1.-Introduction				1NT

Asphalt Urban GT is a racing game by Gameloft for the
Nintendo DS. It's a surprisingly fun game. Most people
probably bought NFS, but I'd rather play Asphalt UGT,
it's much more entertaining and fun, in my opinion.

The motivation for doing this FAQ is that I couldn't 
find much information about this game online.

This guide was intended to be online only at
www.gamefaqs.com and www.acidmagic.net .

3.-Controller				3CN

The controller is fully customizable by the user.
The default settings are:

D-pad	  -	Steering
A Button  -	Turbo (N20)
B Button  -	Accelerate (Gas)
Y Button  -	Brake
X Button  -	Horn
L Button  -	Rearviewmirror
R Button  -	Change Camera Angle (Top/Back/Driver)
SELECT	  -	Head Lights

And on the Menu:

D-pad	  -	Cursor
A Button  -	Accept
B Button  -	Decline

A lot of people change the Turbo button because they
unintentionally hit the A button while they're playing.
I don't, for me the default setting works best, the
Y-B Button combination is perfect the way it is, and I
never hit the A button accidentally while playing.

Volume Adjust		Controls Master Volume level
			and also for Music & Sound 
			Effects.

Speedometer		Displays speed in Mph or Kmph.

Arcade Difficulty	Sets the difficulty level for
			ARCADE mode only.

Reset Profile		Deletes all the data for the
			cartridge and you'll start 
			from scratch.

5.-Gameplay				5GM

-Try Using a turbo as soon as you start the race.
The most critical aspect here is acceleration, you
want to achieve top speed as soon as possible, and
it's the best chance to mark a difference between you
and your rivals, especially early in the game.

-Drift. Almost all cars handle better drifting than
turning, and you get to charge your turbo bar faster,
and will provide you with a faster curve speed than
regular turning.

-While drifting, feel what you are doing. The best
car to practice drifting is the Nissan 350 Z, it
doesn't go as fast, and turns great. It's my favorite
car to drive in the game, it's incredibly fun.

-To drift, press once the brake button while turning.
On slow cars, I turn, press the brake once but keep on
accelerating all the time: this prevents speed loss
during turning. On heavier and faster cars, you'll have
to brake a while longer when starting the drift, and
also let go of the accelerator for a while, and maybe
even "pump" the accelerator (pushing, letting go, pushing,
letting go...) Rear wheel drive cars have a tendency to
go straight when you press on the gas, so when you are
finishing your turn, release the gas and press it again
and you'll be on a straight line.

-Have you seen those annoying trucks with the yellow
ramps and red arrows? Yeah, those ones you try to avoid
most of the time because they launch you right onto the
nearest wall! Well, if you happen to be next to one, and
you are going pretty slow, jump onto them!!! Regardless
of how fast you are going, they will make you jump at
full speed!!! I noticed this when i crashed a car on the
other lane, stopped completely, went to the back of the
truck at 20 Km/h, and suddendly jumped at over 300 kmph!
It's indeed a nice way to save N20's and improve
acceleration.

Evolution Mode!!!! This is the heart and soul of
Asphalt Urban GT.

You have to work your way through miscellaneous 
tournaments, earning money and with the chance to
improve your cars' specs by purchasing different
upgrades. The most fun thing about Evolution Mode
is that you can play it in many different ways 
every time.

Actually, my favorite part of the game is finishing
it and starting over but always with different cars
on the way. For example, the 1st time I played, I
used a Volkswagen Golf GTI V, and the 2nd time I 
drove a Nissan 350 Z. The replay value in this mode
is awesome.

The first race you'll face is the Saleen Qualification.
Don't get discouraged if you can't make it the first
time: a lot of people failed on their 1st attempt.
The track is Paris, and the good things are:
-you'll only face 3 other cars instead of 7
-all of you have the same car
-the S7 rocks
-there are NO cars at all, no traffic, no trucks...
-the racetrack is Paris, wide lanes, easy turns
-Perfect track to practice drifting!!
-The race is only 2 laps long (2:30 approx.)

After you win that race, you'll receive a Hummer H2.
You'll have 2 choices:
-Race at the Colossus Tournament
-Sell the H2 and race again on the Saleen Tourney

I would race on the Colossus. The cars are slow, so
it's a great chance to get acquainted with the 3 
most common tracks in the game: Cuba, Miami & New York.
I heavily suggest that you learn NY, not by heart, but
as racers do, knowing which turn comes after the other.
This way, N.Y. will be your wild card, even on 
difficult tournaments. You'll win every time on it.

Win the Colossus, and you'll get one of my 3 favorite
cars in the game: the Nissan 350 Z.
It handles like the gods, and it's super fun to drive.
The other cars I love are the fully-tuned

Lamborghini Gallardo (just hit the turbo button and it
will never stop accelerating like crazy, even at 300 
kmph it accelerates incredibly fast) and the

Aston Martin Vanquish (should we take the Aston? James
Bond's car is the fastest car in the game, the only
one that reaches 400 kmph without N20).

Overall Recommendations:

-Enter the tournaments with a stock car, no upgrades,
 since it seems that the difficulty adjusts automatically
 depending on which car you drive.
-Buy parts for your car after you have driven it at least
 once. That way you'll notice the differences
 and take advantage of them.
-Save your money to buy new cars, not parts, since most
 cars will only be able to enter just a few tournaments.

Recommended Strategy:

-Win the Saleen Tourney
-Enter the Colossus, win it and earn a 350Z
-With the 350Z, enter the Urban Cars Tourney, earn a TT
-Buy a TVR Sagaris and race the GT.

My favorite track. It's incredibly easy!
When you start, hit the N20. Then, head slightly to
the right, and you'll go straight trough 2 turns instead
of turning twice. When you see the benches on the left,
hit the brake button and drift to the left, and try to hit
the 3 benches for the extra bonus. There is a long turn
left, avoid hitting the cars on the highway. Open to the
right and get ready to make sharp turn to the left, 
drifting by all means. If you end the turn too open,
you'll be able to hit a couple of crates. Now open to the
left and prepare to turn right. Hit the N20, and get ready
to turn a bit to the left, but try to go straight through
the hairpin, so you don't need to do two quick and short
turns. go straight, and do a U turn to your left,
starting as open as possible from the right, and then hit
the N20, you'll be in the track's straight part. With a
fast car, you should be able to do this in around 40 secs.

on the car. If it's one of the first tournaments, did you
try drifting? If it's one of the last tournaments, you
probably need to learn how to handle better without drifting,
and how to drift perfectly, what to do exactly while you are
drifting, when to accelerate, when to brake, when to turn,
etc.


C-How do I get the nifty Gameloft F1?
-------Easy, you just have to win every single tournament
in Evolution Mode.



D-I don't want to race on the boring Colossus tourney at first.
What can I do?
-------Race the Saleen Qualification Tourney, and when you earn
the Hummer H2, sell it. Then, you'll get $67.500 and a chance
to race again the Saleen Qualification. You can repeat it as
many times as you want!!
It's easy money, $67.500 for 2mins 30seconds of racing!!
You can get any car you want after that.



E-Hey!! what's wrong with the Corvette's price? You listed it
wrong, the resale price is higher than the sale price!
-------No, it's not wrong, it's a glitch. The Corvette C6 sells
