IQ Mission Translation, an indepth FAQ for "Lupin III: History's Greatest Mind" version 1.0, updated 6/12/11 by caiphocyr, contact: caiphocyr@gmail.com -General Information- When prompted to enter a name, click the box on the bottom row, third from the left, in order to change the characters to the English alphabet. -Controls- d-pad: move, climb, drop B: cancel, speed-through dialogue, jump A: accept, auto-complete dialogue, interact Y: hold to: crouch, push, sneak L: enter scroll mode use d-pad to look around the stage R: enter system menu question mark: Fujiko offers insight into game mechanics (with pictures!) face: displays a map of the current stage door: restart current level exit: exit to level-select screen start: skip cut-scenes stylus: touch objects to examine them -IQ Mission Menu- 1st box: purchase hints (not very useful) 2nd box: reset puzzle 3rd box: exit puzzle 4th box: solve puzzle (be confident you've got it!) Note: there's no penalty for reseting or exiting a puzzle. The format of confirmation screens is yes/no. After completing a stage, one can independently access IQ missions from the level-select screen. For levels 3, 5, 10 and 15, necessary walkthrough elements are provided. ***Spoiler alert*** I tried my best to retain the flavor of the puzzle text. However, in such cases where I couldn't explain a puzzle, but somehow came up with the answer, I've simply included that solution. This was necessary in an effort to reach the 36 puzzles required to advance to stages 13-15, allowing for completion of the game. If you figure out the logic to these puzzles, please contact me, and I'll update the FAQ accordingly--likewise in the event that you figure out a puzzle for which I haven't provided guidance. Paradox Residence - Stage.01 _______________________________________________________________________________ IQ.01 - Turn the mysterious dials! IQ Level: 090 Several letters are written on the dials. Try finding their relevant alignments. ~Advice~ Note the orientation of the cardinal directions on a common map. _______________________________________________________________________________ IQ.02 - Solve the riddle of the panel! IQ Level: 090 There are several buttons on the panel. Press nine buttons until you have "four." ~Advice~ Think digital. _______________________________________________________________________________ IQ.03 - Put the pieces in the right order! IQ Level: 100 Written on chess pieces are the numbers 1, 2 and 3. However, a number of pieces have been fixed. Between one, two. The first three first. A mediocre finish for the second three. Finished last, the second two. ~Advice~ First, between the first and second pieces... _______________________________________________________________________________ IQ.04 - Find the fuse that leads to the bomb! IQ Level: 090 One fuse among intertwined fuses leads to a bomb; search out the deadly fuse. ~Advice~ You won't hit a dead end if you search down from the top of the screen first. _______________________________________________________________________________ Paradox Residence - Stage.02 _______________________________________________________________________________ IQ.05 - Combine the torn map with the map pieces! IQ Level: 100 Let me finish the map. I've got the time! ~Advice~ The pieces suggest buildings with triangular-roofs. IQ Level: 145 In the circuit, electricity flows from positive to negative. IQ Level: 090 (This puzzle doesn't make any sense to me.) ~Advice~ The answer is 5. _______________________________________________________________________________ IQ.08 - Shoot the numbers; pave the way! (A Jigen puzzle) IQ Level: 090 With six bullets, add the numbers up to 31, 32 or 33 points. ~Advice~ 6, 6... somehow I feel like doing it will lead to success. _______________________________________________________________________________ Paradox Residence - Stage.03 _______________________________________________________________________________ IQ.09 - Solve the riddle of the panel! IQ Level: 100 There are several buttons on the panel. Press five buttons until you have "eleven." ~Advice~ Press the buttons to see a vertical row. 11 appears to have lined up. Five points instead of ten... _______________________________________________________________________________ IQ.10 - Solve the mystery of the cracked clock! IQ Level: 090 Separate the clock into two separate faces using the moveable cracks. The total number of each fragment is equal to the other. ~Advice~ Half of 78 in each clock. 78 divided by 2 is 39. _______________________________________________________________________________ IQ.11 - Match the laser sensors! IQ Level: 105 Letters are written which associate the circuits. Try to plug in the lasers. ~Advice~ The bottom numbers correspond to months, representing seasons in the USA. IQ Level: 105 There are numbers written on the tape. Cut the tape into three pieces at two positions. The sum of the numbers contained in each should be equal. ~Advice~ The total number is 78. Each of the numbers is equal to 78 divided by 3. _______________________________________________________________________________ IQ.15 - Solve the mystery of the cracked clock! IQ Level: 110 Separate the clock into two separate faces using the moveable cracks. One fragment is equal to four times the sum of the other. ~Advice~ Both cracks fall between numbers. IQ Level: 130 Divided along the lines of the sword there are 9 by 9 squares. Cut into squares. ~Advice~ Divide into six pieces. The total number of one fragment is 40, while the other is 30. ~Advice~ The total number of 70 is only two pieces of the problem.
