The game depicts nudity and this guide does not ignore that fact. If you are morally opposed to nudity or are otherwise not legally able to view or read about it, please stop reading here and click the "back" button to return to where you came from. I tried my best to avoid using vulgar language throughout this guide, but there are times where I felt it necessary to convey the exact message the game had, using language that would be considered offensive to some. Please be aware that by reading past this point, you are doing so at your own risk and you may find objectionable words. I cannot be held responsible if you find this guide to go against your morals and convictions. I would like to say that this guide, as well as the other guides for adult 3DO titles I have written are 100% serious. I have received some e-mails making light of them. I have an appreciation for the worst of the worst in the video game world, and that includes awful pornographic titles for a failed system. I wrote this guide and all the others in the interest of preserving this shameful, yet hilarious, part of video game history. Almost every person I have ever had conversation with has never heard of, let alone imagined, pornographic video games. These guides are to help you understand what they are about, exactly, and help you realize that they are really not erotic at all, especially when compared to what is available on the internet today. Sex for the 3DO is one of the many adult titles that Vivid Interactive released during the early 90's. Like all of their other titles, this "game" is very ambiguous and not very erotic. There is indeed a story line within this interactive movie, though it is buried under poor acting and terrible editing. This guide is intended to help you understand what is going on in each chapter of the movie, as well as give you some basic instruction on how to play it. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail them to me. You can find my e-mail address at the beginning of this guide. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Controls (CONT) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you are on the main menu, there will be five pictures. Press it again to make it resume. When paused: Right skips ahead a frame Left skips back a frame Plot Analysis ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1 (CHP1) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- We first see a guy, who we later learned is named Allen in black and white on what appears to be a 1950's style television. He is talking about a woman at his office that he always invasions naked. He says that he is so infatuated with her that he has actually never seen her clothed when she walks in. He talks about what it would be like to touch, taste and smell her. We then move on to see a bunch of seemingly random clips of many different women strewn together in what seems like an editing room joke more than anything. It starts out with several girls dancing at a club. We have to presume that this is what Allen actually sees one night because strewn throughout these clips of the ladies dancing are clips depicting them in sexual acts. These clips are Allen's fantasies. Many of the clips feature two of the three women, if not all three, engaging one another in a variety of scenes. We see them fire side, pool side, in a bed, in a hot tub and on a couch. Some of the clips also feature a man. He is seen only briefly in the scene with all three women and is otherwise only seen with one woman at a time. There is no nudity from the waist down in any clip. At one point a car is shown traveling down a tunnel but the camera captures all the light as it moves on one frame, so the headlights look blurred. This is near the end of the scene. A car entering a tunnel (or any vehicle entering a tunnel) is often an American euphemism for intercourse. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 2 (CHP2) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next scene starts out with our buddy Allen sleeping with a huge smile on his face. He scene then transfers to a shot of him sitting at a table watching a sexy woman across the room. This is a dream sequence. The girl is one of the girls from the club in the previous chapter. She will slowly remove her clothes and touch herself as Allen watches from the other side of the room. After revealing her breasts, she calls Allen over to her with a motion of her finger. Allen then kisses her and re cut back to him sleeping. We are then shown a completely different scene that takes place within an office between a man and a woman. These two are clearly engaged in sex and it appears as if this is perhaps something Allen witnessed while at work because it takes place in an office type area. We are still shown small clips of Allen sleeping, so this part is relevant to his dream. Whether or not it actually happened is a mystery, but it is difficult to imagine anyone having a sexual dream about a couple without being a part of that couple. Eventually we go back to Allen dreaming of himself. Spliced in here are scenes of the office escapade with the final scene being Allen pulling his hand out of his pants and waking up. Allen is obviously infatuated with both of these women, as shown in his dream sequences. However, the question of why he only dreams of himself with one of these girls and not with the other has to be asked. While the focus on the other couple was mostly on the girl, why wouldn't his subconscious put him into both situations? It makes one wonder if that was a real event that he was using as inspiration to draw from in order to form his dream with the other woman. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3 (CHP3) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next chapter starts with the 1950's TV again and a woman asking if Allen thinks about sex all the time. We then see him in his office staring down a woman. It then jumps to a beach with a man and a woman walking into a house. The man in the clips has long, blonde hair, but actually looks like it may be Allen, invasion himself with this woman in some sort of perfect, romantic setting. One of the first things we see is this long haired individual taking an ice cube to the woman's rear end, an act a lot of people would not find intimate. The woman takes her clothes off and we jump to a scene in the bathroom between the two. She is up on the counter while having sex with the man. If you look at the mirror behind them closely, when she thrusts towards the man, you can see the camera for a brief moment. The view then switches to one shot entirely in the mirror. It switches around a few more times until you see just the face of the woman enjoying herself. We then see who is presumably Allen laying on his back as she falls down to him, exhausted. If this is indeed Allen, one has to wonder why his appearance changes so much. He has the same pointy nose as Allen does, but the hair style and color are gone. Also, his coke-bottle glasses are gone, which are his most identifiable feature. It would appear that Allen feels inferior with his look and has to change it in his dreams and fantasies in order to be attractive to women. One would think that a man's sexual fantasies would involve women liking him for who he is and wanting to be with him like that, rather than him having to change his look in order to have females desire him. However, the game may just be producing an image that is pleasing to the eye because a naked ugly guy is a lot less fun than a naked good looking guy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 4 (CHP4) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This chapter starts out with Allen having a birthday party. It is nothing more than a cleaver set up for him to have another fantasy about the woman at work, who we find out is named Megan. Allen says he was with Sharon Stone twice that night, but no one believes him. They talk about needing to find him a girl, when one asks about the receptionist that he always is infatuated with. His fantasy starts out with him watching a girl as she is walking up the stairs in a short dress. It then turns out that is just actually watching a porno. Spliced in with these are sots of Megan, the porno he is watching, and him dancing in an apron for some unknown reason. He runs into a kitchen and steals a cooked turkey, then opens his closet and his porn collection falls out. We then see Megan walking around in the office in her underwear with Allen watching. There will be scenes from the porno, the office and at his home, all splice together in two to three second bursts throughout this chapter. There will be a scene where Megan comes home to Allen who has dinner all cooked and ready to eat. These scenes all represent how he thinks about Megan no matter what he is doing. Even as he is watching porn, he envisions her in the movies. He will make a dinner, even steal it, for her, even though she is not with him, but then imagine eating it with her. Every single moment of his life is spent thinking about her, often naked or nearly naked. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 5 (CHP5) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The final chapter shows Allen saying sex is a natural function like eating is. Here we will see many clips, some that were shown in the first chapter, and some new ones. There will prominently be a scene with a woman pushing a man onto a bed and climbing on top of him. In the background, next to a window, we see a telescope. One can only assume this is another one of Allen's fantasies where he has to change his look, but this time we can see he does not change his decor as he has a telescope for spying on women through their windows from afar. One of the funniest scenes features a very hairy arm reaching around a doorway to grab a jar of Vaseline off the counter in a bathroom. Since there are many repeated clips strewn throughout this chapter, it furthers the point that all Allen thinks of day in and day out is sex. Quite often it is of one girl, and it is usually the same act over and over again. So what do we gain from all of this? Not much really. In the end, Allen's fantasies are just a way to show sexual acts with some sort of reasoning. Like most soft core porn, there has to be a story line, although it is never good. This is just another shining example. Using the fantasies of a 30- something is just a way to get multiple women into one "game." What he can take away from this is that maybe in the early 90's, this was a passable excuse for porn, but by today's standards, this is just laughable. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What is this game? A: This is less of a game and more of an interactive movie. It essentially is a porn movie for the 3DO. A very bad, soft core porn movie for the 3DO. Q: How much nudity is there? A: The only real nudity are exposed breasts. Several different women expose their breasts at various times. There are other situations where full nudity is implied, but nothing can actually be seen. The camera is on the side of a couple engaging in intercourse, but all you can see are the legs and the breasts of the woman, and the top half of the man. Q: How graphic is this game? A: There will be times where thongs are shown as well as heads in between the legs of women. There are some lesbian scenes shown, where women take each others clothes off, down to their panties and put each others breasts in their mouths. There is one chapter where it is clear that a man and a woman are having sex, although you can only see her breasts. There are two scenes, one featuring two women and one with a man and a woman, where you can clearly see them performing oral sex on a woman. The camera shots are from afar and show the entire bodies of both individuals nearly all the time. Q: Who is responsible for this game and when did it come out? A: The game was released by a company called Vivid Interactive in 1995. I believe Vivid Interactive to be a division of the same company that recently said it had a sex tape of Jimmie Hendrix, but I am not certain. If anyone knows for sure, please let me know. Q: Does Vivid Interactive still produce games today? A: As far as I know, Vivid Interactive is no longer producing anything for any video game system and no current system allows adult only titles to be produced for it. Q: Where can I get a copy of this game? A: If you want this game, you will have to buy it on eBay as it is not for sale in any retail stores. Be aware that this game will cost a lot as it has pretty high value amongst collectors due to it being fairly rare and of an adult subject matter. Expect to pay no less than $40 US. Q: Do you know the names of the people in this game? A: According to the back of the box, it stars Nikki Dial, P.J. Sparxx, and Crystal Wilder. After a quick Google Search, they all appear to be porn star names, but only P. J. Sparxx looked like any of the girls in the game. If you want more information, I suggest you use Google to search for it. Q: What do you think of this game? A: I have a review posted here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/3do/review/R121931.html If you want the short version, here it is: I think this game is pretty much worthless, other than for a cheap laugh. It is fun to show off to say "Hey, look at this abomination!" That's about it though. It is neither erotic nor fun and has no value other than to collectors. Q: Why does the video play back get so jumpy? Is my 3DO broken? A: No, it is the game. The video play back gets very glitchy in the last couple of chapters and is just about unwatchable. Q: What would you suggest as an alternative adult title for the 3DO? A: In North America, Neurodancer! Journey into the Neuronet is a little bit better because it actually has elements of gaming and makes you work for the nudity. However, the women aren't as attractive. If you have access to Japanese titles, I like the Virtual Cameraman series as they do present quite a bit of a challenge, especially if you can't read a word of Japanese like me. The Yakyuukyen Special is also an interesting title that is essentially strip Rock, Paper, Scissors. It does not require that you have any knowledge of Japanese to play, but you may not get the full experience. It makes you work for the nudity, but not as much as Virtual Cameraman does. Stay away from any of Vivid Interactive's other titles as well as Plumber's Don't Wear Ties. Q: Are there any cheats or codes for this game? A: I do not know of any. If there were, I cannot imagine what they would do, other than possibly show the credits. Q: Can I host this guide on my site? A: No. I do not allow anyone to use my guides without expressed, written permission. I do not give permission unless I am asked, specifically, about this guide. I do not like automated e-mails. I will most likely only allow my guide to be hosted on a small website, usually one centered around the game or system my guide is for. For more information, see the Copyright section of this guide, at the bottom. Use of this guide without my permission is considered theft and will be reported to the proper authorities. Q: How do I contact you about this guide? A: E-mail is the best way to do so. My e-mail can be found at the beginning or the end of this guide, just remember to take the numbers 123 out of it because they do not belong. I keep them there to prevent auto scanning websites from obtaining my e-mail address. Alternatively, you can also contact me via MSN using the same e-mail address or on AIM using the screen name ArguroDeXill. While I am almost always online, I am not always at my computer and it may take as many as 8 hours to get a reply from me. Just be patient if this is the contact method of choice. I am not ignoring you, simply doing something away from the computer. Q: What other guides have you done? A: Just simply click on the name Arguro at the very top or the very bottom (orange text in a black box) of this guide and it will take you to my contributor page. From there you can see all the different things I have contributed to Gamefaqs. Q: I really like your guides. Can I donate money to you in support? A: If you really want to, you can send a Pay Pal payment to my e-mail address which is at the top or bottom of this guide. Please understand that any donated money does not mean I will name you in my guide. It also does not mean I will do any special work for you and it certainly does not give you any rights to host this guide or publish it anywhere. This is an odd question and I debated about adding it for a long time, but when I saw other FAQ authors had a similar question, I felt it would be a valid addition. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version History ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 1.00 completed August 19th, 2008 at who knows when?
