So, here I am, writing a guide for a rather difficult to control fighting game. I'm hoping that the moves in this work since anyone who has played a Game.Com knows that the D-Pad not the most responsive. I played this damn thing all day to try and get it right. Hopefully I did. And hopefully it'll be helpful to someone. ________________________________________________________________________________ COURSES In the game, you will have to choose different courses on which to fight. These courses will then determine just which characters you unlock. It doesn't matter what difficulty settings you complete the courses on. The courses are simply a list of different fighters. They are as follows: --[ Course A ]------------------------------------------[ Unlock : Kids Sarah]-- Round: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Bahn Candy Pai Sanman Janet Akira Strategy: The easiest way to win these battles on all difficulties is to simply use low kicks. Kick them into the corner and just keep kicking the hell out of them. Sure, it's cheap, but it works. --[ Course B ]----------------------------------------------[ Unlock : Janet ]-- Round: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Akira Lion Mahler Bahn Sanman Kids Sarah Strategy: The easiest way to win these battles on all difficulties is to simply use low kicks. Kick them into the corner and just keep kicking the hell out of them. Sure, it's cheap, but it works. --[ Course C ]---------------------------------------------[ Unlock : Hornet ]-- Round: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Lion Pai Siba Candy Jacky Mahler Strategy: The easiest way to win these battles on all difficulties is to simply use low kicks. Kick them into the corner and just keep kicking the hell out of them. Sure, it's cheap, but it works. --[ Course D ]-------------------------------------------------[ Unlock Siba ]-- Round: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Mahler Sanman Pai Akira Bahn Hornet Strategy: The easiest way to win these battles on all difficulties is to simply use low kicks. Kick them into the corner and just keep kicking the hell out of them. This only works up to Hornet, though. During the Hornet battle, you will have to use high kicks to take them out easily. ________________________________________________________________________________ CHARACTERS/MOVELISTS All of the fighters in Fighter's Megamix have these moves in common: A - Punch (P or p) B - Kick (K or k) C - Guard (G)* D - Evade (E)* * Note that I am using Guard and Evade rather than Block and Dodge for readability reasons. U (U, u) Jump, Rise +-+ (UB, ub) Jump back, rise and fall back UB / | | \ UF (UF, uf) Jump forward, rise and step forward +--+ +--+ (B, b) Back off, step back B | | F (F, f, f+F) Walk forward, step forward, Run forward +--+ +--+ (DB, db) Duck and lose ground, duck and step back DB \ | | / DF (DF, df) Duck and recover ground, duck and step forward +-+ (D, d) Duck D The capitalization denotes whether it is a tap of a held button. For example: D+k, k Low Double-Kick Press and hold Down while tapping Kick twice. If there is a comma (,), it means in quick succession. If there is a period (.) then is means to wait a second before finishing the combo. So far as I can tell, there are only one or two special moves that are different between characters. Those moves are listed in the movelist. The common moves are listed below: +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ High Kick k or K Basic kick High Punch p or P Basic punch Low Kick D+K or D+k This is the surefire way to win and unlock all characters. The only character that this does not work well against is Hornet. Low Punch D+p or D+p This is not as effective as the kick. Jump Kick U+K or U+k Basic jump kick Sounding Fury U+P+K This is annoying to pull off, but it will stun your opponent for a couple of hits. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dodge D+E Simple evasion Guard G Simple block --[ Akira ]----------------------------------------------------------[ Akira ]-- Full Name: Akira Yuki Sex : Male Birthday : September 23 Hobby : Kung-Fu Nationality : Japanese Fighting Style : Hakkyoku-Ken Has Armor: No Game: Virtua Fighter The legendary master of Hakkyoku-ken, Akira Yuki returns to the VF competition in search of polishing his martial arts skills so that he may, when the time comes, pass the knowledge he has learned to his students. Akira remains one of the most well-balanced fighters in the group. Never a punch or kick wasted. Akira uses patience to overcome his adversaries. Strategies when using Akira: Concentrate on low kicks and the fast triple punch to take out your enemies. It's the easiest way since none of the computer AI characters defend against low attacks. Strategies when fighting Akira: Concentrate on low attacks. He will not defend himself, but will often attack you with a single jump kick (knocking you down, even from a crouch) and then following up with a fast triple punch. Be ready to guard when you see him in the air. Then take him out with a low kick. +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Gekihousul U+p,p Make sure that they are nowhere near you when you try to execute this move or they will take you out with a simple high kick. Fast Triple Punch D+p,p,p This will do a small amount of damage, but it is an extremely fast attack. --[ Pai ]--------------------------------------------------------------[ Pai ]-- Full Name: Pai Sex : Female Birthday : May 17 Hobby : Dancing Occupation : Action Film Star Nationality : Chinese (Hong Kong) Fighting Style : Ensei-Ken has Armor: No Game: Virtua Fighter Even though Pai is Lau’s daughter, there is little love between the two - while Lau pursued his obsessive search for perfection, Pai’s mother toiled so hard to support the family that she died of exhaustion. Pai never forgave Lau for her mother’s death, and swore she would someday beat Lau at his own game. Though she didn’t have what it took to defeat him in the last tournament, this time she’s armed with a few new techniques that might just knock Lau out of the champion’s position. And with Lau out of the way, the others should fall like dominoes. Strategies when using Pai: Keep your distance and use the dash attack to take down the opponents life. If they get close, just concentrate on low kicks to distance yourself from them. Once they hit the floor, back up and prepare your dash attack. Strategies when fighting Pai: Concentrate on low kicks. Her kicks are nearly ineffectual, but she has a pretty good reach with her punches. Just make sure to guard when you see her powering up for her attack. The guard will take the brunt of most of the damage, though you can't block it completely. +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ f, F+K Dash attack Only perform this move when you are quite a distance from your opponent. Then, follow up with some low kicks to take them down easily. This is an unblockable attack. --[ Lion ]------------------------------------------------------------[ Lion ]-- Full Name: Lion Sex : Male Birthday : December 24 Occupation : High School Student Hobby : Collecting Knives Nationality : French Fighting Style : Toru-ken/Seven Stars Mantis Fist Has Armor: No Game: Virtua Fighter He is born into the Rafale family, one of the most wealthy families in France. They are involved in the aircraft industry. Lion has been practicing Toruken under an instructor as part of management education since he was five. Lion Rafale continues trying to prove to his father that he is worthy of the Rafale last name. Undaunted, Lion continues to bewilder his opponents with his strange, but effective Tourou-ken art of fighting. Lion works well played as an offensive fighter, utilizing blistering speed to his advantage. Strategies when using Lion: Concentrate on his triple punch and low kicks to take care of your opponents. Don't worry much about using the quick jab since its range will usually assure that you'll get kicked in the head. Keeping low will assure you the win. Strategies when fighting Lion: For some reason the AI likes to use his slow kicks on all difficulties. I have no idea why it has such bad AI, but I attribute it to lax programmers. All you have to do is keep low and punch him in the nads. He'll go down quick. And easy. Every now and again, the AI will take control of its senses and try and perform a quick jab on you. Kick them in the head since his reach won't make it (unless you're using Pai's kick). +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Quick Jab B+p, p Make sure that they are close or this move will miss. Triple Punch p, p, p Nice and quick does the trick. --[ Jacky ]----------------------------------------------------------[ Jacky ]-- Full Name: Jacky Sex : Male Birthday : August 28 Hobby : Training Occupation : Indy Car Racer Nationality : American Fighting Style : Jeet Kune Do Has Armor: No Game: Virtua Fighter One fateful day, hotshot race driver and Jeet Kune Do master Jacky Bryant was separated from his sister, Sarah, when she was kidnapped by an underground syndicate. After years of searching, he learned that Sarah was being trained for combat and was considered tops in the art of Jeet Kune Do. When the first World Fighting Tournament was announced, Jacky took the challenge in the hopes of finding and rescuing Sarah from the syndicate. But once a winner was declared, Sarah vanished. Jacky spent the next year training for the ensuing bout he knew would come. Strategies when using Jacky: Just use his signature kicks and punches to take out the opponents quickly and easily. Strategies when fighting Jacky: Concentrate on low attacks since the AI likes to make use of his high punches and kicks. When combating a human opponent, continue to concentrate on low attacks since his attacks are mostly upper body ones. +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Quad Fury p, p, p, p This does some good damage as long as you can make it hit. Triple Kick k, k, k Another big pull, as long as they don't duck or guard. --[ Bahn ]------------------------------------------------------------[ Bahn ]-- Full Name: Banh Sex: Male Birthday: August 25 Hometown: Nishino Machi Occupation: High School Student Hobby: Karate Likes: Ramen Dislikes: Western Food Has Armor: Yes Game: Fighting Vipers Bahn, the “One Blow” Fighting Boss, joins the Vipers as an ex-gang member in search of the father who abandoned he and his mother...and he is not necessarily seeking a happy reunion. Beware of his powerful standing punches including “Super Straight” and “Hiji Teppou.” Strategies when using Banh: Watch your armor and guard against all upper body attacks. Concentrate on your lower punches. I'd recommend not using his Hiji Teppou attack since it is extremely easy to kick out of the air. Strategies when fighting Banh: Watch for his Hiji wind-up and kick him out of the air. Otherwise, just keep to your low attacks (like on all opponents except for Hornet). +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Super Straight D+p This move can be done repeatedly. Just make sure that you are close to the enemy. You will inch backwards as you perform this move, so make sure that they are moving toward you. Hiji Teppou U+p,p This will stomp the life out of your opponent, but it is an attack for close-range. --[ Candy ]----------------------------------------------------------[ Candy ]-- Full Name: Candy Sex: Female Birthday: September 3 Hometown: Armstone City Occupation: Fashion School Student Hobby: Making Clothing Likes: Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream Dislikes: Carrots Has Armor: Yes Game: Fighting Vipers Candy, the “Cat Punch” Costume Play Girl, displays a “Dr. Jekyl-Mr. Hyde” characteristic when suited up and not-suited up in her handmade rubber dress. Her combination of kicks are especially harmful and especially effective when directed at the lower section. Strategies when using Candy: As far as I can tell, her charge attacks (which I've never gotten to complete since they take so long to perform) are only available in her rubber dress. That's okay, they just give them time to whollop your ass. Just keep your cat punch and kicks to take them out. Strategies when fighting Candy: Stay close and kick the hell out them. I've never seen her get her move off, even when I've sat back and let her try to complete it. +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Cat Punch D+p This is a quick punch that can be used repeatedly. Cat Kick D+k This is a quick kick that can be used repeatedly. --[ Sanman ]--------------------------------------------------------[ Sanman ]-- Full Name: Sanman Sex: Male Birthday: March 3 Hometown: Armstone City Hobby: Custom Bikes Likes: Sweets Dislikes: Garlic Has Armor: Yes Game: Fighting Vipers Nobody knows much about him, and he isn’t saying. The only things for sure is that he rolled up to the tournament on a big custom hog, and he has a strange fascination with the number 3. Sanman lets his fists do the rest of the talking for him. Strategies when using Sanman: Just punch and kick. There's no reason to use the strong punch. It's not worth much of anything. Strategies when fighting Sanman: Use low attacks. He never blocks and will be knocked out of his armor soon enough. +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Strong punch f,B+P This will smack them hard. --[ Mahler ]--------------------------------------------------------[ Mahlet ]-- Full Name: Mahler Sex: Male Birthday: January 20 Hometown: Armstone City Hobby: Windsurfing Likes: Mexican Food Dislikes: Seafood Has Armor: Yes Game: Fighting Vipers Mahler seems to have a score to settle with the mayor of Armstone, but nobody knows why he has entered the Vipers tournament. He hasn’t even bothered to officially register his name. Strategies when using Mahler: Again, another useless attacker. Just keep using low attacks. For some reason, he and Sanman are my least favorite characters to play. There's really no advantage other than strength. Strategies when fighting Mahler: Low attacks again. He'll never block. At all. +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Thrust Punch f, F+P This is just a long punch that does okay damage. --[ Kids Sarah ]------------------------------------------------[ Kids Sarah ]-- Full Name: Sarah Bryant Sex: Female Birthday: July 4, 1973 Nationality: America Hobby: Skydiving Technique: Sekken Do Speciality: Elbow and Knee strike, Barrage Attacks Has Armor: No Game: Virtua Fighter Kids This is simply Sarah from Virtua Fighter 3, only as a child. Her super- deformed head adds to the fun of giving a large target to smack around. Strategies when using Kid Sarah: She is fun to use, but her big head makes quite the target for others to hit, even when she's crouched. Unlike most characters, I like to rely on her special attack and her upper punches and kicks. Strategies when fighting Kid Sarah: Kick her in the head. It's her weakness. And what a big weakness it is... +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Jumping Twist Kick UL+k This is good for a distanced attack. Otherwise, it's useless. --[ Janet ]----------------------------------------------------------[ Janet ]-- Full Name: Janet Sex: Female Birthday: N/A Hometown: N/A Hobby: N/A Likes: Shooting thugs Dislikes: Being shot Game: Virtua Cop 2 Janet is better known for being a cop in Virtua Cop 2. She takes care of the slime on the streets and save innocent bystanders. Strategies when using Janet: Just use the gun blast when they're not close to you. It will hit them even if they're crouched. If they get close, use low kicks to get them away from you. Then shoot their asses. Strategies when fighting Janet: Stay close to them and just keep attacking them. If you let distance get between you and her, then she'll blow you away. Stay on the inside and take her out. +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Gun Blast b,F+P+K Nice, easy, and cheap attack. --[ Hornet ]--------------------------------------------------------[ Hornet ]-- Full Name: Hornet Sex: N/A Birthday: N/A Hometown: Daytona Beach Hobby: Racing Likes: Going fast Dislikes: Gravel Game: Daytona USA Hornet is the central car that you drive in Daytona USA. If you haven't played the game, find an arcade and hit the streets. It's a lot of fun. Strategies when using Hornet: Use the Run 'em Down attack. It's the best low attack in the game, and the only attack that Hornet has worth anything. Strategies when fighting Hornet: Use jump attacks only. If you try and use low attacks, it will run you down. Keep jumping and you'll be fine. +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Run 'em Down f,F+P --[ Siba ]------------------------------------------------------------[ Siba ]-- Full Name: Siba Sex: M Birthday: N/A Hometown: N/A Hobby: N/A Likes: N/A Dislikes: N/A Game: Virtua Fighter 1 (removed during testing) Siba was once in Virtua Fighter 1. For some reason, he was removed. That's pretty much the end of the story for him, except that they keep bringing him back in these megamixes... Strategies when using Siba: Siba sucks, what can I say? Like most characters in this game, use low attacks. The sword swipe isn't worth anything. Strategies when fighting Siba: Stay close and low. If you let him get some distance, he'll swipe you. You can't block it, but guarding will lessen the damage. +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ | Move Name | Button Combination | Notes | +--------------------+--------------------+--------------------------------+ Sword Swipe B+P A strong attack for taking care of close enemies. ________________________________________________________________________________ CREDITS AND THANKS --[ Main Thanks ]----------------------------------------------[ Main Thanks ]-- These are the people/things responsible for this guide.
