This one covers the GameBoy game Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade's Revenge. Quite a mouthful, eh? This game is another one of your typical platformers centering around some of the most well-known Marvel comic book characters ever created. ... Yeah, I don't know much to say about this. But try to enjoy. =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= Section Two: Version History **SPIDEY_2** =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= v0.40 - Three stages done. 10:49 PM 6/26/2012 v0.90 - Six stages done. 8:50 PM 6/28/2012 Final - Complete. 8:54 PM 6/29/2012 =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= Section Three: Legalities **SPIDEY_3** =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= This FAQ may not be reproduced under any circumstances except for personal, private use. At the top, destroy the enemy, then drop off of the right side of the building. Continue to the ground and grab the blinking pickup to the right. Go back up the ledges to the ledge you fell to and swing across. Grab the nearby pickup, then go right. At the vertical space nearest the right wall, begin climbing your way upward for a while. When you go up no more, go back to the ground, grab the blinking pickup, and go back up. Grab the blinking icons as your spidey-sense detects them in this upper area. Then go back outside and climb to the top of the building to the left, then swing across the gap, grabbing a blinking icon and a health pickup on the way. Go right and down into the long hole, sticking along the left side for the blinking pickups. Climb back up and, at the second hallway, go along there and destroy the spider at the end, then grab the lower, then upper, blinking pickups. Leave this hall and go to the bottom of the vertical airspace you fell through. Go left and jump along the ledges to destroy a spider and grab another pickup. Then go into the hall below and grab that pickup. Go back to the vertical airspace and simply go along, picking up the rest of the pickups until the level ends; you'll be doing some back-and-forth along the hall before picking up the one at the very end. ==================== Stage 2 - Spider-Man ==================== Quick note: they spelled "hadn't" as "had't" in the introductory sequence. =/ Note: For stages two through six, you are given a choice of which character to use. The order is of your own choosing. This stage applies for when you choose Spider-Man. Climb up the wall to the left and destroy the nearby Donkey Kong-esque enemy, then continue onto the level above. Go right and onto the metal platforms. On the lower one, drop off of the right side and swing to the right. There, go to the top of the building. Go right for a bit and you'll reach a big vertical girder as it starts to rain. Climb down the left side, go up the right, and continue to the right for a bit more. Drop off of the right side of this ledge and you'll hit the building. Go right and swing to another area. Continue right to a building where a humanoid enemy ambushes you. Defeat him. =================== Stage 3 - Wolverine =================== Note: For stages two through six, you are given a choice of which character to use. The order is of your own choosing. This stage applies for when you choose Wolverine. A linear level. Go along the path and destroy any enemy fool enough to ambush you. Any wall that gets in the way can be destroyed with an Up + B combo. Note that the big clowns are just background features; you'll be able to walk past. But the bullets are "real" and will hurt. And there is a boss enemy at the end. Punch it a few times, back off, and repeat. Avoid touching it, for it will hurt you. ================ Stage 4 - Gambit ================ Note: For stages two through six, you are given a choice of which character to use. The order is of your own choosing. This stage applies for when you choose Gambit. Uhh... Pretty much go right until the end of the level where the boss lies. Along the way, you'll find a tall green wall. Hit it with your cards to destroy it. Start at the lower platform, then destroy some wall, go to the middle one, and work your way up. You'll come across a second one later on. There, destroy the enemy above you, then rain cards at the horse across the wall to prevent an annoyance. Then get up next to the wall and use Up + B for a bit until the wall can be traversed. =============== Stage 5 - Storm =============== Note: For stages two through six, you are given a choice of which character to use. The order is of your own choosing. This stage applies for when you choose Storm. Go right along the bottom level and destroy the two doors you come across with your needle attack. Whenever you see an opening to go up, do so to restore your air supply. Go around the level you can reach now and look for tanks -- there are two in the lower-right corner. Smash them with needles to raise the water level. Go to the bottom right corner and continue along the path. You'll destroy a few more doors and a few more enemies along this path. Don't worry excessively about damage until you hit about four units of health, because staying at the water's surface heals you. Continue smashing the water tanks on the way. Just continue this cycle until you reach the boss and needle him to death. There's nothing special about this one. ================= Stage 6 - Cyclops ================= Note: For stages two through six, you are given a choice of which character to use. The order is of your own choosing. This stage applies for when you choose Cyclops. Am I the only one reminded of MegaMan? Anywho, go right and down a couple of platforms. Use Down + B to destroy the enemy, then go right and up a few more. When there is an enemy on the platform above, use Up + B, then continue on to the main ledge, but ONLY after that spike falls down ... or you blast it into oblivion. Go right, destroy another enemy, then continue on as before, destroying the spike when it appears. On the next ledge, destroy another enemy. Eventually, a mine cart will pass by. What ensues is a little like that bit from Donkey Kong Country, and also like one minigame from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. So, yeah, mine cart. You'll come across some glittering stones as you ride the electrified floor. Use the jump button to go over those stones or you'll end up dying. Or, if you find that to be extremely unreliable, just hit them with some lasers! At the end, when the cart stops, jump to the left and onto another platform. Destroy the enemy to the right, and continue to the right, destroying some enemies on the way. You'll reach another cart scene. Repeat. After leaving it, go right, destroy some more enemies, and do another thing with the cart. Defeat the boss at the end of there by dodging and shooting. Nothing too complicated, really. Just shoot from the left with the boss still on-screen, but not the center of his chest. ==================== Stage 7 - Spider-Man ==================== This isn't really much of a level; moreso just a boss fight. You'll begin in an area with some pictures of X-Men nearby. I can't seem to interact with them, so that sucks. Jump to ground level and you'll notice a big robot nearby. See that cannon in its middle? That's bad, very bad. To defeat it, you'll want to initiate the fight, then lead the boss to the top platform. Then quickly switch to the floor and fire at it from the side opposite it. Repeat and move as needed. You *can* be hit, but there is less *to* hit, which makes this easier. He can jump pretty far, so beware the need for repetition. After destroying the robotic beast, it'll blow up and some smaller Arcade bots will appear. You'll need to destroy three of them. Use the same trick as before. Take them out one after the other; once one is destroyed, another comes from somewhere else. Eventually, the fight will end... ... as will the game.
