------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------[ VIDEOCART 6: MATH QUIZ ]----------------------- ---------------------------------[by Ice Queen Zero]--------------------------- ------------------------------------[Channel F]-------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- o---------------------o INTRODUCTION o---------------------o It's been a while since I bothered FAQing another system. Count this as system number 29 that I've FAQed for and that is the Fairchild Channel F. I got access to the actual system itself thanks to grandpa owning the system prior to mother being to being born. Hell, plenty of old systems I've FAQed or plan to FAQ are older than mom. She was born in 1981 and me in 1995. Teen parentage runs in the family as does FAQing jajaja. Anyway, this FAQ mainly focuses on you have the system itself and using that dynamite stick that they refer to as a controller but... If you are playing this using the MESS emulator and you don't know the actual controls of the system, I will tell you the buttons to press on the emulator. As you can see, I've contributed a lot of screenshots to the system itself with the MESS. o---------------------o DISCLAIMER o---------------------o Videocart 6: Math Quiz and its characters are trademarks of Fairchild and all copyrights belong to them. Button 5(2) - Subtraction Button 7(Start) o---------------------o GAMEPLAY o---------------------o This is a pretty much straightforward math game. You are asked a question and your job is to get the correct answer. You have two tries to get it right. If you get it wrong it tells you to try again and if you get it wrong a second time, it will pull up the blackboard screen and solve the problem for you step by step. First line of business is the start screen. You will see a G? on the screen. Press 1 on the console for Addition problems and 2 on the console for the Subtraction problems. You will then see a screen that says S? Press Start to begin. On the Mess, it's Button 7. Here is only a brief rundown on how the gaming looks. You will see the math problem and below it you will see two question marks that is underneath them. If you want to up the ante on the subtraction problems, press Start on the console. You can use either control to work the game but is more or less a 1-player game. With that you probably are wondering about the two scores below. The left score represents how many questions you have gotten right. The right score indicates how many questions you have gotten wrong. It is not totally necessary but here are the tips for playing the Addition and Subtraction games. Adding... when you it looks like the sum in one place is going to reach over 9, start over from zero and carry the one over to the next place which means you add 1 to the next place. For example: 65 + 87... 5 + 7 = 12, just place the 2 in the ones spot and add 1 to the tens place. 1 + 6 + 8 = 15, place the 5 into the tens spot and that leaves the one to go into the hundreds spot. Thus the answer is 152. Subtracting... When the upper digit is smaller than the lower number, add count the upper digit as having an invisible 1 next too it then subtract it by the lower digit then move over to the next spot and subtract one from the upper digit. For example: 154 - 128... Turn 4 into 14 and subtract by 8 and that leaves us with 6 in the ones spot. Now turn the 5 in the tens spot into a 4 and subtract by 2 thus the answer will be 26 since the 1s will cancel each other out. The score can go up to 99 before it starts over at zero so you can play a bunch of real life minigames for fun. o---------------------o CREDITS o---------------------o Fairchild for making the game.
