------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------[ VIDEOCART 7: MATH QUIZ 2 ]----------------------- ---------------------------------[by Ice Queen Zero]--------------------------- ------------------------------------[Channel F]-------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- o---------------------o INTRODUCTION o---------------------o I've already submitted the FAQ for Video Cart 6: Math Quiz now it is time for me to take care of the other Math Quiz game, Video Cart 7: Math Quiz 2. This FAQ mainly focuses on you have the system itself and using that dynamite stick that they refer to as a controller but... If you are playing this using the MESS emulator and you don't know the actual controls of the system, I will tell you the buttons to press on the emulator. As you can see, I've contributed a lot of screenshots to the system itself with the MESS. o---------------------o DISCLAIMER o---------------------o Videocart 7: Math Quiz 2 and its characters are trademarks of Fairchild and all copyrights belong to them. This FAQ is the sole copyright of Andrea "Azul Fria" Castillo aka Ice Queen Zero and cannot be put on other sites or posted without my given permission nor can it be reproduced without proper consent. o---------------------o OVERVIEW o---------------------o The is really nothing special about this game except that it quizes you on your Multiplication and Division whereas the previous game Videocart 6: Math Quiz quizzed you on Addition and Subtraction. Some of these answers are tough for those who are just starting to learn math. For my other guides: http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/74803.html o---------------------o CONTROLS o---------------------o Console and Controller Twist Left - change the tens digit/thousands digit Twist Right - change the ones/hundreds digit Left - Make the hundreds and thousands digits availale to work with Right - Make the ones and tens digits available to work with. Button 3(Twist Rigth) - Control the ones/hundreds digit Button 4(Twist Left) - Control the tens/thousands digit Left - Make the hundreds and thousands digits availale to work with Right - Make the ones and tens digits available to work with. Button 5(2) - Division Button 7(Start) o---------------------o GAMEPLAY o---------------------o This is a pretty much straightforward math game. You are asked a question and your job is to get the correct answer. You have two tries to get it right. If you get it wrong it tells you to try again and if you get it wrong a second time, it will pull up the blackboard screen and solve the problem for you step by step. First line of business is the start screen. You will see a G? on the screen. Press 1 on the console for Multiplication problems and 2 on the console for the Division problems. You will then see a screen that says S? Press Start to begin. On the Mess, it's Button 7. Here is only a brief rundown on how the gaming looks. You will see the math problem and below it you will see two question marks that is underneath them. If you want to up the ante on the subtraction problems, press Start on the console. You can use either control to work the game but is more or less a 1-player game. With that you probably are wondering about the two scores below. The left score represents how many questions you have gotten right. The right score indicates how many questions you have gotten wrong. It is not totally necessary but here are the tips for playing Multiplication and Division games. Multiplication... It is obvious that there will be lots of carrying going on. In the manual it gives an example question of 35 x 7. 5 x 7 = 35. Place the 5 into the ones spot and that leaves the 3 which will be added to the tens area. 7 x 3 = 21. Add 3 to the 21 to get 24 so you are going to put a 4 in the tens area and a 2 in the hundreds area and you got your answer of 245. Division... Now the division problems are much more simple than the other games since there is no hundreds or thousands in this game although the game functions like it. In order to get back to changing numbers press right. It is also a tougher game since you have to work backwards to get that number so lets say you get a question such as 72/8. It is the same as ? x 8 = 72 so that makes the answer 9. The score can go up to 99 before it starts over at zero so you can play a bunch of real life minigames for fun. o---------------------o CREDITS o---------------------o Fairchild for making the game.
