall on the right side.
Speak to him to get the [JET BOOTS], then keep talking to get the [WHITE
SWORD] as well. Now enter the door nearby.

4. WTF.

5. You'll notice there is a high score tally at the top of the screen. There
are green Slime enemies roaming the maze, and every in-battle Slime you
defeat gets you 30 points. You have to defeat all 3 Slimes in this maze
to progress the game, so the minimum score is 90 if you encounter only 1
Slime enemy in each formation. Since it's not feasible to maximize your
score, I chose to go for the minimum. Be sure to get a photo so that you
don't have to fight any more of these battles later! You may also want to
get a [SMALL FIRE] as a drop for later.

6. Fight the first Slime you come across. If you want to fight only 1 but get
several, just reset the game and try again. You may want to save afterward.

7. Enter the doorway in the upper middle of the maze, and jump across to the
right to find the Golden Hero again. Talk to him to get the [RED NECKLACE].

8. Go through the nearby door and fight the second Slime here. Again, you can
reset and try again if you only want to fight a single one.

9. Now retrace your steps and enter the doorway in the center of the maze. You
will find the balance controlling the red and blue blocks, as well as two
chests containing a [SILVER BARETTE] and [WHIRLWIND HIT]. Use the red block
to get to the center and fill the blue scale with 2 [PRISTINE WATER] from
the fountain.

10. Exit this area and enter again the doorway in the upper middle. Examine
the chain and choose to break it. Now enter the lower middle door, exit,
and save your game.

11. Re-enter the maze and fight the last Slime. You'll hear a chime afterward
and a chest will appear in the closed-off section in the bottom left of
the maze. Exit out the bottom middle door, hop over the blue block to the
left, enter the door, and get the [GOLDEN PICKAXE]. This item will still
be needed much later in the game, so if you want to keep your score at the
minimum, do NOT discard the pickaxe to make room later on.

12. Go back the way you came and wait in the maze while the timer runs down.
You should hear another chime after a few seconds, and another chest will
have appeared in the maze. If it appears somewhere you can't reach without
leaving the maze, simply exit, re-enter, and try again until you can get
the chest. You'll get the [GREEN RING].

13. Now stay in the maze until the timer runs out. Blue Will-o'-Wisps will
appear. Touch them and you'll hear another chime. Find the chest to get
the [BALANCE].

14. Exit the maze through the lower right doorway and talk to the Golden Hero.
He will temporarily switch the balance, letting you hop across to the
middle section to grab the [GOLDEN KEY]. Save outside.

15. Go back into the maze and use the golden items to reach and unlock the
locked door near the middle. Enter to fight the next boss:

* Yawn, another surprisingly easy boss. Don't let the resistances

1. This is a quick and easy area. After the weird monologue at the entrance,
head across and under the bridge to find the shop. Buy all the equipment,
the spell, and the camp items.

2. Enter the house in the upper right and examine both drawers to find the
[TRI-CRESCENDO PEN] and the [MONOLITH PEN]. Congratulations, you now have
access to [HOLY GRAIL] (SP combo of the two pens), and [SACRED WINE] (SP
combo of [HOLY GRAIL] and [JAPANESE RICE WINE]).

3. Give some [MIRAGE WEED] to the robot on the left side of the bridge, then

1. There will be a brief exchange between you and Kalas when you enter. Select

2. Note that you can get 2 Constellation Magnus from the two flying enemies
here: [HERCULES] from the Ray-moo, and [CEPHEUS] from the Fillers.

3. At the fork, take the upper path and continue until you reach a chest with
a [WIND GOD BLADE], then return to the fork and go the other way.

4. You'll find [CORONA BOREALIS] at the bottom of the second area.

5. Continue to the third screen to find a chest with a [WATER BLADE] and save
your game at the red flower. Continue onward for some scenes and a boss:

1. After the brief scene at the entrance, head to the blue save flower, save,
and exchange all those Constellation Magnus you've found. You should get
the [GOLDEN ANKLET] in addition to the rewards below.

[19/50] [CORONA BOREALIS] > [ROBE OF FIRELIGHT]
[20/50] [VIRGO] > [GLADIUS]
[21/50] [HERCULES] > [BURNING ARROW]
[22/50] [CEPHEUS] > [LIGHT YELL I]

2. Now enter the shop, heal up, and buy the spells, weapons, and camp items.

3. Time for looting. The first house on the right has two items - [MILLINERY]
in the dresser in the back, and some [SUGAR CANE] in the pots to the right.

4. Next go into the house at the top of the stairs. Here you'll find *another*
random old woman wishing to tell you a legend. Listen to it for a scene.
It was at this point that I started suspecting the fortuneteller woman to
be the game's final boss, and these random legend-telling women to be her
manifestations trolling you during the adventure (lol).

5. Anyway, examine the plants to the left of the entrance for a [CEDAR TREE]
and check the dishes in the back left to find a [POT OF AIR].

6. The last house here is the restaurant. Check the barrels on the left for
some [DELUXE RED WINE], then go behind the counter and examine the oven
to get some [BACON].

7. The [GOLD BEETLE CARAPACE] should have turned into a [GOLD NUGGET] by now.
You can give it to the man or the woman sitting at the left table. It's
your choice which one you give it to, both reward you with a rare stat-
increasing Magnus, but both can be gotten elsewhere.

8. Finally, speak to Trill's father behind the counter and accept his request.
Then talk to the guy outside the restaurant and select whichever options
you like. Speak to Trill's father again to receive a [SCORPION BARETTE]
as a thank-you.

9. You're done in this area, so continue onward to the Duke's manor.

10. After the introduction, go up the stairs and enter the door on the right.
Inside, examine the picture on the left to get [THE SILENT WOMAN], and
the bookshelf near the entrance to find [SECRET RECIPE 5].

11. Now enter the room on the other end of the landing. Check the pink arm-
chair for a [SLEET SHAWL], and below the bed for [TEARLESS MERMAID].

12. Go into the audience room for a scene. Mizuti finally joins the party,
though honestly it would have been better if he joined later and at a
higher level.

13. Anyway, run back down the stairs and enter the door on the right. Here
you will find [PISCIS AUSTRALIS] if you examine the drums, and [JILL's
JEWELRY BOX] in the cabinet in the upper left corner. Descend the ladder.

1. Grab the [ROBE OF FIRELIGHT] in the obvious chest, then continue through
the doorway.

2. This place might seem confusing, but it's just showing you the same area
from many different angles. The first area is circular, so just run around
until you find the chest with the [HEAVEN'S PILLAR], then continue to the
rod with the moon. Examine it to get warped to the next area.

3. The second area is easy. Pick up [CORONA AUSTRALIS] from the slightly
obscured chest in the upper right, then continue along the zigzag path to
the rod with the moon.

4. Use the save point in the third area. You may want to modify Mizuti's deck
so that he does not use any Light or Wind magic. You can add some armor
to Lyude's deck if you want, but Mizuti has two revival Magnus, so even
this is not really needed. Examine the rod with the moon to get warped to
the boss battle.

5. A number of scenes will follow, and some prompts. I chose "Let's go!" and
"I don't want to believe it, but...".

6. You can go to the nearest blue flower to exchange more Constellation
Magnus:

[23/50] [PISCIS AUSTRALIS] > [BRILLIANT HORN]
[24/50] [CORONA AUSTRALIS] > [WHEAT CRACKERS]
[25/50] [CAPRICORNUS] > [FROZEN TANGERINE]

7. After this, you can go directly to the end of Disc 1 by talking to Melodia
in her room. However, I recommend getting some more SP combos out of the
way, ESPECIALLY #004:

004: Sacred Wine = Holy Grail + Japanese Rice Wine
019: Beef Jerky = Fresh Beef + Large Fire
020: Grilled Hamburger = Fresh Beef + Charcoal + Large Fire
044: Frozen Tangerine = Orange + Chunk of Ice
049: Rotten Cornucopia = Rotten Fruit x 4
055: Rotten Wood = Cedar Wood + Dark Flare I
064: Minced Skipjack = Skipjack + Charcoal + Fire Burst I
096: Evil Ashes = Tri-Crescendo Pen + Fire Burst I
097: Dried Persimmons = Persimmons + Light Flare I
098: Firefighting Medal = Small Fire + Mineral Water
105: Unicorn Blow Horn = Unicorn Horn + Sculpting Knife
113: Monolith Brochure = Blank Notebook + Monolith Pen
114: Tri-Cres Job Offer = Blank Notebook + Tri-Crescendo Pen
126: Ice Sculpture = Chunk of Ice + Small Knife
136: Pet Food = Rotten Meat + Fire Burst I
140: Charcoal = Cedar Wood + Fire Burst I
141: Holy Grail = Monolith Pen + Tri-Crescendo Pen

8. I strongly suggest you give Mizuti all your [JAPANESE RICE WINE] and then
keep entering battles and making more [SACRED WINE] until you have 9. You
can also include the two pens and make some [HOLY GRAIL] to make it
easier to get the combo quickly.

9. The [SACRED WINE] replaces all your revival and healing items, so give 3
copies to each member in the battle party and you're set. If you like you
can use more. If you got [CUCUMBER] all the way back in the Cloud Passage
then some of them may be turning into [DELUXE PICKLES] at this point. This
is a good secondary healing Magnus since it also boosts ATK nicely.

2. Continue through the columns there to reach the spokes - check the tip of
the second one from the bottom to find [SECRET RECIPE 6].

3. Enter the round building, grab the [PICKLED EGGPLANTS] from the jars to
the right, and a [VIKING HELMET] from the chest.

4. Continue to the next screen to witness a scene, then enter the shop. If
you don't have enough money to buy the equipment, don't worry. You will
be able to get plenty in a few minutes.

5. Turn the corner and head up the path to and enter the house at the end.
Speak to the man inside for a short story, then examine the window in the
back for an [APPLE PIE (SLICE)] and loot the chest for a [SLEET SHAWL].

6. Return to the intersection and continue onward. The next house does not
have anything to collect, so you can continue past the crowd and into the
bar. Inside you'll find 2 chests containing a [COFFIN SHIELD] and a [SCALE
MAIL]. Check the pots on the left for the [ARA] Constellation, then go up
the stairs for another scene.

7. Go south and you'll see that the crowd has dispersed. You can continue on
to the house at the end of the path, but you won't find any treasure.

8. Either way, return to the street below and head up the path below the
walkway to reach Lyude's house. Go inside for more dramatic scenes.

9. You'll now have to fight your way back to the airship dock. Note that the
Imperial Soldiers here are missable, so get a photo of the regular and the
Elite version before continuing (the Elite can be somewhat rare).

10. I STRONGLY suggest to fight extra battles for money, weapons, and armor.
The shop is still functional so you get quick and easy healing, and the
enemies respawn whenever you change screens.

11. One particularly useful Magnus is the [RAINBOW STRAW HAT], usable by
Mizuti, Savyna, and Xelha. It will be useful for the upcoming boss battle.

12. Heal up, save at the blue flower, and examine the airship once you're
ready to move on.

1. You'll have to fight a forced battle with Imperial Walkers before you gain
entry into the ship.

2. Inside, use the red flower and SAVE OVER A DIFFERENT SLOT. You will not be
able to return anywhere until you've cleared this area, which entails
getting past the boss battle. This one is generally considered to be the
hardest in the game, and if you're also at base levels...

3. You can avoid all of the Imperial Walkers in this area. Just be sure that
you have snapped a photo of at least one for your Gathering. You can get
more [CRYSTAL NAILS] as drops, so you might want to consider farming a bit.

4. The passwords dropped are not random, the same on-screen enemies always
drop the same password. You don't need to have seen them to use them.

5. Go along the bottom path to the next area. Here, enter the left cabin and
grab another [RAINBOW STRAW HAT] from the chest, and check the bunk bed
for another [SLEET SHAWL].

6. Leave and enter the right cabin. Here the chest holds a [GRACE SHIELD],
and on the bed you'll find a [ROBE OF FIRELIGHT]. Exit.

7. There is a door below the door to the right cabin. Enter and you'll come
to an open area with 2 chests containing [RICE PAPER] and a [CETAKA's
SWORD]. Go back again.

8. Go down the right path to reach the hangar. Take the [CRYSTAL NAILS] from
the chest, and return to the main area. Go up the steps in the center.

9. You can now input all the codes. Here's a table:

,------.-----------------------.------.-----------------------.
| CODE | EFFECT | CODE | EFFECT |

'-------------------------------------------------------------'

10. Return to the save point and prepare your party. You should use Mizuti,
Savyna, and Lyude. Contrary to previous battles, defensive Magnus will be
essential. In fact, you should fill your decks with the best Light and
Aqua armors available, and 3 Sacred Wine per character. Add [DELUXE
PICKLES] if you have any - they heal for the same amount and boost ATK.
For Lyude, you can skip attack Magnus altogether, provided you have
enough quality armor. I kept only a few of his strongest attack Magnus.

11. Go through the bridge door for a scene, and of course, a boss battle:

* Now this is definitely a step up compared to all the previous
boss fights. However, it is manageable if you play defensively.

* Defend, defend, defend, then heal anyone that is below 50% HP.
Attack only if no one needs healing or if you have only attack
cards.

* Focus your attacks on Folon first - his attack is the strongest
and it is the hardest to reduce with armor.

* Remember that Giacomo attacks with Fire, and the others with
Dark. So if you have a choice, use the right Aqua/Light armor.
Do NOT use more than 2 or 3 armors on Ayme's attacks - they are
weak. The exception is Lyude.

* Lyude's role in this battle is just to take hits so that Mizuti
and Savyna can get openings to attack. To this end, he should
always use all armors available to him. From my experience,
he should be able to survive two attacks, and get knocked out
by the third if he isn't healed.

* The battle becomes much more manageable once Folon is out of
the picture, but don't go all out at the start in an attempt to
knock him out as soon as possible - maintaining high HP should
take priority, particularly as your shuffle turns draw near.

* Once he's out, focus your attention on Ayme. She will go down
much faster.

* Finally, Giacomo should not pose too much trouble, but do keep
in mind that he will start using his finishers, End Slasher and
Imperial Force, once he gets low on HP.

12. DO NOT MOVE after the battle. Open the menu and heal up before running to
the save point. Try to evade the enemy, of course.

13. Run to the hangar and examine the oil tank in the left corner. Take out
some [OIL] and use it on the second pod from the left. Some scenes will
follow and you will be on the Alfard overworld map. Save your game.

1. You'll be treated to some more scenes upon entry. Select "Now's not the
time for this" when prompted.

2. The shop is at the far end of town. Rest up, then get the equipment and
both spells.

3. Enter the tower-like structure on the left for another scene. Now you can
start looting this poor town. You'll find [GREEN TEA] in the barrel to the
right of the next doorway. Go up, and hug the right wall to reach a secret
area with the [LUPUS] Constellation.

4. Examine the drill in the second area to find a [SCULPTING KNIFE], and the
shelf across from the drill for a [CRIMSON OAK BLOSSOM]. Continue up for
another scene, then head back out to trigger more events.

5. You'll gain access to the Lava Caves. I selected "Don't get all mushy on
me."

6. Go further in to the cave and you'll come across a door. Examine it to get
a scene with some weird guy. Keep going afterwards to reach his cave.

7. You'll have a conversation with this guy. When prompted, select "Of course
it does", and then "Cebalrai."

8. After all that, raid the chest for a [DREAM BLADE], grab [SERPENS] from
the barrel behind the bed, and take the [GRUMBLE PEN] from under the blue-
prints on the table to the right.

9. Return to the previous door and talk to the guy to finally gain access.

1. First off, trap some [LAVA]. You will need to age it for 30 minutes to get
[HOT ROCK]. Once you have one, return to the tower structure and give the
rock to the woman on the left of the bottom floor. She will give you a
[CETAKA'S SWORD] as thanks, and the elderly woman lying in the bed will
give you the [PLATINUM BUCKLE].

2. You probably noticed the children running and begging outside. If you give
them 13 Magnus, the guy sitting to the right of the town entrance will give
you a [MEPHISTOPHELES CLOAK], and if you then continue giving them Magnus
he will give you [SECRET RECIPE 7] once you've handed them 21 cards. Any
quest Magnus seems to work, so you can use the [LAVA] here, or the [ROCK
SALT] from the second floor of the tower.

3. Anyway, open the chest in the first area for a [SHADOW THRUSTER]. Head left
at the fork to find that the path is blocked by a lava flow. Return to the
guy from before to find out what to do.

4. He'll tell you to find [FLAME ICE], so return to the caves and take the
right path at the fork. Get the [FLAME ICE] and bring it to the guy to get
his machine working, from which you will need to take 2 [SPARKLING SNOW].

5. Go back to cave and to the flowing lava. Use a [SPARKLING SNOW] to freeze
it, then head down to where it was flowing to find 2 chests containing
[GOLD EARRINGS] and [CATFISH WHISKERS].

6. Run back up and continue onward into the cave. Use another [SPARKLING SNOW]
on the second lava flow, and head down again to find a chest with a [SOLAR
SABER].

7. Save and get ready for the boss battle. Due to upcoming events, you should
fill Xelha's deck with her strongest armor, the strongest Light and Water
spells, AND A CAMERA. Take cards from Mizuti or Savyna, if needed. After
that, make sure Mizuti, Savyna and Lyude are loaded up with the remaining
strongest Light, Water, and Chronos attack Magnus, with 3 or 4 healing
Magnus, and the remaining strongest armors.

3. Head left, then left again, and at the end of the hallway you'll find a

1. Talk to everyone in the audience chamber to progress the story. Xelha will
be on her own and her task is to rescue the others. Note that it IS later
explained why they are sealed away rather than just having been killed off.

2. But before we save our friends, there are a few fetch quests that get
priority! :D You finally have free roam on the world map, so this is a
great time to take care of them.

3. Grab a [CELESTIAL FLOWER SEED] from Corellia's stash. If you don't have a
[CELESTIAL FLOWER], then take 2 seeds.

4. Exit the palace and enter the right wing of the School of Magic. Get 2
[POPULAR PICK-UP LINE] from the guy talking to the girl in the hallway,
then enter the first classroom. Give the line to the guy sitting in the
middle row on the right, then exit and re-enter, and talk to him to get a
[ZEIT ROBE] for your efforts.

5. Head to the town area and finally save your game! Make sure to save in
another slot. The upcoming parts are not difficult, but you never know.

6. Take the opportunity to exchange some Constellation Magnus. Try to get a
[VOICE V] that has a 9.

[26/50] [ARA] > [MAGIC BEANS-DEATH]
[27/50] [LUPUS] > [VOICE V]
[28/50] [SERPENS] > [JUMBO PASTRY]

7. Exit the town. Your [CELESTRIAL FLOWER SEED] should be a [CELESTIAL FLOWER]
by now. If you didn't age one, then pick up a seed from Corellia's palace
now. Either way, the [CELESTIAL FLOWER] can be given to Mayfee in Opu for
a [DELUXE SHISH KEBAB]. Note that she continues accepting them, so you can
get multiple copies.

8. Either way, head to the port, and fly to Diadem. Go to the bar and talk to
the guy in the bottom right corner. Give him the [POPULAR PICK-UP LINE],
then exit and re-enter, and talk to him again to get a [SHAKO].

9. Fly to Sadal Suud and head to Cebalrai. Pick up a [MOUNTAIN APPLE] and a
[POW MILK]. You need to age these into [MOUNTAIN APPLE WINE] and [POW MILK
YOGHURT], so take care of the following tasks in the meantime.

10. Go to Pherkad and check up on Quzman. Examine the photo on the left bed-
side table and you'll get another signature.

[17/31] Usaybia

11. Check the triangular cabinet in the corner to get [TERRIBLE PAINTING].

12. Talk to Quzman to collect the first two rewards:

Bloodline of Taymiya > [SORCERER'S SEAL]
Family of Sabin > [VOICE IV]

13. Now fly to Alfard and enter Mintaka. Go to the house left of the Magnus
shop and examine the diary on the desk in the corner to get [GIRL'S
THOUGHTS].

14. Head up the path to the left to return to Lyude's house. You can now get
the items inside: [PRETTY FLOWERS] from the bouquet in front of the
entrance, [RICE PAPER] from the kitchen to the right, and [INTERMEZZO]
from the chest.

15. Leave Mintaka and go to Azha. Climb to the top of the tower and speak to
the kid blocking the way. Give him the [GIRL'S THOUGHTS] and you'll be
allowed entry. He will also give you a [RED OAK].

16. Now you can finally finish robbing these poor people: the big pot on the
left contains a [SUNFLOWER COIN], the shelves in the middle have [PORK
RIBS], and the pot next to the kitchen hides a [JUMBO PASTRY]. There is
now nothing left for you to steal in this town, so leave.

17. Fly back to Diadem and get a [CLOUD] from the cloud machine, then fly to
Mira.

18. In Parnasse, there will be 2 children near the save flower. The one on
the left wants a [CELESTIAL FLOWER SEED], and will hand over a [SILK ROBE]
in return. The other kid needs [MOUNTAIN APPLE WINE], and will give you
[SECOND HAND] as thanks.

19. Continue onward to Reverence. Talk to the woman sitting next to the bridge
and give her the [TERRIBLE PAINTING]. She'll then sign the Family Tree.

[18/31] Misjah

20. Keep going and enter Balancoire. A woman near the entrance is wondering
about the clouds in Diadem, so give her a [CLOUD]. She'll give you an
[ARM BOMBER] as thanks.

21. Note that you can stock up on spells now, especially [LIGHT FLARE III] in
Reverence, and [AQUA BURST III] in Parnasse, both of which will be useful
soon.

22. Finally, return to Corellia's palace once your [POW MILK] has turned into
[POW MILK YOGHURT]. Give the yoghurt to the guard next to the left chamber
and you'll get the [SAGITTA] Constellation. He will mention another gift,
but this will come much later in the game.

1. It's time to continue with the story. Fill up Xelha's deck with all of the
strongest Light and Aqua spells and armor. You can include some healing,
but strong armor is more important.

2. Fly to Diadem and get another [CLOUD] from the cloud machine, then save
on the world map.

3. Enter the Shrine of Winds, go through the interdimensional crack, and use
the [CLOUD] on the wall to trigger the first of a series of bosses:

* Always defend as much as possible, and use all your spells when
you have the chance. If you can pull off some good combos, then
the battle should be over in no time.

'-------------------------------------------------------------------'

4. After the battle, free Gibari. Exchange all of Xelha's Aqua cards for Fire.
This includes the armor, so drop [SLEET SHAWL] and include [SPARK HAT] and
[ROBE OF FIRELIGHT]. You may want to include 2 or 3 revival Magnus.

5. It's been ages since we used Gibari. Fill his deck with defensive cards,
especially [BLUE SKY MAIL]. Include [BEER] if you have any. You probably
don't have any [SACRED WINE] because it's in the others' decks. You can
easily make as many as you want by using the weak monsters on Sadal Suud,
but your priority in the next battle should be avoiding KO, rather than
healing it. So include the strongest armor and also his strongest defensive
paddles, as long as they are not Aqua elemental. Include the [CRIMSON OAK
BLOSSOM] for Freeze heal, and any other healing Magnus if you don't make
[SACRED WINE]. You can use [JAPANESE RICE WINE] as a makeshift replacement.

6. Now head to Mira and grab some [MIRAGE WEED] from Detourne. The next inter-
dimensional crack is in the Calbren Manor basement. You can save at the
blue save flower in Balancoire, and quickly reach the crack through the
waterway. Use the [MIRAGE WEED] on the wall to trigger the next battle:

* This fight is noticeably more difficult than the previous one,
and you need to be more careful.

* The main idea here is to have Xelha attack with spells every
turn, while Gibari heals either himself or Xelha following each
of the boss's attacks. Like in the battle with the trio, your
aim should be to reduce damage and prevent KO by using armor.

* Try to keep 1 revival Magnus in each hand at all times in case
someone is knocked out. I don't think it's possible for Xelha
or Gibari to solo this battle with the current armor, so you
need one character on healing duty (Gibari), and both need to
be ready to revive the other immediately if needed.

7. YESSSS, our powerhouse Mizuti will be back after this battle! Update
Mizuti's deck by exchanging all Chronos spells for Wind, and transferring
the strongest Light spells from Xelha. Replace them with more defense and
revival/healing in Xelha's deck. Also, make sure everyone has revival
Magnus.

8. Fly back to Anuenue and grab yet another [CELESTIAL FLOWER SEED]. Climb to
the top of the Celestial Tree to enter the third interdimensional crack.
Use the seed to trigger the battle.

* Be sure Xelha and Gibari hold on to at least 1 revival Magnus
at all times in case Mizuti gets OHKO'd by Hour of Reckoning.

* Other than that, it's a pretty standard battle. Have Xelha and
Gibari focus 100% on just staying alive, and let Mizuti take
care of dealing damage.

8. YESSSSS, Lady Death is BACCCKKK. Replace Xelha IMMEDIATELY :D Also switch
Mizuti's Wind spells back to Chronos.

9. It's time to head back to the Lava Caves. Grab a [LAVA] at the entrance
and make your way to the end of the cave. Save your game, then do the
usual for your next boss fight:

* I don't have anything noteworthy to say about this battle. The
boss has a ton of HP, but no really threatening attacks, so you
just chip away one attack at a time, heal/revive when needed,
and that's all. It's 3-on-1 and the boss does not get double
turns, so your victory is pretty much guaranteed.

'-------------------------------------------------------------------'

10. We now have our main fighting party back. Replace Gibari immediately.

11. Leave the caves. You may want to stop by the blue save flower and trade
in all the Constellation Magnus we've amassed since the last time. You
should also receive a [CRYSTAL HELM] in addition to the items below.

[29/50] [OPHIUCHUS] > [LIGHT FLARE IV]
[30/50] [CANCER] > [DARK FLARE IV]
[31/50] [LYRA] > [GOOD FORTUNE]
[32/50] [LIBRA] > [EXPLOSIVE PADDLE]
[33/50] [SAGITTA] > [AQUA IMPULSE]

12. If there is anything else you need to do or buy anywhere, then do it now.
You will not be able to travel around the world for a while again after
you progress the story now.

13. Return to Corellia's palace and speak with all of the leaders. At the
prompt I chose "Right, let's go." Go to the port and board the Mindeer
to fly off to Wazn.

1. You'll want to replace all Aqua offensive Magnus with Fire or another
element for the random battles here. Don't underestimate them, especially
if up against a trio.

2. Take the [LEO] Constellation from the chest and continue onward.

3. On the next screen, pick up a [FORSETI ROBE] from the chest, and touch
the shining light. Then go right and go to the end of the cliff on the left
to find another shining light. Return and go right to reach the next area.

4. At the fork, head right, open the chest for an [AQUA BURST IV], and head
up the slope. Turn right to reach another shining light, then backtrack
and head left for the fourth and final one.

5. Go back one screen, go down, and now take the left path at the original
fork. Beware of the spiders, their paralysis can make short work of your
party, especially if you're up against a set of three.

6. Grab a [TOWER SHIELD] from the chest, then continue to the next screen.

7. Here you'll find two more chests with a [DELUXE PASTRY] and [SHEPHERD'S
PURSE], as well as the exit.

8. Note that you can win the [DELPHINO] Constellation from the Flobo enemies,
but you will have a much better opportunity to farm for this later.

1. There will be many scenes. I chose "No problem" at the prompt.

2. Once all the events are over, it's time to loot this country, starting
with the Queen's chambers. Examine Xelha's bed for [DANCING FLAMES] (...)

3. You'll also find a [YOUNG WASABI ROOT] in the lamp in the lower left, a
[LIGHT FLARE IV] spell in the cabinet in the upper left.

4. Leave the room and save at the red flower, then go down the stairs.

5. Enter the chamber on the left and talk to the woman to initiate the Animals
of Wazn Campaign. After that, check the pot in the lower right corner to
find [SHORTCAKE (LARGE)].

6. Now enter the right chamber and speak to the two women there. These are
the wives of the two warriors who died protecting Xelha from the Saber
Dragon at the start of the game. This is why you've been holding on to
those [WARRIORS' MEMENTOS] for so long. However, the mementos will age
into [WARRIORS' MEMORIES] after 50 hours, so DO NOT hand the mementos over.
Wait until they have transformed.

7. Anyway, this room also has two chests with a [PHOENIX HELM] and [BIRDIE
FATALE], and you'll find [EEL] if you examine the pot in the lower left.

8. Continue your way downstairs and enter the right chamber to meet the white
dragon, then go to the left chamber. Talk to the guy examining the engra-
vings, then get some [GREEN TEA] from the little table next to the sofa.
You can't open the pot in the lower right yet.

9. Finally, make your way into the town for a scene. Talk to the boy standing
next to the woman nearby for another short scene.

10. You can't help the ice-skating girl yet, so head to the left part of town.
Examine the snowman at the end of the street to find a [CLOUDY EMBLEM],
then enter the house nearby.

11. Inside, you'll find [SOYBEANS] in the bin to the right, and a [DARK FLARE
IV] in the bin on the left. Exit and enter the next house, where you'll
find the [URSA MINOR] Constellation on the big frozen fish in the middle.

12. Backtrack and head to the right part of town. Speak to the woman outside
the Magnus shop - she's another Quzman family member.

[19/31] Yamin

13. Rest at the shop and buy the Wind spell, in addition to whatever else you
want.

14. Finally, return to the top floor of the castle and enter the chamber on
the right. You'll find the [SAGITTARIUS] Constellation in the back. Save
at the red save flower outside, then go back inside and speak to Barnette.

lose.

15. After the scenes, return to the ritual room and speak to Barnette. We will
need to craft 4 ice weapons for the statues. Go into the town and enter
the house at the end of the left side. Talk to the man inside, then talk
to his son.

16. Your party go automatically reformed during the previous events, so fix
that, then leave Cursa and save on the bridge (it acts as the world map).

17. Enter Gomeisa and talk to man wandering the first screen. He is a Quzman
family member, but he won't sign until he finds his missing daughter. Of
course that's where you come in. She's where the fourth shiny light was,
so head there and speak to her. You can then get the father's signature.

[20/31] Yunus
[21/31] Gabirol

18. This is a good time to farm the flying Flobo enemies for the [DELPHINUS]
Constellation.

19. Anyway, head to the fork with the sparkling snow and grab some. Then run
back to the ritual room (the snow melts quickly) and give it to the kid.
Solve the easy puzzle and we're done here.

20. Go to the port at the right side of town and climb onto the white dragon.
You can exchange your Constellation Magnus on the way:

[34/50] [LEO] > [BIRCH]
[35/50] [URSA MINOR] > [CHARRED FISH]
[36/50] [DELPHINUS] > [SFORZANDO]
[37/50] [SAGITTARIUS] > [SUGAR CANE]

21. You'll be taken back to Anuenue for further events. I chose "Sure, it'll
be fine" at the prompt. After the scenes, go back to the port and you'll
be taken to Mintaka.

22. Enter the first building and speak to the couple to get your first animal,
the Fluffpup.

[01/17] Fluffpup

23. The Gagarek enemies in the city are available only now, so make sure you
get a photo before moving on.

24. You can save all the citizens if you want. Although the enemies respawn,
the citizens escape. You don't receive any rewards, but the enemies are
easy to defeat and drop some nice Magnus. The photos also sell for a lot.

25. Check also the inside of buildings if you want to save everyone.

26. Either way, leave Mintaka and save on the world map outside the Imperial
Fortress.

1. As usual, a brief scene upon entry, and then you're free to start looting.
Open the 2 chests in the back for a [WAVE CUTTER] and [LIGHT FLARE IV],
then head inside.

2. Continue left, then left again for another chest containing a [FIRE BURST
IV], then take the elevator up to the 1st floor.

3. Keep going left until you reach a dead end. Examine the basket under the
stand for a [DELUXE CREAM PUFF], and get the [WOLF FANGS] from the chest.

4. Go back right and take the elevator up to the 4th floor. Go all the way to
the right to where the hole is, and go through. Open the 2 chests outside
for [SCORPIUS] and a [DARK FLARE IV].

5. Return inside and run to the other end of the floor to find the [ELEVATOR
KEY] on the desk with the computer. There are no items in the cells.

6. Take the elevator back to the 1st floor, and keep going right until you
reach a fork. Take the path leading up to reach some soldiers' quarters.
Inside you'll find a chest with an [AQUA IMPULSE], and a soldier who asks
you to adopt his Bunnycat.

[02/17] Bunnycat

7. Head back to the fork and continue going right until you reach a bathroom
area. Examine the third urinal from the left for an [AQUA YELL I].
Open the first stall to fight an Imperial Soldier. Note that this is the
same type as the ones you fought at the beginning of the game. This is
your absolute last chance to get a photo of this enemy if you somehow
neglected to do so at the start of the game.

8. The second stall has a chest with a [PHOENIX HELM], the third has a weird
scene with a soldier looking at pr0n - take the [PRISON CELL KEY] from him
afterward. The fourth stall is empty, but you can open it.

9. Return to the nearest elevator and head up to the 5th floor. Go right to
an equipment room. Check the locker immediately to the left for some
[INFERNO FISTS]. An [ELFREETI SUIT] can be found in the ammunition below
the flag, and the bookshelf in the back of the room has an [ASURA TUBA].
The two obvious chests contain a [DRAGONFLY] and a [BLOOD SWORD].

10. Now make your way all the way to the left end of this floor to reach the
throne room and get another one of those cringe-worthy Lyude scenes. Ugh.

11. Anyway, open the chests for an [AQUA BURST IV] and a [FULL HELM], then
check behind the throne to find a [GOLDEN BUGLE]. Save if you like.

12. Now's a good time to get photos of all the enemies here, if you haven't.

13. Go back and take the elevator down to the 3rd floor. Examine the force
field, then go left to enter the Geldoblame's personal chamber...

14. The chest contains [CROWN OF BUBBLES]. Check the wooden horse for [BIRCH]
and, as usual, examine the bed... You'll find a secret compartment with
a [CUTE DOLL]...

15. You will need to get 4 essences of [STAGNANT WATER] from the pool in the
middle of the room. You don't need all at once, but take as many as you
have room for.

16. Now go back up to the 5th floor, then head right and up to reach the
security control room. Examine the machine in the center and use the
[STAGNANT WATER] to fill it up. You need to pour in 4 essences, so make
return trips to the pool if needed.

17. Once the electrical field has been deactivated, return to the throne room,
make your deck preparations, and save your game.

18. I suggest filling Mizuti's deck with the best Light and Wind spells. I
also replaced Lyude with Gibari, because the latter has access to the
[BLUE SKY MAIL], which I had several copies of at this point thanks to
drops. Unfortunately, there aren't any other strong Wind armors available
at this point. Also fill Gibari's deck with his Wind and Light weapons
since they can be used for defense. Include the best Wind and Light
armors for the others as well. Make sure everyone holds 3 to 4 [SACRED
WINE], and fill in any remaining open slots with strong healing cards.

19. Go past where the force field was to initiate some further scenes and...

* Tough battle here. I did manage to win on my first attempt, but
I literally finished the battle with the last character and at
low HP.

* You should be able to survive his attacks if you have the right
armor cards and manage to string together a Straight or Pairs.
However, don't bother with this once he has used Orb of Magical
Offense - this pumps his attack power beyond manageable levels.

* However, it seems that the effect of those boosts is temporary.
His attacks will revert to their normal power soon after. He
may then use another turn for the power up. In the end it's not
so bad, as long as you keep [SACRED WINE] in everyone's hands.

* Although Gibari has effective weapons against this boss, I did
not really have any chance to use them because he was too busy
defending or reviving. However, you should attack with them if
you need to draw cards like [SACRED WINE] or other healing.

* This battle is 3-on-1 so in principle, you shouldn't have too
much trouble. It really only gets difficult if you draw bad
hands and don't have [SACRED WINE] ready the moment someone is
knocked out.

'-------------------------------------------------------------------'

20. Heal up and continue onward after the battle. Use the red save flower in
the next area. You can try different things for the next battle, but what
worked for me was putting Lyude back in the party, and filling his and
Savyna's decks with nothing but revival and healing cards, and the
strongest armor available to them and not usable by Mizuti. I also put in
plenty of stat-boosting cards like [PICKLED CUCUMBERS], [SHORTCAKE], etc.
I gave Mizuti the strongest Light armor (farming those RAINBOW FEATHER
HATS] really paid off here), the strongest non-conflicting armor of the
other elements, and replaced the Wind spells with Chronos. Note that a
Lv 3 Light spell will be more powerful than a Lv 3 Chronos, so replace
accordingly. You should generally favor armor over spells, though.
Finally, check your characters' equipment and equip the gear offering the
highest Paralysis resistance.

* This battle is very deceptive. You can rush into this without
making any changes from the previous fight and easily reduce
the boss to around 2000 HP. And then you get overwhelmed and
steam-rolled by his combination of Binding Wings and Fangs of
Darkness, while he heals much of the damage you've done.

* That combo is really the only issue with this battle, it's not
the high HP as such. And the trick to winning is that he only
targets one character with the combo, and if Binding Wings KO's
that character, then he ends his turn without Fangs of Darkness.

* With the decks set up as above, you'll probably feel a bit rest-
less during the first few rounds, only dealing damage with the
spells from Mizuti while the other sit on their healing cards.
Be patient and keep track of his HP, and use any stat-boosting
cards on Mizuti if Savyna and Lyude don't have anything else to
do. Once you've dealt around 5000 to 6000 damage, he will start
aggressively using the combo mentioned above, i.e. the real
battle starts.

* At this point the singular aim of your turns should be to keep
all 3 characters conscious at all times, and attack with Mizuti
only in moments of respite when no one needs to be healed or
revived.

* From my experience, Savyna can survive Binding Wings and resist
the Paralysis even without blocking, provided she is at full HP.
This leaves you with 2 options. You can either save your armor
cards for Fangs of Darkness to reduce the healing effect, or
you can revive her without healing up to full HP, so that the
next Binding Wings knocks her out. This appears to cancel the
Fangs of Darkness combo, from what I observed.

* I wouldn't bother with armor for Lyude. On the other hand, Mizu-
ti should always defend.

* You should keep careful track of which revival/healing items
each character holds. Discard armor or whatever else during a
defensive turn if a character does not have any revival cards.

* Although the boss will only have around 3000 HP left, it will
take a while to whittle it down due to the healing and the need
to play a defensive strategy. Don't get impatient. It took a
while, but my second attempt with the modified decks was easy -
it just took a while.

1. After the usual scenes upon entry, talk to the woman walking around town
to get the signature of another Quzman relative.

[23/31] Wayshiyah

2. Talk to the guy at the top right to learn about the nearby chest. All you
need to do is look at the teleporters in town and keep using the one that

to receive [SIEGFRIED] as thanks.

3. Enter the house on the right side of town. Examine the blue cabinet near
the pots and choose to check inside to get [SLIGHT DEBT]. Then talk to
the guy beside the fire for some conversation on Xelha's pendant. You'll
get the [BROKEN EARTH SPHERE]. Talk to him again to get [BOOTES]. The
shelf all the way on the left has [PEANUTS].

4. You can get another animal by talking to the woman tending to the chickens.

[03/17] Clucker

5. The person near the shelf on the left gives you some background information
on why Mizuti set off from Gemma. Talk to the guy near the green lights to
find out that he's the sales clerk, and that he needs [RUBBER MUD] to fix
up the shop.

6. Leave and enter the left house for a scene with Mizuti's parents. After
that, check the green dresser in the middle to find a [LARGE TEAMUG], and
the fire for some [OAKWOOD].

7. Now go to the top of the town for another scene. Inside, you can speak to
the five attendants for some short background stories about the legend of
Malpercio. Either way, talk to the thing in the middle to progress the
story. I chose "Nice to meet you" at the prompt.

8. Finally, save at the blue flower and exchange your Constellation Magnus:

3. Cross the bridge, and open the three chests on the left for a [FULL PLATE],
a [WHITECAP SHIELD], and a [PURPLE ROSE]. Note that one of the chests is
slightly hidden behind the corner of the building.

4. Enter the building and examine the pedestal for some scenes and we're done

5. Return to Gemma and give the shopkeeper the [RUBBER MUD] so that he can
reopen his shop, which has a great selection of Magnus. You will also get
a [POWER BLADE] and a [SACRED HELM] as thanks.

1. The shop in this town doesn't have anything useful, so just head up the
stairs and enter the rightmost door. Inside, check the book in the right
corner for [CASSIOPEIA], then exit and enter the left door.

2. Here, the barrels next to the kitchen hold some [CURRY], and you can get
[DIVORCE PAPERS] if you examine the book in the top left corner. Exit and
enter the door on the left side of town.

3. There will be a brief scene. After that, get [ARIES] from the barrels in

1. The solutions to the puzzles can be found in any walkthrough. The chests
are obvious and in your path.

2. Eventually, you'll reach the red save flower. Fill Mizuti's deck with the
strongest armor available, particularly Fire and Aqua-elemental. You can
include 3 or 4 strong Aqua spells, but no more. Keep the set of 3 or 4
[SACRED WINE] as usual, and possibly add some extra healing.

3. Definitely equip Savyna with the [FIREDRAKE BARRETTE], and fill her deck
with the strongest Aqua attack Magnus available, including finishers. Also
include strong non-elemental attack cards. Fill the rest of the slots with
revival and healing cards. Don't bother with armor.

4. As for Lyude, fill his deck with revival, strong healing, and stat boosts,
and if you have any space left, the strongest armor still available.

5. Go up to the final floor, complete the easy puzzle, and get ready for
another tough battle!

* In terms of difficulty, this battle is the opposite of the one
against Angel of Darkness - starts off very difficult, then
becomes laughably easy.

* The most important thing in this battle is the turn order. You
need an order where at least one, but MUCH preferably two of
your characters get turns between the attacks of the bosses.
The reason for this is that if both of their attacks KO someone
back to back, then you are left with only one character and you
will not be able to keep up with the revival and healing.

* You need to eliminate Aygo (the red one) as soon as possible,
because that's the one who will be wrecking your party. It can
boost its attack power and then attack in the same turn. Only
Mizuti can survive that, provided you defend and form a nice
defensive combo.

* Ungyo (the blue one) is not that dangerous on his own, but his
attacks certainly don't make it easier to keep up with revival
and healing.

* Mizuti should do nothing but heal and defend. If you included
a few Aqua spells, use them only once his deck is almost out,
and try to go for a combo on Agyo.

* Lyude needs to be on 100% revival and healing duty. If you put
some armors into his deck, note that he CAN survive some of
Ungyo's attacks, which gets a free turn for someone else. DO
NOT HEAL LYUDE, it's a waste of a turn.

* Savyna will be your main damage dealer. If she is at full HP,
then she can survive every attack except for Agyo's boosted one.
If you haven't been chaining combos up to now, then this is the
time to seriously begin.

* Make sure you take a photo of Agyo at some point before it is
defeated. Once Agyo is gone, sit back and relax because there
is nothing that can happen to you. Even if you don't defend,
Ungyo's attack will KO at most only one character per round,
letting you revive another, and attack with Savyna. Note that
it will take seemingly forever to whittle down his 7000 HP with
the Aqua-based attacks in her deck, but there is no danger of
losing.

'-------------------------------------------------------------------'

6. There will be some scenes again and then you'll be on the world map. Kalas
will be forced into your party for the next boss fight, so take a moment
to fill his deck with... all your [CAMERA] Magnus. Fill the other slots
with healing and some of his strongest weapons. Save your game, then enter
Algorab Village for a few more scenes. Choose "Yeah, let's go back and
help them" at the prompt.

* A refreshing, super easy battle! I missed those at this point.

* The most important thing here is to have Kalas snap as many
photos as possible of Mizuti. This is the only battle where two
of her photos are available, and one of them is not guaranteed.

* I had Mizuti defend/revive the entire time just in case. Savyna
can take care of the boss on her own. Your pace will slow down
a bit once he starts absorbing HP, but you should be able to
outdamage this between castings. It also gives you more time to
snap those photos.

* I had about 30 photos after the battle, of which 5 where the
Mega Rare Mizuti, so it's not really THAT rare. Don't forget to
snap a photo of Malpercio, of course.

'-------------------------------------------------------------------'

7. More scenes will follow. Once you regain control, re-enter Algorab and
open the chest at the back of the alley for an [INFERNO CANNON]. Then
head back to Gemma and speak to one of the guys near the stairs to get
the [SUN ANKLET].

8. Finally, head to Duhr Port and climb onto the white dragon. You'll
automatically be taken to Corellia's palace. Talk with all the rulers to
progress the events. I chose "Okay, if you say so." at the prompt.

LOOSE ENDS BEFORE THE END-GAME (s41)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
[] Crimson Oak Bl. [] Light Flare IV [] Golden Bugle [] Aurora
[] Silver Ash

1. Before you head off to Sadal Suud, take a moment to complete some more
sidequests which we could not do before. You can also exchange another set
of Constellation Magnus. You should get a [PENDULUM BLAST] for completing
the Zodiac.

[41/50] [ARIES] > [GIRLISH BIRDIE]
[42/50] [CASSIOPEIA] > [HAIR AFTERCARE]
[43/50] [GEMINI] > [SHORTCAKE (LARGE)]

2. Grab 2 [SECRET INFORMATION] from the maid in the right chamber and head to
Opu. Give one of them to the woman wearing red near the waterfall to get a
[CRIMSON OAK BLOSSOM]. Hold on to the other [SECRET INFORMATION] to age it.

3. Climb the somewhat hidden ladder on the very left of the screen to get on
top of the houses. Check the waterfall to catch a Waterlark. After that,
go to the Celestial Tree and catch a pigeon.

[04/17] Waterlark
[05/17] Pigeon

4. Get some [RUBBER MUD] from Capella, then fly to Cursa and give it to the
girl on the skates. You'll get a [LIGHT FLARE IV] in return. You can age
another [RUBBER MUD] while you're at it.

5. You should have the [WARRIOR'S MEMORIES] at this point. Give them to the
2 women to get a [GOLDEN BUGLE].

6. Now fly to Pherkad and visit Quzman. You can now get [NAUGHTY NOVEL] from
the dresser to the left of the bed, and [TERRIBLE PAINTING] from the cabi-
-net on the right. Give one of those paintings to Misjah to get an [UNPOP-
-ULAR PAINTING] - age this for 40 hours for the [TREASURED PAINTING]. Talk
to Yamin to get a signature and then collect some rewards from Quzman:

[24/31] Bajja
Bloodline of Usaybia > [AURORA]
Family of Wayshiya > [SILVER ASH]

7. Time to get more animals. Speak to the guy outside Quzman's house to adopt
a Cloudgull, then go to Cebalrai and get a Prancer from the man in the
stable. Exit and re-enter, then talk to him again to get a Pow. Finally,
talk with the little girl tending to the ducks to get 3 different types:

[06/17] Cloudgull
[07/17] Prancer
[08/17] Pow
[09/17] Fantail Duckling
[10/17] Fantail Duck (Small)
[11/17] Fantail Duck (Regular)

8. Enter Larikush's house to trigger some scenes. The Celestial Alps are our
next stop.

_____________________________________________________________________________
CELESTIAL ALPS (Kalas) (s42)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
[] Canis Minor [] Canis Major [] Apocalypse Sw. [] Air Slash
[] Chaos Mail [] Azure Sand

1. Open the clearly visible chest to get [CANIS MINOR]. You will be able to
get [CANIS MAJOR] as a drop from the Badwin enemies here.

2. Try to head upward to trigger a tentacle bursting from the ground. This
will happen several more times in this area - what you have to do is find
and fight the bug that is causing it.

3. Note that you don't actually have to defeat the monsters, it's sufficient
to trigger the battle, escape, and change screens. The monster will be
gone. These battles can be tough, especially if you face 3 enemies, so you
can resort to this trick if you want. Keep in mind that this is the easiest
way to encounter Rulug, which drops [AQUA TRUTH], which you'll want for
Kalas' final Magnus inventory. The other enemies only rarely include Rulug
in their formations.

4. Anyway, once you've defeated this monster, you can continue to the next
screen. Since the battles can be a quick game over if you get attacked by
3 enemies, I suggest you make your way to the right until you reach the
red save flower, and then backtrack for the remaining treasure chests one
at a time.

5. You'll find an [APOCALYPSE SWORD], an [AIR SLASH], and a [CHAOS MAIL] in
the chests.

6. At the save flower, capture a white Caplin from the herd, as well as the
black one hiding on the left.

[12/17] Caplin (White)
[13/17] Caplin (Black)

7. Finally, open the chest to the right of the cabin to find [AZURE SAND].
If you've been keeping your characters at Class Lv 3, then this will now
be a major turning point. With Kalas at max Class Lv, you can now unleash
Sunrise combos to deal several thousand points of damage, which will cut
down pretty much everything up to the final boss. However, you will need
60 cards for your deck, so it's time to start farming. Luckily, you can
already begin getting cards for your final inventory:

* [DIMENSION BLADE] - Ghoulish Skirmisher, Capella
* [AQUA JACKET] - Iron Beetle II, Imperial Fortress / Flobo, Gomeisa
* [SACRED HELM] - Ghoulish Skirmisher, Capella

8. It just so happens that these three are also the ones that are critical
for the upcoming boss battle. You can also farm [EFREETI SABER] from Badwin
and [AQUA TRUTH] from Rulug, but it will be tough with your current Magnus.

9. For the fight, fill Kalas' deck with the three cards above, as well as any
non-healing Magnus with 9's. The [BROKEN HEAVEN SWORD] is guaranteed to
have a 9, but you should preferably have a [CAMERA III] and a [VOICE V] with
9' as well. Also include some Combo 1 weapons since the [DIMENSION BLADE]
is Combo 2.

10. Fill up Savyna and Mizuti with Light and Aqua armor, as well as plenty
[SACRED WINE]. Don't bother with any offensive Magnus. For equipment,
use the [PLATINUM BUCKLE], [FIREDRAKE BARRETTE], and [CINDERELLA BIRDIE].

* It might seem like this should be impossible or incredibly hard,
but with Kalas at Class Lv 6 and plenty of [DIMENSION BLADE],
you can knock out Folon and Ayme with just 1 Sunrise combo each,
maximum 2 of they defend too much.

* Giacomo will require at least 2 combos, possibly 3. In any case,
the battle becomes very easy once you've taken one of them out,
so make either Ayme or Folon your first target.

* Giacomo attacks with Fire, Folon with Dark and Chrono, and Ayme
with Dark and Wind, so use armor Magnus accordingly. If you've
farmed the stronger Magnus, then you should be able to block a
very large percentage of their damage, especially if you've
become proficient at forming combos.

* Note that even Kalas can survive their attacks, but I suggest
you let him take the hit and save the cards in his hand if they
are good for a Sunrise combo. Simply revive him right after so
that he can UNLEASH THE PAINNNN (haha) in retaliation.

* Believe it or not, you'll have to fight this battle TWICE. But
it shouldn't be an issue as long as you can pull off those Sun-
rise combos early.

11. As usual, there will some scenes after the battle and you'll be whisked
away back to Corellia's palace. Ask to hear all the reports.

12. Save in another slot just in case, because these scenes have progressed
the story into the end-game.

[] Holy Armor [] Straw [] Void Phantom [] Erbschaft Shield

1. At this point you can do the character-specific sidequests in any order,
as well as any remaining minor quests. I suggest getting all the minor
stuff out of the way now so that you get some stronger Magnus.

2. First off, speak to the soldier guarding the left chamber to finally get
that second item he was talking about: a [FAIRY BARRETTE].

3. Go to Anuenue Port and talk with the wife of the old guy who wanted to see
the shrine procession. Agree to help her, then speak to Corellia to start
your search for the shrine bearers. Here's a list:

* Snail woman on the left inside the palace
* Guy on the bridge outside the palace
* Teacher in the west wing of the school
* Snail woman in the reading room of the east wing
* Guy in blue near the walkway in the first screen of Komo Mai
* Guy in black dancing near the entrance to town

4. Once you've recruited them all, return to the old woman, then run back to
the area outside the palace and talk to her there. Finally, return to her
house and speak to the old man to receive a [RAINBOW ASH].

5. There are some more mini-quests in Anuenue: The boy in the hallway of the
school's west wing wants to see [SNOW], and will give you a [LIGHT FLARE V]
as thanks. Later on, he will ask for something to warm his cold legs: give
him a [HOT ROCK] to receive an [ERBSCHAFT SHIELD]. The old woman in the
house with the ducks needs [ROCK SALT] for her backache, and will reward
you with [DELUXE COOKIES]. And last, a guy at the Celestial Tree wants
[APPLE VINEGAR] in exchange for a [FLUGEL SHIELD]. You can now get
[MOUNTAIN APPLE WINE] from the bar in Pherkad, so just age that instead of
starting with the apples.

6. While you're in Pherkad, re-visit Rodolfo's mansion to finally open that
chest on the roof - it contains a [MOON BUCKLE]. You'll also find an
[INTRIGUING MYSTERY] at the end of the long walkway up there, and if you
speak to the maid in the second room from the left, you'll get an animal:

[14/17] Koa Monkey

7. Next stop is Diadem. First enter the castle and get an essence of the
royal crest. Show it to the guard on the left of the double doors leading
to the royal chamber to get another [RAINBOW ASH].

8. Back in town, give [MOUNTAIN APPLE WINE] to one of the men sitting around
the bonfire to receive a [FLASH ARMOR].

9. Enter Nashira and then the house on the right to trigger the scenes for
Gibari's side-quest. Leave that for later and instead do the three mini-
quests here: The woman on the walkway leading to the warehouse wants to
see a [CLOUD], and will give you a [POPULAR PICK-UP LINE]. In the bar, the
woman sitting at the first table will give you [SECRET RECIPE 9] in exch-
-ange for [MOUNTAIN APPLE WINE]. Finally, the guy in blue at the same
table will hand over the [CREEL OF THE WHALE] if you fetch him some [SECRET
INFORMATION].

10. Don't bother with the woman at the right-most table. She will take money
from you indefinitely and nothing happens after she's robbed you blind.

11. Moving on to Mira. You'll get a scene every time you fly here, but for
now choose to run. In Balancoire you will find two more animals in the
waterway:

[15/17] Paulywhale
[16/17] Hograt

12. The woman cooking in the first house needs regular [SALT] and will give
you [PORK RIBS] as thanks. Speak to Trill's parents to find out they need
[SEA BREAM FILET], and help them out to get a [WIZARD ROBE].

13. You can also complete the museum side-quest at this point. Speak with the
curator to trigger the quest, then bring the following four items to
receive the [BROKEN BIRDIE] as thanks:

* [THUNDERFISH BONE] - Lesser Celestial River
* [GOLDEN PICKAXE] - you can finally get rid of it
* [ADVENTURE NOVEL]   - Gemma
* [DELINQUENCY STONE] - Zosma Tower, B1

14. The school group in the front hall is a similar one. Talk to all of them
and enter the rooms upstairs. When you return to the hall, the kids should
be out of control. Time to help the caretaker, so off you go to fetch more
items:

* [PICTURE BOOK] - Imperial Fortress (for the kid on the piano)
* [POW MILK] - Cebalrai (for the kid running around)
* [SNOW] - Gomeisa (for the girl on the handrail)
* [ROASTED BIRD] - Parnasse oven (for the kid at the pool)

Get the [SNOW] last since it melts quickly. Once you've given all the
children what they want, exit and re-enter the room and speak to the
caretaker to receive [FIREDRAKE FISTS] as thanks.

15. There's nothing to do in Alfard except Savyna's sidequest, so fly to Wazn.
You can speak to the sculptor in the left-most house for a scene, and you
can also encourage the old person standing on the stairs leading to the
castle. As far as I know, neither of these events result in anything, but
they are unique.

16. Now return to the Celestial Alps to wrap up things there. At the entrance
you'll meet two Quzman family members. Push the fat woman up the hill to
get their signatures:

[25/31] Al-Kathib
[26/31] Al-Rumi

17. Enter and loot the cabin. In the main room, you'll find an [ELFREETI
SABER] in a chest, a [SILK VEIL] on the statue above the fireplace, and
an [AVOCADO] in the hanging pot on the left. The left storage room has a
chest with the [SKULL BUCKLE]. The box next to it contains [MILK], and
the chest next to that has a [HOLY ARMOR]. Climb the ladder to find some
[STRAW]. Finally, go to the right storage room to find a chest with the
[VOID PHANTOM].

18. And with that, you should have completed all those annoying fetch quests
and leftover treasures. Time for the character-specific sidequests.

1. Yaaaaaawn, this place is terrible.

2. The enemies in this area do not respawn, so you can either keep them all
untouched, or clear out the area. You will need to fight at least one
battle in order to find a Quzman family member, and you'll want the photos
too, so I suggest clearing out all the rooms for completion. You can save
the game at red save flower before the boss, so save between each battle
since it's easy to get a game over here against formations of three.

4. Xelha will be forced into your party for the next battle, so you may as
well give her the Class Up treatment at this point. Fill her deck with as
many spells as possible, especially Wind. You probably won't have enough
to fill all 60 slots, but keep the rest empty since Pass Magnus CAN be
used as a part of a combo without ending the turn. I wouldn't spend too
much time farming Lv 5 spells since they will become redundant very soon.
Make sure to include all your offensive Magnus that have a 9.

5. As before, load up Mizuti and Savyna with armor and revival Magnus and
HP-boosting equipment.

is defend with Savyna and Mizuti, and attack with Xelha. The

2. Some of the battles here are mandatory. Use Kalas as your glass cannon

1. This area is pretty linear so just avoid the enemies and loot the chests
as you come across them. The [CORVUS] Constellation Magnus is hidden in
the narrow crevice on the right side of the last screen.

2. For the boss, you'll want to use Kalas and Mizuti - Gibari is mandatory.
Since you probably don't have strong enough Fire armor, I suggest you just
fill up Gibari's and Mizuti's decks with plenty of healing and revival.
You can give Mizuti the strongest armor you have for the remaining slots.
Kalas should be 100% offense and optimized for Sunrise combos.

1. This dungeon is a bit problematic. The Master Revenant enemies inside do
not respawn, and they are the only source of unlimited quantities of several
Magnus, namely [FLUGEL SHIELD] and [VARNA HORN]. The latter is not so
critical, but you will definitely want as many as possible of the former for
your final card inventory. The problem is that you can't save inside, and
you can't leave either. It's unrealistic to expect every formation to drop a
[FLUGEL SHIELD], much less with specific Spirit Numbers, so you'll need to
decide for yourself how to handle this.

2. The area itself is identical to the original Goldoba, so just re-visit all
the rooms to see all the scenes and collect all the treasure. Note that
the boss battle is triggered when you re-enter the main hallway after
all the scenes have played out. So do not leave the enemies in the hallway
for last.

3. The boss can inflict Sleep, which can actually be very dangerous. So boost
Sleep resistance by equipping the [AMETHYST EARRINGS], [GOLDEN ANKLET],
AND [GIRLIE BIRDIE]. Yes, I used Xelha instead of Kalas since I had many
Light Flare Magnus, but you can use Kalas if you prefer. Give Mizuti all
the strongest armor, especially Light-based, and some revival and healing.
Lyude should have nothing but healing and revival, and Xelha nothing but
spells and cards with 9's.

* Haven't we fought this guy twice already? Anyway, this boss is
slightly harder than the previous ones due to his attack Symbol
of Slumber, which can put a character to Sleep. But with the

* Mizuti should prioritize defending and let Lyude do the healing
and revival. Try to save revival Magnus in Mizuti's hand for an

1. This is a slightly more interesting area and sidequest than the previous
ones. You'll have the usual scenes upon entry, and then you can start
looting these poor survivors (again).

2. The chest on the right contains the [DRAGON PLUM BUD]. Examine the boxes
on the right for a [ROOSTER] and the barrels in the middle for the
[CENTAURUS] Constellation. Exit and open the chest outside to find the
[SKULL BARRETTE].

3. Note that the guy sitting on the rug inside runs a shop. You can get two
unique items from him: another [SHAMPOO] and another [DELUXE PASTRY]. Note
that these two items do NOT get restocked like the others, and that this
shop will disappear once this sidequest is completed!

4. Anyway, clear out your Quest Magnus slots and stock up on [PRISTINE WATER]
from the pots at the bottom left of the screen, save on the world map, and
climb through the hole on the left to head into the desert.

5. Rather than giving you directions, here's a map. You consume 1 [PRISTINE
WATER] every time you change screens, and you are thrown out once you have
no water left. This applies even if you use your last water to enter a
screen with an oasis.

8. For the boss battle, use the same party and Magnus as for the trio battle
in the Celestial Alps. So that means Kalas, Savyna, and Mizuti, with Light
and Aqua armor for the latter two, and the strongest weapons for Kalas.
Plenty of revival too for Savyna and Mizuti.

* Very easy! Just use the same strategy as for all the previous
battles, i.e. Savyna and Mizuti constantly defend and revive,
while Kalas pumps out Sunrise combos. The battle will be over
before you know it.

9. And that's it, all the character sidequests are completed! Coincidentally,
you should also be able to complete the other game-long sidequests now as
well, so let's wrap those up real quick:

10. Fly to Wazn and speak to the woman who wanted a zoo. You'll receive an
[ENDEAVORING WOMAN] Magnus and the [PEGASUS ANKLET] for Xelha!

11. Now that Zuhr has signed, fly to Nunki Valley to *finally* get that guy
under the waterfall to walk a few steps to Pherkad. Follow him and talk
to him at Quzman's house to get the signature for Maja. Also talk to
Tumart until he signs for Kemal.

[29/31] Asakir
[30/31] Maja
[31/31] Kemal

Bloodline of Maja > [ENDEAVORING WOMAN]

12. And that completes the Family Tree! Or does it? Bah, head back into the
Zosma Tower, grab a [DELINQUENCY STONE], then hoof it up to 4F to find
the true last family member. Give him the stone to get the signature.

[32/31] Rabbih

13. Return to Quzman for the final scenes, then speak to his wife to receive
a [FAIRY SHIELD]. Finally done with this. You can keep the Family Tree in
your inventory if you like.

14. Last but not least, let's hand in those last few Constellation Magnus to
complete the Star Map:

[44/50] [CENTAURUS] > [DRAGON CLAWS]
[45/50] [CANIS MINOR] > [OMETEOTL GEAR]
[46/50] [CANIS MAJOR] > [KUSANAGI BLADE]
[47/50] [CORVUS] > [DEVIL KNIGHT SHIELD]
[48/50] [ERIDANUS] > [MATURE BIRDIE]
[49/50] [AQUILA] > [RARE ACTION FIGURE]

15. The guy reconstructing the Star Map actually holds the last Constellation.
Talk to him and choose the following to get [CETUS].

"I'd like info on the fragments"
"Ask for information"
"Of course I do"
"He deserves to complete it"

[50/50] [CETUS] > [THE FOOL]

16. Note that the Tarot card changes every 3 seconds, so just open and close
the menu a few times to get all the cards into your Gathering.

17. Now's a good time to also do the rest of the SP combos. You can perform
all of them by now.

18. Either way, it's time to open up Cor Hydrae, so return to Corellia's
Palace, speak to her, and confirm that you're ready. Events will follow
and you will be inside Cor Hydrae, the final area in the game.

[] Wind Blow VI [] Wind Blow VI [] Fire Burst VI [] Aqua Burst VI
[] Esperanza [] Firefly [] Brahma Eupho [] Mermaid Nails
[] Venus Garb [] Sybil's Crown [] Shield of Hope [] Desperda
[] Voice VI [] Lord of the Wind

1. Note that you can leave Cor Hydrae at any time by returning to this screen
and going to the bottom. You will get a prompt asking whether you want to
fly out.

2. Loot the two treasures at the entrance for a [CHRONOS BLOW VI] and a [FIRE
BURST VI], then continue onward to reach the hub room with a save point.

3. At this point you can farm all the ultimate weapons and armor. You don't
actually need any of it to reach the final save point, but you will need
lots of ultimate armor for the final boss.

4. All the bosses here are elemental-based, so you can use the exact same
party and the exact same strategy to defeat all of them. I used Xelha,
Savyna, and Mizuti. Xelha's deck was always filled 100% with the strongest
non-opposing spells and attack Magnus with 9's. Since the bosses here can
attack only once per round, you can get by with just filling Savyna and
Mizuti's decks with revival Magnus. But you can include the strongest
armor as well, just make sure there is enough revival so that you can
revive every round if needed. Adjust the elements of the spells and armor
accordingly between each boss. Make sure you include [CAMERA] Magnus.

5. For equipment, I used the [GOLDEN ANKLET], [FIREDRAKE BARRETTE], and
[GIRLISH BIRDIE]. You want Xelha to be slow enough so that she acts *after*
Savyna and Mizuti. That way if she is knocked out, the other two can revive
her and she can still attack immediately after in the same round. So don't
use the [PEGASUS ANKLET].

6. The order in which you complete the area doesn't really matter. You'll
sometimes find lights that trigger the appearance of chests in other areas,
though, so you may have to backtrack.

7. Note that you can avoid many of the battles here, even the ones on the
narrow paths leading out from the hub. Simply time your run properly and
hug the edge of the path.

8. Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid the fights against the Diabolos
enemies on the middle path. As far as I can tell you will always face
formations of three and two in that hallway, and the worst part is that
you have to go through it twice - once on the way to the boss, and once
again on your way back to the save point. The boss is easy, but making it
through those battles on the way is not.

9. You should also be careful upon exiting the boss chambers, as the entrances
are patrolled by those large Apollion enemies.

10. The areas here are mostly linear and the boss battles are all the same,
so instead of detailing each one separately, here's the general strategy
for completion's sake:

____________________ ____________
,-/ SIBLING GOD: [] /-------------------------------/ HP: 14000 /-.
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

* The bosses only attack once per round. As a result, you don't
even have to defend. One character is knocked out, another one
revives, and the third attacks.

* I used Xelha as the glass cannon since she could better exploit
the elemental weaknesses. But Kalas can also be used.

* Savyna and Mizuti should be able to survive an attack if they
have access to good armor and you can form Straights or Pairs
consistently. Otherwise just revive them with the other. Even
if you use armor, be sure to carry lots of revival Magnus so
that both of the supporters can revive anyone at any time.

* The bosses can heal when they get low on HP, but it's only a
little over 2,000 HP - that should be no match for your Sunrise
combos dealing at least twice as much.

'-------------------------------------------------------------------'

11. Once you've defeated all the Sibling Gods, the teleporter in the main hub
room will become active. Adjust your equipment to boost Sleep resistance,
then save your game.

* I'm sorry to say that this battle is very easy as long as you
have decent Sleep resistance. Just use the same strategy as for
the Sibling Gods.

'-------------------------------------------------------------------'

2. And with that we have reached the final save point, which is on the next
screen to the right.

3. Run up the stairs and avoid the enemies. You'll find the very last chest
in the game, which contains the [GOLDEN HELM].

4. If you haven't filled up your Gathering and your final deck inventory,
then that's all that's left to do. You can also Class Up everyone else at
this point if you haven't done so yet.

5. I won't cover the true final battle, try to win it yourself. It's really
not that hard, you just need very good armor, and you should be quite
proficient with forming Straights. Good luck.
