================================================ = FIRE EMBLEM: AWAKENING OPTIMAL PAIRING GUIDE = ================================================ Fire Emblem: Awakening For Nintendo 3DS Optimal Pairing Guide Created by: SSJDennis, aka Dennis van Gorkom E-mail: dennisvangorkom@hotmail.com =================== = 01 - INTRO - 01 = =================== Hi all, welcome to my new and improved "optimal pairing" guide. I should've updated this FAQ years ago... But I never had the time. Fire Emblem: Fates is out in Europe, I say goodbye to this game one more time. New pairing, better options. I've been playing much Lunatic+ lately. And also been trying to speed run (low turn count) through Lunatic for a couple of times. What is most important in this, is making sure you HIT and KILL. Defense is not near as important, as you're getting killed "easily" anyway (especially in Lunatic+). Most of this setup will be OVERKILL for Hard or Normal. IF I find the time, I will try to determine better pairings for lower difficulties. But since everyone wants to prepare for Apotheosis anyway... Hope you guys like the new settings, if you have any suggestions, please let me know. What makes a good pairing? Those are the questions I have been asking myself. Most important are skills. -Strong skills? -ANY ~faire, as long as it does boost your strength. -Limit Breaker. -Galeforce (normally female only). -Aggressor (male only). -Luna (on main attackers). What about stats? -Speed matters. How to boost speed? -Limit Breaker (+10) -Rally Spectrum (+4) -Rally Speed (+4) -Rally Heart (+2) -All Stats+2 (+2) -Speed+2 (+2) -Speed Tonic (+2) -Partner stats (+3, if partner has at least 30 speed unboosted) -Support stats (+2, if partner has at least A-support) -Class pair-up (depends on partner, example; Dark Flier gives +3, Sage +0) You need 75(!) to be able to double EVERY enemy. This means you will need at least 48 base speed without Limit Breaker, or less for every support and/or skill you equip. This is way Sages are allowed to have lower base speed, because Dark Flier gives a great boost. So if you're a Sage, paired with a Dark Flier, you will "ONLY" need 45 base speed. Strong classes? -Berserker; Superb speed and strength. Also give strong support gains. -Sage; Strongest magic class. -Dark Flier; Strong support, with great movement and decent magic stats. ====================== = 04 - PAIRINGS - 04 = ====================== Before going into detail, I figured I just mention the pairings I suggest here. Chrom with Sumia Lissa with Ricken Olivia with Frederick Maribelle with Lon'Qu Sully with Donnel Sumia with Chrom Cordelia with Vaike Cherche with Gregor Panne with Stahl Miriel with Libra Tharja with Gaius Nowi with Henry female Avatar with Laurent (for max magic, you should ALWAYS go female Avatar) male Avatar with Sumia (so Sumia can replace Nah) I tried to maximize Galeforce. Also, everyone that is going to attack (primary units) will have Luna. Support units will see less (if any) combat, thus won't be needing Luna. I also try to hit the 75 after tonics and rally bots mark as much as I can. ==================================== = 05 - CHILDREN OF THE FUTURE - 05 = ==================================== Children are listed in order of recruitment. Paralogue 5 first, paralogue 16 last. Recruitment: (chapter 13) Lucina - End of chapter (paralogue 5) Owain - Talk with Chrom or Lissa. (paralogue 6) Inigo - Talk with Chrom or Olivia (paralogue 7) Brady - Talk with Chrom or Maribelle. (paralogue 8) Kjelle - Talk with Chrom or Sully. (paralogue 9) Cynthia - Talk with Chrom or Sumia. (paralogue 10) Severa - Have Severa talk to Holland. (paralogue 11) Gerome - Talk with Chrom or Cherche. (paralogue 12) Morgan - Talk with Chrom or Avatar. (paralogue 13) Yarne - Talk with Chrom or Panne. (paralogue 14) Laurent - Let Chrom or Miriel visit south-western village. (paralogue 15) Noire - Automatically from turn 2. (paralogue 16) Nah - Talk with Chrom or Nowi. ---------------------- - 05.00 AVATAR/ROBIN - ---------------------- "Huh? Why are you staring at me like that? Let's get to the battle!" Avatar, or Robin as his/her default name is. Actually a pretty decent fighter, but not as strong as most children. Yes, I know, she isn't a child from the future. But I've had questions about her skill set before, so I figured I might as well mention it. He/she also has problems reaching 75 speed, but there is ONE solution. Always choose Speed as his/her asset. With this, he/she only needs All Stats +2 to reach it (or Speed +2), without the help of a support partner. So what makes a good flaw? Many things will do. What flaw NOT to pick? -Magic -Resistance Why not? Because they also LOWER your speed. Which is bad. I prefer to make a magic Robin, so I actually always pick Strength as my flaw. Sure, this can be somewhat bad early game, but it is super strong late game. As a magic user, I will never use strength, so the -3 isn't a problem. I also only suffer from -1 skill and -1 defense. Because Robin can be the father for ANY kid, he is much wanted by everyone, as he does give EVERY class to ANYONE. Still, I prefer a full-paired support crew. So I need HER to get an S-support with a second-gen unit. I choose Laurent, for extra magic, as her son will have plenty of speed on his own. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Avatar/Robin: Galeforce - Dark Flier, level 15. Tomefaire - Sage, level 15. Luna - Great Knight, level 5. All Stats +2 - Champions of Yore 3 reward (DLC map) Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Final class: Dark Flier. Marries (S-support with): Laurent. Summary: The Avatar/Robin should be really strong, but the only thing he/she really shines in, are his/her available classes. Because of this, I actually want her to be female. This way I do get a bit stronger Galeforce user and can still pair up everyone. Robin is a decent magic unit, with plenty of speed because of All Stats +2. Without it, she is just 2 short. With Laurent as her support, she gains tons of magic power. Also when Laurent hits as a support unit, the enemy won't like it. Strong unit, with an even better support partner. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 33 | 42 | 42 | 46 | 47 | 31 | 41 | | 80 | 43 | 52 | 52 | 56 | 57 | 41 | 51 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. ---------------- - 05.01 LUCINA - ---------------- "We have won our future, but we are in debt to so many sad memories... I pray at least one of those sadnesses will yet be undone." Lucina can be a real powerhouse. Proc-stacking is rather popular on her. You will get Aether for free anyway. She is also the ONLY child that will learn Dual Strike+ Chrom doesn't have a lot of options to marry, but Sumia and Olivia are the best two. Sully doesn't offer Galeforce and Brady (Maribelle) doesn't want Chrom as his father. Never go for Maiden. Only pick Avatar if you want to beat the game on Lunatic+ more easily. Because Cynthia does benefit more from Chrom (also getting Aether), I prefer Sumia as the mother. Olivia would also do great. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Lucina: Dual Strike+ - you get this as a default skill. Aether - you get this as a default skill. Galeforce - Dark Flier, level 15. Luna - Great Knight, level 5. Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Pass down: Father > Aether (always does). Mother > Galeforce(!) or Luna. Final class: Dark Flier. Marries (S-support with): Owain. Summary: Lucina is a strong unit, with Aether + Luna as her biggest asset. Too bad that her speed is just one to slow... But you could fix that, if you wanted to give up Luna for it. IF you want that, get All Stats +2, but I think it will be a waste. You will probably kill the enemy with this setup anyway. She pairs up with Owain, which will also give a nice boost in her magic department. Some people like her as a Paladin, but I do not. But you probably would want a more physical class, if Olivia would be her mother. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 36 | 43 | 45 | 47 | 47 | 30 | 42 | | 80 | 46 | 53 | 55 | 57 | 57 | 40 | 52 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. --------------- - 05.02 OWAIN - --------------- "I am the wolf who howls for justice! The eagle who cries for love! A chosen warrior come from the future to bring hope to a dying world... I am Owain!" Owain comes as a Myrmidon, which is somewhat strange. Lissa is a pure magical unit, but her son refuses to do so..? We cannot accept that. Owain has a lot of potential as a Sage. Actually, most fathers will give him more magic then strength anyway. Owain is slowish, but we cannot let this stop us. Because its really hard to fix this, we might as well pick Ricken, to maximize his magic. With Ricken as his father, we could potentially also fix his slow speed, in order make him double everything. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Owain: Galeforce - Make sure he gets this from Lissa(!!) Tomefaire - Sage, level 15. Luna - Great Knight, level 5. Aggressor - Dread Fighter, level 15. (Lost Bloodlines 2 reward, DLC map) Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Pass down: Mother > Galeforce(!) Pass this down, or he won't be able to learn the skill. Father > Tomefaire, or Luna. Final class: Sage. Marries (S-support with): Lucina. Summary: Owain gets to be the strongest magic user, that is, he is on pair with Laurent. Laurent gets better speed, but Owain gets Galeforce. Would've been better if you could've switched that. Still, Owain does great in supporting Lucina. He would need All Stats +2 and her support to double Anna, or the stronger enemies on Lunatic+. His magic will be game breaking, like it is for Laurent and Morgan. Owain really wants that Luna, but if you want, you could try and abuse his Myrmidon qualities. Get Vantage, Wrath and Vengeance and go wild. All are in his pool of skills. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 28 | 51 | 43 | 43 | 49 | 30 | 42 | | 80 | 38 | 61 | 53 | 53 | 59 | 40 | 52 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. --------------- - 05.03 INIGO - --------------- "My days are... Er, they WERE mostly spent flirting with girls. Is that boring? I should be asking about YOUR life!" Inigo is said to be the REAL son of Chrom. Sure, he does look like him, in some way at least. Blue hair also does look good on him. Chrom actually makes a great father, so does Stahl. But other kids will benefit more from that. Inigo will always be strong, to prove this, I will give him one of the leftover fathers; Frederick. Inigo is like Owain. He will be strong in almost everything, as long as he can still get Luna. With Frederick you still get Luna and the highest strength. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Inigo: Galeforce - Make sure he gets this from Olivia(!!) Axefaire - Berserker, level 15. Father > Luna. Final class: Berserker. Marries (S-support with): Noire. Summary: Inigo makes a great physical fighter. Sure, he can be everything he wants to be. He only needs Luna. He is like Owain, only he is a bit stronger in melee combat. With Stahl as his father, he gets overkill speed. With Frederick he gets just enough, while getting just as much strength and skill. Because of Noire (Assassin support) he gets more than enough speed to double like a madman. Not as much strength as his buddies Gerome and Yarne, but he CAN use Galeforce and will. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 53 | 29 | 39 | 44 | 46 | 36 | 30 | | 80 | 63 | 39 | 49 | 54 | 56 | 46 | 40 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. --------------- - 05.04 BRADY - --------------- "I won't cry! She'll be back! I know it! And in the meantime, I'll write the finest song about her that ever was!" Brady looks weak, but he actually is THE strongest child. At least, the one with biggest potential. Sure, he is a healer first time you meet him. But this will change rather quickly. Brady has all skills he wants from his mother. Yes, that is correct. So what we really need is stats. What is the most important stat to have? Correct, it is SPEED. To get the most speed we would like Lon'Qu to be his father. Virion could also do great, but no one really needs Lon'Qu anyway. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Brady: Galeforce - Make sure he gets this from Maribelle(!!) Tomefaire - Sage, level 15. Father > Nothing useful. Try Movement+1 or Lucky Seven if you like. Final class: Sage. Marries (S-support with): Cynthia. Summary: Brady has everything he wants, but speed. Virion or Lon'Qu are his real solution here. Strong magic and superb speed, nothing to complain about. He wants a strong support, which Cynthia provides. Together they can wreck havoc and keep on going, as both have access to Galeforce. Try to get him out of the healing as soon as possible and become the destructive machine he deserves to be. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 28 | 49 | 48 | 46 | 49 | 27 | 41 | | 80 | 38 | 59 | 58 | 56 | 59 | 37 | 51 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. ---------------- - 05.05 KJELLE - ---------------- "If someone's stronger than me, they get my respect. And if they're weaker than me, I don't waste my time. That's all I'm saying..." Kjelle is the daughter of Sully. She would've liked Chrom as her father, but unfortunately Chrom doesn't offer Galeforce. Neither does her mother. But she can still learn it?! That is correct. For this you will need Donnel or Gaius(!) as her father. Both will do nicely on her. BUT! Donnel is the only option to give her the Hero class. Unfortunately she can't also learn Axefaire from him, but Gaius doesn't offer it either. With Donnel as her father she still does gain JUST enough speed to double. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Kjelle: Galeforce - Dark Flier, level 15. Swordfaire - Swordmaster, level 15. Luna - Great Knight, level 5. All Stats +2 - Champions of Yore 3 reward (DLC map) Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Pass down: Mother > Luna or Swordfaire. Father > Aptitude(!), Underdog, Counter or Sol? Final class: Hero. Marries (S-support with): Yarne. Summary: Kjelle makes a great physical fighter. At least, much better than most female units. We will need a few anyway, since Yarne and Gerome are poor magical units. Kjelle has decent strength but doesn't have much options to abuse ~faires. She doesn't get the Tomefaire, which she would've loved. Swordfaire is the best next thing she can get. At least she does get Galeforce out of this. She will need to learn that herself. With Gaius as her father, she wouldn't be needing All Stats +2. You could use Vantage or something like that then. Or just change her class to Assassin. Main problem would be the lack of Hero class. As Assassin you will get more speed, but less strength. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 43 | 29 | 48 | 44 | 49 | 41 | 36 | | 80 | 53 | 39 | 58 | 54 | 59 | 51 | 46 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. ----------------- - 05.06 CYNTHIA - ----------------- "I AM CYNTHIA! I FLOAT LIKE A LEAF AND STING LIKE A NETTLE!... Eh. Too vegetarian. Although it might lull the foe into a false sense of security..." Cynthia will be the sister of Lucina. Maybe a bit weaker, due to the lack of Dual Stike+, but still deadly. If Chrom wouldn't be available, she can get ANY father. He mother does provide EVERYTHING she needs really. Tomefaire? Yep. Luna? Yep. Galeforce? Yep... Her best "other" father would be Henry. But this does give some problems to Nah, who would then want Libra, which would give a snowball effect on most pairings. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Cynthia: Aether - you get this as a default skill. Luna - Great Knight, level 5. Tomefaire - Sage, level 15. Galeforce - Dark Flier, level 15. Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Pass down: Mother > Galeforce, Luna or Tomefaire. Father > Aether (always does) Final class: Dark Flier. Marries (S-support with): Brady. Summary: Cynthia would´ve loved the Dual Strike+ skill, but just can't get it. She does get the Aether skill, which is deadly paired with Luna. Also she can boost her stats with Tomefaire. I prefer Brady as her mate, because he does offer massive magical support. Also his support hits will be deadly. If you want that extra speed, like Lucina, just lose Luna and get All Stats+2. ---------------- - 05.07 SEVERA - ---------------- "You can die quickly if you don't shut up! Now stop wasting your breath. I'm not the sort of floozy to swoon over a cowpile of trite flattery." Everyone loves Severa, don't they? Severa is going to be our offensive tank. Sure, she can do nice as a Dark Flier, but we want her to be a powerhouse. For this she needs speed, strength and LUNA. Luna is easily grabbed. Pick Frederick or Stahl. Or wait! We can use a special trick! Vaike does give Luna to all of his daughters! Which is great. He does also provide (much/most) strength and good speed (and not least; AXEFAIRE!!). ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Severa: Axefaire - Make sure she gets this from Vaike(!!) Anathema - Dark Mage, level 10. Luna - Great Knight, level 5. Galeforce - Dark Flier, level 15. Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Pass down: Mother > Galeforce(!) or Anathema. Father > Axefaire(!) Pass this down, or she won't be able to learn the skill. Final class: Hero. Marries (S-support with): Gerome. Summary: I prefer the Hero class, because of the higher strength cap. Also the Brave Axe is much stronger then the Brave Sword. If you want to become an Assassin, pick STAHL as her father. You could get Anathema from her mother, but that is very unlikely. Its easy to grab, herself, so just pass down Galeforce and call it a day. Strongest melee girl possible. She also gives Gerome the much needed hit. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 47 | 28 | 50 | 46 | 44 | 41 | 34 | | 80 | 57 | 38 | 60 | 56 | 54 | 51 | 44 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. ---------------- - 05.08 GEROME - ---------------- "Why does Minerva cry out in your presence, fiends? Have you put some spell upon her? Last time I heard her screech so sadly was when my parents fell..." Gerome is a powerhouse. But he really misses that Galeforce skill. Too bad. But he can still be a great support unit. For this, we want his strength to be as high and it can be. For this we will need Berserker. Unfortunately he has very low on skill as a Berserker, so we need to boost this, or lower the avoid of his enemies... There are only a few options for this, Henry, Gregor or Vaike. I would actually prefer Henry here, but he is much better elsewhere. IF you would ever NOT need Henry anywhere, try him on Gerome, you won't regret it. For now, we will pick Gregor, which gives highest strength after Vaike. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Gerome: Axefaire - Berserker, level 15. Axebreaker - Hero, level 15. Swordbreaker - Wyvern Lord, level 15. Aggressor - Dread Fighter, level 15. (Lost Bloodlines 2 reward, DLC map) Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Pass down: Mother > Get Demoiselle or Dual Support+. Father > Axebreaker Final class: Berserker. Marries (S-support with): Severa. Summary: Both ~breaker skills should make him hit more easily. If you want, you could try Tantivy over Axebreaker, but I am not convinced. Or go for more power and get All Stats +2 over the Axebreaker. IF Henry would be the father, make sure you learn and use both Anathema and Hex. Both are much more useful. Gerome is build, with the knowledge, that he will never be the front attacker. If he would, he would've wanted Luna. Which he can't get. Then you would need something like Frederick, but then you lose out on Axefaire... Berserker is the best class for Gerome, so make sure he gets a father that provides it. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 56 | 30 | 37 | 44 | 45 | 38 | 27 | | 80 | 66 | 40 | 47 | 54 | 55 | 48 | 37 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. ---------------- - 05.09 MORGAN - ---------------- "I realize I'm going out on a limb here, but... Could you just fall over and play dead? Saves us both the hassle..." Morgan, the ULTIMATE fighting machine. Yes, he is. Galeforce, paired with Aggressor?! What else would you want? You know what? He CAN get EVERYTHING you want. So pick what you want. Let his mother have speed and you're good. Laurent for best stats (highest magic). You can also go for Brady if you want too. Or just make ANYONE his father, he will always be THE strongest weapon in your army. If not, you're doing it wrong. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Morgan: Galeforce - Make sure he gets this from the Avatar(!!) Tomefaire - Sage, level 15. Father > Doesn't matter. Get Luna to save you some trouble. Final class: Sorcerer. Marries (S-support with): Nah. Summary: Broken unit doesn't need the best support. Together with Nah he will be unstoppable anyway. Nah gives just enough speed and magic boost as a Valkyrie. Together they have super speed with high magic. I prefer Sorcerer over Sage, because of the many stronger spells the dark side offers. Waste is already 6 points higher than Celica’s Gale. And he could even use Celica’s Gale, if he wanted too. You also have access to Aversa’s Night, would you ever need it. You can even bring Vantage to the field, or Vengeance. You can really do so many things with Morgan, he will be broken no matter what. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 26 | 49 | 42 | 46 | 47 | 39 | 46 | | 80 | 36 | 59 | 52 | 56 | 57 | 49 | 56 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. --------------- - 05.10 YARNE - --------------- "People die from much lesser things you know. It's no laughing matter! What if you scare me and I trip and fall and cut my head open? What then?!" Yarne may act like an idiot, but his fighting skill is tremendous. Super strength, high speed. All he really wanted is Galeforce, which he won't be able to get. Because of his strength, we want him as a Berserker. Off course this is why we need to raise his accuracy. Stahl or Virion are good options for this, but you can also go for Frederick, if you want a bit more strength and Luna. For now, I will set him up with Stahl. This way he gains the best of both worlds. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Yarne: Swordbreaker - Make sure he gets this from Panne(!!) Hit Rate +20 - Sniper, level 5. Axefaire - Berserker, level 15. Aggressor - Dread Fighter, level 15. (Lost Bloodlines 2 reward, DLC map) Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Pass down: Mother > Swordbreaker(!) Pass this down, or he won't be able to learn it. Father > Luna. Final class: Berserker. Marries (S-support with): Kjelle. Summary: Yarne is made for heavy melee fighting. He doesn't really need Luna, but if you ever want to make him fight, he better has it. Best benefit from Stahl is Hit Rate +20. He gets the same "strength" and "skill" value from Frederick in case you wonder. With this build you shouldn't use Yarne as a main attacker. If you want him as your main attacker, get Luna instead of Swordbreaker. The Hit Rate +20 should be there, so he can hit more easily. Hitting swords should be done by others then. Hits like a truck, make no mistake. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 55 | 29 | 39 | 48 | 43 | 38 | 29 | | 80 | 65 | 39 | 49 | 58 | 53 | 48 | 39 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. ----------------- - 05.11 LAURENT - ----------------- "The world is vast and full of potential unexplored! I shall devote myself to discovering that art which might reunite us" Laurent, the strongest magic user... Very unfortunately that he cannot learn the likes of Galeforce. But, with it, he would probably be on terms with Morgan in breaking the game. Without Galeforce, there really isn't much need for him to get Luna. Sure, he could do a round of combat, but still. I prefer to make him THE best magic support there is. His father will be Libra. Libra offers nothing but +6 in magic, which is really great to begin with. He will marry the Avatar, making Morgan game breaking. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Laurent: Tomefaire - Sage, level 15. Hex - Dark Mage, level 1. Anathema - Dark Mage, level 10. Aggressor - Dread Fighter, level 15. (Lost Bloodlines 2 reward, DLC map) Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Pass down: Mother > Hex or Anathema. Father > Hex or Anathema. Final class: Sage. Marries (S-support with): Avatar/Robin. Summary: Laurent can go many ways. I prefer the support role. He makes Avatar/Robin THAT much stronger. With Hex and Anathema your Avatar/Robin will never miss, neither will Laurent. If you think Hex and Anathema are overkill, which they probably are, you should replace one (probably Hex) with All Stats +2. That way he will gain even MORE magic power. Should Laurent become one of your main fighters, then you should make Ricken his father. That way he will gain Luna and will still get a great magic boost out of it. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 29 | 51 | 46 | 44 | 45 | 30 | 42 | | 80 | 39 | 61 | 56 | 54 | 55 | 40 | 52 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. --------------- - 05.12 NOIRE - --------------- "Eek! Hungry monsters are gonna nibble at me like an overripe aubergine! ... WE'LL SEE WHO DEVOURS WHO! TASTE JUDGMENT, CROP-MUNCHER!" Noire looks really scared, but is actually quite a decent fighter. I would've loved to keep her in a magic class, but I just can't. We have another Galeforce father to spare and Noire can make perfect use of him. Actually, everything about Gaius is great on Noire. She gets Galeforce and even a new class and ~faire to use it in. If you still won't like it, no problem. Just change her back to Sniper or Bow Knight and she will do just as fine. IF she was able to get both Galeforce AND Tomefaire, she would've made a great Dark Flier. But only THE Avatar can make that happen. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Noire: Galeforce - Dark Flier, level 15. Luna - Great Knight, level 5. Swordfaire - Swordmaster, level 15. Anathema - Dark Mage, level 10. Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Pass down: Mother > Luna. If you can't be bothered, get Anathema. Father > Swordfaire (or Counter, or Sol) Final class: Assassin. Marries (S-support with): Inigo. Summary: Not many people like the Assassin class. Why? Probably because its weaker then the Hero class. It has an overkill in speed, that I agree with. But she really helps Inigo out a great time. Assassin passes +4 speed when paired up. With the 44 speed that Inigo has, we just make it to 48 speed. Which is great and needed to double the likes of Anna. If you don't like the Assassin class, that's no problem at all. With little effort you can switch to Bowknight, or Sniper. Just replace the Swordfaire with Bowfaire (or keep it). With Anathema gone, you can get All Stats +2, so she can still double all on her own. Really fond of this pairing. Though, I never thought I would use it before. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 42 | 33 | 50 | 50 | 41 | 32 | 31 | | 80 | 52 | 43 | 60 | 60 | 51 | 42 | 41 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. ------------- - 05.13 NAH - ------------- "Why are you smiling like that? It's my silly name, isn't it? Ugh." Nah, the final child to discuss. Because she is the last, you would think she can only get leftovers, right? This is actually quite wrong. Why? Because many fathers don't want her as their daughter. Nah can be decent at best, but wants to do magic. All because of her access to Tomefaire. She doesn't learn Luna, unless her father will provide it. But if a father provides it, she will be horrible slow. Even with Stahl as her father, she will lack at least 7 speed. That is way too much to compensate. The lack of speed AND Luna is actually the main reason why I would never allow Gaius or Donnel to be wasted on her. Even with Avatar as the father she is only decent. So what to do with her? Get Valkryie. Options? Gregor and Henry. Since Gregor is more physical, we prefer Henry, which also offers other good supports skills. ---------- - SKILLS - ---------- Best skills to collect for Nah: Tomefaire - Sage, level 15. Hex - Dark Mage, level 1. Anathema - Dark Mage, level 10. All Stats +2 - Champions of Yore 3 reward (DLC map) Limit Breaker - Rogues and Redeemers 3 reward (DLC map) Pass down: Mother > Tomefaire. Father > Wrath(?). Final class: Valkyrie. Marries (S-support with): Morgan(M). Summary: Nah is the slowest unit. That said, she can also be the best tank, with Kellam she can get +7 in defense. With Stahl she still gets +6 defense, but also some other great stats. Still, I don't think she is worth that trouble. But she does Tomefaire! She can become a pretty good magic user, but still a slow one. This is why I wanted a good magic support class for her. Because Dark Flier is not available, I needed something else; Valkyrie. Unfortunately, not many fathers offer this class. For this, I could pick between Henry or Gregor (or Donnel). Gregor and Henry both also do great on Gerome, but Henry tends to be a more magical father. As a Valkyrie our Nah can provide JUST enough speed as a support bonus, that Morgan will double as a Sorcerer. Great as a pair-up unit, not so great if she needs to fight on her own. --------------- - FINAL STATS - --------------- | HP | STR | MAG | SKL | SPD | LCK | DEF | RES | | 80 | 33 | 45 | 40 | 42 | 45 | 35 | 47 | | 80 | 43 | 55 | 50 | 52 | 55 | 45 | 57 | WITH LIMIT BREAKER Final stats without the benefits of Rally Bots, All Stats +2 and/or Tonics. ========================================== = 06 - LUNA / DUAL GUARD + PAIRINGS - 06 = ========================================== Luna and Dual Guard+ are considered two of the best skills in the game. Luna is offensive, while Dual Guard+ is for support. I have made a list, so that EVERY child can learn those two skills. Still it is based on the most optimal setup, so you can still switch around a bit if you want to. Olivia - S - Chrom Lissa - S - Ricken Sumia - S - Henry Maribelle - S - Lon'Qu Sully - S - Donnel Cordelia - S - Vaike Cherche - S - Frederick Panne - S - Stahl Miriel - S - Avatar/Robin Tharja - S - Gaius Nowi - S - Kellam Some things to keep in mind, while switching around: The following children will always be able to learn both skills: Brady Noire Lucina Morgan Kjelle Cynthia The following fathers will always pass down both skills: Chrom Stahl Kellam Ricken Frederick Avatar/Robin - Vaike will only pass it down to female children. This means that Vaike should be always the father of either Severa (marry Cordelia) or Nah (marry Nowi). - Chrom has limited options to marry, so he should marry Olivia. - Avatar/Robin will give his son/daughter access to all available classes. But to make most use out of this, he should marry Miriel, as Laurent will benefit most of it. ======================= = 07 - COPYRIGHT - 07 = ======================= This Guide is made and written by SSJDennis, nothing from this guide may be duplicated without my permission.
