Intro -------- I'm HarroSIN ( AKA Harrison Moccio ). I decided to write this FAQ after playin g this game in an Arcade, realizing how fun it was, and also realizing there was NO FAQ for it! This is a very fun game, and deserves to have some light shone on it. ----------- I. The Game ----------- A. Mechanics: This game is similar to the DEER HUNTING series. There is no joystick or buttons, rather, an attached PUMP-ACTION shotgun that is used in game as a crossbow, revolver, rifle, or muzzleloader. Here's a chart of game play: Single Player: Game Start > Select Weapon > Select Location/Animal > Round 1 > Bonus > Round 2 > Ending Game Start: The game begins when you insert money and press the PLAYER 1 button. Select Weapon: You can choose from four different weapons. Select Location/Animal: You can choose which animal you want to hunt, in three locations. Round 1: The first round, consists of six sites. Bonus: Bonus game to earn extra points. Round 2: The second round, consists of six sites. Ending: Final stats, and if you achieved a high enough score, your name in the HALL OF FAME. Multi Player: Game Start > Select Weapon > Select Location/Animal > Round 1 > Bonus > Round 2 > Ending Game Start: The game begins when two people insert money and press both PLAYER buttons Select Weapon. Both players can choose their own weapon. Select Location/Animal: Both players play at the selected location. Round 1: The first round, consists of six sites. Bonus: Bonus game to earn extra points. Round 2: The second round, consists of six sites. Ending: Final stats, and if you achieved a high enough score, your name in the HALL OF FAME. B. Rules Basic: - You must pump your gun after every shot, even at menus, and bonus game. - You must aim directly at the screen, at least one foot away from it. Single Player: - You can only choose one weapon. If you don't, after twenty seconds, you automatically recieve the rifle. - You have only two lives. If you lose both, you can continue by putting in more money, in which you get more lives. - How To Lose Lives: - Shoot a bear cub. - Shoot a female deer. - MISS the target after using up all the shots. - Not shooting at all. Multi Player: - You can choose the same gun. - You both travel to the same location when it is chosen. - This mode is co-operative. If you don't get as many points as your opponent, you will see a sign that says LOSER. THIS DOESN'T MEAN YOU LOSE A LIFE! This just means you didn't get as many points as him. Bonus Game: - You can't lost total points, or go into a negative value. - The FIFTY POINT target only appears once every three games. C. Ranks Your score is determined by the following: Speed: The quicker you are, the more points you get. Number of Shots: The less number of shots, the more points you get. Spot Shot: The closer to the VITAL zone, you more points you get. BONUS GAME: All points gained in that are added to total. Point Rank: 0-499: Try Harder 500-1999: Beginner 2000-4999: Intermediate 5000-9999: Advanced 10000: MASTER D. Hitzones You will notice whenever you finish a hunting spot, an image of a deer or bear shows up with diffrent color shades in it. Let me explain: Each diffrent zone effects the animal in some way: - Light Green: Barely affects the animal, just makes it run - Green: Might make the animal limp, or run slower. - Yellow: Takes two or more shots to kill the animal if hit here with the Rifle or Revolver. The final one is the red VITAL ZONE, which contains special rules: - One hit kill with any weapon, except Crossbow, which can't kill any animal in one hit. - You automaticly get 500+ points. --------------- II. The Weapons --------------- A. Crossbow: Damage: [--X-------] (3 out of 10) Difficulty: [------X---] (7 out of 10) Clip Size: 8 Bolts The Crossbow is the weakest of the four selectable weapons. Although it can hold the most amount of ammunition, it isn't recommended for beginners, but more for advanced players or normal players who aren't trying to achieve a high score. B. Revolver Damage: [-----X----] (6 out of 10) Difficulty: [---X------] (4 out of 10) Clip Size: 6 Bullets The revolver is the second most chosen weapon against any animal. It's a tiny bit weaker than the Rifle (below), but carries two more shots than the rifle. This is the chosen gun for newcomers and advanced players alike. C. Rifle Damage: [-------X--] (8 out of 10) Difficulty: [----X-----] (5 out of 10) Clip Size: 4 Bullets The rifle is the most chosen weapon, as it is more powerful than the Revolver and Crossbow, and comes second to the Muzzleloader (below). This is the gun for intermediate players. D. Muzzleloader Damage: [--------X] (10 out of 10) Difficulty: [------X--] (8 out of 10) Clip Size: 1 Shell The muzzleloader is the most powerful weapon in the game, but only has one shot. It can kill a moose if shot anywhere, and kill a bear if shot anywhere but the light spot, but will eventually kill it or keep it limping. This gun is only for advanced players, as it only has one shot. ---------------- III. The Animals ---------------- A. Bear: Health: 125 Speed: Slow Target: SHOOT - Adult Bear: Big, black. DON'T SHOOT - Baby Cub: Small, brown. The bear is a much slower animal than the moose, but has more health. It's harder to take down. Recommended for beginner to intermediate players. Bear Weapon Graph: A. Crossbow: Vital- 2 Shots Yellow- 4 Shots Green- 6 Shots Light- 7 Shots Summary of Crossbow: Basically, you can unload your whole clip into a bear, and sometimes, it might still walk away. It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to land a direct kill on the vital with one shot, it's only happened twice to me. B. Revolver: Vital- 1 Shot Yellow- 2 Shots Green- 3 Shots Light- 5 Shots Summary of Revolver: Great weapon against the bear. Almost same as rifle, except you get two extra bullets. Rarely, it'll take two shots in the vital to kill it. C. Rifle: Vital- 1 Shot Yellow- 2 Shots Green- 3 Shots Light- 4 Shots Summary of Rifle: Basically the same as the Revolver, but can take down a bear if shot in the light zone four times. Sometimes, you can even kill it with only two shots to the green zone. D. Muzzleloader: Vital- 1 Shot Yellow- 1 Shot Green- Can't Kill Light- Can't Kill Summary of Muzzleloader: Can take down a bear in one shot to vital or yellow zone. Period. On rare occasions, also the Green. B. Moose: Health: 100 Speed: Fast Target: SHOOT - Adult Deer: Horns are long. DON'T SHOOT - Female Deer: Horns are smaller, a little bit lighter than male. The Moose is faster than the Bear, but has less health, which means better chance of killing it. Recommended for intermediate to advanced players. Moose Weapon Graph: A. Crossbow: Vital- 2 Shots Yellow- 3 Shots Green- 5 Shots Light- 7 Shots Summary of Crossbow: Same for bear above, you can waste a whole clip on these. The only major difference is that you can take them down easier. B. Revolver: Vital- 1 Shot Yellow- 2 Shots Green- 3 Shots Light- 4 Shots Summary of Revolver: One shot to the vital, it dies. Identical (almost) to rifle. C. Rifle: Vital- 1 Shot Yellow- 2 Shots Green- 2 Shots Light- 3 Shots Summary of Rifle: Two shots to either yellow or green, you can kill it. Sometimes, one shot to yellow can kill it, very rare occasion though. D. Muzzleloader: Vital- 1 Shot Yellow- 1 Shot Green- 1 Shot Light- 1 Shot Summary of Muzzleloader: Believe it or not, it WILL KILL ANY MOOSE in ONE SHOT! Shot it practically anywhere, and it'll die. It will die instantly anywhere except light, in which it will take a few steps and collapse. But, sometimes they can walk away with this in there, although it is mega rare. -------------- IV. Bonus Game -------------- A. How To Play In between rounds there is a bonus game. You are aimed at a house with open windows. Your objective is to shoot each target out, but avoiding the X's. B. Point Value 5 TARGETS - Five Points Big target, the most common. 10 TARGETS - Ten Points Slightly smaller than the five points target, but also as common. 30 TARGETS - Thirty Points Half the size as the five point target, shows up every three rounds. 50 TARGETS - Fifty Points A very rare target that is not in plain view. It is tiny, and usually hidden behind the house. You can see the small edge sticking out. This appears once every three games. X TARGET - MINUS One Hundred Points The most common target, but most obvious. It's a giant red X... doesn’t shoot it! C. Ranks 0 Points: MISS 1-199: GOOD 200-399: GREAT 400+: EXCELLENT -------- V.
