However, the meat of this game is not the gambling part, but the unlockable minigames and images of the hot casino dealer Rio. If you want to learn how to PLAY slots in this game, you will need to look elsewhere. This guide is intended for those who are only interested in unlocking all the Rio images of the game in the shortest amount of time. The menus in this game are almost entirely in Japanese, and it could be VERY confusing and frustrating to those who don't know the language. With a little bit of experiementation, I was able to figure out the only menu items that matter, namely to start the game, load/save, and the most important feature, AUTOPLAY. Main Menu ============== Upon entering the game, you will be given three options. From the top down: Slot, Minigames, Gallery. Slot ============== This is where the main gameplay takes place. After you select it, you will be given four different types of slots, Joker, Red, Black, Summer. From what I see, the only differences between each machine is the background image and perhaps the side characters that would show up occasionally. It does not affect the unlocking of the images. After you select one of the machines, you will be given a bunch of menu options. The only one you need to know now is the first one, which means "attack" or "challenge", i.e. starting the game. Upon choosing it, you will be given two options, "NEW GAME", and "LOAD". If you have saved the game before, LOAD will be highlighted by default. Assuming that you are new to the game, select the top option (NEW GAME). There will be 7 options, 1-6 and some other one, with the default being 4. Just take the default. There you go, the main game screen. Now what, you may ask. You COULD try playing with the slot, and you will have unlimited credits. I couldn't care less for the slots, but I really wanted to unlock the rest of the minigames. I will go through how to do that in a moment. Should you wish you quit the game at any time, press start, and you will be brought to another menu screen. The second last option is SAVE/LOAD, and the last option is QUIT. After you select SAVE/LOAD, the option on top is SAVE, and the bottom one is LOAD. Select SAVE, pick a save slot, press A, and the confirmation window pops up. The top one is OK, the bottom one is cancel. Loading a game is pretty much the same drill. If you select QUIT, you will once again be presented with the confirmation window: OK/YES up top, NO on the bottom. If you select YES without saving first, it will ask if you want to save. Unlocking the minigames ========================= You unlock a picture by winning each level of the minigames. At the beginning, only 1 level of each game is unlocked. I don't know what's the exact criteria are for unlocking the other mini games, but I know how to do it. All you need is the AUTOPLAY feature. When you are in the main gameplay (slot) screen, press start to go to the option menu. Select the 6th option, AUTOPLAY settings. You will have 4 more choices, select the second one, which controls the autoplay speed. The option on top is NORMAL speed, and the bottom one is HIGH SPEED. Unless you want to watch the occasional animation in detail, choose HIGH SPEED mode. When you go back to the AUTOPLAY options, select the first item, START AUTOPLAY. You will be brought back to the slot screen, with a blinking message in the middle saying that autoplay is in progress. That's ALL you need to do. On the top right of the slot, you will see 2 info windows, BIGxxx and REGxxx. It refers to how many BIG BONUS and REGULAR BONUS that you get. I believe the unlocking of the minigames is directly related to that. Let your DS run overnight, making sure you have the power supply plugged in. You can even close the DS as this game does not have a sleep mode. When you wake up, you should have a lot of BIG BONUSES. I got more than 140 myself in a night. To interrupt the autoplay, press any button. Press start to go to the game options, select the 7th option (LOAD/SAVE), then the first option to save. When you are done saving, select the last option in the menu to leave the main game. You should get a message saying that new minigames have been unlocked. Minigames ============== There are three of them, Black Jack, Find the Difference, and Scratch. Black Jack -------------- Just like regular black jack. The number on the top left indicates how many more wins you need to beat this level. Keep in mind you will get a nice cut scene when you actually get a black jack. If you happen to lose, you will have the option to "challenge again" or give up. Play till you win it all! Find the Difference -------------------- Pretty self explanatory, you will have 2 similar pictures in your top and bottom screens, and you need to point out the differnces in the two pictures within the time allowed. The number on the top left is how many more differences there are in the pictures. If you lose and retry, the differences in the pictures could change. Scratch -------- I don't know if it's even a game, all you need to do is to scratch on the screen with your stylus to unveil the picture underneath. The number on top is how many percent of the picture you need to expose in order to win the level. At the harder levels, there will occasionally be blobs of ink that re-covers the areas you just uncovered. This game is quite stupid and you can beat all levels in a few minutes.
