FAQs Q. How do I damage the Revenants? My weapons do nothing?! A. You must lure it to jump and land on one of the posts to damage it, then you can use the hammer to beat the debris at it. Alternatively, you can wait until he spilts into the little spirits, and use your weapons on the one with glowing eyes. Q. How do I hurt Thaydol? I only do 1 damage to it! A. First off, if you aren't using the bow, you don't have a chance. Once you have the bow and arrow equipped, just pummel him with it. If you only have the basic bow, you won't do any damage at all, so through-out your Jadd adventure, if you dont pick up at least an Iron Bow, do the dungeon again. Once you have the bow, you should be able to inflict some decent damage on him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOSSES ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- iii. Xangar Difficulty: 6/10 Area: The Mana Tower Attacks: - Fly at you either horizontally or vertically. - Shoot fire that seeks hero(ine). - Lauch a column of fire to circle the center of the arena. - After his shield is gone, he can launch projectiles at you that will home into you and paralyze you. (Can also be parried) Strategies: His attacks are rather easy to avoid, you should have no trouble avoiding his flight attacks, and the column of fire, but the homing fire you should look out for. At the start of this battle, a field of mana around him will render him invulnerable to your attacks, but if you persist in hitting him a clip will play, that will show the Sword of Mana fall from the sky and destroy his barrier. Now the fight is on! You can now damage him, by taking a slice at him when he flies past the screen, meeting his at the top of the screen when he is shooting his paralyzing projectiles, or meeting up with him in the center and attacking him. His new attack, the paralyzing projectiles, can be avoided by basically running away from him. kassidynet - (The paralyzing projectiles can also be parried). After a few hits, he will fall to your blade, and you will be confronted by the Mana Lord. ----- iv. Galem Difficulty: 7/10 Area: Star Lake; Topple Attacks: - It will spin the bushes around him, the will hurt if the come in contact. - When it glows, keep moving, it will launch thorny vines out of the ground where you are standing, and you must keep moving to avoid them. Strategies: When this battles start, straight away use your flail's charge attack to pull a spinning bush off it. When the bush is just sitting there, pummel it with your sword to kill it. Rinse and repeat with the rest, and when they are all gone, its eye will open. When this happens, immediately run up to it and slice at its eye. If you are too slow removing the bushes, they will eventually break away on their own, seek you out, and fly into you. Repeat this method, and you will have it down in no time. As a warning, if you stand too close to it when it respawns the bushes, you will take MASSIVE damage from the influx of collisions from the bushes. To avoid being hit by the vines bursting out of the ground, just keep moving around. The vines also linger for a few seconds after sprouting, and can cause small collision damage. ---- v. Thaydol Difficulty: 4/10 Area: Fiery Sands; Jadd Attacks: - Claw swipe, he will just swipe his claw across the screen. - He will launch some blue fires that crawl down the field. - Claw lunge, he will push both of him claws down the centre of the field. Strategies: Very easy! Although the ground is covered in quicksand, his attacks are very easy to avoid, and you will see them a mile away. All you have to do is keep pounding him with arrows, thats it! Simple, and you can get it done in easily less than a minute. If you find you aren't actually dealing any damage to him, you may need a better bow (If you only have the 'Short Bow', you will only deal miniscule amounts of damage to him, so make sure you pick up an 'Iron Bow' while you are doing the dungeon. If you don't pick one up, do it again.) His claw slice attack may seem a bit quick at first, but you will eventually be able to see it coming. Also, if he moves to the front of his pit, he will either launch flames at you, or push both of his menacing claws down the center of the field. Either way, move away from the middle to avoid them. ---- vi. Landmund Difficulty: 2/10 Area: Ice Citadel; Lorimar Attacks: - He can breathe out up to 3 clouds of poisonous gas. You can see this coming, as he breathes in heavily beforehand. - He can smack the ground, and cause icicles to fall around him. - He can roll around (I'm not sure whether this attack is random or if he has a pattern, if someone can tell me, please do). Strategies: This boss is another easy one, with really no strategy. While avoiding the spikes littered around the arena, basically you just maul him with a weapon of your choice. I chose the sword, and I took him out in less than 10 seconds, so I had to do the whole dungeon again to get his attacks! Now, to avoid his attacks is pretty straightforward. When he is breathing in, ready to do his poisonous gas technique, he will only breath it out in the direction he was facing on the intake, so just stand on his opposite side. To avoid the spikes he causes to fall from the ceiling, just keep moving around, and don't stop (although I wouldn't be too worried about getting hit, it only does minor damage). To avoid his final attack is a bit tricky, but you just have to be quick to see where he is moving to, and pay attention to his movement. He can roll left and right, as well as diagnolally either direction. After a few hits (not many really), he will fall to your blade, and you will be confronted with the Mana Lord yet again. ---- vii. The Mana Storm Difficulty: 2/10 Area: Brightwood Forest; Wendal Attacks: - It can damage you by flying into you. (Im not sure about any other attacks, if you know any others please e-mail me) Strategies: The Mana Storm will fly around the field, in a random pattern I believe, just roaming around. When the wind around it is thick, you cant damage it, nothing will hit it. Eventually it will weaken the air around it, which will allow you to attack its core. You can also use the hammer to knock the orbs into it. Don't try hitting it with Magic, I used allmy mana trying to hit it, but unless you can predict where it is going to go, you can't really hit it. It won't deal any damage if you touch it while the air around it is calm, so you should take that opputunity to run up and slice at its core. The strange thing about this fight, is that the Storm lacks any real attacks, so the only strategy I can really suggest is to just stay well away from it until it calms itself down enough for you to hit it. After about 4 or 5 sword combos to its core, it should go down. ---- viii. The Revenants Difficulty: 7/10 Area: The Ruins of Illusia Ilse Attacks: - Any contact with this boss will damage you. - He will plunge a hand (of many) into the ground, which will pop out where you are standing at the time. A shawdow will follow you where this is. Strategies: Alot of people wonder how to damage this boss, and once you know how, it's easy to get him. You must lure it to jump and land on one of the posts to damage it, then you can use the hammer to beat the debris at it. Alternatively, you can wait until he spilts into the little spirits, and use your weapons on the one with glowing eyes. His attacks are easy to avoid, just don't touch him, and run away when you see a shadow trailing along the ground following you. This method isnt really advised, as it is difficult to really hit ANY of the spirits, let alone trying to get to a certain one. The choice is yours, but I personally find hitting the debris of the posts at him a whole lot easier. It should go down in only a little while, either way you choose to kill it. ---- ix. The Mana Lord Difficulty: 7.5/10 Area: The Path of Life Attacks: Universal: - He can use the Mana Sword to attack you. Stage One: - He can launch lightning strikes from the sky at you. They can paralyze you. - He can shoot a wave of energy at you. Stage Two: - He gains the ability to launch balls of mana at you. Strategies: Not much of a strategy to this battle. There aren't really tell-tale signs that he is going to do a certain attack, so you will just have to do the best you can to avoid them. You just have to really plow into him with the sword, if you follow this strategy, he should go down pretty quick, but he kills himself anyway, so its all for nothing! To avoid his lightning strikes, just keep moving (it seems alot of boss attacks are avoided by just running around). If you do get hit, you will be rendered paralyzed. He uses his energy wave if you get close to him, but all it does is throw you a ways away from him. When you deal enough damage to him, he will enter his second phase (indicated by an intermission of him speaker). In this stage he moves much quicker, deals more damage with his sword, and gains the ability to launch mana at you, which can deal quite a bit of damage if you aren't careful. After a little while, he should go down, just hack into him. ---- x. Doppelgangers Difficulty: 5/10 Area: The Cosmic Rift Attacks: Ferrik - Ferrik will tail you and keep slicing at you with his sword which will knock you down. He will occasionally use the sword fury attack on you. Wanderer - Wander seems too slow to keep up, but if you give him time, you will see that he also follows you. He just beats you around with the hammer, somtimes using its fury attack. Poppen - He just seems to stay away for the entire battle, once or twice running in to use his flail. I waited for a good 30 seconds, but he didnt use the fury attack either. Tamber - (If anyone can give me this information, I would be grateful) Strategies: This doesnt require much strategy at all, just use your sword combo on them. For me, each one took only 1 sword combo each, so I can say that they dont have more than 400 HP each, but I'm not sure of the exact amount. If you are playing Tamber, I found the best order to take them out is: Ferrik, Wanderer and finally Poppen. It is alot easier if you take them on 1 at a time, but if this isnt possible, take out the close range ones first (Ferrik/ Wanderer) followed by the longer range ones (Tamber/Poppen). ---- xi. The Scion of Mana Difficulty: 7/10 Area: The Cosmic Rift Attacks: - He can cause inpenetrable bushes to make a maze like formation around the arena, and then launch vines done to grab the hero(ine) which cause a mediocre amount of damage. - His second attack is to fill the level with flowers, and appear in the middle of the level. He will scream, and seeds will rain from the sky at you. When they open, large explosive vines pop out, and these can do a very high amount of damage (400+). - He can fill the level with flowers, and surround himself with an array of man-eating flowers. Strategies: The final fight is at hand! You must use the map to see where he is going to pop-out. Only try to attack him when he is using the attack where he surrounds himself with plants, and, if your up for it, when he sprouts in the middle of the to initiate the attack where will launch seeds at you. You can hurt him with the bow when he is waiting at the top of the arena launching vines at you, although this isnt advised as it does take some time to attack with the bow, and The Scion sends those vines down to grab you pretty quickly and frequently. It is really difficult to avoid the raining seeds from the sky, but the explosion they release is easier to avoid, as the seeds sit for 1-2 seconds before they detonate. The seeds themselves actually raining from the sky don't deal too much damage though. To attack him when he sprouts man eating flowers about, just mow through them and attack him, he doesn't do anything about it, he will just leave after a few seconds. He isn't too tough, and if you just stay on him, he should go down within a few minutes. Good-Luck! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- xii. Thanks! - Thanks to anyone who can get me estimated HP values of any of the bosses and find out if The Mana Storm has any actual attacks! Thanks GameFAQS! - Thanks to Kassidynet for giving me some strategies for Xangar, and for pointing out that I had left The Revenants section open! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- xiii.
