I am from Hungary so please excuse any language mistakes. I like action-adventure, RTS and RPG games. My favorites are Deus Ex, Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy), the GTA series, Witcher and Neverwinter Nights. I have recently started playing Android games and decided to write this guide for Save the Adventurers. If you have any suggestions or questions about this guide, please send me an email! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* | [1.02] About Save the Adventurers \ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Save the Adventures is an adventure game created by GrapeOcean Technologies in 2014. The game is available on Android and the free version offers 6 missions excluding a tutorial. Further 6 missions are available as an in-app purchase. The game is described as adventure, but it is far from the classical adventure games where the player controls a single character. The player is a god who must aid 3 'clumsy' adventurers on their journey. As a god, you have several powers (spells) available: earthquake, thunderbolt, magic rain, summoning, illusions (invisibility, treasure and monstrosity) and summon avatar. When a mission starts, and you just wait as the story unfold, the adventurers just usually end up dead or failing their mission. You must use your spells to alter the flow of the events and help the adventurers on their quest. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* | [1.03] History \ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* - v0.2: added walkthrough for the first few missions. Uploaded to www.gamefaqs.com. - v0.1: most parts of the game guide were finished *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* | [1.04] Controls and gameplay \ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* *** General *** In the main menu, you can start the game by pressing New Game. If you have any game in progress, you can touch Resume Game to continue your mission. Completed missions can be replay on the Replay Missions screen. The game has no save/load system, although a when a mission is suspended (either by exiting the game, receiving a call, switching to another task, etc), the current mission state is saved. *** In-game controls *** You can control the game using the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. Toolbar items (from left to right): - exit - mission description: review mission objectives and remaining magic energy - help mode - pause: pause game - thunderbolt: cast thunderbolt spell - earthquake: cast earthquake spell - rain: cast rain spell - summoning: summon creature spell - illusion toolbar: opens or closes illusion toolbar Illusion toolbar items (from top to bottom): - invisibility - monstrosity - treasure During cutscenes the toolbar is hidden, and you cannot influence the gameplay. Although it is possible to skip some cutscenes by clicking on the map during a cutscene and pressing skip cutscene. When not in a cutscene, you can scroll and zoom the map, cast spells or pause the game. Pausing the game frequently is recommended to give yourself some time to think. You can also cast spells when paused, however that will unpause the game. To scroll the map just swipe your finger across the screen. To zoom, use a two finger pinch gesture, just like in your gallery app on your phone. To cast a spell, select it on your toolbar and then touch the map. Some spells cover the whole game area, some only affect a small target area, so aim carefully. Each spell require some magic energy to cast. The amount of magic energy represent how powerful you are, and represented by the blue bar above the toolbar buttons. You cannot gain more energy during a mission, but you are getting more and more powerful as you progress in the game. When you summon your earthly avatar, another red bar appear above the magic energy bar. This shows your avatars remaining health. *** Help mode *** Not yet finished. Sorry :( *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* | [1.05] Spells \ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* *** Thunderbolt *** Magic energy: 55 Affects: target area Description: invoke a lightning bolt at the desired area. Damages the target and anyone nearby. It also destroys bridges and lights up parched trees. It does not work indoors (e.g. in dungeons). Hints: You must aim very precisely! *** Earthquake *** Magic energy: 45 Affects: whole map Description: creates an earthquake. Earthquake destroys bridges and weakens other structures. Hints: It also has an effect on the adventurers when their stomach is full :) *** Rain *** Magic energy: 45 Affects: whole map Description: Creates a magic rain. Hint: Some creatures are extremely vulnerable to rain. *** Summoning *** Magic energy: 40 Affects: target Description: Summons a powerful creature to aid the adventurers. The target square must be empty, otherwise the creature does not appear. Hint: Useful in combat situations. *** Invisibility illusion *** Magic energy: XX Affects: target Description: Makes the target creature or object (bridge) invisible. When the target attacks or interacts with someone, it becomes visible again. Hint: It only affects one target at once! *** Monstrosity illusion *** Magic energy: XX Affects: target Description: Creates a monstrosity illusion which inflicts fear into nearby humans. As an illusion, it cannot physically interact with the world. Hint: The illusion is not always perfect... *** Treasure illusion *** Magic energy: XX Affects: target Description: Creates the illusion of a large trasure chest filled with gold. Hint: Pirates like treasures! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~* | [1.06] Hints \ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* - Pause the game to give yourself time to think! - Use Skip Cutscene to skip long cutscenes. For the first few tasks you just have to wait until the time expires. Of course you can (and should) pause the game and practice the indicated game features. The first real objective is to destroy some trolls scattered near the south- west corner of the map. Just hunt them down using your thunderbolt spell. The next objective is to make a farmer invisible. You have to open your illusion toolbar and select the spell. The third assignment is a hard one: you have to prevent some bandits from crossing the river. After closing the dialog pause immediately. This is a move you are going to need a lot in this game :) When the game is paused, cast a thunderbolt on the southern bridge with the bandit on it. The bridge is destroyed and the bandits die. Now quickly pause and make the northern bridge invisible. The bandits will be scared off and go away. You are not given any direct instructions for the final task. You must figure out for yourself based on a short cutscene. Fortunately this is very easy, all you have to do is to use your rain spell once. Congratulations, you have successfully completed your first mission! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* | [2.02] Prologue \ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* *** Story *** "In the age of mythology, you are a god who lost confidence in yourself..." If you start a new game from the main menu, you are presented with the background story. You are a god, who must regain her power by helping three inept adventurers on their journey. The prologue begins with the warrior Adalwulf and the (slightly foolish) mage Zeludonius reuniting with the mighty dwarf Grunrundr in front of a tavern and discussing their last adventure. Grunrundr tells the two about the kidnapped princess Almveig, who had been kidnapped by a powerful dragon. To slay such a beast, the trio needs some magical arrowheads forged by the Simidr, great blacksmith. After a lot of talk, the screen fades as the adventurers embark on their great adventure! *** Guide *** This mission is a cutscene, all you have to do is wait and read the dialogs. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* | [2.03] Visiting Simidr the Blacksmith \ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* *** Story *** The three adventurers travel from Scofarth to the Simidr Mountains to find Simidr the blacksmith and obtain some magical arrowheads to slay a dragon! *** Guide *** Just watch the cutscene with the hunter. This cutscene can be skipped if you replay this part of the mission. The adventurers reach Simidr who gives them their first quest: they must wake up the wizard Tuskonarius, who fell in a long magical sleep. From the dialog, we get a hint, that an earthquake might wake up the poor mage. The cutscene ends and the player receives control. Based on the hint above, cast an earthquake spell. Unfortunately not much happens, but the game continues as the adventurers walk to Simidr's house. By a rash decision, Grunrundr cuts Tuskonarius's favorite pine tree. Tuskonarius appears and threatens the adventurers, who lie, that the pine was struck by a lightning. Tuskonarius starts magically detecting recent thunder energies... Now the cutscene ends and you must quickly cast a thunderbolt near Tuskonarius to fool him. Now, he believes the adventurers and revives his precious pine. Now Simidr is happy as his cousin can help him, and he agrees to forge the arrows for Adalwulf. After a quick battle with the forest trolls awakened by the earthquake, the mission is over. *** Alternate solution *** Just struck a lighning at the tree of Tuskonarius right after the first cutscene (you can recognize the tree by its silverish shade). *** Fun facts *** Try waiting when Tuskonarius has woken up and see what happens :) *** Quick solution *** - Cast an earthquake after the first cutscene - Cast a lightning near Tuskonarius *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* | [2.04] Saving the Princess \ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* *** Story *** After successfully getting the magical arrowheads, the adventurers head to fight the dragon and saving the beautiful princess Almveig! *** Guide *** This mission begins with a bunch of spiders marching across the screen. I guess the developers like Harry Potter :). However, instead of following the spiders, the adventurers continue northeast. Notice, that this cutscene can be also skipped. After some more cutscene, the heroes meet Maria and her cursed uncle Albert. The poor uncle has been turned to a zombie and attacks the party. The game switches to interactive mode. You do not have to do anything, this fight is an easy one. Actually, you must not do anything, otherwise you will run out of magic energy later. The adventurers travel further and encounter a group of royal soldiers just being smashed to small pieces by lightning bolts. It seems something evil takes place in the kingdom! The remaining adventurers are attacked by a pack of archers, sent by Runvior, the evil wizard. Being overwhelmed by the enemy, the adventurers flee into the nearby forest and the archers begin their pursuit. You must help the adventurers to get out of the forest, before the archers slay them. You can do this by casting a lightning into the lonely tree to the right of the forest. Adalwulf takes this as a sign and lead the party to that direction. You must also take care of the pursuers. As the archers march into the forest, use a well placed lighning near the right edge of the forest. Zoom in to aim carefully, you must hit the center of the tree. The whole forest catches fire and most of the enemy archers die. The rest are slayed by the heroes. Now the interactive part if finished, you can relay (at least for a while). The heroes are surprised as they finally find the princess hiding in the forest, accompanied by her loyal guards. It turns out the kidnapping story was fake... however not everything is ok: a story of a rising menace unfolds as the Kingdom is threatened by an evil necromancer called Lady Steinhildr. She became the lover of King Vermundr, Almveig's father and now she has an increasing influence in the Kingdom. She must be stopped! The adventurers decide to go and face this new threat... however, a miscast spell of Zeludonius turns everything into chaos (or rabbits, to be more precise). *** Quick solution *** - After the first cutscene just sit back and wait - Use thunderbolt on the lonely tree east of the forest - Use a thunderbolt to burn the archers searching the forest *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* | [2.05] Finding the Magic Berries \ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* *** Story *** As a result of the mighty sorcery of Zeludonius, the adventurers ended up as helpless rabbits. They must seek some rare magic berries to cancel the effect of the spell. *** Guide *** The adventurers arrive to the Woods of Berry-eater Deer. We see our hunter friend from Simidr Mountains (the cutscene as well as most of the cutscenes in this mission are skippable) but luckily he is not in the mood to hunt rabbits. Soon you gain control as the adventurers start walking to east. You might notice some piles of dirt up on the road. If you let the adventurers approach, it turns out some venomous worms hide underneath. You must take care of them before the party reach them. As all earthworms, these come out to the surface when it is wet... so use a rain spell to create some mud. Then you must use your newly gained summoning spell to summon a creature to kill the worms. It seems the creature is immune to the venom of the worms. Now our brave rabbits safely reach the berries and they are turned back to their normal forms. However, the mission is far from over. Our clumsy heroes reach a tavern. Once again, things turn bad as Zeludonius lends Adalwulf's bow to a stranger while the other two drink beers. Thing get even worse as a wandering peasant accuses Zeludonius of turning his donkey's color into nice dark blue. If you listen carefully to the dialogs, it is clear, that someone painted the donkey. You must use the rain spell to wash the paint and clear the donkey. As a result, Adalwulf gets a shiny new club, a nice replacement for his bow. After this little incident, the adventurers continue to west. Unfortunately they stop for a small picnic and eat some apparently poisonous mushrooms. Before they die of food poisoning, quickly make an earthquake to stir up their stomach and make the bad food leave. Now one last surprise awaits as the adventurers continue, but luckily you don't have to intervene this time - you are out of magic energy anyway. *** Quick solution *** - use rain to lure out the worms - summon a creature next to them - use the rain spell to clear the donkey - use an earthquake after the adventurers consumed the mushrooms *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* | [2.06] Retrieving the Weapons \ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Not yet finished.
