You have to track down a villain in each of the eight levels while bypassing the obstacles and cars placed before you. Your vehicle is totally indestructable, but you have a time limit. The obstacles' meaning is not to decrease your health, since you don't have one, but to slow you down. Speed past them to avoid losing a credit just because you didn't make it in time. Now, there is a boss in end of each level, and upon locating him, you will get a time boost. Then you will have to bump into him to damage his car. Repeat until the enemy's vehicle is totaled. In some cases, you will have a weapon to make your life easier. Points are awarded here to be used to buy body parts for your vehicle and turbo boosts. More information about the points and the shop is in the next section. You also have 3 'credits' to abuse during the game. Therefore, you can only 'die' three times. ----------- Game Screen ----------- ------------------------------------- | SCORE TIME SPEED | | 000000 080 000 MPH| | ///////// * SSS |O----------#|| | BOSS GEAR ^ DISTANCE | | DAMAGE | TO BOSS | | TURBO | | | | GAME SCREEN | | | | | | | | | | | ------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3) Points Layout ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You receive: -A point for every white dot on the sides you pass -10000 x the number of the stage you have just cleared -1000 x the number of seconds remaining when you clear a stage -10000 x the number of boosts still left after a stage clear -100 points for picking a money bag up (Level 2 only)* -200 points for passing a car -200+ points for every car you pass in a short period of time (if you pass the second car in a short period of time, you would receive 400 points instead. Third one would fetch you 600... and so on.) -200 points for a hit on the boss car* -Nothing more, nothing less. *Those numbers might be accurate, but give or take 100 or 200 points, they are close enough. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4) Parts Select ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After clearing a stage, you will be greeted by a point screen and watch your points rack up. Then you will be transferred to this screen, the "Parts Select" menu. Here you will be able to buy three different objects for your vehicle plus an ability to buy an extra boost for your next stage. Turbo --- 30000 Points --- An extra turbo can be used on the next stage** Tire --- 100000 Points --- Better handling Engine --- 200000 Points --- Makes your car 10 MPH faster. Body --- 300000 Points --- Upgrades your attack power on bosses. ** A boost will give you a 20 MPH boost for a short while. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5) Stage Walkthrough ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stage 1 ------------- Overall, the first stage is fairly easy. Dodge three cars and you will see a large box with a "T" inside. It's a time bonus, so pick it up before you miss it. After the fork, some barrels will be on the road, so keep an eye for those little ones. In the canyon-like area with lines all over the road, there will be several oil puddles on the road, drive away from those to avoid slipping. The boss here is incredibly easy compared to the future ones. Just wait until the boss is to the side of you and bump him like crazy. If you hit him from the behind, he will drive away for a while before coming back. Stage 2 ------------- In this oasis, you will see some money bags littered around the track. Pick them up if you wish, but they are not mandatory to pick up. You receive about 100 points by picking a money bag up. There are some 'bumper' spheres on the sides in this road, but as long you stay in the middle of the road, you should be alright. The boss here is a tad more faster than the previous one, but he's still as easy and predictable. Just speed up until he is directly to your side (either one) and bump him to hell. Stage 3 ------------- Some bumps and bumper rounds are scattered here and along with, of course, the cars. Right after going right on the fork, you will see 5 bumpers lined up in the middle of the road. Be prepared to go behind the last one to collect a TURBO bonus! After that, some motorcycle gang will come after you. Bah. Continue on to find the boss. The boss here is much, much more tougher. You still can damage him by ramming his behind, but it won't do as much as if you hit him from the side. He will try to force you to hit his rear, so shake your path up to try to force him to go to your side. He will drop GRENADES if he's ahead of you so be careful! If you one a grenade, you will stop immediately and he will fly off... you got to chase him again if this happens. Using a Turbo here to make him go to your side faster is also a good idea. Stage 4 ------------- You will see a helicopter above you once you start. Don't worry, it won't hurt you. It will drop a gun to you. Ease off on your gas and grab it. The rest of the place is nothing but cars and little bumps. The boss here is a van, but it's pretty speedy. You might want to use a turbo or two to make the battle faster. It won't drop any grenades or weapons like Boss 3. However, if you picked the gun up, you can make this fight MUCH shorter. Just line him up and press SELECT to watch his health drop and drop. Continue doing that until the cross-hairs above your car is gone. Then keep bumping his sides until it's totaled. Stage 5 ------------- There won't be any cars here, but jeeps. Like that will make any difference anyway. Right after the fork, you will see a TURBO item on the road, pick it up. There are a lot of pil puddles and bumpers here, so watch out of them. Most of them appear on the middle of the road, so be aware of that too. The boss also drops GRENADES, so you already know this will be a tough one. The boss car's rear is armored with some steel stuff, so forget about hitting that place. Swerve all around the track to dodge his grenades and wait until you are able to hit his rear and do it! Using turbos helps you greatly by catching up to him. Stage 6 ------------- Go to the left immediately for a Time Bonus. Don't miss it! There are a LOT of bumpers and bikers here. You will reach a 'gravel' road (or black road, whatever you think it is) and it can be frustrating because the color distracts you from the obstacles. So keep your eyes extra-peeled during this period. The track is longer than it seems, so if you didn't get the time bonus at the beginning, you better use a turbo or two to make up for the lost time. No grenades on this boss, thank god. However, the Hummer will try to prevent you from hitting its sides and it does a GREAT job. If you hit its rear, it will drive super-fast off, prolonging the battle. You will still damage it from the rear, however. To get t its sides, start on the inside side of a turn (only if you are on a turn) and stay there and wait for it to come close to you and move quickly to the outside. Mr. Hummer here likes to make the race long. Stage 7 ------------- This stage is shorter than the average ones that you encountered earlier. Early in the stage, a helicopter will award you with a bazooka in a same fashion in Stage 4, where you got a gun. There are just cars here, other stupid-ass obstacles. Like I said, pretty short. The boss here is a huge SUV/Hummer. It's HP goes down like a snail, but you can make it go down to 2/5 in a heartbeat with your bazooka. Line it up and shoot it good (SELECT) because you will have only one shot at it. If it connects, the boss' HP will go down by more than one-half! Sadly, the damn thing has Grenades! Just use your Turbos to catch up with it and blast it with hits to the sides. You might have to use a Credit up here. Stage 8 ------------- This can ONLY be accessed if you clear Stages 1-7 WITHOUT using a continue, any difficulty. There are absolutely nothing here except for the boss himself. Just do him in the usual way - speed, catch up, ram his sides, watch him burn and die. He doesn't ahve any grenades to protect him so beat him up. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 6) Tips ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --Buy a Turbo after every level, it's only 30000 points. You rack up about 100000 points per level. --Try to use up only 1 turbo before each stage's boss. The bosses are much easier when you use a Turbo to catch up with them. --To dodge the Grenades on turns (Bosses 3, 5, 7), hug the INSIDE part of the curve and wait for the boss to ge in your line and QUICKLY move to the outside. Most of the time, it works. If you're on the outside part, you usually are stuck there because you can't get to the inside part fast. --Automatic is recommended, since the game does it well and smoothly. Manual is too tedious and unreliable in boss battles. --Locating the boss will add 60 seconds to your time. So if you're low on time before the boss, turbo your way to the boss! --Always try for the sides on bosses, since they inflict 2x damage. --Go for the engine or the body (the shop) first. The tires aren't that important as 10+ MPH or extra attack power. --Try to clear the game without using a continue to access Stage 8. --Always, always have your thumb pressed on the Gas button. ALWAYS. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7) Fin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Disclaimer ---------- I don't mind having my FAQs posted on other sites, but I don't fancy having them posted without my knowledge.
