First Boss Description: a green, plant-like, enemy with small tentacles. For your very first boss, you'll be facing a terribly weak enemy. The attack pattern followed by this enemy is heavily predictable, and provided you stay away from his path, everything will go just fine. Start by selecting Nobita and his gun, if you've switched to something else after the level (in case you don't know how to do that, it is extremely easy - simply press Start to access the menu, followed by the very first option, and complete by pressing the gun). When it comes to the battle itself, just fire at the enemy, which will make him blink (time during which he is invincible), and then run away from him. Every time he stops blinking, simply shoot him once again, and keep on running away. If the enemy throws some balls at you, hit them with your gun and they'll quickly vanish. When, eventually, both you and your enemy are next to one of the borders of the screen, your foe will jump - you should use that short amount of time to run to the opposite side of the screen, passing below your enemy, before continuing to follow the strategy stated above. Sooner or later, your enemy will start changing his colour, and become slightly faster. Don't worry, that's not a big deal, and if you continue following my strategy this monster will soon go down. 2~. Second Boss Description: a big jellyfish, with a plastic bag covering his head. Just like the previous one, this boss also has a very predictable battle strategy, which makes it extremely easy to defeat. The enemy's only weak spot is his head, which is generally protected by a plastic bag. However, he seems to remove his protection each time he needs to summon the usual four small enemies. In order to end this battle fairly quickly, all you have to do is aim the shots of your newly-acquired weapon at the four small enemies. Once they are all defeated, the enemy's head will be left unprotected for a very short amount of time, and you should obviously take that opportunity to cause as much damage as possible, by targetting the real head with as many quick shots as possible. Be aware that even thought the enemy moves once in a while, it is very easy to dodge his trajectory (even if you get hit, you won't suffer much damage), and since he can only attack those who are exactly in front of him (by throwing one of those four small enemies), all you have to do is keep on eliminating all the surging enemies, using the platforms available in both sides of the scenario as a way to jump higher, and the enemy won't pose you any trouble at all. 3~. Third Boss Description: a big scarab, with its body protected by strong armor. If you don't know what you're doing, this may actually end up being an hard battle. The enemy's skin is able to deflect almost every projectile you throw at him, and therefore the solution relies on defeating him by some other means. You could take a while to figure this one out by yourself, and so I'll spare you the trouble - using the huge, fan-like, leaf that Doraemon acquired in the last level, you should try to strike this enemy from behind. The best way to do that is waiting until the enemy lands and then use the green strings (or whatever you wanna call it...) to jump to his back, before QUICKLY using that attack. Next, switch to Nobita (you can do so by pressing 'X') and use his jumping device, the one you acquired in the very first level. Using it, give a single jump on top of the enemy's belly (you really don't have time for more than one, believe me), which will slightly damage him. Repeat the whole strategy until the enemy goes down, and be aware that if you ever need to heal your character, you can use Shizuka's first skill (tap her, on the lower screen, and then press the first item), which regens your current character's health for a limited amount of time. 4~. Forth Boss Description: a big totem, made of wood. This one is pathetically easy, if you know what you're doing. Simply equip your characters with the "Trampoline Gel" (acess the menu where you can change your character's weapon, press the second option in the upper row, and then look for an item that looks like a can), but be aware that you may need to unequip something else. If that's the case, i.e. when you tap the can nothing happens, simply tap one of the items on the left side (doing so will remove it), and then tap the can again, which will equip it, allowing your characters to jump higher than usual. Then, simply equip Nobita with his very first weapon, keep on jumping and hitting the enemy's sparkling eye, and he will go down fairly quick. If you constantly do this, the enemy won't even have time to strike your character before going down. 5~. Fifth Boss Description: a huge robot, with two long arms and a head placed slightly above the battlefield. For some odd reason, it reminds me of Mazinger. Just like the previous boss, this one has his only weak point in the face, which you must strike for damage. Exactly like in the previous boss, equipping "Trampoline Gel" may be helpful, and if you don't know how to do it, see the information related to the previous boss. This enemy is stronger than the one from before, and he strikes with two powerful moves. In the first one, he targets your character with his aim, and shoots a powerful laser, which you can easily dodge by getting away from its trajectory. In the second one, the enemy throws one of his ears at your character, which may heavily damage you. Constantly using Shizuka's healing skills (either the first or the third one, depending on your situation) is a must, but you should also focus all your attention in dodging the enemy's attacks, since they are more powerful than you imagine. While doing so, you should try to use Nobita's first gun (i.e. his second item) to throw some shots at the enemy's face, but be sure NOT to push the block into one of the holes, since it will make it a lot easier for you to jump and hit the enemy's head. Also, Gian's first skill and Suneo's second may prove to be an important aid in this battle, and you should try using those if you're having trouble defeating the enemy. The enemy may take a while to be defeated, as he is the toughest boss you have fought so far, but provided you're properly healing your character you won't be put into more serious trouble. 6~. Sixth Boss Description: a flying stick, with three spinning heads inserted in the middle of its body. Even thought this is a terribly easy boss battle, it may end up taking a while being a long time. In my personal case, it first took me more than 10 minutes to complete it, and if you're really unlucky (or just unskilled), the same may happen to you. Here, everything relies on getting a specific perfect combination on the spinning enemy - three blue faces - and once you do that, he will suffer some important damage. There are 14 other combinations, and most of those lead to specific attacks from the enemy, but you may disregard all their effects, as you can simply dodge the resulting attacks. Using the ropes placed on both sides of the screen, you can easily go up and down the screen, which makes it easier for you to strike the spinning heads at particular times of the battle. There aren't many hints I can give you here, except that the blue heads usually come up after the red ones, and once you manage to cause a certain amount of damage it will become even easier to hit the right ones. Also, if you have the Nobita's pink gun (I don't really recall its name), be sure to use it here, since its shots can lower the enemy's spinning speed, making it easier for you to hit the proper heads. Sooner or later, the enemy will turn green. Such an event means that you have already passed half the battle, and you should just continue following your usual strategy until the enemy goes down, which may take quite a while. Provided you are properly healing Nobita, this battle won't be very hard, and sooner or later the enemy will be defeated. Yet, don't forget to use Shizuka's first and third skills, as their healing effect is an important aid for this battle. Keep on fighting, trying to achieve the aformentioned target, and sooner or later you'll manage to end this battle, but don't forget that it may take you quite a while, just like it did in my personal case. 7~. Seventh Boss Description: a purplish, flower-like, enemy. He has a big leaf protecting his belly. Here, the main problem is that you'll be playing as Doraemon, who doesn't have any means of directly striking the enemy. Fortunately, there are some ways of damaging the enemy, and you should take full advantage of those, even if his belly is protected by a big leaf. Both Gian's first skill (the baseball one) and Soneo's second (the one where he summons a battleship) are a big help when it comes to damaging the enemy, but there's yet another way to do it. Equip Doraemon with the red cape, which enables you to reflect some projectiles, and whenever the enemy throws a poison ball at you, use that red accessory to reflect it back at him. After two hits, a smaller enemy will appear in the upper side of the screen, and he will start throwing some bombs at you - you should also reflect those to the enemy, as they will help you cause additional damage. However, even though you should be trying to damage the enemy, be also sure to dodge his other attack, where he puts his tentacles below the ground, and which is very easy to predict, since it causes a few disturbances below the floor which it is going to affect, which you can easily spot and dodge. Use Shizuka's healing skills as soon as you need them, and the enemy will go down fairly quick. 8~. Eighth Boss Description: a huge flower, with a strange aura around its entire body. Yet another long battle... an easy one, but it also ends up being fairly long. Be aware that the flower can only be damaged when its aura is coloured light blue, a time that you should take advantage of, in order to quickly strike it twice or three times, depending on your own personal skill. Repeat it until the enemy is down, but you should be very careful with the opponent's attacks, since they are really powerful. There are three different ones: - He will put some energy on the orb seen in the center of the room, which causes no damage at all. However, when the orb has some energy, the enemy may empty it, and use that energy to cause a huge ball, which goes in the direction of your character. The best way to dodge it is by climbing to the top platform seen in this room, but you must be very careful, since the size of that ball depends on the amount of energy collected in the center of the room; - Sometimes, the enemy will cause a huge water fist. If that happens, simply move to the opposite side of the screen, and eventually the fist will stop and hit the floor, making it even easier to dodge; - Finally, later in the battle your opponent may move from one side of the screen to the other one, while shooting water balls that stun Nobita for a short amount of time (you can solve this problem by quickly pressing left/right on your directional pad). The best way to dodge it is by moving as far away as possible, before crouching in the corner, which makes it easier for you to dodge all those stunning balls. If, eventually, you're hit by any of these attacks, fear not. Press Shizuka and use one of her healing moves, either the first one (if your health is around 40%) or the third one (if your health is below 30%), and you will be just fine. Repeat it as many times as required, but you should be very careful with the attacks stated above, since they heavily damage your character, and may lead to Nobita's quick defeat. FAQ. Frequently Asked Questions Some of the questions you, readers, may have... in case you mail me an interesting question and I think that other readers should also hear the answer, your question will be added here and your name will be credited. Q: Is this game going to be released in English? A: Just like the other Nintendo DS Doraemon games, I seriously doubt this one is going to be released in English. Q: What do you consider a "Boss"? A: The enemies mentioned in this guide are those which you can only fight once, as part of the storyline. Q: Why don't you mention the Bosses' names? A: Mostly because there is no way to know that. Since this game is based on a Doraemon movie, perhaps they mention some of the names in there, but in the game itself there is no way to get to know their names, and that is mostly the reason why I've decided to include the description of each boss, instead of their name. Q: Why do you mention the bosses in that order? I fought them in a different one. A: Since some parts of the game allow you to select the order in which you want to take certain levels, it is possible that you may fight them in another order. However, their battle strategy is still the same, and so that order isn't important at all. Q: I really can't defeat this boss, what should I do? A: Checking your items is probably a good idea. Press start, select the second option and try to equip the first three items - they improve your character's health. Also, if you've already unlocked it (and be aware that this isn't acquired as part of the storyline, you need to fuse materials for it), you can use Nobita's "Shocker Gun" against the enemies - it is an amazing help, and more often than not it manages to bring enemies down with very few hits. Q: I completed the game once, and I'm now replaying it. Will the bosses be any different? A: Usually, they will be faster and cause slightly more damage, but the strategies you can use to defeat them are exactly the same. Q: I'm stuck in a certain part of the game, what should I do next? A: Since this isn't a FAQ/Walkthrough, I'm probably not the best person for you to ask that sort of thing. Be sure to remember that this is an easy game, aimed at a younger audience, and it is possible that the solution to your problem ends up being a lot easier than you may be thinking. Q: How do I unlock [insert some item here]? A: Most items are unlocked either as part of the storyline or by fusing materials (press start, during gameplay, and then pick the yellow option). That's all... B_END.
