Introduction ##################### Welcome to my first FAQ. I really enjoyed this game so I decided to make an FAQ for it. If you want to quickly find something, then type in the entire line. For example, if I wanted to find Cresselia, then I would type in "12. Cresselia" in Ctrl+F (Find) and the computer would jump to that section. Difficulty is rated out of *****. The more stars, the harder. Just a warning, this guide contains spoilers for the bosses, obviously. ##################### II. Overview ################### _________________ | What is a boss? | A boss is a harder enemy than the average enemies that charge into you. They all have around 3 attacks. Unlike normal enemies that run at you, a boss does not have a small HP bar beneath them. Instead, they have a -much- bigger HP bar near the top of the screen. To beat them, you have to fill this up. _______________________ | How do I beat X boss? | See Section III, it goes in-depth about the specific bosses. ################### General Strategies ################### 1. Power Charge After you get promoted to a Top Ranger, you will be allowed to use Power Charge. This increases the power of your styler so more damage is done to the boss when you circle it, so the HP bar fills up faster. When you reach Rank 9, you get another level of Power Charge. Why am I saying this about Power Charge? It is one of the most useful tools in the entire game. You can simply charge in an area where the boss can't hit you (while it's doing an attack) and then when the attack finishes, go on a mad circling rampage. 2. Cranidos I also HIGHLY recommend having Cranidos as a partner. It is obtained through a Quest, in the Vien Forest. Someone will tell you that Cranidos is being chased by a Wartortle. Capture both and Cranidos joins. It's Poke Assist is flicking gravel. Flick the stylus in the direction of the target as fast as you can. Don't bother circling until time runs out, the gravel will increase the friend- ship meter by itself. 3. Cranidos + Spinirak Combo If you have a Spinirak nearby, capture it. You can slingshot the web at the target very fast, increasing the meter, then recharging the Partner Assist, then using the Partner Assist. It helps a lot, without it I would not have beaten a couple bosses. 4. General Puddle Strategy For lack of a better word, I call the poison circles, mud circles, plasma circles, fire circles, and the other circles that the enemies shoot out "puddles". My general strategy for these is to either avoid them if they are completely in the way of the Pokemon (i.e. if the boss is next to them and you can't circle them) or to do LARGER, SLOWER circles around the puddles. This is because if you do fast circles, you will hit the puddle and take damage, because the faster the circles are, the more closed-in the circles become. o________________________o | | | IV. Bosses | o________________________o ################### 1. Tangrowth ################### Location: Ranger School, Graduation Difficulty: * Attack: Flowers (1 damage) VERY simple fight. Just circle and avoid the attacks. Not hard at all, even beginners should have no trouble. ################### 2. Toxicroak ################### Location: Pueltown Harbor Difficulty: *** Attacks: Sludge Bomb (# damage) Poison Mist (# damage) This one is harder. By now you can have Cranidos. When it does the poison mist, flick the gravel like there's no tomorrow. When it uses Sludge Bomb, deploy the styler behind Toxicroak. The second it ends, circle it as fast as you can. With a little luck, Cranidos's Poke Assist will be ready. The pattern that I remember is hop-sludge-hop-mist. Between attacks, make large circles while it hops, then close in on it. ################### 3. Rampardos ################### Location: Peril Cliffs Difficulty: *** Attacks: Head Smash (# damage) Rock Flick (# damage) Boulder Rain (8? damage) (I believe it does 10 boulders.) Head Smash, it pauses and thrusts its head forward. Rock Flick shoots rocks at you. Boulder Rain makes 10 boulders fall out of the sky. Even harder. But now that's expected. Rampardos moves VERY slowly. Use that to your advantage and circle it while it moves. When it does Head Smash, watch out because it wil damage your styler a lot. When it does Rock Flick, it will throw rocks in the direction of your styler. KEEP YOUR STYLER UP AT THIS POINT. Otherwise you'll take a lot of damage. When it does Boulder Rain, use Cranidos from a distance. It can't move, so flick the gravel as fast as you can. Then recharge and repeat. Be careful, if you cannot use a Poke Assist while it is using Boulder Rain, then the meter will go down a lot. ################### 4. Drapion ################### Location: Cargo Ship Deck Difficulty: ** Attacks: Poison Needles (# damage) Poison Puddle (# damage) Poison Spores (# damage) Poison Needles shoot needles out, simple enough. The puddle makes a puddle (>____<), so refer to the general Puddle strategy. When he uses the Spores, Poke Assist, because it is hard to circle. At around 2/3ish HP, Drapion shoots more Needles and the spores become bigger and stay around for longer, so you should DEFINATELY use a Poke Assist with the Spores. Use Cranidos during the Spore attack. Be careful to avoid the Poison Puddles, they stay around for a long time. Needles aren't hard to avoid. Pretty simple boss, but if you are damaged from the previous 2 fights, it can be harder. If you can, capture a Pikachu or 2 before the fight. Also, a Spinirak helps a ton, if your Partner Assist meter is not filled up completely. **************************************** POWER CHARGE IS NOW USABLE! **************************************** ################### 5. Spiritomb ################### Location: Chroma Ruins Difficulty: **** Attacks: Top Left: Will-o-wisp (8 damage) Top Right: Fire (# damage) Middle: Shadow Ball X (# damage) Bottom Left: Shadow Balls (# damage) Bottom Right: Plasma Puddle (6? damage) If you hit any of the 5 stones, you will take 1 damage. Will-o-wisp sends out a tiny flame that follows your styler in little leaps which prevents you from attacking. Fire sends fire around the screen. Shadow Ball X sends out the Shadow Balls in an X pattern around Spiritomb. Shadow balls shoot out the same Shadow Balls in an oval-ish pattern from the corner. Plasma Puddle creats 2 electric things that stay on the screen (like the Poison puddles Drapion sends out) and they damage you. This fight is HARD. Make sure you have a Pikachu or two. Spiritomb has no weaknesses though, but Poke Assists are effective. Again, Cranidos whenever it is ready, circle otherwise. Don't forget to Power Charge! Do it as Spiritomb attacks; some attacks take a long time to do, so charge up. Don't be reckless though. If you really have trouble, farm experience with the nearby Drifblim and Pikachu. ################### 6. Froslass ################### Location: Almia Castle Difficulty: *** Attacks: Will-o-wisp (8 damage) 4 rotating Will-o-wisp (8 damage) Ice Block (1 or 2) (6? damage) Cranidos. Froslass is weak to Rock. The fight isn't hard if you use it. If you don't have Cranidos, Power Charge while Froslass is attacking then circle when it moves or does Ice Block. Will-o-wisp sends out a tiny flame that will follow your styler (in little leaps) and damage it. The 4 rotating will-o-wisps circle around Frosslass, effectively preventing you from circling it. Finally, the ice block creates a large ice crystal that damages if you touch it. ################### 7. Lucario ################### Location: Almia Castle Difficulty: *** Attacks: Aura Sphere (8 damage) Plasma Puddles (2) (# damage) Punch (# damage) When 3/4 approx. of Lucario's meter are filled, he speeds up and gets more powerful. The punches and Aura Sphere become rapid fire attacks and he shoots 4 plasma puddles instead of 2. Actually, this fight is much easier than Froslass. I didn't even use Cranidos. Lucario is VERY fast though, even without the speed boost. He hops a lot, and he doesn't get ! marks over his head when he attacks. In general though, when he stops, be on your guard. As always, when the Plasma Puddles appear, do large (slower) circles that encompass Lucario AND the puddles. Make sure they are SLOW or you will hit the puddles and take damage. Otherwise, this fight isn't very hard. Just avoid the attacks and be alert. ################### 8. Infernape ################### Location: Boyle Volcano Difficulty: ** Attacks: Lava Tower (1 or 2) (7 damage) Explosion (13 damage) Lava Towers (5) (7 damage) Easy boss. The lava tower attack creates a pillar of lava, not hard to avoid, just follow the general Puddle strategy. Explosion creates a HUGE explosion all over the screen. It willd amage you a lot, so just Power Charge in the corner. When it gets !!! over it's head it will shoot out 5 lava pillar things. These are hard to circle so be careful. Infernape will hop a lot, but then he rests, and then attacks. During Explosion Power Charge in the corner of the screen (as in keep your stylus against the wall) and then circle as soon as it ends. This attack has a lot of lag after- wards. If it does Lava Tower, be careful, it's hard to circle, but not that hard. Overall this fight is very simple. Don't get damaged though, there's a harder boss coming up. ################### 9. Heatran ################### Location: Boyle Volcano Difficulty: *** Attacks: Double Headbutt (13 damage) Explosion (13 damage) Lava Puddle (3 over time)(7 damage) * Fire (# damage) Harder, but not that hard. The double headbutt is simple enough to avoid, but it happens in random directions, so be careful. It also reaches quite far. Explosion is a more explosive version of Infernapes- as in there are MORE explosions. When it stops, don't let your guard down, it might continue. At 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 health, Heatran will summon a lava puddle in the top left corner, top right corner, and middle of the screen. These are PERMANENT unless you have a Dark Poke Assist. Be careful, these are sorta big. * Fire (Star Fire) creates fire in 5 different directions around Heatran, creating a star shape. Just try to avoid it by moving AWAY from Heatran. This attack usually follows the Double Headbutt attack. Heatran is very slow, so use that to your advantage. When it stops, MOVE AWAY FAST. It attacks unpredictably. Avoid the attacks and you should be fine. If you get damaged, don't worry, your Styler gets recharged right after the fight. ################### 10. Kingdra ################### Location: Sea of Wailord Difficulty: ** Attacks: Bubble (1/2/3) (4 damage) Bubblebeam (4 damage) Sound Waves (2) (7 damage) Bubble is the same as the Horsea you had to capture earlier. Very easy, just circle around them and Kingdra. Bubblebeam is easy to dodge, only in one direction, just Power Charge up and it's easy to circle after that. Sound waves shoot out 2 circles that surround Kingdra but don't stay. It's hard to explain this so just keep your styler away from Kingdra. Kingdra attacks a lot so you'll need to circle it when it's using Bubble or in a rare time it doesn't move. The bar tends to fill up quickly- Kingdra is very easy to capture as well. ################### 11. Gliscor ################### Location: Oil Field Hideout Difficulty: *** Attacks: Tornado (2) (6 damage) Mud Puddle (9 damage) Red Charge Headbutt Thing(12 damage) Speed Up (2/3 health) NA Tornadoes (4/7/8) (6 damage) ***After Speed Up*** Gliscor is the next boss. Thankfully, this is not another 2-boss-in-a-row fight. Tornado shoots out tornados, similar to Staraptor. Simple enough. Mud Puddle creats a mud puddle. Basic puddle strategy again is fine. Not hard to dodge, but it is unpredictable. Red Charge Headbutt Thing is when a red star surrounds Gliscor and he charges forward then back. It is VERY fast, so watch out. At 2/3 health, Gliscor starts glowing and speeds up. He shoots 4, 7, or 8 tornadoes all over the screen, and his Red Charge Headbutt Thing becomes faster. Also, more (2 or 3) mud puddles come out. When he stops, lift your Styler immediately; Gliscor doesn't warn you of attacks. As usual, Power Charge in the very corner and then circle during Mud Puddle or when it's moving. **************************************** POWER CHARGE NOW HAS A SECOND LEVEL! **************************************** ################### 12. Cresellia ################### Location: Hippowdon Temple Difficulty: *** Attacks: Rotating Energy Ball (9 damage) Beam (15 damage) Energy Ball Around Screen(9 damage) Rotating Energy Ball sends a shadow ball around Cresellia. It rotates somewhat widely, not too bad though. Beam is a energy beam that moves in a fan shape. Get BEHIND Cresselia for this attack. Energy Ball Around Screen creates the same shadow ball except it rotates around the edge of the screen, so no more Power Charging in corners. Just when you got a new level. >_< Power Charge away from the edges. Very far away, because the 3rd energy ball rotates further into the screen, though still at the edge. Save your Partner Assit though, there's a harder boss coming up, with no break whatsoever, just a bunch of cutscenes. ################### 13. Magnezone ################### Location: Hippowdon Temple Difficulty: **** Attacks: 3 Plasma Puddles (9 damage) Electric Wave (6 damage) Rotating Plasma (6 damage) Just when you thought you could get out of here with Keith, this freaky UFO thing comes. 3 plasma puddles is kinda self-explanatory, basic puddle strategy, blah blah blah. Electric Wave is EXACTLY like Magneton's attack- very simple, just keep away from Magnezone. The third attack is the hardest to avoid. A plasma thing rotates AROUND Magnezone. Normally this wouldn't be that bad, but here it is very wide, so it is nearly impossible to circle it at that time. This is when I reccomend using Cranidos's Poke Assist. If you're lucky, you will be able to use it twice. If the assist gets the gauge up all the way and it says +0 then POWER CHARGE TO THE SECOND LEVEL FIRST THEN CIRCLE IT!!! This way you will get a Charge 2 Capture Bonus and more EXP. Plus there's an added chance of getting S Rank Capture. ################### 14. Electivire ################### Location: Ranger Union Difficulty: ** Attacks: 2 Rotating Plasma Circles(6 damage) Electric Wave (6 damage) 1 Plasma Puddle (6 damage) For the first attack, the plasma things rotate around Electivire. Annoying, but not difficult. Just wait it out. The electric wave is exactly like Magneton's and Magnezone's. Easy enough to avoid. Plasma puddle- you should know the puddle strategy. Electivire is a pushover, you should have no trouble whatsoever. ################### 15. Garchomp ################### Location: Ranger Union Difficulty: **** Attacks: 2 mud puddles (7 damage) 2 swipes (13 damage) Blue Arrow Charge (13 damage) So much harder than Electivire. The mud puddles always seem to prevent you from circling it, but follow the puddle strategy as always. These are more annoying than other puddles though. 2 swipes is like Gabite (remember in Hippowdon Temple) except more powerful and faster. The directions are unpredictable so keep your Styler away or completely lifted. Blue Arrow Charge is when Garchomp has a blue > (arrow) like shape at its head and charges forward. Just lift your Styler or you will get hit. Garchomp is very fast, so Power Charging is a waste of time, as it will move randomly towards your line and break it. ################### 16. Rhyperior ################### Location: Altru Tower Difficulty: *** Attacks: Boulder Rain (9 damage) X Fissure (6 damage) Jump-Shockwave (15 damage) Rock Toss (9 damage) Boulder Rain- remember Rampardos? *insert flashback here* Same attack, boosted power, and WAY more boulders come down- like 20. X Fissure creates a fissure in the ground, like Hippowdon. It's hard to dodge though. Jump Shockwave you've had a lot of experience with. Most fighting types jump and a shockwave thing comes up around them. Simple enough, just STAY AWAY. Rock Toss flings a couple of rocks at you, not hard to avoid. So, basically, Rhyperior has a bunch of familiar attacks with more power. Boulder Rain is the hardest to dodge- they fall everywhere, so only Power Charge in a corner if you feel lucky. ################### 17. Magmortar ################### Location: Altru Tower Difficulty: ** Attacks: Explosion (12 damage) 4 Lava Pillars (5 damage) Flamethrower (5 damage) Explosion is like Infernape and Heatran. Keep Styler up and done. 4 Lava Pillars is like that Blaziken from earlier. Keep Styler up and done. Flamethrower, Power Charge behind it. Then circle. Easy boss. Magmortar attacks very quickly. So when it gets !/!!/!!! over its head then lift your styler right away. Save your Partner Assist though, there is a tougher fight (or 2) coming up. *****CAPTURE A MAGNETON AFTER THIS BATTLE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE ALREADY!***** ################### 18. Gallade ################### Location: Altru Tower Difficulty: **** Attacks: Swipe (9 damage) Razor Projectile (9 damage) Plasma Puddle (2) (9 damage) *****CAPTURE A MAGNETON BEFORE THIS BATTLE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE ALREADY!***** Gallade is hard. It teleports before and after every attack, so keep your guard up. Swipe is NOT a repeat attack; it claws at some direction and hits your Styler. Keep your styler up or away. Razor Projectile shoots a )))-shaped object in a random direction, normally this comes in a group of 4 (2 sets of 2). Plasma Puddle is simple enough, follow the standard puddle strategy. Again, this is a hard fight. Be very careful, it teleports and hops really fast. Never circle during the razor move, it will hit your styler. During Swipe you can make a LARGE circle around him or Power Charge away. Do the same during Plasma Puddle. The puddles tend to last long though. ###################################### 19. Rhyperior, Magmortar, and Gallade ###################################### Location: Altru Tower Difficulty: **** Attacks: Everything they had in the previous battles. However, Rhyperior does not make as many boulders fall this time around. Although this is not a boss, I am including it because many people have trouble with this (and since it is 3 bosses at once). I hope you captured a Magneton like I told you to. First, there is not that enormous health bar at the top. Each Pokemon has an individual small bar at the bottom. But it still takes many loops to capture them. For this group capture, Gallade's Plasma Puddles will REALLY hinder you. They are very annoying when you are trying to circle the Pokemon. Be careful but follow the G****** P***** S******. If you don't know what that means then go back to the start. Focus on capturing Rhyperior first, for one reason, the Boulder Rain attack. There is nothing more agitating than having your Styler lifted for a while and their health bars going all the way down. Power Charge (as usual) and circle like mad. After that get Magmortar. Why? Because it is the easiest. You might say "Get Gallade before to save Maggy for last!" (Yes I said Maggy.) But it is FAR easier to capture Gallade by itself. This is why I am telling you to save it for last. Anyway, Magmortar is a piece of cake, just Power Charge while it attacks then circle while it's moving. It moves slow, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. Oh, also, when it gets ! or !! or !!! over its head, lift your styler IMMEDIATELY. It attacks very quickly. Finally, Gallade. Easy now, when it is by itself with a normal bar. Power Charge during the attacks, blah blah blah. Gallade teleports a lot (before and after each attack) and that's why I'm leaving it for last; if you try to capture a teleporting Pokemon with lava pillars on the screen or boulders falling, well, trust me, this way is easier. Also, remember that warning about Magneton that I told you? To capture one? Yeah, this is why. AFTER THIS BATTLE, GO BACK AND CAPTURE AS MANY MAGNETONS AS YOU CAN FIND!!! ################### 20. Dusknoir ################### Location: Altru Tower, the very top. Difficulty: ***** Attacks: Will-o-wisp (8 damage) 6 rotating will-o-wisps (8 damage) Ghost (puddle?) (8 damage) Shadow Balls (around 15) (8 damage) Dusknoir, the first Pokemon summoned by Blake Hall. This is a very challenging boss, so make sure you have Magnetons. Will-o-wisp, you've seen this attack before. It hops in the direction of your Styler. Not hard to avoid, just annoying, make big loops. 6 rotating will-o-wisps are what gives Dusknoir the ***** difficulty. They rotate AROUND Dusknoir, making it near impossible to circle. This is when you bring out Cranidos or whatever Partner you have. Ghost (puddle?) is a will-o-wisp that transforms into this black smoky thing that stays in one spot. (That's why I call it a "puddle?" Not really a puddle but sort of.) Follow the general puddle strategy, make big loops. This attack is not troublesome at all. Shadow Balls, well, it's like any projectile move. Lift your styler completely, then just circle it as fast as you can AFTER THE ATTACK IS FINISHED. Don't even bother Power Charging, as you have to lift your styler so often that it's not even worth it. Except at the end, remember, always do a Charge 2 Capture if you can. And right after this battle you get to witness one of the most awesome cutscenes EVER. ################### 21. Darkrai ################### Location: Altru Tower, the very top. Difficulty: ***** Attacks: Metal Bit Blast (8 damage) Silver Circle (10 damage) Void -> Poison Circle (8 damage) THIS IS NOT THE POISON PUDDLE! Poison Spike (10 damage) Right after Dusknoir, you're thrown headfirst into a battle with Darkrai. The Magnetons I told you to capture earlier? This is why. At the start of the battle, your circles will do nothing. But keep trying, eventually a cutscene will occur and you will be able to circle it. Oh, by the way, DO NOT USE MAGNETON BEFORE THE CUTSCENE! YOUR STYLER WILL GET FULLY HEALED DURING THE CUTSCENE! Metal Bit Blast is easy to avoid, just get behind Darkrai or lift your Styler. Silver Circle shoots out a huge circle around Darkrai. It is VERY big, so keep your styler up (it's just like Machamp that you had to catch way back when). Poison Circle is just like Houndoom, Weezing, etc. A weird vortex appears in the center of the screen, so then keep your Styler up. After this attack, whenever Darkrai teleports, another Poison Circle will come up momentarily. Halfway through the battle, a huge void will appear at the top edge. This does no damage, but then Poison Spikes will drop down, if you touch the hole then you get 10 damage. Watch out. Use your Partner Assist! Darkrai teleports a lot though. As usual, make sure to get a Charge 2 capture. Congrats, you beat the game! ################### 22. Regigigas ################### Hooray! Thanks to nhahtdh and mtpfreak, I got a Regigigas strategy! nhahtdh says: !!!: 4 chunks near 4 corners - 8 Dam Stay in the corner or lift your stylus. You can do nothing here. Dark assist is a waste if you plan to use because it may do twice during your capture. The best is to use Paused inducing assists. !!!: Rock slide + X Ground - 8 Dam Keep your line in corner or in the left and right border. Or lift your stylus. !!!: X Ground - 8 Dam Keep your line in corner or in left and right border. Or lift your stylus. !!: Hyper Beam - 18 Dam Make way for the big boss to enjoy his repenting. Keep your line in the border where it's unaffected or lift your stylus. !: Focus Punch - 18 Dam Also make way for the big boss by residing where the attack can't hit, make big circle. Or lift your stylus. It walks and rock fall @1/2+HP - 8 Dam Lift your stylus if it's going to hit. You can do nothing about it. Walk - 18 Dam Make big circle to where it's heading for. My strategy (not involving too much avoiding attacks) Use 2 Ground assists. As you circle, don't forget to slide your stylus sometimes to make it paused (also +50% stylus power to HP bar). When the time is almost up (about 1 sec left), slide your stylus to pause Regigigas some extra seconds after assist period ends. When the HP bar is almost full and the assist has not end yet, slide for extra Paused time and then make a Charge 2 capture (make big circle). You won't even see it uses too many attacks. You can achieve S Rank here: 50+/100+ Loops (+10%/20%), Boss Capture, Charge 2 capture (+25%), (No Damage 1-3 (+10%/15%/20%)) Or you can use 2 Rock assist to rapid fire at Regigigas (+50% stylus power to HP bar each successful flick). Work in every situation. Also Charge 2 capture when you see it's the chance. It +25% point, make your capture at least A Rank. Other good assist: Ice, Steel (Ice>Steel, IMO). But you must keep your circling and flicking good throughout the process, and you always need 2 of them (unless you are at very high level, around maybe 80 or 90). You can use Fighting assist for fun (not circling at all, or make safe circling) to get Good Assist Bonus. Electric assist is unstable and too short in time. Psychic is hard to use since you need external circling (my phrase for not including Pokemon in your circle) and flicking while there's little space. Dragon assist is quite slow and its effect is not helping much although the point it adds is very high. Others are hard to use in the situation. Strategy for people who doesn't like to use/insist on not using Pokémon Assist Pretend the figure below is your DS lower screen +-----------+ | | X X | | +-----------+ Charge at the 2 X's' position depends on where Regigigas heads to. No attack can reach you (except its 18 dam stepping and Focus Punch). Circle till you see its warning and depends on what kind of warning it is, you drag the line to a safe position or lift your stylus. When rocks starts falling, keep on circle and lift your stylus when it's danger or simply take a short rest till it stand in one place. Anyway, it will be possible to perform a one-line capture on this boss, the only real trouble is when it starts to drop rocks. It is a slow moving boss with a great deal of HP. This method is advised to try and keep a level 2 charge. Start by charging your styler to level 2 in one of the screens corners. It is safest to loop regigigas when it is walking, be sure to draw large circles around it, as each step has great impact and can do 18 damage. Keep your loops as circular as possible, and avoid looping when it is too close to the edges. Occasionally it will stop to attack, all of it's attacks are pretty easy to dodge. [!] indicates it will punch once, just move your styler away from it. [!!] indicates it will use hyper beam, move your capture line out of range, it will fire towards one of the screens corners.The best way to dodge this is to slide your stylus against the screen edges, making perfect L's or lines. [!!!] indicates it will either create 4 obstacles near each corner, or perform an X shaped attack whilst dropping about 10 rocks. When it does this, immediately retreat your capture line to the bottom of the screen, or to the side furthest from Regigigas (NEVER the top) If it forms obstacles, wait until their disperse and resume looping. The falling rocks will be your greatest obstacle in achieving a one-line capture. If you want an S-rank, the best way is to do 50+ loops and finish with a charge 2 capture. Even if you take damage, you will still get an S-rank as it always counts as a boss capture. Regigigas is a normal type, so only fighting type assists will be effective against it. Otherwise, bring plenty of Magneton along for the ride, as all of it's attacks do a lot of damage.
