INTRODUCTION G0100 =============================================================================== Welcome to 'Idol Hotline: Nakayama Miho no Tokimeki High School' for the Famicom Disk System, released by Nintendo in 1987. The game was only released in Japan. The guide uses Shift-JIS to display Japanese characters in .txt form. If you cannot see them automatically and just see some garbled font, set your browser encoding or file viewer manually. This game is a text adventure. To play you need to have advanced knowledge of the Japanese language. Thus this walkthrough is intended for players who are able to read and understand the text. BASICS G0200 =============================================================================== Menu: ````` * New Game starts a new game, naturally. * Continue starts from a previous save point, this is done automatically. * Name changes your profile name. * Service Data is a message from Miho. Controls: ````````` A button for action, confirm commands etc. B button for cancel, including the phone number screen D-Pad for selecting a command as well as selecting your facial expression Talking sometimes involves facial expressions which you can alter by pressing left and right. The game will give ask for your choice so you will know when the option is available. The response will differ whether you talk with a serious, sad, worried or happy face. Phone Numbers: `````````````` At the time of the game's release the phone numbers were actually real and you could call them up and hear messages from Miho Nakayama. This service does not work any more but the phone messages are listed in this guide. The phone numbers also indicate your progress. If they vary from the guide then you are not following it correctly. There are two ways to get through the game and then the phone numbers will differ but I will not detail the second path. Basically it involves take a peek into the girl's changing room at the start of the game. If you do not do that you will still continue in almost the same way but the phone numbers differ. Endings: ```````` There are two endings in the game. Read the info near the end for more details. There are also many BAD endings which are more than "Game Over" than real endings. Cheat: `````` At the title screen, press Select 164 times. Then hold Down-Left and press Start. While still holding Down-Left, use Select to choose "Service Data" and press Start.
