This one covers the GameBoy game, Jungle Strike. From what I can glean, it seems to sort of be an older version of Grand Theft Auto with more patriotic intentions. =/ Yeah, I don't have much to say about this; not real good with this, you know. But try to enjoy. =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= Section Two: Version History **STRIKE_2** =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= Final - First and likely only version of this FAQ completed. 9:01 PM 6/1/2012 =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= Section Three: Legalities **STRIKE_3** =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~= This FAQ may not be reproduced under any circumstances except for personal, private use. They will widen/narrow the screen, respectively. Otherwise, N/A. ---------------- "Quick" Overview ---------------- In any level, you'll want to first pause the game and observe the map. Then look at your objectives in the detailings (press Down). Your objectives will be numbered. For example, in the Washington D.C. area (Level 1), you'll have to... 1. Protect the Washington Monument, Library of Congress, and the Jefferson Memorial. 2. Destroy the enemy headquarters' buildings throughout the city and take the leaders. 3. Neutralize the car bombs. 4. Find and rescue Agent Akbar. (Agh, so close to a joke!) 5. Protect the President's motorcade. 6. Capture the enemy spy. Understand so far? All of the following stuff -- fuel drums, armored cars, etc. -- will just be other details moreso pertinent to your own survival or defeating the enemy. So, your objectives. You'll have to do them in a numerical order - in other words, you cannot capture the enemy spy, as per the above example, without having protected the monuments, destroyed enemy headquarters, and so on. But how to do them? More often than not, they'll imply themselves if you read the detailings. But, for example, how would you know what is the Washington Monument, the Library of Congress, or the Jefferson Memorial, ESPECIALLY if you weren't native to the United States? Well, flip through the detailings to that objective, then press Up on the map and boom! The targets will be on the map and blinking. Note that, if you look at another objective's stuff, you'll just get moving question marks. You can also look up locations on the map for the fuel drums, and so on. It will be quite convenient later on. You will probably want to know how well you're doing on your objectives, right? Well, from the detailings of the objectives, press Down on the D-Pad and you'll be able to see the mission status, in the order they need to be finished, whether they've been finished, and what to do when you're done. Press Down again and you'll find your personal status. Your armor (which is maxed at 1,000 points (it's your health)), fuel percentage (out of 100%), how many extra you're carrying, your number of lives, and your current score. Your armor will decrease as you take enemy hits or run into buildings. It is your health; if it runs out, you lose a life. Your fuel keeps your helicopter aloft; you have enough fuel for about 2.5 ~ 3.0 minutes of flying; if it runs out, you lose a life. To restore armor, drop off people at checkpoints or pick up armor repair boxes; to restore fuel, pick up some fuel drums. Now, your ammunition. That's how you slay people, destroy cars, and wreak general havoc on the enemy. You can't see this from the pause menu, though. You will need to be playing. You have three types of weapons: a basic machine gun (max ammo of 999), Hydra quick-fire missiles (max of 60), and the H-Fire strong (but slow-fire) missiles (max of 9). If you need more ammo, pick up a ammo crate (you can destroy ammo trucks for some) -- it'll max out the ammo all of your weaponry. Okay, I think that makes a decent instruction manual. Gameplay details! ----------------- Gameplay Overview ----------------- This will pretty much give a more direct application of the above or something. I can't exactly think of the words to say it, but I'm going to more or less teach you how to play in a lot shorter, somehow better, way than the above. Once you begin a level (or want to leave from a landing pad), you'll need to press a button on the D-Pad. You can move around using the D-Pad; remember, Up is forward, Down is backward, and Left/Right rotate you. You can combinations of forward/backward with rotation. So, a lot of the time, you're going to be either killing enemies, blowing up vehicles, or destroying buildings. You'll need to fire weapons to do this. You can use the B Button to cycle through your three types of weapons -- guns, Hydras, and H-Fires -- and the A Button to fire them. Note that each has a different reload rate -- you can fire Hydras the fastest, followed by guns, then the H-Fires. That takes up the gist of the info. However, over time, you'll lose fuel. What to do about that? Well, open up your map and press Left/Right until "Fuel Drums" is at the top of the screen. This map will correspond to your playing view -- north is north, etc. The moving X/+ is you; flashing dots mark the respective item. You can also use this method when you want armor and need armor repair toolboxes, want ammo and need ammo crates/trucks, or need to drop someone off at a landing zone (the mark is a yellow X). Additionally, that'll also work when you want to find armored cars (ACAR), heavily-armored attack RV's (H.A.R.V.), or attack vans. You can also look up stuff for your mission objectives here; however, for one, they will not always be dots, but may be flashing buildings. For another, you can only look up stuff for your current objective; future ones bring in question marks, and past ones do nothing. The objectives are detailed within the pause menu; press Down from the map. Again, you'll have to do them in numerical order. That sums up the game. I can't really give all too much more, seeing as the locations of enemies and such is randomized, and the objectives are given in-game and can be accessed at any time. Once all objectives in an area are done, you'll go to the next area. Good luck!
