Sidequests 5. Disclaimer Introduction After taking a rest from his adventures, Link is now back in a much awaited journey on Nintendo's DS. Link can now travel by train via the spirit tracks, and must recover Zelda's body from a new evil. The princess will accompany Link on his quest in her spirit form, taking control of Phantoms and helping you solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. Plenty of new stuff awaits you in Link's latest adventure, new weapons, new characters, new places and a new way to solve the puzzles, in addition to the touch screen you can now use the DS microphone to find secrets and play Link's new instrument; the spirit flute. Basics (From manual) The Legend This is a tale from long ago. It's the tale of the first settlers of this land. In the beginning, the poeple followed the spirits of good, and all was peaceful. But that era of peace soon came to an end. The evil Demon King rose to power, destroying everything in his path. The spirits of good had no choice but to face him in battle. The war that ensued seemed to last an eternity, and much blood was shed. Finally, the spirits subdubed the Demon King, though the ycould not destroy him. Their powers were greatly depleted. With their remaining power, theu buried the Demon King's spirit in the ground. They built shackles to imprison him and a tower that acted as a lock. These shackles cover the land to this day. Actions Walk/Run/Jump/Roll Link moves in the direction that you touch. Touch and hold the stylus on the Touch Screen close to him to walk, or farther away to run. Run over small gaps in the ground to jump automatically. Tap two times in the same spot to roll in that direction. Pick Up/Throw/Talk/Read Signs Tap rocks and pots to pick them up. To throw them, simply tap the spot on the ground where you want them to land. Talk to people or read signs by tapping them. Sword Attacks For a targeted attack, tap right on an enemy to immediatly attack and swing your sword in the direction of that enemy. For a side-slash attack, quickly slide the stylus in the direction you want to swing your sword to attack in that direction. For a spin attack, slide your stylus in a circle around Link to wing your sword around and perform a spin attack. Grab/Push/Pull Tap blocks to grab them, and then tap one of the arrows to move them in that direction. Tap and hold the arrow to continue moving. Controlling Phantoms In the Tower of Spirits, you'll encounter enemies called Phantoms. They can't be defeated, but they may be controlled. First, collect Tears of Light to power up your sword. Then, hit a Phantom in the back to allow Zelda's spirit to enter its body. When possessed with Zelda's spirit, a Phantom generally follows Link, but you can draw seperate paths for it to take, or make it stop walking. Touch and hold the pink icon at the Phantom's feet and drag your stylus to draw the path you want it to take. Touch the same icon any time to make it stop. Items Whirlwind The whirlwind blows a gust of wind in the direction you're facing. Use it to knock enemies back and solve puzzles. To use it, position Link so he's pointing in the right direction, then blow into the Mic. Boomerang Use your boomerang to attack enemies, break pots, and flip switches. To use it, draw the path you want it to travel to with your stylus. As long as it doesn't hit an obstacle, it will follow the path that you've drawn. Whip The whip can be used to defeat armored enemies by taking away their shield. It can also break pots and help you cross pits by gripping into poles above. Sand Wand The sand wand will raise sand that you touch with the stylus, creating paths and bridges of sand. You can use it to lift Link with the sand or discover objects buried in the sand. Spirit Flute Use the spirit flute to play special songs at designated places to uncover secrets. To play it, slide the spirit flute with the stylus to line up the note you want to play and blow into the Mic. Walkthrough -------------------------------- Forest Realm --------------------------------- Aboda Village After the intro, you'll be prompted to get to the graduation ceremony. Walk around the village a bit to get used to the controls, but there isn't really anything of interest. Just talk to the guy in the blue shirt at the right of the train station to get a treasure piece, then go up to the station and speak with the train coductor to get onboard. Controling the train is simple enough, just switch tracks so you don't run into other trains and ring the bell to get animals off the track. Stop the train when you get to destination. Hyrule Castle There's nothing for now in the entrance area so move onward to the castle courtyard. Speak with the chubby guard and tell him you're here for the ceremony so they let you inside the castle. On the right you can break some jars to find a treasure piece, then just head on to the ceremony room, where you'll meet Zelda. After all is done, open your menu and check your letters in the collection screen. You should have received one from Zelda. Note the location of the secret passageway on your map. Now if you return to the previous room, you'll notice the guards on both sides of the entrance have moved. Head upstairs to the roof and look on the right side for a part of the wall missing. Head along the edge of the roof to reach the other side and go in. Head over to Zelda's room to receive the recruit uniform and accept to help her. Now you'll need to sneak out of the castle without princess Zelda being spotted by the guards. In the first hallway just head on through the top path while the guards are walking down and run around to the door. Outside, jump down to the courtyard and leave Zelda waiting while you go down to the guard standing still. Stand on his right so he is looking at you. Now switch to Zelda and draw a path (from the pink icon under her) leading down from the left of the guard, and stop beneath one of the bushes. Since the guard is busy looking at Link on the right, Zelda will be bale to sneak past on his left. Now switch back to Link and do the same thing with the next guard, making him look up while Zelda sneaks past south of him. For the third guard, head over north of him to find some rocks. Throw one at him to distract him. While the guard moves north to Link, switch to Zelda and head over to the left, from where you can then move to the exit. A cutscene will take place once you escape the castle. When you regain control of Link, you'll be back inside the castle. After speaking with the old man, leave the room and Link will spot princess Zelda's spirit going upstairs. Follow her to the ceremony room and go through one of the doors here. If you go down the hall behind those doors you can find a treasure piece in the jars on the right and a red rupee in the treasure chest on the left. In addition to that, if you exit through the left door you can get a treasure piece from the chest on the balcony. Now head up to Zelda's room so she joins you and lends you the spirit flute. To get any further, you'll need a sword first, so go back down to the first floor and into the training room in the northeast corner. Talk to the captain to get the recruit's sword. You'll need to complete the training before you get to keep the sword. Once you have the sword, return to the second floor and head down through the passage to the left of the princess's room. Open the chest here to get a red rupee, then speak with the guard who will notice you have a sword. He will let you out, so move through. Outside, defeat the enemies around the guard to help him out. He will mention a passage blocked by rock. Head up to the top of the path and pick up one of the bombs. Throw it at the north wall, right in the middle. A passageway will be revealed. Tunnel to the Tower This will be your first (easy) dungeon. On the right, grab the block and pull it upwards to the switch between the two doors. Open the chest behind the blue door to obtain a small key and unlock the door on the left with it. On the next floor, jump across the water pits, then open the chest on the right for a red rupee. Pick the bomb up and throw it at the rocks above to blow them up. If you've read the tablets from before, you should what order to hit the switches in. The correct order is right, top, bottom and left. You can now head on to the third floor, where rats will come up and frighten the princess. Get rid of them with the spin attack, then leave the dungeon for a cutscene. Tower of Spirits Floor 1 You are now finally inside the tower. Start ascending through the northern exit up to the first floor, where you'll be welcomed by a powerful enemy. After you are explained by Anjean how to defeat these Phantoms, return to the first floor and collect all three tears of light indicated on your map. When standing on the safe zones, the Phantoms cannot reach you. Start by getting the left one, then the top one. After getting the top one, go right and hit the switch. Then hurry back to the other side of the spikes and cross the pit to collect the right and final tear of light. You can now get the Phantom from behind and hit him. After a short scene, Zelda will take control of the fearsome enemy. With her help, you'll be able to open the large door. Simply take control of the princess and draw a path to the door to lock-on to it, then with Link push the door with her. Floor 2 You'll need some more of the princess's help for this floor. Since Link cannot step into the spikes ahead, switch to the princess and draw a path going over the spikes to the switch on the other side. The phantom can walk on the spikes, and they will be lowered after Zelda hits the switch. Now back to Link, go down to find a door and two panels on the ground. Stand on one, then switch to Zelda and draw a path to the other one so she steps on it. After the door opens, go on and defeat the rats. You can block the hole with the stone if needed. You'll then come to some more spikes. As you did previously, switch to Zelda and walk over the spikes. She can also walk past the guard ahead, so draw a path to the switch behind him to lower the spikes. Now as Link simply run past the guard and up the stairs. Don't worry about the other stuff in this room for now, we'll come back later. On the third floor, obtain the forest rail map on the center pedestal. You can now exit via the blue warp. Speak with Anjean to get your very own train and get started on your quest. Using the map you can now drive the train to the location of your choice. The next destination is a small village in the middle of the map, which we passed by on our way to Hyrule castle. Drive there and make a stop at the village. Whittleton If you haven't gotten the shield yet, you can buy a shield at the shop. You should have enough rupees by now. There isn't really anything much to do here for now beside that, so head directly to the northern hut and speak with the chief. Before leaving, you might want to talk to the villagers to get clues for the area ahead. Otherwise, just hop back into the train and travel west onto the new route. Lost Woods To get through this forest, you'll need to pay attention to the tree branches on your way. Just before each fork in the road, you'll notice a tree with a large branch pointing right or left. The directions change each time, so be attentive. For the three first forks, simply go in the direction pointed by the tree branch before the split. As for the fourth one, you'll need to go in the opposite direction that the one pointed by the branch as the last tree always lies. If done correctly, you'll reach your destination. Forest Sanctuary Things get interesting here. First head over to the right side of the area and go up the steps. Pick up a bomb from the plants and run back down to the opposite direction. You'll find other stairs on the left, but blocked by rocks. Throw the bomb to blow them up. Now go back to the bomb flowers and pick another one up. This time, cross the bridge on the left. There's a switch here. What you must do is throw the bomb near the switch, but not into it. We don't want it to blow up just yet. While the bomb lays around on the ground near the switch and prepares to explode, run back to the flowers and pick up a second bomb. Hurry back across the bridge. During that time the other bomb should have exploded and hit the switch by the same occasion, raising a bridge on the other side. Keep running with the bomb across the new bridge and throw the bomb at the rocks blocking the path ahead. The bridge doesn't stay up for long, but using that strategy you should have enough time to cross with the bomb. Continue left to an area with statue heads turned around. If you examine the panel in the center, it will ask you to draw a line between the two statues facing each other. That would be the top-left one and the middle-bottom-right one (if that sounds too confusing just look at the screen below). Doing so will open the gate ahead, where you'll meet Gage. After chatting with him, talk to him a second time to learn how to play the spirit flute. When you're done practicing, exit the screen and speak with him to do the real thing. After he plays his part, the camera will switch to Link. Blow into the microphone over the three notes (orange, yellow and purple) very slowly. Don't be too quick or it won't work. Just follow the melody from the practice. You'll need to play your part three times, then the whole song will play out and a new part will appear on your train map. Leave this place and head back through the statue heads area. After going up the small flight of stairs in the corner, you'll notice a different statue that plays out musical notes. Stand in front of it and open the menu to pick up your flute. Play the two notes (blue and red) in the same order to wake up the statue and learn the song of awekening. There's also an unreachable chest in this area, but that's for later. You're done in here, so get back to the train and head for the new location on your map. While you cross the forest, pull the horn to scare off the spiders in your way until you arrive at the first temple. Forest Temple At the entrance of the temple, play the flute in front of the statue on the left (green, white, green) to learn the song of healing, before entering the temple. Inside, go right and pick up an acorn from one of the plants. Throw it across the chasm on your right to hit the switch and draw a bridge. Head down from there and defeat the enemies in the room below to make a chest appear, with a big green rupee inside. Move upstairs now and make sure to avoid the purple miasma as you head up. Defeat the spiders in the room ahead, then open the big chest to obtain the whirlwind. Go stand in front of the switch in the middle of the room and tap the whirlwind icon in the corner. Position it towards the switch and blow into the microphone to activate it. The door on the left will open. Before going there though, head back down where the purple miasma is and blow the corner of the hall to reveal a chest with a stalfos skull. Now head on to the left and blow the miasma in front of the door, then go downstairs. On the right, you'll see a key in the middle of a chasm. Stand in front of it and blow it away with the whirlwind so you can pick it up behind. Get the small key then step on the switch in the corner to open the gate below. Cross back the bridge from before on the right and head up to the top of the path, which is covered by miasma. Blow it all away to reveal a stamp station and a switch in the left corner. You can't do anything with the stamp station for now, but step on the switch to drop a chest. Go open it to get a big green rupee. Then go left and open the locked gate with the key. To defeat the enemies in the room ahead, first blow them up with the whirlwind, then hit them. You can now go up to the second floor, and to the third floor. On the third floor, stand in front of the acorn and blow it away towards the switch on the other side of the chasm. Once hit a chest will appear on the right, containing a small key. Head back down to the second floor with it and unlock the gate on the right. Up ahead you'll confront a stronger enemy. To defeat it, take out the whirlwind and wait for it to throw an enemy at you. Quickly blow a gust of wind to send the enemy back at it. While it's stuned, attack it. Repeat once to defeat it, then head upstairs to the third floor. Proceed south to find a new type of enemy that will blow up when you hit it. Since there are rocks blocking your way on the right, you'll want to get that enemy to the right, so using the whirlwind, blow that enemy over to the right, then hit it twice to make it explode. Now that the rocks are out of the way, use the whirlwind on the miasma on the other side to clear the path. Step on the switch on the right, then go up and open the chest for a treasure piece. Also hit the switch there to open the gate back where the enemy was. Return there and enter the new room. Now you'll need to hit the switch behind the rocks, and over the chasm. To do so, simply hit one of the blue bugs once, then blow it towards the rocks with the whirldwind to have it explode and blow up the rocks. Do this until the way in front of the switch is clear, then do the same thing again but blow the enemy towards the switch to hit it. You can now head over to the small room in the top-right corner of the floor to pick up the big key. But first, examine the map behind the key. Draw the path that you see on this map to your own map. Now pick up the key and keep an eye on your map. Follow the exact path that you traced on there up to the gate. If you stray, key masters will get you. Once at the door unlock it and go up. Head on to face the boss. Stagnox - This is a rather simple boss. In the first round, just run around Stagnox until he stops for a short time. Quickly get behind him and blow a gust of wind with the whirlwind on the purple miasma on its back. Once its back is revealed, attack it a few times. Repeat that phase once to enter the second round. Stagnox will now hover around the stage and drop three bugs. Hit them all once to turn them into bombs and wait for the boss to come down. Stand south of the bugs, Stagnox will always be north of them. Once he comes down, blow one of the bugs right at him. While he's on the ground, attack him a few times and repeat the process one more time to defeat him. After the fight, new tracks will appear and you will obtain a heart container from the treasure chest. Leave the dungeon and get back on the train. ********************** Loot Time Now that you have the Whirlwind, you can return to the Forest Sanctuary to get that treasure chest you couldn't reach before. After getting off the train, go directly left and up the small flight of stairs. You'll notice a cucco and a chest on the cliff at the right. Using the Whirlwind, blow the cucco off the cliff, then go down to pick it up and go back up the stairs. With the cucco in your hands, jump off the edge to glide over to the cliff with the chest, which contains a big red rupee, worth 200. ********************** Heart Time Before moving on, you might want more life, so head back to Hyrule Castle's town. In the southeast corner of the market, there's a house where you can undergo the "Take Em All On" mini-game to win a full heart container. Talk to the lady and pay her 50 Rupees to start. Simply defeat all enemies in the rooms ahead without ever dying. At the end, you'll need to beat the boss from the Forest Temple again to be awarded your second heart container. Now we'll be going back to the tower of spirits. There are now bomb trains on the tracks at this point, so you'll have to be extra careful and plan your travels ahead. I usually just wait for the trains to be out of the way before drawing the path, and sometimes switch half-way through if I see there're coming my direction. Either way, safely make it to the tower of spirits and speak with Anjean. Tower of Spirits - 2nd visit Floor 4 After speaking with Anjean, head up the stairway to the new floor that has opened up since your last visit. In the first room you'll need to retrieve the three tears of light as previously. For the first one standing in the middle of the lava, blow it away to safe ground with the whirlwind, then wait for the guard to move down and go around to retrieve it. The second one is simply lying in the top-right corner on the safe zone. Now for the third and final one, go left through the bottom path. You'll see your path is blocked by the fire spit by the statue, which won't stop like the others. To get past this obstacle, simply wait there until the Phantom walking up the top path walks in front of the statue, blocking the flames. During that time quickly move left and go retrieve the last tear of light. Now that you have all three, hit a Phantom in the back so Zelda can transform. Then move her in front of the flames to block them and walk past as Link. Head for the southeast path which is flooded with lava. Just above that there's a chest with a treasure piece. Get that, then draw a path for Zelda to cross the lava as she can walk into it as a Phantom. Jump on her shield to have her carry you across the lava, then walk through the door on the other side. Floor 5 On this floor go left and draw a path for Zelda into the lava. Jump her shield and lead her to the left where a switch is in the middle of the lava. Blow it with the whirlwind, then get the chest nearby for a big green rupee. Return in the lava and lead Zelda to the right of the locked door to find the second switch at the end of the path. Blow it, then go to the now opened door. There's a way on the right but you can't go yet. So head left and down into the small maze. The enemy here holds the key you need, so you'll have to trap it so it doesn't run away. To do so, have Zelda walk one way while you walk the other and try to trap the enemy in a corner using the map. Defeat the enemy to get the small key, then open the locked gate just north of the maze and cross the lava to reach the next floor. Floor 6 A strong enemy will welcome you to this floor. To defeat it, you'll need to use both Link and Phantom Zelda. You can either serve as the decoy for the enemy and then draw Zelda to hit the enemy, or the other way around, have Zelda be the decoy, then while the enemy is busy attacking Zelda, hit its back a few times. It works best if you get him near a wall. Do this until you've defeated it, then go down to the next room where you'll find another type of enemy. You can't defeat it just like that, so ignore it for now and go right. Use Zelda to block the fire and go through. On the right, go up the stairs and get on Zelda's shield from the edge of the platform. Then draw a path going right through the bottom of the map. Get across the fire-breathing statues, then using the whilrwind, blow the small key from the platform on the other side so you can pick it up on the ground. Now return to the previous hallway and go up through the locked door using the key you just got. To defeat the two enemies here, simply blow the goblin away from the top of the statue, then strike him to blow up the statue (no need to). Head up to the seventh floor to pick up the snow rail map. Back at the entrance, talk to Anjean to switch the tracks. Outside, you'll notice the enemies roaming free are now stronger, and the train can't hold it. So make a stop at Hyrule castle before continuing. ---------------------------------- Snow Realm --------------------------------- Hyrule Castle - Aboda Village Going to the castle, check the mailbox on the way first to receive a letter from Alfonzo. Now head into the castle and go to the northwestern room where you recovered earlier. Alfonzo is now up, so speak with him to have him join up. Now return to the train and make your way back all the way to Aboda Village, where you started the game. As you arrive, go check up on Niko, the old man from the beginning in the bottom-left house. He will give you the stamp book, which you can use on the stamp stations from now on. You can get the missed stamps right now, then head for the snow realm. ********************* Stamp Time Aboda Village - Get your first stamp at the station north of Niko's house. Whittleton - In the eastern part of town is a forest where the stamp station is. Forest Sanctuary - The stamp station is located up the stairs in the top-left corner. Forest Temple - On the first floor, in the top-right corner, blow all the miasma away to reveal it. As you head onwards with the train, you'll see you now have a cannon. To use it just tap the target on the screen. You can blow up boulders on your way and enemies. Head for the new portion of your map until a large brown boulder blocks your path. Blow it up with the cannon, then stop at the village right after this. Rabbitland Rescue There is only one thing to do here for now. Speak with the man at the entrance to receive the rabbit net. While driving the train, occasionally you'll spot rabbits standing on top of boulders. Blow the boulders up with the cannon, then try to catch the rabbit with the net by tapping it. There's also a chest on a platform in the middle of the water on the right that you can get now if you want, by jumping from the right of the bridge above to the platform in the water. The chest contains a treasure piece. Now hop back into the train and continue to the snow realm. Stop at the first town. Anouki Village First thing first, head right as you get off the train and go around the empty snow field. White wolves will come out. Defeat them, then head up and make your way between the trees to find the stamp station. Stamp your book, then head over to the village. In the center of the village, examine the stone statue to learn a new song. Play the song on your flute (orange, yellow, orange, blue) and the statue will be replaced by a chest. You'll also learn the song of discovery. Open the chest for a red potion. Now enter the top middle house and talk to the chief. He will ask that you pair the villagers together depending on their requirements. Go talk to them to figure out the matches. If anything, I'll let you know of the correct results. Talk to the chief again when you're ready. You'll need to draw a line between the three pairs displayed. Take a look at the screen above if you're not sure. The chief will then give you a red rupee, and mark the location of the snow sanctuary on your map. So off you go. Snow Sanctuary On your way to the sanctuary, you'll cross a cave and be attacked by a giant crab with one eye. To defeat it, shoot cannonballs at its eyes over and over again until the foe falls. It will come back each time, so keep shooting it. You have to be really quick at shooting the eye as many times as possible or it will crush the train when it gets to you. Just keep shooting fast until you defeat it and make it to the sanctuary. Once you get there, make note of the house on the right side, there's a heart container there to buy, but it's too expensive right now so we'll come back later. Make your way up the cliffs on the left side to find a stamp station where to stamp Niko's book. Continue climbing up to find more wolves and ice chuchus. To defeat those, use the whirlwind to stun them and then hit them. A few steps further you'll find a cave to enter. Inside, you'll need to work your way around the statue heads without them seeing you. Step on the switch at the entrance to open the gate ahead, then try different ways to make it to the door. It's kind of hard to point at the right path, so just use the screenshot below if you're having trouble. Once you make it, you'll meet Steem in the next room. Speak with him and he will show you a new song to play on the flute in order to restore the snow temple. Practice it a bit (blue, white, blue, orange), then when you're ready, play the duet with him. New tracks will appear for the train and you now have access to your next temple. That's all for here, so return to the train. Don't try going for the snow temple just yet; you won't be able to because of the blizzard. If you talk to the chief back at Anouki Village, he will mention someone who can help you in the east. So trace your way to the eastern part of the map where you can see a bomb train. After passing through a small forest, you'll come to a station on the way. Wellspring Station The area is empty for now and you can't get the stamp station at the back yet, but there's a treasure piece in the jars behind the house on the right. If you enter the house, you'll find it's empty as well, but Zelda will notice a map on the table, which marks three locations. Copy those spots on your own map, then leave the station as there is nothing else. Back in the train, head for the southern mark to the right. When you get there, stop the train in front of the man on the side of the road. That's Ferrus, and he'll show you an old map of the path to take in order to reach the temple. It's all dusty, so blow into the microphone to clean off the dust. Now copy the path from the map to your map. That's all you need, so trace that path for the train to take to reach the temple through the blizzard. Just watch out for the snowmen on the way. Snow Temple As you enter the temple, you'll find there's nothing to do in the first room, so head over to the second. The room may seem complicated at first, but there's only one thing you can do in here for now anyways. See the big bell in front of you? Simply push it north into the gap, then strike it two times with your sword to open a door in the bottom-right corner. Inside that room, you'll need to push the block over the ice so it lands in the center of the gap in-between the two sides of the path above the stairway. Simply push it south first, then left, then up, then right, and then up again and it should be at the right spot. Now head up the stairs and jump across the gap using the block. Head through the door to the next room. To cross the water here, stand in front of the switch on the other side and take out the whirlwind. When the enemy spits out the spiky bug, blow it over to the switch to hit it. Two bridges will come out so you can cross and move to the next room. In here push the block on the ice to the right so it falls into the water. Jump on the block and take out the whirlwind again. Blow into the microphone in the opposite direction you want to go to float over the water. Blow the switch to the right first to open the door above, then head north and through it. Break the jars in the corner to find a treasure piece, then push the other block into the water and hop onto it. To defeat the enemies in the water, blow back the spiky bugs at them. Now look at your map and make it to the small alcove in the bottom-left corner. Open the chest there to get a red rupee. Then go upwards to the next room. Make sure to defeat all three enemies in the water so a chest appear containing a treasure piece. You can't reach the switches up north for now, so go left. The door will close behind you. Defeat all the bats by blowing them with the whirlwind first, then hitting them. Open the chest that appears afterwards to receive the boomerang. Go back right and select your new weapon from the menu. Hit the two switches with it to raise a bridge so you can reach the next area. Go south and ignore the bell for now. On the right, there's a chasm with two bats and a switch behind the wall. First draw a path to the switch and hit it with the boomerang to open the gate on the left. Then, hit the two bats still with the boomerang to make a chest appear next to the previous door. Open the chest for a treasure piece, then go left to the bell. Push it south, then left, up, left, down, right, down, left, and down so it falls into the hole. Now if you checked the sign on the wall before, you should know what order to hit the two bells in, but you'll need to use the boomerang. Draw a path that hits the big bell first, then hits the small one once, then hits it a second time, and then goes back to hit the big bell last. This will open the bottom-left door, so head through. In the room here, there are five torches from which only the middle one is lit. You'll need to hit all five with the boomerang, starting from the lit one, to light up the other four, but in a specific order. To find out what order you can just hit all of them to melt the snow on the ground around and symbols will appear with dots showing the order. But if you're lazy the order is top-right, bottom-right, top-left and bottom-left. Don't forget to start from the middle one and draw a path that hits all of them at once but in the correct order. This will open the door on the left so head there. Now you'll want to cross the water on the right. Take out the boomerang and target the torch of ice in the middle of the water. Draw a path from there to both sides of the water so you create a path of ice going from here to there. Cross the ice and open the chest on the other side to get a small key. Go back left and unlock the gate with the key. Behind, you'll find frozen octorocks, so still using the boomerang, target the fire torch in the middle and then hit away at the enemies to unfreeze them. You can then strike them with the sword. When they are defeated the gate on the right will open. At the top end of the water there is a frozen switch, so draw a path from the fire torch to the frozen switch to hit it with the flaming boomerang. Now that it's unfrozen, get back to the water and create an ice path from the ice torch to the switch so you can get closer to it. Blow it with the whirlwind to open the door on the right. Get to the door using the ice and you'll find some more water to cross in the next room. Start by making an ice path going north to find the stamp station, then use the boomerang to target the ice torch and hit the unlit torches over to the left to ice them too. Now simply make your way across the water like before using the boomerang and the torches. While you do this, make sure to defeat the enemies with the whirlwind to make a chest appear on the other side. Open it for a big green rupee, then go downstairs. Back on the first floor, ignore the bell for now and go down. Across the water you should see two ice torches. Make a path to cross and go down to find a switch. Step on it to open the gate above, then go north to find a chest with a red rupee. Head back across the water and push the bell right, then down, left, and up. Make a path of ice on the right again and then push the bell right so it crosses the water on the ice path. The gate is open so it should be pushed into the middle room where the other bells are. First, notice the two unlit torches at the top of the room. Using the boomerang, target the ice torch from the left room and make it hit the one on the right, and then the other one too. Lighting both up will make a chest appear behind the top door. Now, using the new ice torch near the bell, draw a path that goes all over the patch of water below so you turn it all into ice. Then push the bell down, left, down, left, up and right. It should fall into the hole. Now you have all three bells and need a new order to hit them in. If you went into the room below the one on the left, there are some bats to defeat with the whirldwind, and then you can target the fire torches with the boomerang to melt the snow on the ground, revealing the order to hit the bells. You don't need to do that if you know the order, which is left bell, middle bell, middle bell again, right bell and finally middle bell once more. Just draw a path for the boomerang to hit the bells in that order and the door in the center will open. You can now get the chest behind which contains a red rupee. After getting that just head through the stairway on the left to reach the second floor. Start by heading south and defeat the ice chuchus with the boomerang. If you go right, you'll find a sign on the wall that shows three ice torches and three fire ones. Note down the information on your map with symbols so you can remember their emplacement. Now head back up and enter the room on the left where the unlit torches are. Only two are lit, one fire and one ice. You'll have to light up all the torches at once using the corresponding element. So, starting from the fire or ice torch, draw a path to target all the torches of the same element first (according to what you noted on your map), then hit the remaining torch and light up the rest with the other element (so let's say you can hit the ice torch, then top-right, top-middle, bottom-middle, then fire torch, top-left, bottom-left and bottom-right). If done correctly the door on the right side will open. Behind it you'll get attacked by a bunch of wolves. Just use the spin attack to get rid of them, then head right after the door opens. Go down and left to find a switch. Step on it to raise a bridge below, then using the whirlwind, blow the big key to the bridge and go pick it up. Carry it to the locked boss gate and head up to the third floor. Here you can get the pots on each sides of the chasms using the boomerang to grab the items. You can get a treasure piece on the right side. Head onward to the boss when you're ready. Fraaz - This boss can be a bit of a pain. It has two different phases which Fraaz will joggle between. In the first one, he will spit either fire or ice, which you can avoid by running around. After you'r sure that you're safe from his attacks, look to see if his body has the fire or ice element to it. If it's ice, target the fire torche with the boomerang and hit Fraaz with it. If it's fire, do the same thing with the ice torch. After hitting him, you'll get a chance to strike him a few times with the boomerang. The second phase will then start. Fraaz will split into two small enemies. Wait for them to show up completely, then target them with the boomerang to check what element is attached to them. Hit the fire one with the ice torch, and the ice one with the fire torch. After this phase, Fraaz will transform back into his old self and will get rid of the two torches. From now on you must repeat the exact same process, but using the fire and ice that the boss spits. You'll need to hit him quite a few times, and the second phase will start up again. Do the same thing again until he's defeated. The fight can be sort of long and annoying. Once you defeat him, the way to the tower of spirits will re-appear. Open the chest left behind by the boss to obtain another full heart container, then exit the dungeon via the blue warp. You can now travel through the maze as you please since the blizzard is gone, but watch out for the new bomb trains roaming the area. Trace a path to the tower of spirits to head back there. Tower of Spirits - 3rd visit Floor 8 When you get to the tower head directly up the long stairway to the newly appeared floor. It's really dark in here, so you can't see much except for wherever the torches are. You can light up more torches around by using the boomerang to target the lit torches to the unlit ones. Follow the path to the right where it splits. Go north first. At the end of the hallway there is a suspicious dead-end with two torches on each side. On the right, another torch with a bomb flower. Pick up the bomb and throw it at the wall between the two torches to reveal the entrance to a secret room. Open the chest inside the room to get a treasure piece. Back in the dark hallway, go south this time and then all the way right to the next floor. Floor 9 On this floor you'll see two of the tears of light that you need. Just like in the previous room, light up all the torches that you can with the boomerang so you can hide from the ghosts and see where you're going. On the left there's a chasm so don't head there yet. Go north and work your way around the dark corridors to reach the two tears of light that you see on your map. It's not too difficult to find them. Once you have both of them, return to the northern safe zone which has a bomb plant. From there, go directly right all the way to the end corner of the hall. There is a lit torch here. Unlight it using the whirldwind to reveal a glowing crack in the wall. Return to the safe zone and pick up the bomb. Carry it to the wall and blow it up to reveal a secret room where the last tear of light is hiding. Now that you have all three, head back to the dark hallway and catch a Phantom from behind. Strike it to have Zelda take possession of it. You now have some light thanks to the Phantom. Return to the beginning of the floor where the chasm on the left is. Now that you have a torch, you'll be able to cross. Start from the bottom path and have Zelda lead the way on the bridge. Draw small paths to see where the bridge goes and follow her. Make it safely to the other side and go down. The gate to the next floor is locked, so have Zelda hit the two torches on each side of the door to light them up and open the door. Go through. Floor 10 This floor, just like the previous one, is pitch black. But now you have Zelda to light the way so head on through to the top of the room. If you go directly north, then left and down, you should come to some rat enemies. Defeat them, then go left, and north to find a chest with a treasure piece. Go back to the center of the room and walk around with Zelda lighting up the ground to see some symbols on the floor. If you go all around you'll notice they form one big symbol together, a giant Z. Now head over to the southeast corner of the floor to find a red door. Examine it and draw a big Z on it. It will open, revealing the big key behind. Link can't pick it up, so have Zelda do it. This will trigger floor masters coming out of the ground. Now you must bring the key to the door at the top of the room while keeping the floor masters away. Simply draw short paths for Zelda to walk towards the door and stay next to her to slash the enemies away when they get close. Also make sure she doesn't drop the key. When you get to the door, have her toss the key into the lock and then go upstairs. Floor 11 You'll face a familiar enemy here. Once again, you must use both Link and Zelda to defeat it. I found it easier this time around because of the pits. You can just have Zelda attack the enemy, then go around the pit and slash the enemy from behind while he's busy attacking the princess. Once he's defeated, head upstairs again and pick up the ocean rail map. You can now reach the ocean realm from the forest realm. Leave the tower and speak with Anjean to be on your way. ********************** Loot Time After learning the song of discovery, you can return to Aboda village from the beginning of the game and play the song of discovery under each of the palm trees next to each of the two houses in the village to find two treasure chests containing random treasure pieces. ********************** Heart Time There is a new heart container to get if you return to Hyrule Castle now. First check the mail box at the entrance to receive a letter from Russell. Now head over to the trainning room of the castle. Speak with Russell and accept to pay 20 rupees to play his game. What you must do is hit the soldiers at least 50 times before you run out of lives (you have three). Everytime a soldier hits you, you lose a life. Just keep hitting them (ignore the top-left soldier as he does not hit you) and keep an eye out if one of the soldier is about to strike, just attack him first or move away. If you manage to give 50 hits Russell will reward you with a full heart container. --------------------------------- Ocean Realm --------------------------------- Trading Post - Bridge Worker's Home To continue with your quest, trace a path to the new area in the southeast corner of the forest realm. When you get there, your way will be halted by a broken bridge. Back up and stop at the station nearby. Head for the only house here and speak with Linebeck III, who will mention someone who could repair the bridge, back in the snow realm. So go back there, heading towards the tower of spirits. On your way to there, stop at the small station just before the tower. Go inside the house here and speak with the worker until he accepts to fix the bridge. Now head back to the train, but speak with the guy near the station before getting on the train. He will warn you about what to watch out for during the ride while you have a passenger on board. The next part is pretty annoying. You'll have to keep an eye open for plenty of things while you take the carpenter to the Trading Post. If you see the red sign, speed up the train, if you see the blue one slow down the train and if you see the yellow one pull the whistle. Also defeat all enemies on your way. If you miss too many of this stuff the carpenter will jump out of the train. Anyways, carefully return to Linebeck's place in the forest realm and stop at the station. Speak with the carpenter in front of the bridge on the right, then go see Linebeck again in his house to settle something for the 5000 rupees. He will propose that you go fetch a ring that is worth a lot, hidden near his grandpa's grave. So go west to an entrance leading inside a cave. Run past the like-likes and exit the cave on the other side. You'll be back outside. Examine the statue on the right and play the flute with the notes coming out (purple, yellow, orange, blue and white) to learn the song of light and make an orb appear. Now stand at the edge of the water and take out the boomerang. Draw the bommerang's path over the line coming from the orb to hit a switch over the water. A bridge will come out. Go to the southeast corner of the area to pick up a bomb flower and run across the bridge. Throw the bomb at the crack in the wall to reveal another cave. Inside, defeat the octorocks but don't go anywhere near that treasure chest at the top, it's actually a like-like in disguise. Now stand next to the grey orbs on each side of the room and play the new song of light you just learned to turn them back on. Play the song next to each so both are glowing. Take a look at the pattern on the ground afterwards and go stand in the top-left corner of the big square symbol. Play the song of discovery you learnt before (orange, yellow, orange, blue) right at this spot to make a treasure chest appear. Open it to find the regal ring at last. Go back to see Linebeck with it and he will pay the carpenter (sort of). The bridge is now done, so you can hop back into the train and head east to the ocean realm. Don't stop at the first station, which is a village we'll come to later, instead continue to the Ocean Sanctuary a bit farther. ********************** Heart Time You can get another heart container at this point. If you remember, there is a small shop back at the Snow Sanctuary that has a heart container for sell at 2000 rupees. You might not have that much yet, but you can now sell your treasures to Linebeck for more rupees. At this point you should have more than enough to obtain 2000 rupees and buy the heart container. It's a long way to backtrack, but don't forget to stop by there eventually and buy it. Also, if you've caught five rabbits by now with the rabbit net, you can return them to Rabbitland Rescue for another heart container. Ocean Sanctuary When you get there go left to find your path blocked by a crab enemy which will push you away if you try to bypass it. To defeat it, use the boomerang and draw a path around it to hit its back. It will stun it, so run past and enter the cave behind. Defeat the crab inside the same way, then break the jars at the
top to find a treasure piece. South of there you'll find two bomb flowers and a chasm to the right. Pick up a bomb and throw it across the chasm next to the breakable rocks on the other side (if for some reason you cannot reach it, place the bomb on the edge and blow it across with the whirlwind). Once the rocks are out of the way, use the boomerang to hit the switch behind and raise a bridge for you to cross. Now head out of the cave to be back outside. Your goal here is to draw a symbol on the red door in the middle in order to open it. The clues are the statues heads scattered around the area. Go to each and note down on your map the direction they are facing. To reach the western one, use the boomerang to hit the switch on the other side of the water, and to reach the eastern one, go up above and use a cucco to fly down to the island. If you fly down from there too there's a chest with a treasure piece on the small isle south. Anyways, back to that door the symbol you should draw according to the direction the statues are facing is a sort of horizontal 8 (check the screen below if you need to see). Once you open the door, go inside only to find our Locomo isn't even here. Apparently he's at the village we passed by earlier, if you read the note he left. Leave the cave and go to the bottom-right corner to be back in the entrance area. Step on the switch here to raise a bridge, making a shortcut back to the train. Drive back west to the village. Papuchia Village There isn't much to do in this village, so head straight for the biggest hut on your map and speak with the fortune-teller inside. She will ask you some questions. After that, go back south across the small bridge where you spotted Carben flying with the birds. Stand next to the lone palm tree underneath and play the song of discovery (orange, yellow, orange, blue) to make a statue appear. Examine that new statue and play the song (purple, yellow, purple) to learn the song of birds and make Carben come back down to ground. He will ask that you bring him back to the ocean sanctuary. Before leaving, you can get a treasure piece from the chest on the northern isle left of the top-right hut. That's all for here, so with Carben onboard, drive back to the ocean sanctuary. Ocean Road On your way to the sanctuary, you will get attacked by a moblin ship. The view will switch to inside the train. Several enemies will come from outside and get on the train, trying to capture Carben. Your task is to keep them away from him. Defeat all the enemies that get onboard until a bigger one shows up. Carben will run over to the right. Simply attack the moblin as many times as possible until you see him raising his weapon. Run back to avoid the attack, then keep on hitting him. You also have to keep an eye on Carben at the same time as more enemies will keep coming. You can check the top screen and a message will be displayed if an enemy gets close to him. Otherwise just keep on attacking the moblin until he is defeated. Continue to the ocean sanctuary after the battle, where Carben will offer a force gem to Link. Using the shortcut from earlier, make your way back to the sanctuary to speak with Carben. He will teach you a new song which plays as follow (blue, orange, purple). Practice it a bit, then play it with him to restore the ocean realm tracks. Carben will also give you a letter marked with three numbers. Check it and copy the numbers down on your map at the right locations. Now you'll need to drive to these three locations and look for red orbs. To activate the orbs you need to pull the train's whistle to turn them blue. Ride to the first island marked as number 1 and look up in the air. Above the ground you should see some pillars and the first orb atop one of them. Pull the train whistle when you spot the orb to activate it. Now drive to the second location and look for the orb on the right of the tunnel before going in. Activate it, then head for the third location which looks like a dead-end. Activate the last orb here and a new entrance will appear. Head in to find yourself underwater. Draw a path to the ocean temple on the map. When you get there, a bomb train will appear. Change your path to go around the temple instead. A second bomb train will appear. Just take the other way and continue to the temple. Ocean Temple On the first floor, you can't go right yet because of the falling boulders, so go left into a room with stone tablets and yellow chuchus. If you read the tablets, remember the order they tell (1 is left, 2 is right, 3 is top and 4 is bottom) or write it down on the map. Run across the hallways above to avoid the arrows and head up to the second floor. Go down and stand on the block to cross the chasm. Face north to block the arrows with your shield. Stand on the next block to cross the next chasm, which has four orbs to hit. This is where the order of the stone tablets comes into play. While the block moves to the center, use the boomerang to hit the orbs in this order (left, right, up, down) to open the door on the right. In the hallway on the other side you'll see more falling boulders like on the first floor. However, don't walk up that hallway; just stay where the small fence is and, using the boomerang, draw a path going up to hit the switch above. This is open a trap next to you and close the one near the switch. The boulders will now fall down the south hole, which also changes the first floor. So head back down to the first floor and return to the right corridor that was previously blocked by the boulders. You can now head on so go north to the staircase to wind up in another part of the second floor. There isn't anything there so go down, defeat the yellow chuchus with the boomerang and climb up to the third floor. Here, go left into a room where an enemy will come out. This enemy is using a whip and will grab you with it, tossing you around and towards him. When it pulls you, slash it away with your sword until it releases you. Then use the boomerang to hit it from afar and slash him some more. Repeat until he's defeated. After the fight open the large chest in the center to receive the whip. With this whip, return to the second floor and go down to the bottom of the area. Target the pole above the chasm and cross by tapping the other poles until you reach the other side. Open the chest there for a treasure piece. Return to the first floor now and look on the right side of the area for a weird vine arch with torns. Use the whip on the torns to get them off and head up to find a chest containing a treasure piece. Then go back to the entrance of this floor and use the whip on the pole over the left chasm. Pull the lever inside the statue's mouth with the whip to make a chest appear back near the entrance to the second floor. Go open that chest for another treasure piece. That's it for the treasures. Head back up to the third floor, where you got the whip and go left. Target the pole above the chasm with the whip and use it to cross over to the other side. Go up to the fourth floor. Follow the hallway until you spot a lever into a statue's mouth in the corner. Use the whip to pull it and open the door. Behind, you'll see three paths leading to a lever. Ignore the first two and head up the rightmost one. Pull the lever with the whip to raise a bridge below. Cross and head down to the third floor. Go left and look up for two statues. One has a lever and the other has its mouth open. Pull the lever from the left one to get a sword out of it, then throw that sword into the right statue's mouth. A chest will appear on the left; open it to obtain a small key. A pole will appear over the gap to the right so swing across to return to where you got the whip. Go north and cross the top gap with the whip. On the right, use the whip on the pole then jump on the moving platform. It will take you to a chest with a treasure piece. Grab it, then return west, unlock the gate and continue left to the fourth floor. Pull the lever in the statue's mouth on the left side to open a shortcut south of here. Now cross the chasm on the right by swinging from pole to pole. On the other side, go down to fight two armored chuchus. Simply use the whip to take their shell off, then defeat them and take the stairway to the fifth floor. Start by going left and down to find two whip enemies. Defeat them using the whip to stun them and then hit them. Once they are defeated go left onto the narrow pathway. At the end, use the whip on the lever to pull out some sort of propeller. Use the whip on it and hold on to the lever to stay on while it carries you over to the bottom-left corner of the area. Take the stairs here to the sixth floor. Two silver chuchus can be found in the room here. To defeat them, you need to pull a sword out of the statue head with the whip, then throw it at them. Once they are both defeated a pole will appear on the fifth floor. Go back down and use the propeller to get back to lower ground. The propeller will drop you on the narrow path in front of statues on the wall. Pull the sword out of each of the three statues with the whip to make more poles appear at the top of the room. Now head for the top of the room and use the whip on the vine arch to remove the torns. Cross the large chasm by swinging from pole to pole and go up to the next floor. You'll notice this new floor looks about the same as the previous one. Cross the gap on the right using the poles just like before, except that the last one is lower so you'll need to tap it as you fall down. Once you make it to the other side, hit the switch. Now go forward and look at the emplacements of the statue heads all over the room and note down on your map which have an empty mouth and which have a sword. Then go down and follow the left narrow path. Pull the lever at the end to make a chest appear above with a treasure piece. Then follow the right narrow path and use the whip on the pole at the end to cross. Open the chest here for a small key. Now go back down to the fifth floor. What you must do is make sure both rooms look the same. You'll need to re-arrange the swords in the statue's mouths so that this floor looks exactly like the other floor. The two top rows look the same; the two leftmost statues have empty mouths, then the middle one has a sword, the one on the right has nothing, and the rightmost one has a sword. Just use the whip to get the swords out and throw them into the mouths that need them. Now the bottom-right row must have two swords on each side and the middle statue has nothing in. The bottom-left row must have all empty mouths. Once you've done this correctly the door in the southeast corner will open. Go down and unlock the gate with the key you got. Swing across the gap and head up the stairs on the right to be back on the sixth floor. Use the propeller on the left to cross the pit and grab the big key. Step on the switch to raise a bridge and carry the key over it. Floor masters will appear as you step forward. To get the key across to the door ahead, just drop the key and defeat the closest floormaster, then pick it back up and continue. Drop it again, defeat the floormaster, then bring it to the door as quickly as possible. You'll then be able to reach the top floor. Swing across the gap ahead with the whip, then remove the torns on the arch and head in to face the dungeon boss, Phytops. Phytops - This boss is rather easy. First, you'll need to climb around the mountain using the poles until your path is blocked by a tentacle. Use the whip to remove a torn from it and throw it at the eye to get the tentacle off. Keep climbing up to the top and use the propeller. Phytops will then make its apparition. To defeat him, just do like with the tentacles from before. Remove a torn from the tentacle with the whip, then throw it at the boss. Do this twice to reveal its eye. Do this a third time to hit the eye. The boss will then spin and hit the floor. While it's stunned, attack it a few times until it gets back up. Now just repeat this same process over and over again until the boss is defeated. After the fight get your heart container from the chest, leave the dungeon at once and head for the tower of spirits when you're ready. At this point there is a bunch of extra stuff you can do before continuing with the main quest, but you could always do it later too. I strongly recommend buying the small bomb bag from Beedles in the ocean realm before you move on though. When you spot his balloon on the map, just pull the whistle to make him stop and then stop to get access to his shop. ******************** Stamp Time Ocean Temple - Once you have the whip, a bomb bag and some bombs, you can return inside the Ocean Temple to get the stamp from that place to your stamp book. The bomb bag can be purchased from Beedles and the whip is found within the dungeon. To find the stamp station inside, go back to the second floor (from the west staircase) and immediatly go left to spot a crack in the wall. However, that's not the wall we should bomb. Bomb the wall on the right side instead to crack it open. Inside, remove the torns from the arch with the whip, then use the boomerang to hit the switch across the gap on the right. A pole will appear on the left side. Go back out and now bomb the left wall with the crack. Inside, swing across the chasm using the poles. On the other side, pull the lever with the whip. Then get on the moving platform from the pole to go right and stamp your book at the stamp station. Ocean Sanctuary - Go back to the area with the statue heads and play the song of birds in front of the cave leading to where Carben usually rests. Use the whip to hold on to the bird that shows up and let it carry you up to the cliff above the cave entrance to find the stamp station. Papuchia Village - Play the song of birds where Carben was flying around when you found him and hold on to the bird with the whip until it carries you to the island in the bottom corner. It leads to a new area. In this area, use the birds to fly from island to island until you reach the one in the southwest corner. The stamp station is there. You will also find chests with treasure pieces on the islands. Trading Post - If you hadn't gotten the bomb bag before when you went there, you might want to go back into Linebeck's grandpa cave with the like-likes. In the top-left corner, just jump across the water and bomb the block on the platform. Then get to the stamp station. Wellspring Station - This one can be gotten after you obtain the boomerang. Behind the only house here is some water, and across that water, an ice torch. Using the boomerang, create a path of ice from where you are to the stamp station on the left of the torch. Stamp your book and voila. Hyrule Castle - You can get this one as soon as you have the bombs. Head up the stairway on the right side of hyrule town and blow up the blocks. Go around the wall to the left to find the stamp station. ********************** Loot Time Now that you have the whip, you can return to the ocean sanctuary to get treasure chests you couldn't reach before. In the first area, play the song of birds to call a bird and use the whip to hold on to it until it caries you to that island in the water, which has a chest containing a treasure piece. Then head back to the area with the statue heads and in the top-left corner, you should spot a black bird carrying a pole. Using the whip hang onto the pole and let the bird carry you across to a small isle with a chest containing a treasure piece. Not much, but still. The other treasure chest you can get with the whip is located in Whittleton. In the eastern section of town is a small forest where the stamp station is. You can cross the northern chasm using the pole and the whip to reach a chest containing a random treasure piece. There's something else to get too. If you swing across the eastern chasm and go north, you'll find a man who challenges you to a whip race. Pay 50 rupees to play. Just swing across all the poles, don't fall a single time and you should beat the record of 1:30. Doing so gets you the medium bomb bag. Another treasure chest can be gotten in Anouki Village. Blow up the wall on the right of the chief's hut and enter the cave. Here, push the block on the ice in this order: right, up, right, up, left, down, right, down, left, and up. Now you can cross by jumping over the platforms and reach the chest containing a big red rupee. In the same area, yet another treasure to get is the one in Wellspring Station. At the top of the area, swing across the gap using your new whip to get to a chest with a big green rupee. Lastly, you can return to Hyrule Castle and blow up the blocks up the stairway to the right side of hyrule town once you have the bombs. On each side of the wall surrounding the town you'll find a chest containing a red rupee. You can also get the big bomb bag as a reward for clearing the second level of "Take 'Em All". It's very hard this time around though, with three bosses to defeat, so make sure you bring two red potions with you to refill your health and use the whip as much as possible. ********************** Heart Time Beat the record of 1:15 at the whip race in Whittleton mentioned above to receive a heart container. Tower of Spirits (4th visit) Floor 13 At the tower, climb up the long stairway leading to the 13th floor. You can only collect two of the three tears of light on this floor for now. Start by going right to see a lit torch in the left corner, and an unlit torch in the right corner of the platform the Phantom is walking around. Using the boomerang, trace a path going from the lit torch to the unlit one to light both. This will make a chest appear near the platform above. Collect the first tear of light you can see on your map just north of the torches first, then go open that chest to obtain a small key. Watch out for the Phantom Eyes as you go around, since they will call the Phantoms after you if they see you. You can stun them ahead with the boomerang, but don't bother killing them as they will always respawn. Just try to avoid them or run to safe zones. Next, head up the platform where you just got the key and check the north wall. There are three statues and the middle one has a sword in its mouth. Take it out with the whip and throw it into the right statue's mouth to make a chest appear in the southwest corner of the room. Go back down and walk to the safe zone on the right of where you are. Hit the orb here to raise a bridge back where the chest appeared. You can now go get that chest to obtain another small key, but we'll use that one later. For now, return to the platform where you changed the sword from the statue's mouths and look on the left to see a pole. Use the whip to swing from pole to pole until you can reach the second tear of light on the left side. That's all you can get here for now, so run back to the top-right corner of the area and unlock the door to head up. Floor 14 The third tear of light is located on this floor. Follow the path up to where you can see a Phantom Eye blocking the way. Stun him first using the boomerang from afar, then run past. The second Phantom Eye ahead can be avoided easily by going around the corridor. You'll then see the tear of light you need guarded by a Phantom in the corner. To get it, either lure the Phantom to the left and run around until it loses sight of you so you can go collect the tear, or throw the boomerang to the right to distract it and get the tear of light while it walks away. Once you have it, strike the Phantom from behind to have Zelda take possession of its body. You can now draw lines to the Phantom Eyes to have her warp to their locations. We'll put that to use right away, so walk back to the right side of the floor and check the southeast corner for a Phantom Eye trapped behind a door. Draw a line from Zelda to the Phantom Eye (it works even through walls) to have her warp to there. Then make her step on the switch to open the door and check the chest at the back to find a treasure piece. Now return to the previous floor. Floor 13 (again) The first thing to do back on this floor is get the chest on the right side. Now that you have the Phantom with you, climb up any of the platforms around the area and jump onto the Phantom's shield to get a lift. Walk the Phantom to the right side where the chasm is and target the pole above with the whip. You are now standing higher so you can reach it and swing across. Open the chest to get a treasure piece. Now head for the southwest corner of the area where you should have picked up a key earlier. Unlock the gate on the left side. There's an orb behind. Leave Link next to the orb and switch to Zelda. Draw a path for her to go up north where you can see a Phantom Eye behind the door. After warping there, make her go down to find a second orb on the left. Target it so she hits it, then switch back to Link and hit the other orb. Both orbs have to be hit at the same time and the door will open. Now head up to the next floor. Floor 14 (again) You are now on the other side of the fourteenth floor. Walk south until you come to a pit of sand. Zelda can't cross it in the Phantom body as it's too heavy. Instead, have her stand on the switch above. Cross the sand pit with Link and go stand on the switch on the other side. A bridge will appear. Make Zelda cross it and continue to the right. There are some spikes here, so have Zelda cross them and make her stand on the red circle in the corner. Then switch to Link and go stand on the other red circle in the corner on the right. This will make Zelda and Link switch places. You are now behind the spikes. Go left and pull the sword out of the left statue's mouth with the whip, then throw it into the right statue's mouth to open the door below. Call back Zelda to you and head up to the next floor. Floor 15 First, go south and stand on the yellow triangle. Then switch to Zelda and draw a path for her to cross the spikes on the right. Trace the line all the way to the bottom-left dead-end where another yellow triangle is, on the right of Link. Once both are standing on, they will switch place. As Link, go right and up, past the sand pit. Defeat the zora warrior, then push the block on the left onto one of the two switches at the top of the room. Then go stand on the blue square in the bottom-left corner. Switch back to Zelda and have her stand on the other blue square just north of the triangle. After you switch with her, make her go stand on the other switch where you placed the block. This will lower the spikes. As Link, go into the path where the spikes where and go back up past the sand pit to reach the big gate. Call Zelda back to the gate and push it open with her help. Behind the gate open the chest to obtain a small key. Now return to the center of the room. Go left to find a chasm. You can't see it, but there's an orb switch in the opposite corner across the chasm. Use the boomerang to hit it and a bridge will appear above the sand pit north of the chasm. Now switch to Zelda and make her warp to the Phantom Eye near that sand pit. Cross the bridge and lead her all the way down to the corridor at the bottom. Have her stand on the red circle in the right corner of the dead-end. Switch back to Link and go stand on the other red circle on the right of that one. Once both have switched place, make Zelda warp to the northwest Phantom Eye once again. Cross the bridge again, and head back down again. This time, have her stand on the switch in the alcove on the right to lower the spikes below. Switch to Link and go up the path where the spikes were. Now you'll want to go stand on the two switches above the spikes with both Zelda and Link, but the boulders are in the way. You can use Zelda to block the boulders and then switch to Link. Once both switches are pressed a bridge will raise on the right. That's just a shortcut so ignore it. Go up with Link where the Phantom Eye is near the sand pit. Make sure it spots you and lure it into the north sand pit. The Phantoms will come to get you, but since you are standing in the sand pit, they will drown and disappear. Shake the Phantom Eye off or use the boomerang to stun it, then use the whirlwind to blow it over to the left side of the sand pit. Then have Zelda warp to its new location across the sand pit while it's still stunned. Now you can stand on the two switches with both Link and Zelda and thus open the door leading to the next floor. Return to the center of the room by warping Zelda and unlock the door with the key from earlier, then head up. Floor 16 On this floor, go left and have Zelda warp to the Phantom Eye in the top-left corner of the area. Below is a giant floor of tiles with a green and red tile in each corner. What you must do is check on the map the path that the Phantom on the right side is taking and have Zelda take the same path on the tiled floor. You must start from the green tile and walk over to the red tile in the opposite corner but following the Phantom's path. So starting from the green tile, walk right to the northeast corner, then walk diagonally to the southwest corner (but don't step on the tile in the corner, just cut to the left when you get there), then walk up north back to the green tile (but don't step on it), then walk diagonally to the southeast corner and step on the red tile. If done correctly the door to the last floor will open. Check the pic below if you're unsure. Now head up to the next floor and collect the fire rail map. After a cutscene (finally some action), hop back into the train and head out to the snow realm. A new track has appear to the east, so trace your way there to enter the fire realm. Head onwards to the eastmost location, Goron Village. ---------------------------------- Fire Realm --------------------------------- Goron Village You can't go anywhere in the village for now, but you have access to the shop on the right, where you can purchase the quiver. It's quite expensive and you don't need it now, but we'll be back anyways. So walk to the west side of the village to enter a new area. Watch out for the falling rocks here. Check the corner left of the mailbox where the Goron is to find a chest with a treasure piece behind the stacked metal bars. Continue left and walk past the boulders by hugging the wall when there's an opening. If you continue all the left, you'll come to a clearing with some grass and a switch. Ignore the switch for now and go left. Above the lava is a pole, so use the whip to cross the lava pit. Walk forth on the other side to find another pole ahead. Cross the lava pit to the north and run past the cannibal plants. In the corner of the area is a stamp station. Stamp your book, then go back to that switch from earlier. Hit the switch to raise a bridge, then cross the lava pit using the poles on the left and run across the bridge before it disappears. Follow the path north to another area. After speaking with the Goron here, return to the previous area and go right. Swing across the lava pit here using the poles. Open the chest on the other side at the top of the stairway to get a treasure piece. If you follow the ledge here and go left, then down on the left side of the hole where the boulders are coming from, you will find another chest with a treasure piece. Now you have everything in this area, so go back to the village. The Goron will add a freight car to your train so you can bring back something cold to them. This means we'll be returning to the snow realm, where we'll definitely be able to find something cold. Make your next stop be Anouki Village. Once at Anouki Village, check your map and notice the small lake on the left side of the village. Go there and speak with the Anouki wearing the blue suit. He will accept to get you some ice if you bring him to a place with water. So get back into the train and take him to Wellspring Station. Be careful as you drive since you have a passenger onboard. At Wellspring Station, the Anouki will give you a force gem to thank you. Afterwards, walk to the lake and speak with the Anouki. He will ask you to wait and come back. Just enter the house to the right, leave and then talk to him again and it will be ready. Pay 25 rupees to load the ice into the train's car. You'll start with 20 ice blocks. As you drive across, the ice will slowly melt on the way. You'll need to make it back to Goron Village before it completely melts. Don't hit any enemies either. When you get to the fire realm, you'll notice a bomb train waiting for you near Goron Village. You can't go that way, so take the other route around and avoid the two bomb trains. Get to the village by the north. When you arrive, you need to have at least 2 ice blocks left. Speak with Karagon over on the left side and he will melt some of the lava blocking the way into the village. You can now process forward to the elder's hut at the back. It's the big house on the map. There's also a treasure chest with a treasure piece to get if you follow the upper ledge at the top of the village and then cross the long bridge on the left side. After speaking with the elder afterwards, he will open the way to a cave behind him. Go in. Fire Sanctuary Inside the cave, go right and look on the left at the top of the path to see a pole above the lava. Swing across using the whip and step on the switch on the other side to raise some bridges. Now return to the other lava pit and cross it. Ahead you'll find some jars, don't break them just go past and up the stairs. They are full of Like-Likes. If you go left from here you can open a treasure chest with a treasure piece. When you're ready head out at the top to find yourself in the Fire Sanctuary. Follow the path until you get to deku babas and unlit torches. Defeat the plants, then use the boomerang and light up all the torches along the way to raise a bridge. Go south at the very bottom to find two more unlit torches. Light them up too to raise two more bridges. Go up the stairs on the left and cross the first bridge to the left. Follow the ledge going around the area to find a chest with a treasure piece and a stamp station at the end. Then return to the central platform and take the top bridge going right. You'll arrive at a clearing with stone statues. If you read the stone tablet and look at the statues, you'll see they are all facing the middle one except two of them. The one at the top and the one at the right. Ignore the top one and go stand between the middle statue and the one on the right. Play the song of light (purple, yellow, orange, blue, white) to make a crystal appear and lower the gate. Go in and speak with Embrose. He will teach you a new song (purple, yellow, purple, yellow, blue) to play with him to restore the tracks. Once this is done return to the village to get some info on the fire temple from the elder. Apparently you'll need to retrieve three keys before you can access it. You can now head over to the fire temple, but before that, there is still some lava to get rid of in the village. If you want, you could fix that now by returning to Wellspring Station to get some more ice blocks. You just need to bring back 10 of them, which is rather easy. You can also lower the price of the ice from 100 rupees to 50 by declining the Anouki's offer over and over again until he changes the price. Once you get the 10 ice blocks back to the Goron on the east side of the village, he will clear the lava blocking his house and give you a force gem for your trouble. Now it's time to go get these keys to open the fire temple. Get back on the train and ride east. After going through a cave, you'll see a short scene showing flying creatures carrying each one key. Your goal is to go after these monsters, stop them, and get the keys. To stop a monster, get close to it, then pull the whistle twice: one short whistle, followed by one long whistle. After the monster stops, shoot it with the cannon to receive the key. Go after all three and claim the keys to open the next temple. Once that's done, simply head over to the fire temple in the center of the realm. Fire Temple When you enter this temple, take a left at the first corridor and walk past the obstacles at the end until you emerge in a room that will lock yourself in. Defeat the three Stalfos in here with sword slashes or the whip, then continue through the southern door. In the next room are some enemies you can't defeat, so just walk past them. Also, you'll notice some traps under wooden tiles in this room. Make sure to note down on your map the path that you take to avoid them, as this will be of use later on. Head up to the second floor where you'll find a mine cart. Hop onto it and let it carry you to a chest containing a small key. Take the cart back to the entrance and head back down to the first floor. In the room with the traps, go left and up the stairs west of where you just came from. Before jumping down, use the boomerang to hit the switch on the other side of the corridor. A platform will fall down. Drop down and pick it up, then carry it to the right, past the locked doors. There is a pit there with a small volcano in the center. Throw the platform onto it, then jump on it to cross over. You'll notice a block in the corner. What you need to do is push it right to block the fire, but it's stuck in the corner. So pull it down twice, then push it right, then back up twice, then you may push it right until you get to the other side, using it as a shield to repel the fire. The room below that is a replica of the other room with the traps. If you marked the path down on your map, trace it again on this side, but inversed. Also get the chest at the bottom for a red potion, before heading up the stairs to the second floor. Hop onto the mine cart here, which will pass by two switches on the way. Hit only the first one to be taken to a chest containing a treasure piece. Then ride back to the entrance and hop back into the cart again. This time hit both switches on the way to land next to a Stalfos. Defeat it, then open the chest on the left for a small key. With now two keys in hand, return to the first floor, use the stairs on the right, and walk over back to the entrance where two locked gates are. Unlock both gates to find a switch behind each. You'll need to hit both switches within a certain time, so just stand in the middle and use the boomerang to hit both in one go. After the door in the center opens, move upstairs to the second floor. A mini-boss awaits you there. To defeat it, slash at its head when it comes out, then the turtle will get back inside its shell. It will start spinning towards you; what you must do is get close to the worm enemies crawling around the walls and move away at the last moment so the turtle spins into the enemies and gets stunned. After that, its head will come out again, so you can hit it. Repeat that process a few times until you defeat it. After the battle open the large chest to obtain the bow and arrows. With that, go right and use it to hit the eye on the left of the door across the chasm. A bridge will come out so you can reach the door leading back down to the first floor. Here, first hit the target south of the door with an arrow, which will bounce back on the target on the right, then hitting the eye on the wall. Cross the bridge that comes out, then jump to the right and open the chest to get a treasure piece. Now go back left and hit the target with the boomerang to change the direction it's facing until it faces north. Pick it up and stand on the very edge of the platform to the left. Tap at the platform across the gap on the left to throw the target on top of it, then shoot an arrow at it. It should go hitting the eye on the wall north of there and raise a bridge. Cross, pick the target back up and throw it on the platform north of this one. Then hit it with the boomerang until it faces left. Shoot an arrow at it to hit the eye on the left wall and raise another bridge. Cross and head down through the door. Head down again to the second basement, where you'll face some Stalfos. This part is quite annoying. They will throw bones at you from across the lava pits. First choose one side to start with and wait for them to throw the bones. Avoid them, then take out the bow and shoot both. Their heads will remain. Shoot the heads too to defeat them, but be quick or they will come back. Do the same with the two remaining Stalfos. After the door re-opens, go down and look on the left for a target across the lava pit. Shoot an arrow at it to hit the eye above, which will lower the fire on the right side. Now go right and quickly cross the lava using the whip and the poles above. Once on the other side, go up and left, and defeat the Stalfos. Use the platforms above the lava to cross until you reach the upper ledge on the right. Open the chest here to get a treasure piece, then use the whip on the poles to make your way south on the other side of the closed gate. Step on the switch there to open that door. Now go left and cautiously make your way across the narrow path, avoiding the blades. Follow the path to the very end where you'll find a chest containing a treasure piece. After getting that, look on the right to spot some fire kees and two unlit torches across the lava. Using the boomerang, target the kees and the two torches to light them up. A platform will fall down on the left. Go back there and cross using that new platform to reach the door leading back to the first basement. You'll face two turtles here. This time around though, you can defeat them very easily by simply shooting an arrow at their head when it comes out. After defeating both, open the chest for a treasure piece and read the stone tablets. Note down the order they give you (2,1,4,3), then leave through the left door. Follow the corridor and defeat the Stalfos on your way. You'll come to a switch that, if pressed, will lower the gate on the left, but only for as long as you stand on the switch. That's of no help for now, so go up and pick up the target that was used to shoot the eye previously. Carry it down and place it north of the switch, towards the door. Hit it until it faces left, then go stand on the switch to open the door. Shoot the target so your arrow goes flying through the door and hits the eye behind. Pick up the platform that falls down afterwards and carry it up. Throw it on the small fire spout on the left and wait for it to burst up to cross. The next part is pretty complicated. First, you might want to go back and pick up the target you left where the door is, since you'll need it. Carry it over the fire spout to the new area, which has a big statue in the center, and three fire spouts around. Throw the target you just brought on the fire spout to the right of the statue, then hit it until it faces left (towards the statue). Now look over the top-right corner of the area to find another target. Hit it until it faces northeast, then carry it and throw it on the fire spout south of the statue. This target should be facing the other target, which should be facing the statue. Starting to make sense? Now go grab that platform you placed earlier on the fire spout to climb up there. Bring it to the statue and throw it on the fire spout to the left of it. Stand on this platform and shoot an arrow at the orb next to the locked door. This will make the fire spouts burst up and raise the platform. Shoot an arrow at the target south of the statue, which will hit the other target and then hit the eye on the right side of the statue. Quickly shoot another arrow at the eye on the left side of the statue so both are hit somewhat at the same time, opening the door in the corner. Drop down and open the chest behind that door to obtain a small key. Now hit the orb in the bottom-right corner to raise a pole and go back down. Cross using that pole and go through the door in the center to be back on the first basement. Unlock the door to the left with your key and go on to find a cart. Get on it and you'll circle around a track that goes past four eyes above the stone tablets from before. You should have marked on your map the order to hit them, which is (second, first, fourth and third -- starting from the left). Since the cart circles around, take your time to hit them in the correct order, using the bow. Once you've hit all four, the track will change and you'll reach the next door. Before going down though, get back into the cart to follow another track backwards that will go past an orb in the bottom-left corner of the area. As you pass by, hit it with an arrow to change the track and reach the stamp station in the corner. Stamp the book, then hop back into the cart to return to the second, then third basement. This is the last floor. First, examine the map on the wall on the left. Mark on your map where the five spots are with an X. If you have bombs, blow up the big boulder on the right, if not, go left to pick up the bomb flower and blow it up. Then pick up the platform underneath and throw it on the fire spout. Jump on and hop into the mine cart when the platform raises. On your way, you'll come across three switches. However, you should only hit two of them, the two indicated by the X you noted down on the map. This means only hit the first and third switch, not the second one. You'll arrive at the top part of the area. Start by going up and use the whip on the pole to the left to cross the lava and find a chest containing a treasure piece. Then swing back across to the other side and go back south. You should notice the big key across a gap on the left. Using the whirlwind, blow it over to the left so it lands into the cart there. Then go up and left and jump into the cart above the one with the key. Both carts will trail each other. Now look at your map and, as you did previously, only hit the switches marked as X on the map. This means hit all of the switches on your way except for the third one. If done right, you'll arrive at the boss gate with the key. Unlock it and go down to reach the boss ahead. Cragma - Now this is one huge boss. His fists will be all over the place looking to crush you, so make sure you stay out of their way. Keep an eye on Cragma's belly as once in a while you'll notice a glowing spot on him. When you do, quickly shoot it with an arrow. A big boulder will then fall down somewhere. Look for it and stay close until Cragma is about to bring his fist down on you. Move out of the way at the last moment so it crushes the boulder instead, leaving a small platform in place of the boulder. Pick up that platform and go right. Throw it over one of the fire spouts on the lava, then jump on and get into the cart. While you ride up the cart around Cragma, look for glowing spots all around his body. Shoot all of them with the bow, until you get to the head. Shoot his hands first, then shoot the eye on his forehead. He will collapse on the ground. Slash the weak spot on his head with your sword until he gets back up and repeat the whole process a second time to defeat him. After the battle, open the chest to earn another heart container and leave the dungeon. There isn't really anything else to do for now, so head directly for the Tower of Spirits. Tower of Spirits (5th visit) Floor 18 When you get there, go all the way up the stairs to the eighteenth floor. You should have a bomb bag and some bombs on you by now, if not, you really need to buy some from Beedles at this point if you want to continue any further. On this floor there is only one tear of light to collect for now. Start by going right and blow up the rocks in the way with two bombs. Then head for the bottom-right corner to collect the first tear. Once you have it, now move out to the top-left corner, blowing up the rocks on your way and avoiding the Phantoms. The path above is obstructed by two blocks. Pull the first one left until you move it out of the safe zone, then pull the second one left, then down and out of the way. At the right of the safe zone, step on the switch to make a chest appear. Head to the top-right corner and use the pole to cross and reach the chest, which contains a small key. Now get to the top-middle part of the area and use the key on the door to access the next floor. Floor 19 Walk over to the right side of the room and go up the little flight of stairs. Pick up the orb target here and carry it over to the left side of the room. Avoid the enemy for now and go down. There's a locked door on the left. Put down the target on the beige tile on the floor right of the door. Now go stand on the switch north of there to hold the door open. Take out the boomerang and draw a path to hit the target on the other side of the door until it faces north. But don't touch the other one as it should be facing left. Now shoot the first target with the bow, which will go fly flying on the other target and then hit the eye on the wall above, drawing a bridge on the other side of the room. Get to that bridge and cross it. As you walk down, a Phantom will appear and start chasing you. Run over to the left and move out of the way just as the Phantom is about to crash into the rocks. Get in the safe zone and wait for it to walk away. Then go right and blow up the wall where the second tear of light is. After picking it up, return left to the safe zone and head upstairs to the next floor. Floor 20 The final tear is here, but you'll need to solve a bit of a puzzle first. Start by heading up the stairs closest to the safe zone and using the boomerang to hit the nearest target on the platform south of there until it's facing north. Then clear the room by blowing up all of the boulders in the center with your bombs. Go right afterwards and pull the block there left and up in-between the platform with the sand and the other one. Now go to the bottom-right corner and blow up all the boulders until the target on top falls down. Pick it up and head up the platform with the sand. Jump left on the block you just placed to cross and put down the target on the tile. Go back right and stand on the switch to open the gate across the room, then shoot the target with an arrow, so it goes straight south to the target on the other side, then going left and hitting the target facing north last. This one will send the arrow through the door and hit the eye on the wall, opening the gate on the left. Go get the last tear of light behind, then hit the Phantom to transform Zelda. This one allows her to roll into rocks and other Phantoms. Return to the previous floor now. Floor 19 (again) Trace a path for Zelda to roll through all the rocks on the right and hit the patrolling Phantom. It will stun him for a while so you can run past. Have Zelda roll through all the enemies across the bridge (they will be defeated in one hit of her roll), then have her destroy the statues blocking the path to the left. Get into the room here after getting rid of all the statues and go up the small stairway in the center. From there, hit the target with the boomerang until it faces north, then hit it with an arrow to hit the eye on the wall. Open the treasure chest that appears to get a treasure piece, then head down the stairs in the corner. Floor 18 (again) You're now back in the central room of the floor you started on. There's a lot of work to do here. First, move the small blocks out of the way with Link so the Phantom can pass. Head for the top-left corner and pull the small block away from the big block. Those big blocks can be pushed by Zelda. Draw a line from her to the block, then choose the direction to pull the block. Have her pull and push that big block into the corner where the two switches are, so the block presses both at the same time. Now using Link push down one of the small blocks into the narrow passage leading to the bottom-left corner. After pulling it down as far as possible, you'll be stuck, so have Zelda move the big block to the right so you can get out of there and then go back through the passage and give a final push to the block so it sits on the switch in the corner. Now head for the bottom-right corner and have Zelda go around south of the left big block and have her pull it down once, and the other big block on the right one space up. Then switch back to Link and push the small block above into the clearing to the right in-between the two big blocks. Then push it down onto the switch in the corner. Now go back to the left side of the room where you left
of the small blocks from before. Bring it to the right side as we'll be using it shortly. Just pull it all the way to the top-right corner and place it on one of the two switches. Then stand on the second switch to lower the spikes on the left, since all the switches should be pressed now. Go get the chest behind the spikes to obtain a small key. With that, return downstairs to floor 19 and unlock the door on the right to head back up to floor 20. Floor 20-21 On the right side of the room you'll find the path is blocked by falling boulders. Simply trace a path for Zelda to roll up through that path and have her hit the switch on the left to stop the boulders from coming down. Then head up as Link and you'll come to a room filled with lava, which we can't cross for now. Instead have Zelda roll down through the rocks to the south of this room to find another stairway in the corner leading up to floor 21. In the large room here, step on one of the switches as Link and have Zelda stand on the other. The door will close and some Stalfos will appear. Defeat them with the whip, then zora warriors will appear at their turn. You can defeat them simply by having Zelda roll into them. After that, the door will re-open and four Phantoms will emerge. What you must do is switch Zelda's spirit to one of these Phantoms as the Phantom she currently possesses cannot help Link cross the lava. So just hit one of the Phantoms and have Zelda switch over to its body. Then run back downstairs to floor 20. You can now cross the lava with the new Phantom so have Zelda step into the fire and jump on top of her. Walk her to the wall at the top to spot two poles way up there. From the top of the Phantom you should be high enough to grab into them with the whip. Swing to the ledge on the left, which has an orb target and an accorn. Pick up the target and jump back on top of Zelda. Have her walk to the ledge south of there, on the right side. Put down the target on one of the beige tiles on the upper edge and hit it until it faces to the right. Get back on Phantom Zelda and return to the platform north of there where you picked up the target, swinging your way up there again. Leave Link right here and switch control to Zelda only. Have her walk to the left side to find another target next to the locked door. Make her pick it up and walk down to the ledge southeast of there. Have her stand on top of one of the beige tiles there, still holding up the target above her head. Leave her there and switch back to Link. With the boomerang, hit the target Zelda is holding until it faces to the left. Then using the bow, shoot an arrow at the target you placed down on the right. It should hit an eye on the right wall and open a door on the left. Then quickly shoot an arrow at the target being held by Zelda and it should hit another target on the othe side of the door that opened, hitting an eye on the wall which will open the other door to the next floor. Now swing back across the poles with Link and call up Zelda. Hit her with anything to make her drop the target and then get back on her shield. Cross the lava to the left and go through the new door back to floor 21. Just cross the hallway here after breaking the jars and head up to floor 22. Floor 22-23 Almost to the end. Draw a path for Zelda to walk through the fire around the room to the northwest corner and then the southeast corner where the big key is. Follow up to Zelda with Link, crossing the sand pit to the left. After Zelda picks up the key, floor masters will appear across the room. First, go left with Link and defeat the two first floor masters up the corridor. Then draw a path for Zelda to walk back around the room to where you started. Follow up with Link. Before sending Zelda to the right, head right with Link and shoot arrows at the floor masters across the gap to defeat both of them. Then draw a Zelda for Zelda to walk to the right and have her stand on the circle at the end. Stand on the other circle with Link so both switches places. Then walk Zelda to the gate south of there and make her unlock the door with the key. The floor masters and fire will disappear, so you can catch up to Zelda with Link and head up to the last floor. Break the jars here, then push the big door with Zelda's help and head up for a boss fight. Byrne - Finally you get to face Byrne. He will start by jumping around the top of the arena, sometimes targeting you or Zelda and shooting orbs of energy. Avoid that by running around and wait for him to throw his gauntlet. If the attack misses, send Zelda over and target the gauntlet so she pulls Byrne inside the arena. Hit him a few times with your sword until he gets back up. Repeat the process until he comes down to fight you. Attack him when you have an opening to break his guard, then wait for him to charge an attack. When you see him charging up, hide behind Zelda and she will hold him back. While she is holding him, hit him a few times and repeat the process until he is defeated. After the battle, leave the tower via the exit at the top and climb up to the roof. Following the ensuing scene, Anjean will hand over another Force Gem. You can now travel through the sand realm and gain access to the last temple. So set off to the Ocean Realm. ---------------------------------- Sand Realm --------------------------------- Sand Sanctuary The top part of the ocean realm is actually the sand realm, which you'll emerge into as you leave the tower of spirits. New tracks have appeared, but they don't seem to reach up to the temple. Instead, drive to the dead-end in the middle of the area where the track suddenly comes to an end. As you ride around, keep an eye open for large statues coming out of the sand. There are four located around the desert on the outside of the tracks. Note down on your map what direction they are facing and mark an X at the point they join. Once you reach the dead-end in the center, stop at the station to enter the Sand Sanctuary. This sanctuary appears as a large empty area with lines on the ground. If you pay close attention though, you'll realize it actually looks the same as the sand realm. The lines on the ground are positioned exactly like the tracks on the railmap. What you need to do is place a bomb where you marked the X on the railmap, to reveal a hidden stairway. Heading down the stairway, you'll find Rael the sand Lokomo. Speak with him to be taught the song you'll need to find the next temple. The song plays as follows (green, white, blue, white, blue, green). Practice it a bit, then play it with Rael to learn the song and open up the railmap. The next step is overcoming three trials, so leave the sanctuary and hop back into the train. There is now a track track that appeared in the east leading north to the fire realm. Head along that path until you enter a cave. Trial 1 In that cave you'll face an enemy you already confronted back in the snow realm. It's the same crab enemy, and the same way to defeat it. At first, just shoot its eye repetitively until it collapses. Do this a few times until the crab starts coming at you with its eye closed. This time, you'll need to shoot the explosive barrels set around the cave to hit it first. Just shoot the barrels as it closes by, then it will re-open its eye when it gets hit. Keep shooting the eye, then repeat the process by shooting a barrel first, then the eye, until you defeat it. That was the first trial, so continue to the second one ahead. Trial 2 For this trial you'll need to naviguate your way through a sort of maze. After leaving the cave with the monster, you'll pass through another cave entrance, but which leads to another part of the desert. As soon as you pass through this entrance, immediatly put the train in reverse mode to drive back through the entrance. This will actually leads you somewhere else if you check your map. After emerging there, go backwards again through the entrance. You'll end up in another part, again. Go in reverse once more to go back through and get to another section. Here, just drive forward and then go right at the intersection to finally get out of the maze. In short, you need to go backwards three times, then go right. You'll then make it back to the ocean realm from the other side. Trial 3 At the end of the track, you'll finally come to the temple but the doors are sealed off. The final trial is to destroy all the cannons around the temple so the doors re-open. Note that if you die during this, you'll re-appear at the start of the area and the cannons you destroy will still be destroyed, so you won't have to start over. This makes the challenge quite easy. Simply shoot the cannoballs that are being shot at you first, then aim for the cannons. Drive all around the temple and take them all down. Once they're all gone, the temple will open again, so head inside. Sand Temple Break the pots at the entrance of the temple to obtain a treasure piece, then head inside the first room. If you check the jars on the right, you'll find another treasure piece. The only thing you can do on this floor for now is go right and up the hallway with the falling boulders. Just move right and left to avoid them until you reach a corridor going left near the top. On the other side of the pit, if you stand on the colored tiles on the floor, you'll spot an eye switch on the wall. Aim at it with your bow and shoot an arrow when you get an opening between the boulders to hit it. This can be hard and require a few tries, but once you do, the door on the left will open. Go in the new room and open the chest to obtain a green rupee. It's a trap however, so the door will close on you and Stalfos will appear. Defeat them all with your sword or whip, more will come out of the sand, keep on defeating them until the door re-opens. Another treasure chest will appear; open that one to get a small key. Return to the start of the floor and head up the stairs north of the entrance. Unlock the door here and go up to the second floor. There isn't anything to do on the floor at the moment, so simply follow the path to the right and go up through the corridor with the spinning spike cyclinders, walking in-between to easily avoid them. Head up to the third floor and go down into the room below. This one will lock on you as well, and you'll need to defeat three armed stalfos. There are defeated the same way, so once you're done with them, go through the door on the left and go up the stairway leading to a large chest containing the sand wand. With this, you can raise platforms in the sand. Go back to the room where you fought the stalfos and stand in the top-left corner. Use the sand wand and tap the spot you're standing at to raise a sand platform underneath you. This will raise you so you can reach the ledge above and get out of there. Head back down to the second floor. In the room with the spinning spike cylinders, there are two chests you can get on each side. The left one contains a red rupee and is quite easy to get, simply do as previously and raise a sand platform below you to get to it. The right one is a bit trickier. You'll need to stop the rightmost cylinder right next to the ledge where the chest is, by blocking it with sand platforms. So first make sure the cylinder is next to the chest, raise platforms in front of it to stop it, then get up there with a sand platform, make other platforms around so you can get on top of the cylinder (you can walk onto it like a bridge) and simply use it to cross to the chest, which contains a treasure piece. Now head for the left room, which will trap you in with the two sand creatures from before. However, now you can defeat them. Just use the sand wand on them by holding the stylus onto them until they stun. While stuned, attack them with the sword to defeat them. The doors will then re-open. In the area above, the bridge you used previously is now spinning around, so be careful. First, get up the north ledge with a sand platform, then wait for the cylinder to be in the center of the area and raise some sand platforms on the other side, in the direction the cylinder is headed for to trap it and stop it from moving. You may now cross along it and head back down to the first floor. Now that you have the sand wand, there are three chests you can get on this floor. The first one is above the sand square with the lone boulder, left of the door to the second floor. Simply raise a platform in the top-left corner to reach the ledge above, then another one to reach the chest, which contains a treasure piece. The second chest will require a bit more to obtain. Go left from the floor entrance to find a large cylinder blocking the path. Use the sand wand on the right of the cylinder to make the sand platforms push it to the left until it falls into the chasm at the end. There's another cylinder on the ledge above too. Do the same thing with this one to push it into the chasm. Now that the cylinders are out of the way, go left and stand on the blue tiles. Notice the poles above the chasm and use the whip to swing across to the right. Continue up and go left. There are three eyes on the wall, but two are too high to hit. Using the sand wand, raise yourself up on a sand platform and hit the two eyes with your bow. Then get down and quickly hit the last eye before the timer runs out. The door on the right will open, so go in. There is a cylinder at the top end, and on the right an alcove in-between the walls. Stand in the alcove and push the cylinder down by raising sand platforms north of it. After pushing down the cylinder while you stand on the right, you can now access the north part, which is lower on the left. This means you can get up the ledge there by raising yourself up with the sand. However, you now need to access the other side. Push back the cylinder up using the sand wand, placing it right next to the small stairway into the brown part of the wall. You can now cross over by walking across the cylinder from the stairs. On the other side, go down and do the same thing to head back across to the left side. Continue left and defeat the sand creatures with the wand, as you did before, to make a chest appear. If you go up and use the sand wand to raise yourself up in the small part of sand, you can jump over the fence and check the tablet on the wall, which mentions something about a key being somewhere between one and three. You might want to note that down. Now go open that chest to obtain yet another red rupee. The third chest is located in the room where you fought the stalfos, at the end of the hallway with the falling boulders. Go there using the ledge on the right, then you'll need to shoot the eye on the wall again to re-open the gate to access the room. There also will be new enemies in the room, and you'll need to defeat them if you want the chest. To do so, use the sand wand on them like the ones from before, except that those ones will hide in the sand so they're harder to pin. When you get one, it will get stuned, but atop the sand platform, so you'll need to raise yourself too and make a sand path to reach the enemy and hit it. After defeating all of them the chest will appear on the left ledge. Make a platform to reach it; it contains a red rupee. Now remember the quote about the key between one and three. If you mark on your map the emplacement of the three eyes from before and the emplacement on the eye you just shot, draw a line between them and mark the middle, it actually leads to the area you are in right now. Just south of the chest, there is a long patch of sand. Simply use the sand wand all over the sand there and a key will pop out of the ground. Pick up that small key, then return to the entrance. Now back to business, get your attention over to that sand square with the boulder. Simply move the boulder over to the hammer at the bottom (middle) of the square by using the sand wand to move it. Once it's at the right spot, hit the orb switch to push the boulder with the hammer. It will go crashing into the cracked wall, opening the way to a staircase. Head down to the first basement, where you'll find quick sand on the left. Use the sand wand over it to create a path to safely cross. Unlock the gate with the key you just found and proceed forward. In the room here, stun the two sand creatures with the wand, them pick them up and put them down on the two switches to open the door. Quickly go through before they unfreeze. Ahead, you'll need to make a sand path over the quick sand to cross. First, you might want to go left to find the stamp station at the end. Then return to the starting point and make a path to go right. Once you get to the other side, you'll find a 3x3 sand grid with a block in the corner. You'll need to push the block with the sand wand so the side with the blue triangle goes into the blue square in the middle. To do so, push the block down, right, down, left, up, and then right. The door below will open so go through to the next area. The puzzle here is rather easy. First, lead a falling boulder from the left to the hammer on the right using the sand wand as usual. Then go stand on the switch at the bottom to raise a bridge. Stay on that switch and target the orb switch at the top using the boomerang. Hit it to make the hammer push the boulder, which will roll across the bridge and break the wall across. Now you want to get across, so lead another boulder to the right and place it on top of the switch you were standing on to draw the bridge again while you cross to the next section. In the room ahead are two blocks similar to the one from before, except that they have one more face with a red circle. You'll need to push the blocks around with the sand wand so both of them have the side with the red circle into the red squares, and then that both have the side with the blue triangle into the blue squares. The blue triangles will open the door on the left, and the red circles will open the gate across the sand pit above. First, push the top-left block right, down, down, right, up and right into the hole, then push the top-right block left, left, down, down and left into the other hole. The red door should open. Next, push the left block left, down, right, right, right and up into the next hole, and push the right block left, down, left, up, right, up, left and down into the last hole. The blue door should open. Start by going through the door that opened on the left and cross the hallway with the spike cylinder by hiding in the alcove at the bottom. On the other side, you'll need to fight off some stalfos to make a chest appear, which contains a treasure piece. Then head into the room above which has two spike cylinders moving around. First, stop the bottom cylinder by blocking its side with sand platforms, then get on it by raising yourself at the outer extremity. Cross it like a bridge to reach the switch on top of the ledge below. This will open the door on the other side. Now stop the other cylinder in front of the bottom one and cross both of them to reach the door. In the room ahead, defeat all of the sand creatures the same way you did before to open the gate above. The final room at the top seems empty, but use the sand wand over the area to make rupees pop out of the sand. On the right side, the big key will pop out, and a big green rupee on the left side. Pick up the big key, then return to the area with the two big blocks you pushed over the sand. Drop the key near the quick sand at the top and make a sand bridge over so you can cross to the boss door. You can also make a bridge to cross to the right to find a chest with a red rupee. Then take back the key and cross to the boss door to unlock it. Go down to the second basement and break the jars around to refill your hearts. Then move out to the boss when you're ready. Skeldritch - This boss can be a bit of a pain. He will start by firing boulders at you, which you must stop by using the sand wand to block them. Once you have a boulder, use the sand to lead it to one of the hammers around the area. When it's in place, hit the orb next to it to fire the boulder at the boss. Do this twice to reduce the boss from two levels, then you'll need to change your tactic slightly. Now you'll need to hit the boss from behind. So repeat the same process of trapping a boulder, then leading it to the hammer. Only this time, instead of hitting the orb right away, run around to the opposite side of the area until you have the orb in sight and hit it from afar with an arrow. The boulder will be fired at the back of the boss, lowering it once more. Repeat this another time and the boss will change its attack method. Now the boulders he fires will come faster and he will shoot a laser from its eyes. You'll need to raise more sand to stop the boulders this time, and you'll need to move away quickly so the next boulders coming don't crush the one you blocked. Get the boulder next to the hammer as usual, then get behind the boss and shoot the orb from the other side with an arrow to fire the boulder at the boss's back. Do this one more time to completely destroy the boss's body. Now only the head remains, and it's not over. Use the sand wand and raise sand all around the head to trap it so it can't move anymore. Then raise yourself so you can get to the back of the head and slash the big red diamond behind it. Repeat this process until you finally defeat it for good. Open the treasure chest after you defeat Skeldritch to obtain a well-earned full heart container. Then go down the stairway in the middle to reach a chamber below. At the back of the room, open the other chest to receive the bow of light, which you came for. Use it right away by firing an arrow at the eye on the wall behind. To use the light arrows, just use the bow as usual, but hold the arrow longer until it starts shinning, then release it. This will draw a bridge leading back out of the temple. Get back in the train to report to Anjean. After the scene, she will entrust you the lokomo sword. Now you can make your way back to the tower of spirits for a final visit. Tower of Spirits (6th visit) When you arrive at the tower, climb up the very long stairway to the very top and step into the blue warp to go back to the room where you fought Byrne. Leave that room through the other entrance and head up to the roof of the tower. Stamp your book at the stamp station here, then look around to spot two eyes you'll need you shoot with your new bow. Fire two light arrows at the two targets to make a new passageway appear. Head inside and down to the 30th floor. Floor 29-30 You can't do anything by yourself on this floor at the moment, so head up and down the stairway to floor 29. The only thing to do on this floor is get Zelda inside a Phantom, so just wait at the safe zone until one of them walks by on the left, hit it and have Zelda take over. However, this is just a standard Phantom, so it can't do much. The floor is also too dark and you don't have a torch, so go back up to floor 30. Lead Zelda across the spikes on the right and have her step on the switch on the other side to lower the spikes so Link can join her in the safe zone. Now send Zelda into the lava and hop onto her shield. There are two orbs to hit around the lava pool; one at the right of the safe zone and one at the top. Stand somewhere in-between the two and hit one with the boomerang first, then draw a path to hit the other one. Be quick as you only have a few seconds to hit both. Once that's done the door to the right will open, leading down to another section of floor 29. What you want to do here to switch the Phantom Zelda is possessing so you get the one with the fire sword to light up your path. However, that Phantom is behind a gate on the left. If you look around, there's a tablet in the corner that mentions darkness being the right path. With that information, use the whirlwind to put out all the torches around the room so you're in complete darkness. Doing so will open the door on the left, so you can reach that Phantom. Lure him back to the safe zone and hit it to make Zelda switch bodies. Now you can walk around and see where you're going. Return to floor 30 and cross back the lava. Head back down to floor 29 from this side so you access the other part. With the Phantom, you can now walk to the left side of the floor to find a gate with two unlit torches on each side. Have Zelda light them up with her firey sword and the door will open. Go down to floor 28. Floor 28 First, head up the stairs on the right and go to the north edge of the platform. On the other side of the room are two unlit torches, one on each side. You want to get the Phantom over there, so draw a bridge from the ledge to the rightmost torch using the sand wand, then send Zelda over to light the torch. For the left torch, you can simply use the boomerang and light it up using the other torch. Once both torches are lit, two treasure chests will appear in the room below. Make the Phantom cross back to the other side and head up the small flight of stairs on the right. From there, jump on top of Zelda to land on her shield. You now need to go get these chests, so take out the sand wand and draw a bridge leading to the left chest, while riding the Phantom to it. Once you get to the chest, jump off the Phantom to the platform with the chest and open it to get a treasure piece. Get back on the Phantom and now draw a sand bridge to the rightmost chest, which contains a small key. Now return to floor 29. Floor 29-30 (again) In the northwest section of the floor, there's a hidden passageway that leads to another part of floor 30. That's our next destination. If you have Zelda talk to one of the patrolling Phantoms, they will mention a weak spot in the upper left wall. Just stand in the top-left corner of the room and drop a bomb against the north wall, a bit on the right to blow up a hole in the wall. Before we head in there though, you'll need to switch Phantoms again, so return to the other side of floor 29, where the ghosts are (you'll have to go through floor 30 again and take the other stairway). In the southwest part of floor 29, there's a warp phantom with an eye on the wall behind him. Simply distract him by having Zelda speak with him while you hit him in the back, or lure him away, to make Zelda take control of its body. While you're there, also hit the eye behind with a light arrow. Another eye will appear in another part of the floor, but you can't reach it yet. Now that you have the warp phantom, go back to the other side of the floor where you blew up the hole in the wall and proceed through that new passage. Go on until you reach the left side of floor 30. Here, go stand on the edge of the sand patch and raise yourself up with the sand wand. Then jump on top of Zelda and walk north to the ledge with the switch. Step on it to make some phantom eyes appear around the floor. Then go down and blow up the rocks on the left side to reveal a chest containing a treasure piece. After that, stand on the red circle in the corner with Link and keep an eye on the phantom eye in the part of the room below this one. It will move from left to right across the sand, floating over the other red circle below. When the eye passes over the circle, quickly trace a path from Zelda to it so she can warp directly to the red circle, and thus switch place with Link. Once that's done, walk to the safe zone on the right with Link and wait for the phantom eye to float by. Trace a path from Zelda to it so she can warp to the safe zone, then have her walk through the spikes north of there and make her stand on the yellow triangle in the corner. Go stand on the other triangle below with Link to switch places again. Now head up across the sand and walk to the warp phantom at the top of the room. Make sure he sees you and run back to the sand area. The phantm will follow you and drown in the sand. As soon as it starts sinking, run back to where the phantom was and shoot a light arrow at the eye on the wall to open a door at the bottom of the room. Return down to the triangle symbol to switch back with Zelda, then stand in the sand patch north of the safe zone and raise yourself up with the sand wand. Jump on Zelda's shield and head right through the door that was opened. In the rightmost part of the room, defeat the moblin, then look on the left for a chasm. You can't really see it, but there's a target on the other side. Use the boomerang to hit it twice so it faces north. Then shoot a light arrow at it to hit the eye on the wall north of there, opening the door leading down to another section of floor 29. Go left and shoot the eye on the wall with a light arrow. You should have shot the other one from before previously so a chest will appear on the right, which contains a small key. After getting it, go back left and light up the only unlit torch using the boomerang on another torch. This will open the two locked gates giving access to the other sections of the floor. The next step is having Zelda switch her body for the wrecker phantom in this area. Hit it in the back and have her take over, then go back up to floor 30 where you were. Have Zelda roll into the rocks on the left to crush them and reveal a chest containing another small key. Now you should have three of them. Head back down to floor 29 and look in-between the southeast and southwest parts of the floor to find a staircase leading down to floor 28. There are three locked doors down here. Unlock all three, and start by heading into the rightmost one. The order doesn't matter, but you'll need the wrecker phantom for now. Floor 27 Start by leading Zelda up the path with the falling boulders so she crushes her way through them. At the top of the path, have her hit the orb so the boulders stop falling. You can now head up as Link. At the bottom part of the room on the left, have Zelda crush all the rocks and obstacles in the way. Also, in the southeast corner of the room, you can read a tablet that will give you a clue for later. That's it for this part of the floor, so leave and return to floor 29 to switch the phantom type. Have Zelda transfer to a normal phantom and go back down to the three doors. This time, head into the leftmost one. There's sand all around the entrance, so go down with Link and step on the switch on the left to draw a bridge over the sand so Zelda can cross. Defeat the phantom eye here, then stand on the sand and raise yourself with the sand wand. Jump onto Zelda's shield and go down to the chasm south of there. There's a pole above; use the whip from Zelda's back to reach it and swing across the chasm. Step on the switch on the other side to draw a bridge so Zelda can cross. Head up across the sand and raise yourself with the sand wand so you can reach the ledge on the left. Just make sure the phantom eye is not close by. Hit the target here until it's facing north, then get on the ledge to the right. Hit the warp phantom here from the back so Zelda transfers to its body and get on the ledge, also getting rid of it by the same occasion. Now get on the top of the small staircase on the side with Link and draw a bridge with the sand wand so Zelda can cross to the left platform. Have her pick up the target, then shoot it with a light arrow. It should go hit the eye on the wall above. Now back to Link, hit Zelda with the boomerang to make her drop the target, then go right across the sand and stand on the red circle symbol. Trace a path from Zelda to the phantom eye in the east part of the floor (where you crushed those boulders) to have her warp there. Go up to find another red circle. Have Zelda stand on it to switch place with Link. Now have Zelda stand on the switch above to hold a door open on the right. With Link, go right where the chasm is and use the boomerang to hit the target until it faces north. Then shoot it with a light arrow to hit the eye on the wall. That's all for now, so switch back with Zelda and then have her warp to the phantom eye near the exit so you can both leave the floor. Return to floor 29 and switch Zelda's body to a torch phantom, before returning to floor 28. This time, take the middle path. You'll find four torches in the new section of floor 27. It relates to the clue from before, which basically says to hit the torches starting from the top-left one, the bottom-right one, then top-right one, and then bottom-left one. Just have Zelda hit the first one to light it up, then use the boomerang to hit the one in the middle of the sand and then the chasm, and finally, have Zelda hit the last one between the spikes. This will open the door to the left. Go there with Link and shoot a light arrow to hit the final eye on the wall, which will open the gate above. Before going in, I suggest you head back to floor 29 and switch Zelda to a wrecker phantom, which will really help. When you're ready, follow the path leading down to floor 26. Floor 26-25 Floor 26 will lock you in and several enemies will appear. Just have Zelda go around and smash them all. After a bunch of chu-chus, stalfos will appear. Defeat them the same way, then zora warriors will appear. With the wrecker phantom, you can have Zelda defeat them very easily. The doors will then re-open, so head down to floor 25. Start by running over to the safe zone on the right and wait for the torch phantom to get by. Have Zelda switch her body to his, then go left and make her light up the two torches next to the door in the middle. Phantom eyes will appear around the floor. Now, have Zelda switch her body with the warp phantom, then go left and head over the sand pit at the end of the path. Make sure a phantom eye spots you so it follows you there. You'll be safe since the phantoms can't cross the sand. On the other side of the sand, draw a path from Zelda to the phantom eye on you so she can warp to your location. Get rid of the phantom eye, then stand on one of the switches and have Zelda stand on the other. The gate in the center of the room will open. Now catch the wrecker phantom by behind and make Zelda switch over to this one. Rolling into other phantoms will stun them, so trace a path going to the middle of the room and make sure to stun all the phantoms on the way. Also have Zelda crush the obstacles behind the phantom guarding the gate. As Link, quickly run behind Zelda and bypass the stunned phantoms. You should be able to make it to the door in the center. There's a safe zone there, so you'll be safe once you get there. With Zelda's help, push open the final door and head down to the last floor. Open the chest in the middle to receive the compass of light, which opens up the dark realm. This is it for the tower of spirits, so you can finally leave this place. After getting back into the train, head out to the forest realm and trace a path to the southeast corner, where a new location has appeared under the shape of a black warp. After riding through a cave, you'll get to the dark realm. ---------------------------------- Dark Realm --------------------------------- Inside the dark realm, you'll find several tracks with tears of light and bomb trains. Your first objective is to get rid of all the bomb trains. To do so, you need to collect at least one tear of light, which will make you invincible for a short amount of time, and simply ram into a bomb train during that period of time to crush it to pieces. The first few ones are easy to get as there are many tears of light scattered around, but the two at the top-right of the map are a tad harder to get. You'll just need to make good use of the reverse break and select the right tracks so you get the tear first and then the trains. The last one remaining should be the one in the top-left corner, which will start moving around after you get rid of the other trains. Just wait for it in the top-right corner with the tear, it will pass by after leaving its initial spot. Once all the trains are gone, you'll enter a new area and face a tougher enemy. Demon Train - You'll fight this boss aboard the train. The process is quite simple. The demon train has three wagons, which you will tackle one by one. The first one will drop explosive barrels across the tracks. Drive at a speed that puts you next to the train and shoot those barrels with your cannon before they fall down. This will make the compartments explode. Once all have exploded, the wagon will detach and you'll need to do something similar with the second. Occasionally, the demon train will glow and will start to move across the tracks. When this happens, slow down your train and change tracks to avoid ramming into it. Drive behind until you can get next to it again. There will also be some dark orbs to watch out for on the tracks, so keep an eye on the map to avoid them. The second wagon will shoot lasers at you, so just like the barrels, quickly shoot down the eyes until the compartments explode. The third wagon will be a bit different. Lasers will come out, which you all need to shoot down. Doing so will slow down the demon train, so you'll bypass it and get to the front. When this happens, start shooting the head of the train as many times as possible until it accelerates again. Repeat the same process to shoot the head again until you defeat it. Just make sure you do this quickly as the train will eventually come to a chasm and you'll need to start over if you haven't defeated it by then. After this battle and the ensuing cutscenes, you'll face the actual final boss. Malladus - This battle will be done in three parts. Phase 1: In the first phase, Zelda will accompany you as a Phantom. Her actual body is at the other end of the train, and you'll need to reach it. However, Malladus will be constantly sending ghost mice at Zelda, scaring her off. You can defeat these mice by tapping them to slash them away. If one of the mice gets to Zelda, Malladus will take control of the Phantom and try to attack you. If that happens, use arrows or the boomerang to cut the strings and free Zelda. What you must do is draw a path from the Phantom to Zelda's body at the north extremity of the train, then just protect her by slashing all the mice away, until she gets to her real body. Always stay behind the Phantom, or you'll get hit by a laser, which the Phantom will protect you from. The wagons will also move around, so be careful as you get close to the tip of the train. Just keep on getting the mice away. Once Zelda reaches her body, she'll start spinning around in front of the train. Take out the bow and shoot a light arrow at Zelda's body to get Malladus out. It might take a few tries since you have to actually hit Zelda's body and not the Phantom. Once you do that, a few scenes will take place and a new phase of the boss will start. Phase 2: In the second phase, Malladus will have taken over the body of a large beast. The beast will shoot flamming rocks at Zelda, in the center of the screen. You'll need to stay in front of her and protect her from these rocks until she is done charging up energy. To get the rocks out of the way, simply tap them to slash them away with the sword. The process can be quite hard and requires a lot of practice as you need to be very precise and get the rocks at the right moment. If you're just a few seconds off, you risk getting hit by a rock and the next one will hit Zelda, forcing you to start over from the very beginning. Fortunately, the rocks will often drop hearts so you can replenish your health and keep trying. The rocks will start coming slow, then faster and faster. The boss will also occasionally shoot several rocks at the same time; just use a well-timed spin attack to push all of them back at the same time. Keep the rocks away until Zelda is done charging up the energy and the next phase will start. Phase 3: Before you start the third and final phase, you'll need to accompany Zelda on the spirit flute for a quick song. After repeating and playing the song with her (orange, purple, yellow, blue, orange), you'll be back in the arena with the boss from before. Only this time, Zelda will be able to help you by shooting light arrows. First, place Zelda anywhere on the stage, most likely near the side. You'll need to lure the boss towards you so its back is facing Zelda, so attack it to make it turn around. Keep an eye on the top screen to watch the target on the boss's back go from purple to yellow. When you got it glowing, tap down the bow icon at the bottom of the screen to have Zelda shoot an arrow. Shooting an arrow at the target when it's glowing will land a hit on the boss. You'll need to hit him three times before he collapses on the ground. When this happens, get to the front and slash the boss's head until he gets back up. On the next round, the boss will ram at you and shoot rocks like in the previous phase. Avoid its attacks and keep on luring him to turn its back towards Zelda so you can shoot the arrow at the target. You can also move Zelda around to get her behind him and shoot the arrow; whatever strategy works best for you. A few arrows in the back and few more hits on the head later, the boss will fall on the ground for good. (Now let's make this clear at once: no you cannot save after beating the game.) Enjoy the ending and get on the sidequests! Sidequests Heart Containers Heart Container #1 to 5: You'll receive 1 Heart Container after defeating the boss of each dungeon throughout the game. They are not missable unless you omitt to open the chest after the fight. Heart Container #6: After the forest temple, go to hyrule castle town. Simply defeat all enemies in the rooms ahead without ever dying. At the end, you'll need to beat the boss from the Forest Temple again. Heart Container #7: At the snow sanctuary, you can buy a full heart container for 2,000 rupees from the Anouki shop located there. Heart Container #8: After the snow temple, check the mail box at the entrance to receive a letter from Russell. Now head over to the training room of the castle. If you manage to give 50 hits Russell will reward you with the heart container. Heart Container #9: After Beedle's Air Shop opens, you will receive a member card from the mail after purchasing your first item from him. Everytime you buy something, points will be added to your card and you will become a silver member, then a gold member once you reach 500 points. You will need to purchase 5,000 rupees worth of items from Beedle in order to become a gold member. Becoming one will award you with a heart container. Heart Container #10: To get this heart container, catch at least five rabbits with the rabbit net while driving the train and bring them back to the man in Rabbitland Rescue. Heart Container #11: After getting the whip in the ocean temple, return to Whittleton. In the eastern section of town is a small forest where the stamp station is. If you swing across the eastern chasm and go north, you'll find a man who challenges you to a whip race. Pay 50 rupees to play. Just swing across all the poles, don't fall a single time and beat the record of 1:15 to get a heart container. Heart Container #12: After getting Force Gem #16 by bringing ice to the lady in Papuchia Village, a new track will appear to the north. Drive there to find a new station, Pirate Hideout. Rescue the man trapped inside the cave there by shooting off the moblins and escaping the prison. After which you should take him back to Papuchia Village. If you return to the Pirate Hideout afterwards, a Goron will ask that you save his friend inside. Save him and score 4,000 points or more to receive the heart container. To score higher, shoot moblins in a row without missing a hit. Heart Container #13: After getting Force Gem #20 by bringing cuccos to Rael in the Sand Sanctuary, a new track will appear in the Fire Realm, at the end of which you'll find a new station named Ends of the Earth. There are three caves here with block puzzles inside. If you complete the puzzles inside the left cave, you'll find a chest at the back containing a heart container. Stamp Book Stamp Station #1: In Aboda Village, above Niko's house, hard to miss. Stamp Station #2: In Whittleton, in the small forest in the eastern part of the village. Stamp Station #3: In the Forest Sanctuary, the stamp station is located up the stairs in the top-left corner. Stamp Station #4: In the Forest Temple, on the first floor, in the top-right corner, blow all the miasma away with the whirlwind to reveal it. Stamp Station #5: After you get off the train at Anouki Village, head right go around the empty snow field. Make your way north between the trees in the corner to find the stamp station. Stamp Station #6: At the Snow Sanctuary, on the left side at the top of the cliffs before entering the cave. Stamp Station #7: Inside the Snow Temple, on the first basement floor, in the room with the large pond of water and the torches, draw a path of ice to the corner north of where you start to find the station. Stamp Station #8: Inside the Ocean Temple, after getting bombs and the whip, go back to the second floor (from the west staircase) and immediatly go left to spot a crack in the wall. Stamp Station #9: At the Ocean Sanctuay, go back to the area with the statue heads and play the song of birds in front of the cave leading to where Carben usually rests. Use the whip to hold on to the bird that shows up and let it carry you up to the cliff above the cave entrance to find the stamp station. Stamp Station #10: In Papuchia Village, play the song of birds where Carben was flying around when you found him and hold on to the bird with the whip until it carries you to the island in the bottom corner. It leads to a new area. In this area, use the birds to fly from island to island until you reach the one in the southwest corner. The stamp station is there. Stamp Station #11: At the Trading Post, go back into Linebeck's grandpa cave with the like-likes once you have bombs. In the top-left corner, just jump across the water and bomb the block on the platform. Then get to the stamp station. Stamp Station #12: In Hyrule Castle Town, after you get the bombs. Head up the stairway on the right side of hyrule town and blow up the blocks. Go around the wall to the left to find the stamp station. Stamp Station #13: At Well spring Station, after you obtain the boomerang. Behind the only house here is some water, and across that water, an ice torch. Using the boomerang, create a path of ice from where you are to the stamp station on the left of the torch. Stamp Station #14: In Goron Village, in the second area in the western part of the village, where the cannibal/baba plants are, head up left in the clearing with the switch. Above the lava is a pole, so use the whip to cross the lava pit. Walk forth on the other side to find another pole ahead. Cross the lava pit to the north and run past the cannibal plants. In the corner of the area is the stamp station. Stamp Station #15: In the Fire Sanctuary, after defeating the deku babas and using the boomerang to light up all the torches along the way to raise a bridge, go south at the very bottom to find two more unlit torches. Light them up too to raise two more bridges. Go up the stairs on the left and cross the first bridge to the left. Follow the ledge going around the area to find the stamp station. Stamp Station #16: Inside the Fire Temple, on the first basement floor, in the large room where you ride a cart around, after hitting the switches in the
middle, the track will change and you'll reach the next door. Before going down though, get back into the cart to follow another track backwards that will go past an orb in the bottom-left corner of the area. As you pass by, hit it with an arrow to change the track and reach the stamp station in the corner. Stamp Station #17: Inside the Sand Temple, on the first basement floor, after getting out of the room with the two enemies that you need to lay down on the switches to open the door, go up and cross the sand path using the sand wand. If you go left, you'll find the stamp station at the end. Stamp Station #18: After the sand temple, when you get to the Tower of Spirits for the last time, you will climb up to the roof of the tower, where you'll find the station in plain view. Stamp Station #19: After getting Force Gem #16 by bringing ice to the lady in Papuchia Village, a new track will appear to the north. Drive there to find a new station, Pirate Hideout. At the entrance, play the song of birds to call a bird and use the whip to hold on to it while it takes you up the cliff. The stamp station is right above this cliff. Stamp Station #20: After getting Force Gem #20 by bringing cuccos to Rael in the Sand Sanctuary, re-enter the sanctuary to find cuccos around. Pick up one of them and run over to the southeast corner where the water is. Glide over to the small isle using the cucco, then to the big one to find the station.
