INTRODUCTION G0100 =============================================================================== Welcome to 'Suishou no Ryuu' for the Famicom Disk System, released by SquareSoft in 1986. In what translates to 'Crystal Dragon', this is one of Square's earliest game in existance. Fan-translator Mute made an English version of this game available, and I strongly suggest you seek it out rather than play the original version if you do not understand any of the language. The walkthrough works for both translated and non-translated games since it is mainly icon-based. The guide uses Shift-JIS to display Japanese characters in .txt form. If you cannot see them automatically and just see some garbled font, set your browser encoding or file viewer manually. Suggestions, comments or errors - tell me about it. Enjoy! =============================================================================== 02.) BASICS G0200 =============================================================================== 'Suishou no Ryuu' is a graphical adventure. Unlike most console adventures coming from Japan, this game uses an icon interface. Thanks to fan-translator 'Mute' you can even play this game entirely in English, and it will make it much easier if you do not know any Japanese. Should you be playing the original untranslated game, this guide is still useful. Controls: ````````` To perform the currently highlighted command, press the A button. To switch commands, hold B and press left or right until you are at the one you want. Point the cursor to the object on the screen you want to interact with first, then use the menu to perform an action. When you have choices on the screen (shown my small white arrow), cycle through them with the B button. Press START to cancel a command. The game will let you continue as often as you like, thus the only reason to save is if you are turning off the machine. Actions: ```````` From right to left, the icons represent the following actions> - Move (get around places) - Look (investigate closer) - Take (an item) - Talk (to a person) - Use (item from inventory, up and down cycles through them) - Open (a door for example) - Operate (a machine etc) - Drop (an item) - Save/Load =============================================================================== 03.)
