Introduction ============================================================================== Pinball is a E-Reader game that was originally made for the NES. E-Readers sell at $39.99 and Pinball sells at $4.99. Pinball also comes with some E-Readers. Pinball is a classic game and was originally made for arcades. Because Pinball is a very random game, and no 2 games are alike, it is impossible to make a perfect walkthrough. This walkthrough is here to help if have questions or why is something not working. Now, onto the meat of the guide. ============================================================================== II. Version ============================================================================== Version *1.20* 1/13/02 I fixed many spelling and grammer errors. I added 'Spades' to my walkthrough Version *1.10* 1/14/03 I added a FAQ section. I worked on the What's to come section also. Version *1.00* 1/6/03 I have added more to the Walkthrough and the scoring. Version *0.60* 1/2/03 I plan on finishing this some other time after I get advice from friends, but today I finished the controls and credit section of my guide. I worked on the walkthrough, scoring, Pinball maps, and what to expect sections and will eventually finish them. ============================================================================== III. Controls ============================================================================== First of all and most important is the controls. I got this information from the E-Reader card that came with it. These buttons are the main buttons used in the game. The D-Pad Start/Select A Button/B Button __ _____ _____ I I I I I I ___I I___ I S I I A I I___ D ___I I_____I I_____I I I I__I Controls Left Start: Start or Pause A: Operate right flipper or launch Flipper Select: Choose A or B. ball. B: Same as A. Also pressing L + R resets game. ============================================================================== IV. Walkthrough ============================================================================== You start the game with a screen showing in big pink letters 'Pinball' and underneath it '1 Player Game A' and '1 Player Game B'. At the bottom of the screen is the words '1983 Nintendo CO..LTD'. Game A is easy and Game B is hard. In game B the ball moves faster and gives you less reaction time. Press select to switch to A or B and press start to select one. It will then show the pinball table. Wait a few seconds, hold the A button, and release it. I do not think the power of the launch effects the score much ,as it bounces around any ways when it gets to the top. There you will see 3 pathways all lined up like this: o ___ 1000 _______ o / \ 500 500 / \ o / \ / \ o I B I I I I ____ I o I / I I I__/ \ I o \ / 500 I I o \_I _____ _A I I / \ / \ I I I 100 I \ I I I \_____/ I I I I The ball will randomly bounce around at the top, above the 500s and 1000. It will eventually fall down and probably fall onto the 100 ball. After bouncing around for a while it will fall down to the 2 flippers. You should hit it then it will randomly and go to another part of the screen. Everything next is completely randomized so I can't tell you what will happen next, only what might. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ THE SLOTS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If the ball goes to the right side of the screen and goes in the green area past the white line(A) it will start a slot machine which has 3 different pictures and 3 slots. The first picture is a 3, the second a 7, and last, a penguin. If the ball hits the red moving platform it will stop 1 slot. If you get all 3s you win 3,300 points and a block for 6 seconds. The block stops most balls from falling through. All 7s wins you 7,700 points and 14 second block. Finally if you get 3 penguins the block is raised and won't go down until the ball goes through the left or right hole. All points are doubled when you have 3 penguins. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +Be very careful when you have 3 penguins, if you leave up in the air you can+ +earn some major points. Sending the ball through the left tunnel will rack + +up a lot of points. + ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Jackpot ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you hit the left block(B) a number will change. It starts at 100 and adds 100 each time you hit it. If you hit it once, 100. Twice, 300 total and so on. There is a table up to 10 hits in the scoring section. This can be very helpful for racking up points. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Birdies ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ At the bottom of the lower pinball table, just above the flippers is 3 eggs. If you hit one of the eggs with a pinball a baby chicken appears. If you hit a baby chicken with the pinball it will disappear. If you get 3 birds 2 bumpers will appear. One will appear at the left and one at the right. These are very helpful and will stop a lot of balls from falling. This does not give you any points what so ever. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lane Lights ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On the left hand side of the lower table is 7 lights. They appear as yellow blocks and have the numbers 1 through 7 on them. Hitting 1 earns 100 points and hitting them all gives you 2,000 points plus the already scored 600. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Spades ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In the lower screen, there are 5 cards at the top. Each card is seperated from the others by a bar. If the ball hits one of these cards, it flips over and is a spade. The cards are from left to right: 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace. One card flipped over is worth 500 points. All the cards flipped over is worth a whopping 5,000 points. ============================================================================== V. FAQ ============================================================================== Just in case you don't know, FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Questions. Q: Is Pinball 2-Player? A: No, it is not 2-Player but you can always take turns. Q: How much does this game cost? A: $4.99. Any more is way too much. Q: May I contact you for any number of reasons? A: I do not wish to be contacted at all because I am afraid of viruses. Q: Are my scores saved? A: No, scores are not saved. I think that Nintendo may release a "memory card" of sorts though eventually. Q: May I use this guide on my site? A: NO, YOU MAY NOT. ============================================================================== VII.
